Went earlier this afternoon on the day I'm writing this. Had Bugolgi AP, Chefs Choice #13 (which included 5 of chefs choice with Eel and Avocado roll), and two additional rolls. 1. There was not that many people in the restaurant, maybe our table and no more than 2-3 other tables at the restaurant were taken? The server was polite and due to minimal customers in the restaurant, the service was easily accessible to us as needed (considering the fact that the time was a bit unusual at the time of ordering, so that was probably why customers were at a low). 2. The ambiance was comfortable. They had two tvs in the building in their main dining area, both of which had FIFA playing. This being my second time coming back, the first time I came was back in October, they had sports games on their tv at the time too. If you are a sports fan, may want to consider coming to watch a game 3. Pricing would be the biggest reason why I'd dock my rating. For what you're getting and what's worth the price, they're slightly steep for what you're paying. 4. No bad notes regarding their food. Their bugolgi has a lot of flavor. I've seen this place a while back when in Simi valley. Honestly there's not that many places in Simi that's a wow. Even hearing from locals. I spotted this place while picking up things from target next door a while back. The service was great, friendly staff which is great. Also, they had a deal with alcohol. Buy a bottle or saki and get the second for a penny. Win win if you like something with your meal. Menu, they do have a good selections of rolls and dishes. Ramen as well. And a good selection of combos meal with a premium roll and 5 piece of sushi. We got a selections of items to share, the bakes mussels were great. Shrimp and veggies tempura was ok, nothing major to rave about. The seafood ramen was ok, same nothing to rave about. The hand roll was good. And the sushi combo with the roll was ok as well. Hit by major bleach smell on arrival. I'm happy about cleanliness, but bleach aroma and food do not go together. Two of the three us enjoyed the light, crispy vegetable tempura batter, even it was a tad on the greasy side. Nice and hot. We ordered a variety of rolls, all quite good except the cut tuna roll which arrived with the tuna diced ala SPICY tuna roll sans the spice. I understand that prices are high, so chopping stretches the tuna or allows a lower grade to be used, but if I wanted mushy tuna, I would have ordered spicy tuna roll. That said, everything was tasty, the service was very good and friendly, and we were offered ice cream bars on the house. I didn't want to give this good restaurant three stars because of the bleach smell, so I didn't, but I don't think I can go back, either. read more

The price is expensive here, but I thought I'd give it a try, maybe the quality would make up for it. Boy was I wrong. We got a seared tuna sashimi, rainbow roll, love hand roll and a tempura hand roll. The sashimi was not fresh. The tuna was suspiciously bright red in color and tasted like nothing. Not fishy, but also not anything. The rainbow roll has an acidic sauce on it that overpowers everything, maybe that's their way to cover their subpar fish. The roll was also loosely rolled so it was falling apart. The two hand rolls were okay. They are fairly big but filled with cheap stuff like rice and imitation crab and tempura crunch bits. The tempura roll is supposed to have a tempura shrimp in it but it was more like essence of shrimp. The service was okay. Had an early dinner for my cousins birthday! Besides my family and I, there was only maybe 4 other people there. It wasn't busy at all. The lady was very nice and very quick to bring out our drinks and food. The food was delicious!!! My family comes here a lot, but this was my first time. I ordered the Heart Attack appetizer and the Thai Shrimp Tempura Roll......YUMMY! The Thai Shrimp Tempura Roll was my favorite and had coconut shrimp. I ordered edamame, shrimp tempura, an avocado roll, and a salmon cut roll and it was $39.36. Salmon cut roll was disgusting. Couldn't even eat it. I'm here with my family, been here for plenty of other occasions. My favorite roll is the Crunchy Scallop roll w a side of that spicy Mayo. Also the Jin's roll with Salmon, Shrimp, Crab Meat and Spicy Tuner. Edamame Kirin and Sapporo This place has a calm dim lit romantic atmosphere. The Icicles in almost May here made me smile. So I've been to the Love sushi in Valencia and really LOVeD it so I figure I'd try the one in Simi , came here with my girlfriend the other night . It's rather small with only about 8 to 10 booths/tables but we were seated quickly. They have 30% of regular rolls like spicy tuna or California rolls and 50% off sushi ! So we got the dynamite and cucumber salad for apps . The dynamite was pretty good and a good size . The cucumber salad not so much. The dressing they use wasn't really to my liking or my gfs. I got some tuna , yellowtail belly , and albacore sushi. It was all delicious especially the yellowtail belly it melted in my mouth and the albacore sushi was Really good as well. I ordered a spicy tuna roll too and I really enjoyed the flavor and the portion. My girlfriend got a baked scallop roll and Philadelphia roll which we both enjoyed as well. The bill came out to 55 bucks so not to bad for all the food we got. The only downfall was the service . They seemed pretty busy and we waited to get our refills and didn't get them and they basically just brought us our bill. So that's why I left 4 stars. We love ordering take out from Love Sushi but went to visit in person for the first time on Saturday because I craved Ramen. Terrible Idea. First of all the service isn't very good. We kept having to ask for help even though we were the only two people there since it was only 2:00pm. The Ramen was basically just instant noodles for $15 and when I asked if this indeed was Ramen or just Miso soup with noodles the waitress seemed super annoyed with me. I then ordered Sashimi instead thinking the right thing for her to do would be not to charge me for the Ramen as I did not eat it, but the check came and indeed she charged me for the bowl of instant noodles. This is probably our favorite sushi place in Simi. The prices are fair, food is delicious, and customer service is great! There are so many AYCE's in Simi I really thought I would never enjoy a regular sushi restaurant, but this place proved me wrong and now I rarely do AYCE. read more
