    Carro cake for Valentines
    Bruna R.

Delicious and fluffy!!! This is a cake you wont find anywhere and it is a must try. This Brazilian carrot cake with chocolate frosting is always a hit everywhere you bring, this is the authentic brazilian carrot cake with brigadeiro frosting. Fluffy, not too sweet, you will be addicted.

Found a new addiction! Not only did the cake taste amazing, but the customer service was top notch! Katina responded to my order immediately and was so accommodating to when I was available to pick up the cake. I couldn't wait to get home to eat the cake and already am planning to order a another one. The first slice was so much fun to cut into as the chocolate sauce/icing oozed out from the center! The texture of the cake was soft, baked perfectly, with the right amount of flavor. The chocolate sauce was my favorite! It's not overly sweet but tastes very decadent!

Best Brazilian carrot cake I've had in the area. Honestly, it's the closest you will get to that delicious homemade carrot cake we all grew up with in Brazil. Fluffy and very generous frosting (BRIGADEIRO FOR THE WIN!!!). Do yourself a favor and order the full version, otherwise you will be beating yourself up for eating the whole individual version in one seating like I just did . For real, this thing is amazing, has a reasonable price unlike other places around and customer service is great!

    Carrot Cake!

We came to the shop around 11:30 a.m. on August 23rd…read more When we arrived there were two patrons outside enjoying their coffee and pastry and another set of patrons inside a little girl with their dad having a little tea party. I will say that walking in the space is elegant is the word I would like to use but also inviting with the little extras that they do at the table with the fresh flowers the soft chairs the colorful decor that surrounds it. Also the two individuals behind the counter that were taking orders and packaging things were just a delight. Both of them greeted us with a smile and they asked us if it was our first time to the shop and we told them yes and so they walked us through some of the more popular items and how are things were broken down and that was very much appreciated cuz there are many many options in front of you in unless you know exactly what you want you can be looking at everything for a couple of minutes before you decide on even one thing. We ended up getting a regular latte and a rose latte for our drinks. And then as a little delicious taste of something we got the chocolate croissant and the almond croissant. I am going to comment on my rose latte first that thing was beautifully made because though it was sweet but in a way that wasn't overpowering because you could still taste a little bit of the caffeine the creaminess of the milk that was used and the espresso it was like a hint in the background so a little call out there if you're someone that really wants to taste their coffee this wasn't the jam for you and that's okay my husband got the regular latte with steamed milk and I tasted his and that was like coffee in your face so you can always go for a solid twist like that. And to clarify his latte was also very good because it just tasted so fresh and of high quality. Now for the pastries. They were stupendous because they had the right amount of flakiness but softness. They also were buttery but not overly so were like major hands feel greasy it was so savory both of them which is interesting because the fillings one was chocolate one was almond I would have thought that both of them would have had an overpowering sweetness to them. We will say that we both liked the almond croissant more not that the chocolate one wasn't just as good. The almond had a little bit of a 1up because I don't know how to explain it it's almost like it had a almond crumble at the top so you bit into the pastry which was fluffy but you had the crunch on the top then you had a little bit of the almond filling and then you had the butter and like the soft but almost chewiness of the inside of the layers just stupendous all of that together was great. If we end up ever being in that area again will definitely want to go back to try the rest of the stuff they had because I want to know how everything else takes especially those beautiful cakes that were just art themselves

It looked so pretty and we had high hopes. We took the option of adding on a fondant banner for $5 in the store and settled on berry and vanilla. Whoever was helping us was really not much help at all. I guess at least she was honest, but she didn't know what any of the cakes tasted like and if it was buttercream or whipped cream. The cake itself was dry and hard and the texture was oh so wrong. I don't know if it was old, frozen for too long, or some odd ingredients? But for $65 for a small 6", it was very disappointing. We also got the small bisou and a small napoleon. Better than the cake, but still just ok.

They had 120+ drinks being made at all times according to their board, so definitely order at least an hour ahead of time on the weekends. When we finally got our drinks, we chugged them because we were so thirsty and they were sooo good. We ordered a variety of drinks: Strawberry Avocado Kale, Strawberry Daifuku, Durian Smoothie and a few of their other fruit smoothies. The Strawberry Avocado Kale and Strawberry Daifuku were definitely the top 2 drinks for us and I'm excited to come back to try the regular Avocado Kale with popping oat boba! There is plenty of seating inside but if you don't like the smell of durian, then I probably wouldn't sit there. Once you enter the store, you are blasted with a waft of durian air. Overall, 10/10, can't wait to come back when I'm in South Bay!

INSTAGRAM WORTHY (4/5): You've probably heard about this place through socials and can confirm the store is screaming good packaging. Their togo bags are elevated and insulated. SERVICE (3/5): Just the wait for the drinks can be insane. I've seen wait time for over an hour before. They don't allow you to order ahead at opening. It was a 20 minute wait at opening. TAKEAWAY: I don't know if these drinks can be a meal replacement. Parking here sucks, small lot.

We couldn't find a seat, so we decided to take it home. The QR menu was convenient. The staff were busy and looking tired making shaved ice. Not only does it get really busy after work hours, many parking spots are reserved for other businesses. It's also usually crowded inside, making snagging a seat a bit hard. It's a popular spot, and I can see why--the menu features many different bingsoo options alongside other desserts, and they're all very beautiful and cute. There's also free WiFi and bathroom access. I will note that they don't seem particularly diligent about cleaning up between customers. You pick your own seats, and when I finally found a table, there was food residue visible on the tabletop. Their prices are a little higher than some other spots in SJ (ranging from ~$13 to $19 pre-tax), and I don't think the quality of the bingsoo is noticeably better to justify the price. I tried a pricier one (the premium strawberry), and found it to be quite good, but not $20 good. Plus, some aspects seem designed more for pictures than for eating. The little cheesecake slice is a bit hard because it's cold and difficult to eat with the shaved ice. That said, their bingsoo does taste good! The fruit tasted fresh and sweet, and the portion was enough for me to share with my partner. I wish the condensed milk was provided on the side instead of already poured on top, but I didn't mind the amount they gave. I may not be back immediately in the future, but I wouldn't mind visiting again. I would probably stick to the lower-priced options myself, though. If you visit, do keep in mind that it's usually really busy--your order probably will take a minute, and whether that's worth it or not is up to you.
