    Two Spicy Tuna Roll
    Analiea M.

This place is pretty good. I've ordered it a couples times on door dash before and they usually have a BOGO few for certain items! It makes it super affordable and worth your money. I usually do the spicy tuna roll and they always make sure I have all my utensils and condiments. The rolls are always fresh and delicious too. I'd definitely recommend.

Our hometown favorite spot for sushi. This place is right down the road from where my Dad lives, and every time I come to visit this is where we immediately go out to dinner first. The staff is super friendly. The inside is spacious, quaint, and convenient. The food is always on point and very delicious. It's a great sushi spot that you will not be disappointed in. Thank you for always having us!!

We came here for late dinner. The service here was nice and very efficient. The restaurant has tv monitors around so you can catch a sports game. The restaurant has a casual Asian ambiance with high ceilings. We ordered the sushi combo plates and a lemon drop roll. The fish was not very cold and almost a bit warm. The food was still very good. On the lemon drop roll, some lemon slices had only lemon rind on top of salmon which left the roll very bitter. We still like this place and it's a good value if you get all you can eat prices.

    Stank Hawaiian roll.. beware. Bleh.

Food is disgusting. Fish is all old and smells bad. Ordered spicy tuna (bad fish) Hawaiian roll (bad fish), yellowtail roll ( bad fish ), salmon sushi pieces ok, miso soup fine, edamame fine.

This was just our first round order

Pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant. The service was really good and food was made fresh and tasted good. There are lots of choices to chose from: rolls, nigiri, hand rolls, Korean bbq, salads, etc. Definitely worth it!!

    Caliland Baked Roll

Americanized sushi lovers...this place is for you. I'm talking baked rolls and fried things with lots of sauce. This is the place for it. Tex-Mex, but make it sushi. That kind. And for the more traditional/conservative sushi lovers, don't worry. There are plenty of menu items for you, too. I absolutely *LOVED* the decadent and heavy comfort of both the Baked Scalloped California Roll (BSCR) and the Caliland Roll. Lots of Mayo and sauce baked on top the BSCR and a decadent baked Cream Cheese topping on the Caliland roll. The rolls are huge. The BSCR also had baby shrimp on top baked with the scallops. This place not only comes for your heart, but it goes for extra credit. They even gave us free edamame while we waited for our food. Better prices compared to similar menu items at other sushi spots and LOTS of available parking. Just marvelous. I don't have to go into detail. You know what time it is.

Great sushi restaurant!! Must stop by if you're in the area. Quick service and very clean. Our waitress was friendly and answered all the questions we had about the menu. My son's favorite dish was the muscles. 10/10.

Surprisingly a great find! My family is big on AYCE because of the sushi we prefer. We tried this place and we found it to be excellent. The fish was fresh and food quality was very good. Service was quick and efficient! The options were amazing! We will be back! Highly recommend!

My fiancé and I were looking for AYCE sushi while we stayed at the courtyard marriot. Unbeknownst to us, it was in the same plaza! Lunch was $36 I believe and dinner was I think $40. I do remember the sashimi price for AYCE was like $45-46. We thought the quality was great for AYCE. Their shrimp tempura was also AMAZING. We love that you can try their specialty rolls and it's a half order. They also offer so many types of speciality rolls like no rice. Recommendations: We really liked the roll that had lemon slices on top of tuna. Their salmon skin hand roll was lots of salmon skin - yum! We tried their tuna, salmon, yellowtail, peppered tuna, peppered salmon. I would highly recommend their peppered options if you like a little char taste. Would come back if we're ever in the area craving sushi!

Should have read the reviews and not just looked at the 4.5 stars and yelp pictures (which do not reflect what you really get). Would give zero stars if I could but I'll give the service the one star because it was good. The servers were friendly and attentive but the food was terrible. We ordered all you can eat which is usually lower quality but this was bad! Everything smelled fishy, and tasted overly fishy. The imitation crab was burnt on top of the baked rolls. The albacore sushi was dry and tasted terrible. All the rolls tasted the same. Edamame's weren't even good. Miso was ok. Tempura shrimp was not made with tempura batter. The only "good" thing was the green tea ice cream - but it's hard to mess that up. Not with $40 per person. Hoping this doesn't make me sick

This would be my second updated review of this place. I have visited Dake sushi in the past, and I hope my predictions do not come true. Why is it that many sushi places, especially ones that offer AYCE only good when they just opened? After that, there seems to be less effort; you're not even trying anymore. Opted for dinner, the premium selection is $45.00 per person. Here is why I gave them a one-star review: - Shrimp tempura appetizer was deep-fried in a breadcrumb batter; everyone knows that shrimp tempura is fried in tempura batter! What happened? Are you out of tempura batter along the way? It's very tough and dry... - The uni sushi tasted old and not fresh; they should take this off the menu; this is the same as the last time I visited this place. Was it taken out of the freezer? - The quail egg shooter is terrible; it was drenched in soy sauce and didn't look appetizing. - The worst offender is the imitation crab; for some reason, tonight, across different rolls, they have this "cheesy" taste, almost like cream cheese. I do not think that it is cream cheese; the crab meat was getting bad. I would not be coming back here for sure; too bad, Dake sushi; you could have at least tried to maintain the quality...

The mango or orange roll was not good at all. The lemon one was okay if you take the thick, drenched lemon slice off.

We tried the Red Dragon roll, California hand roll with soy paper, Albacore delight sushi and a Bento box with Teriyaki chicken sashimi. I came to Hikari Sushi with my sister and a friend, and when my sister's roll was brought to the table, there was a fly sitting directly on the sushi. We immediately pointed it out to the waitress. Instead of apologizing, she casually told us that there are "always flies in the restaurant," as if that somehow made the situation acceptable. She did replace the roll, but brought out an entirely different roll than the one my sister originally ordered. When my sister politely explained that it wasn't the correct item, the waitress argued with her and insisted that she "should have been more specific" because there are multiple versions of a Dragon Roll. Rather than simply acknowledging the mistake and correcting it, she continued debating with the customer before eventually bringing the correct order. As frustrating as the experience itself was, what happened afterward was even more disappointing. My sister left a review describing exactly what occurred, and instead of taking responsibility or apologizing, the owner publicly claimed that the fly landed on the roll before it reached our table and that the waitress had already replaced it before it was served. That is simply not what happened. The roll with the fly was served directly to our table. How would we see the fly if the roll was never served to us?? Makes absolutely no sense. We all saw it. Otherwise, there would've been nothing for us to point out. Everyone makes mistakes. A fly can get into a restaurant despite a business's best efforts. What determines good customer service is how those mistakes are handled. In this case, there was no genuine apology, unnecessary arguing with a customer over an incorrect replacement order, and then a public response that completely contradicted what we personally experienced instead of accepting responsibility. The lack of accountability was far more disappointing than the original mistake. I hope the restaurant takes customer concerns more seriously in the future and understands that honesty and accountability go a long way toward rebuilding trust.

This reservation took a full year to secure and I would gladly wait another year to experience it again. The hardest reservation in Ventura County? Without a doubt. Worth it? He is warm yet serious, focused yet playful and his dishes speak volumes. Every bite is layered with personality and skill. On the night we came in, my dearest friend Leslie and I had the entire restaurant to ourselves. I can't explain how we had an entire seating to just us but it was magical and intimate. We dinned on 18 courses, each one a surprise more delicious than the last. You just sit back and the chef chooses each bite for you. We've never had octopus so impossibly tender it melted in our mouths. Ice cold sake, warm fish soup, literally I could go on and on about this meal. Choosing favorites feels almost wrong because every course was exceptional, but if forced, the Santa Barbara uni on wagyu, Japanese scallop, Sea bream, and Toro with uni were some of the most impressive and unforgettable bites I've ever had. Never did I imagine that the best sushi I've ever experienced in Ventura County would be found in Simi Valley, but here we are. What an absolute treasure this city holds. There was not that many people in the restaurant, maybe our table and no more than 2-3 other tables at the restaurant were taken? The server was polite and due to minimal customers in the restaurant, the service was easily accessible to us as needed (considering the fact that the time was a bit unusual at the time of ordering, so that was probably why customers were at a low). 2.
