Dinner in Salem OR Ate dinner at this cozy family-owned Japanese restaurant in Salem. We were the only customers there when we walked in. We ordered our food at the counter, actually, it took us awhile to decide on what to get as all the items on the menu looked yummy, we finally chose and found a booth to sit. Shortly after, our meals were brought to our table. I had the Teriyaki Beef (Bulgogi) and hubby had the Beef Bowl. Wow! Delicious and tasty and the meat was soft with enough teriyaki sauce that covered the rice underneath. The portions were plentiful and the value was excellent! The restaurant was very clean. I have ordered this place endless times and finally went in today. Between the relaxing neutral music and the sound of the aquarium, the environment is quiet and peaceful for a nice lunch alone. Lots of bottled drinks to choose from and a big menu. I absolutely am a Rangoon fiend and this place has such crisp yet fully filled ones. The sauce for them isn't your generic cheap neon orange S&S sauce either, it's got a lot of sour kick to it and it's stellar. My perfect, dream bite of food is the basic chicken yakisoba. First, the sauce on this is just amazing. The flavor is out of this world, but still your traditional teriyaki. The chicken is always juicy and cooked perfectly. The noodles are chewy and exactly what you hope for. And the portions always give me food for a few days! The chicken fried rice is also great! I went here for lunch today for the 1st time, I was blown away!! Best noodles and teriyaki chicken I've ever had! I also ordered a side of fried shrimp and was not disappointed at all! 10/10 on food, service and take out time which was only 10 minutes from the time I ordered. Can't wait to come back and enjoy more dishes! They do ask for .25 for extra sauces and hot sauce but it's totally worth the extra couple quarters! Was looking for the closest place that had gyoza, and this was it. When we drove up, it looked like it was closed but had a sign saying "we are open" so we went in. We asked for a table for two, but was told we must order first. So we spent an awkward minute staring at the menu, then ordered. We were then told to sit wherever. When we walked into the dining area, it seriously looked like they lived there; there was a random box of mangoes on a table, along with garbage like a pringles can and an empty soda, and coloring pens. There also was a random walker. They had their child there doing whatever they wanted - an instant annoyance. The food was average. They did not offer sauces at the table, we had to go up to the counter and ask, and then we were charged 25 cents for a small container of it. Really? We won't be returning. read more

Ordered a couple of meals here through Uber Eats. I ordered two vegetarian dishes (they have a decent selection) the veggie bowl and the teriyaki tofu. The tofu dish was better and had a little more going for it than the veggie bowl which is essentially the same minus the tofu. There was no soy sauce or hot sauces included with my meal which made the dish a little dry, especially the white rice. I enjoyed the tofu dish but the veggie bowl was pretty plain. Update: I had this at 5 stars, but the change is due to sporadic hours, I have tried to go at noon when they say they open, only to hang out till 12:15-12:20 because they are still closed, and then had to go elsewhere since no one showed, they also seem to randomly close and just put a paper sign in the window saying they aren't opening today, I understand stuff happens, but when 40% of the times I have recently tried to go they have been closed during normal business hours there is a problem Ok, so I like to assume all places are a 5 star Place and add/subtract as needed, so plus one star for using a monkey in the logo, subtract a star for no fountain drinks, bottles/cans only, subtract another for ambiance, but back up to five for taste to dollars spent ratio. Ate here last week with my bf. I had the bulgogi and he had the spicy chicken. The lady working was very nice. The seating is very comfortable...some of the most comfy booths I've ever sat in. Like another reviewer, I prefer to have my foods marinated instead of with alot of sauce, but it was very flavorful. My bf absolutely loved his food and already wanted to go back twice this week. This will probably be our go-to place in Keizer when we want rice but not Chinese. The prices are decent and is not much farther than Love Love Teriyaki II. The food here is pretty great! I was a little surprised given it's location (triple check your locked car, hide your kids, hide your wives, etc.). The staff is very nice and accommodating. This place is okay it's not bad either. It's not really my go to teriyaki joint but it's right down the street from my house so i'll go by there occasionally when i have a slight craving for some chinese.
