After jumping off cliffs all morning, we were hankering for something hearty. Since we had gotten up at 5 a.m. to jump at sunset and it was still morning, we headed to one of the most popular breakfast spots in town--Love Muffin Cafe. Love Muffin is always busy. With its colorful graffiti art and blackboard menus, it has a lively and bustling atmosphere. Me and my friend ordered the heartiest thing on the menu that could be made vegan--the Huevos Rancheros (hold the eggs and cheddar). A pile of home fries topped with a corn tortilla, fried tofu and black beans, slathered in a red chile sauce--this meal looked much better than it tasted. The sauce was really plain and not very flavorful. We dumped a bunch of hot sauce on top and called it a day, but it didn't make the meal any better. And for $9, we expected a little bit more. To top it off, they charged me $6 for one kombucha, which is just highway robbery. This visit left a bad taste in my mouth--literally and figuratively. read more

Their cappuccino was inconsistent. I tried the mid-size on Day 1, and it was perhaps the best I've ever had. On Day 2, no such luck. Possibly because of a different barista. I had a large-size, not only was the liquid portion smaller but it was not quite as creamy as Day 1's. I know this is an unusual gripe, but I came back for second just because of Day 1. On the plus side, on both days, the cappuccino was better than the burnt version at Eklectic, as was the ambiance. read more

A breakfast so nice, we got it twice. This was the best place to fuel up before two big days of exploring natural wonders. We had chia pudding, and which came with fresh fruit, sliced almonds and a garnish of fresh mint and some local flower. The peaches were especially good. We enjoyed the Love Muffin Cafe for breakfast. The portion sizes were very large and the server was very welcoming. The only thing I would have changed is the amount of butter used on our English muffin and toast. It was a little too much for our liking, but others may prefer their toast with extra butter. While hiking in Zion some hikers recommended this spot to us when we told them we were heading to Moab, so naturally we stopped by for coffee and breakfast. I got the huevos rancheros and blueberry muffin with a latte. Did not disappoint! The coffee was so great and the muffin perfect. The eggs were smothered in the red sauce, to the point the tortilla didn't taste like a tortilla...but it was really yummy sauce so I forgive them. Husband had the bfast burrito with potatoes and chorizo - he found it was too big but tasty. Overall, lots of yummy here. read more

In Moab for Earth Day 2018. It was a gorgeous Sunday morning. After church, I searched for GF breakfast options. Love Muffin sounded promising. Found it right on main street, in the middle of Moab, few blocks from St. Pius Catholic Church. Tons of traffic in town. Big traffic. And when I say big, I mean Moab has huge trucks barreling right through this tiny town, constantly. (Local paper said Moab Travel Council has a new marketing gimmic in Denver to get even MORE tourists into this little town exploding at the seams already). Despite the stupidity and ignorance of the people managing the vulgar exploitation of this location, the Love Muffin still shines. The line was literally "out the door", but, it moved steadily. I was impressed by the fluidity of the operation from the efficient, solitary woman taking orders to the multiple, multi-tasking women expediting orders to waiting customers while also cleaning tables and assisting the kitchen. My GF Bombero burrito was delivered quickly despite the lingering line and seated crowd. When I got to my car (mouth watering) and finally opened my breakfast box, I saw a beautiful plate of perfectly braised, shredded brisket atop perfectly fluffy scrambled eggs and four healthy wedges of fresh avocado. All, of course, on a corn tortilla, just as requested. The taste? Delicious! So impressed by the quality of the food. Immensely satisfying. And, then, I noticed, not only was my to-go box eco-friendly, my fork was too. Fantastic! 5 stars easy for my first visit. I'll be back for sure, not just because of the great food & service. I mean this in the very fondest sense: the talented women of Love Muffin are gorgeous! I fell in love with the staff, then the service, then the food. Please know, these are very talented, dedicated women who obviously work very hard at creating a high-level dining experience, but who also happen to be phenomenally attractive to boot. Thank you all, chefs and back-of-house too, for a memorable, high-quality breakfast experience despite your being mobbed and stuck inside on a gorgeous, Spring Sunday morning. My boyfriend and I planned on staying in Moab for 2 days driving from Seattle to Colorado, but fell in love with it and ended up staying five. We ate at Love Muffin four times during our stay and each time was consistent and fabulous. The space is adorable with high ceilings and a good vibe mixed with locals and tourists. I so appreciated having healthy, local food while on a road trip. I was pleased to find so many great options and I love that they can make any sandwich into a salad. My favorite brekkie item was the Patatas (Spanish style potatoes with spinach and egg - I added avocado, yum!) The prices are a bit high, but that is to be expected in an adventure tourist town. My favorite sandwich was the Aubergine (vegetarian). Because it has no mayonnaise or any ingredients that would spoil in hot sun, we would get that sandwich every morning before heading to Arches, Canyonlands or Deadhorse State Park for a full day of adventure. It kept me full for most of the day and kept well while hiking. The service was always friendly and the food comes out very fast! PS: Espresso brownie = YUM! They accommodated some of my dietary needs for an extra $2. I wanted to try the quinoa breakfast bowl but it was $9, a little high for me for something I could make at home. Vegan, vegan, vegan! Now I'm not actually a vegan, but the prospect of vegan muffins is what drew me to this place (nondairy all the way!) That and the name. I mean who doesn't love muffins? Now over the course of two trips, I tried 4 vegan muffins. Pumpkin chocolate chip was AMAZING! I was less impressed with the ginger pear, good morning (carrot, apple, and spice), and double chocolate. Still good, but they don't deserve all caps. Vegan friends, turn away at this point. For my actual meals, I tried two things: Huevos rancheros and the potatas bravas, both without cheese. The Huevos rancheros was good, but those potatas bravas. Whoa. Potatoes in a secret (nondairy) bravas sauce with an oozing egg all on top of a bed of fresh spinach... heaven in my mouth. I wish I had more! The space is super cute, but man it gets crowded and busy at peak times! But even in a crowd, food comes out surprisingly quick. I will for sure eat here again on my next trip to Moab (I mean come on, I ate there two days in a row on this one!) For lunch, the Bahn Mi sandwich is sooo good!
