I was a little peckish after traipsing around a peony farm in Salem. I looked to see where I could get vegan options, and Love Love Teriyaki popped up. I asked the man at the counter to suggest some vegan items. I went with a couple sushi rolls. The avocado roll is a no brainer, I like it, but not a favorite. I got the tempura veggie roll, and that was so good! Wish I would have gotten 2 orders of that! My sister got avocado roll also, and some type of shrimp udon bowl. She had a couple of the tempura veggie rolls I offered, and that was her favorite! Order at the counter, then they bring your order out to you. The worst customer service ever. Lately, we have to resort to recording our calls when we place and order because something is wrong. Last time, my husband asked for no teriyaki sauce and well done. When he got home after picking up the order, all plates had sauce and were not well done. When he went back, the girl that took the order said that my husband never said no sauce and well done, even after she repeated it while taking his order. This time, my husband said for me to call in and order the call. I did, when I show up, mysteriously our order was lost. They tired to blame that I called a different location so I asked to see their caller id and my phone number was there. The girl that was helping me trying to blame her coworker that was in the restroom. When I played the recording she just looked at me and said it wasn't her fault. i aksed them to make the food as we were starving and my sons food that I also had to pick up elsewhere was waiting in the car getting cold. It took them 30 mins for my food and they refused to fix their mistake and give us the food for free. The manager was also the cook and said that things happen and mistakes happen but they don't compensate for their mistakes. I told him that this never happens any where else. We learned on this trip each location has a slightly different menu. This location has soups - ramen, udon etc The lunch of choice this trip - ramen with chicken teriyaki! Very tasty! This is a pretty good place to eat. The food seems to be made fresh to order. I got the spicy chicken and vegetable tampura combo. The chicken was spicy. One piece of shrimp, but I am not too sure if it was good. I took one bite and got a hint of fishy smell, and did not finish the shrimp. The rest of the vegetables were cooked well and tasted very good. The steamed vegetables were more cabbage than vegetables mix but were good. The steamed rice was cooked perfectly. When we walked in, we didn't get service for over five minutes. Two employees kept walking around us doing other things. No acknowledgment or anything. As for the food, eh it's okay. We are visiting and our family said we had to eat here, we ordered a large order, the total was $92.75. I ordered the Yakisoba noodles so we all could have some, mild is what I ordered. The noodles sent my niece to the faucet, my mother drinking milk, my aunt guzzling Gatorade, it was not mild. I love spicy, I am a habanero lover, I enjoyed the heat but no one else did. Mild even shows on the receipt. The teriyaki pork with extra chicken added on was terrible. The pork had so much cartilage, you could not break it down with your teeth and swallow it, you had to spit it out. My dish was a teriyaki beef and I love teriyaki sauce so I always order extra, we will talk about that in the next paragraph. I was eating my food and got a big piece of gristle, I pulled it out of my mouth and along came a medium length black hair. My hair is sandy blonde, at that point I was so grossed out I ended my meal in the bathroom praying to the porcelain. I paid $1.50 for extra teriyaki sauce, which of course I did not get, instead were were given soy sauce, I opened it not knowing it was soy sauce and poured the entire container on my beef. I poured most of it off but the hair was it for me. Very Disappointed. Went there around 2pm for some late lunch. Waited around 20 minutes for my food. When it finally arrived I was served warm/cold orange chicken, teriyaki chicken and rice. The soy sauce I put on my rice was even warmer than the rice itself. Brought my food up to the counter and told the lady about my food. She said she would see what she can do about it. Definitely not authentic on everything, but it does cater to your taste buds. I liked the fact they had a huge menu and varying drinks. They also had a section on their menu that definitely showcased their Oregonian pride with foods named after Oregon landmarks. We had food to go and our server was from Los Angeles, CA and she was nice and helpful. The restaurant was spacious and very clean. My favorite is that they carry kimchi for sale. We both agreed that the teryaki was better than the sushi. The rolls were good, but didn't wow us with complex layers of flavor like some of the more traditional sushi restaurants we've visited. The teryaki was loaded with fresh veggies that were not over-cooked, grilled chicken, and nice thick noodles. I had the Teriyaki Chicken and Gyozas combination. Portions were just right -- filling without being overstuffing. I prefer steamed gyozas, but their deep fried versions are fine, and the dipping sauce is light and tasty. Chicken is a little thin, but it was not over cooked. The teriyaki sauce also was light/thin and lightly sweet (a plus in my book), and not as thick/syrupy or sweet as some other places. If I lived in the area, I would be here very regularly, especially for the lunch special which saved me a couple dollars. read more
