This was the first time I went to this nail salon. It was close to my home so I decided to give it a try. I was greeted at the door by the manager. A young lady then escorted me to the pedicure room to get a polish change on my toenails. First impressions the salon was clean but not fancy, which was fine with me. Holly did a good job on my toes and told me to stay in the pedicure room while she put my finger nails in a bowl of acetone, I was in an awkward position while both hands were in the bowl. I waited about 45 minutes while Holly did someone else's nails. The owner came to me and escorted me to the manicure area. Holly told me the lady next to me was all most finished, well I waited almost 30 minutes until the manager came to me and said he would do my nails. No apologies,no water, nothing. This is not the way to handle a customer. I must say my nails were done well but I will not be returning. I would not recommend this salon. read more

I had a fill I'm and pedicure. Girl rushed through pedicure and the owner was yelling at the young girls the whole time. But she did ok for the bs she was getting. Filling was not good at all nails are uneven. Old polish wasn't all taken off and either was the orange he accidentally put on instead of blue. He can't do designs. 2 stars are for the girls doing pedicure that were getting fussed at. Customers use translation ear buds now. read more

I got a dip manicure from here Friday and asked ahead of time if they could do them. I wish they would've pushed me away from getting them because not even 4 days later and they have cracks in them and the tips of my nails look chipped. I'm not hard on my hands nor do I excessively wash. I've had them from another place last 3 weeks. The color is also uneven near my cuticles. They are super nice and a pleasure to be around but I'm disappointed and won't go back. I'm crying and really upset about my experience today. I've been a regular, always scheduling my appointment, paying customer there for years. Not just manicures but I've gotten pedicures and eyebrow waxing too many times to count. In the middle of my manicure with James, he abruptly gets up and another person sits down and takes his place with my nails. I DIDN'T know her. He DIDN'T say anything. He just started working on the customers hands behind me. When asked, James said "She (the other mail tech) needed me to do a fireworks design on her customer's nails". My mom asked Tom what was happening. Tom said "sometimes someone will need help and they step in to help the customer." But what am I. I'm a CUSTOMER too! I'm in the middle of MY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT! Why not tell the other nail tech that you'll be able to help her when you're finished with YOUR OWN CUSTOMER? Why NOT TREAT ALL CUSTOMERS RESPECTFULLY. They tossed me aside to take care of someone different. I continued crying, paid my bill, did not tip, and left. I'll never go back. read more

I just moved to Irmo from Washington State 6 months ago... this is a crucial detail for this story: When I moved to Irmo I needed to find a new nail salon. I was referred to Lovely Nails. Over the past 6 months I've gotten my nails done there several times. It was nothing extraordinary but it was close to my house, fast, affordable and gave me what I was asking for. Up until the last time I was there I would have likely given them 4, maybe even 5, stars. Why not? It was exactly what I expected from a nail salon of this caliber. However, during my last service there was an incident I feel you should know about before spending your money there. As mentioned above, I recently moved here from Western Washington. A few times in my visits to LN I was paired up with a man who works there. We have chatted about how I am from Washington. He mentioned to me that he has family in Washington. The last time he was my nail technician I mentioned the fact that Washington, specifically Seattle, is expensive. I told him that I had seen people move to Tacoma, a city south of Seattle, in large numbers to escape the rising cost of living in the city. Tacoma has a lot of wonderful features, including being quite diverse for Washington State. When I mentioned Tacoma, this man shook his head and said, VERBATIM: Tacoma? Too many Black people. So anyway, if you're looking for a nail shop that delivers the same results as pretty much any shop across the country and don't mind some racism with your fill, I'd definitely recommend Lovely Nails. read more

I was recommend this nail salon and my experience was actually very awful. they take literally forever on nails for them to turn out awful. I went here thinking I'd be in and out how I am with the one nail salon I'm very consistent with and does an amazing job and I drove 30 minutes out of my way to be disappointed By their work, I've asked for a refund even if it was only half of the refund and not the full amount I paid for and they were extremely disrespectful and had a very high tone with me for their awful work. I had asked for square and short and they aren't straight they are bumpy and is not the shape for square and they also have stuff under the gel polish and I'm highly disappointed. They want to fix my nails instead of refund me my money back but why would I allow someone to work on my nails again who took up half my day and time and did an awful job the first time! I went there on Saturday, March 12. Wanted a gel manicure, but was told dip was better. Both my sister and daughter (they both live in different states) have been doing dip manicures and it looked good and lasted at least 2 weeks. So I decided to go for the dip manicure. By Wednesday, March 16, every time I ran my fingers thru my hair, my hair was catching on my nails. I looked at my nails and the color has started to lift away from my nails. I called the next day, Thursday and was told to come in and they will fix it. By Friday night, the last of the color had lifted and my nails looked worse than ever. I'm not sure I want to go back, but I will and give them a chance to redeem themselves. Btw, I paid $40 and tipped $10 because it looked nice at that point. Not good I've come before and it was great. I recommended them to other people and after today I will never come back. I have never experienced such bad customer service. They did my nails 2 weeks ago and told me they would last 1 month. They started coming off within the last week. So I came today and they redid them and then charged me $40 I decided I wasn't okay with that and told him I wanted my money back and told him to take off my nails. He then went off on me telling me he spent all this time and he would take them off but wouldn't give me my money back. And then said he would give me $20 back and stuck it out at me. The pedicure took at least 45 minutes(Which isn't typical). He took his time! He didn't rush! I was able to enjoy my pedicure and not feel as if I was being rushed out. The atmosphere is very clean & quiet which I love! Everyone is friendly here! I pay the same prices for a pedicure that I would normally pay at my previous nail salon but the service here is OUTSTANDING! I 100% recommended to anyone that wants to feel relaxed. Not rushed. I normally don't switch up nail salons but I had a meeting at my job where the salon was extremely close to so i decided to give it a try. I'll start off by saying I arrived at the salon a few minutes after they opened which is 9:30 and did not leave until 10:50. I would not mind spending that amount of time at the salon if the service i received was up to par. I left with completely uneven nails and the sides of my nails were botched. I called the salon later to explain I was dissatisfied and they offered for me to come back but honestly i was unsure if i would just waste even more time going back for them to fix my nails. I ended up having to go to another salon to fix them. It seems they do a good job on natural nails but if you want any type of long acrylic nails, please find another salon to go to. read more

I came here because I had been in the past and was pleased with the service. That was nit the case, however, today, as my experience was horrible. Upon arrival, I had to wait 1 hr due to the salon being short staffed, which was understandable. Finally, when Jim seated me and began I requested the dip manicure and a luxury pedicure. When dipping, I noticed that he was missing the sides if my nails, so I asked him to add powder there. He was very aggravated and said that after everything was done if I still wasn't happy with it I could get it touched up because it usually looks good in the end. I said ok and asked for a paper towel to clean my hands, since i had blue powder on my hands and was wearing a white dress. He angrily shoved a paper towel in my face as if it was a difficult request. He then hurried me over to the pedicure section. Linda hurrily worked on my nails while Lily worked on my feet. I mentioned to Linda what Jim had told me about being able to get it fixed afterwards. Linda hurrily finished and took off to the next customer. She had told me that they were short staffed. When done, Lily walked me over to the drying station and asked for the payment. I told her that I wanted them to fix my nails and that I didn't like them. She simply ignored me. I went ahead and payed, but decided to leave a review about my experience. I have never been treated like this and the service I received today was horrible. Each customer deserves to be treated fairly regardless of whether they are short staffed or not. I chose this nail salon based on the reviews that came up under Apple Maps. This nail salon has had 4 stars while the majority of others in the area had 3. I called ahead to make an appointment and this place was very accommodating. That's the only plus! The guy doing my pedicure ripped a part of my nail off and 2 days later there's puss coming out of it. While getting my dip powder manicure done the guy asked me if I wanted tips or not. The owner came over and said "your nails are strong, you don't need tips." Which I agreed with. One day after, and 2 of my nails had already chipped. Dip usually lasts me around 3 weeks, not to mention there was polish all over my cuticles... I could've done better. I debated on wether or not to go back, but my nails needed to be fixed and I wasn't going to go to a different salon less than a week after the fact and pay full price. So I called prior to returning and explained how I had gotten dip powder from there 3 days and ago and my nails were already chipping. They said to come in and they'd take a look. Once I got there I reiterated this to the girl at front desk. She asked if I just wanted the nails that were chipping redone or all of them. I said all of them considering at this point 3 of my nails had already chipped. Another guy did my manicure this go around and suggested tips since clearly my nails weren't that strong. He did a better job than the first guy, and from a far they look good. However, he cut my pinky finger and made it bleed, and the top, and side of the nails are very uneven. They then proceeded to charge me an additional $50!!! I'm usually not this picky, and I hardly leave reviews but do not let the 4 stars fool you! This place sucks! read more

Been going to this Nail Shop for many years. Have not had a reason to complain. Michael does my nails. Mostly toes as I like to dig in my garden. Fingernails would not last for that reason. I am a gardener at heart and love my pretty flowers. But I like my toe nails to be done for that reason. Tom and Rose are always welcoming and you get a smile and hello from everyone here. Oh my YES!!!! I'm sitting in my massage chair getting a pedicure and it's AMAZING! I got the $35 one. The massage chair is sooo lovely. There have been scrubs, 2-3 creams, hot towels and My favorite...HOT STONE MASSAGE!!!! He's massage my feet, not rushed and it's been so relaxing that I've almost fallen asleep. All for $35 dollars???? Wow!!! I am visiting family here in SC and in Maryland where I lived this would have been a $60 pedi!!! You Must try this place!! I got there at 2:00 for my appointment there was only 4-5 people working on the shop mind you it is a small place, but I made an appointment and believed I would be seen right away. There were 2 people already being seen for pedicure and another woman waiting to be seen, they told me and the woman to go to pedicure chair and wait I said that was fine I would love to soak my feet. They didn't give me any water to soak my feet I watched for 20 mins two people get a pedicure then they took the other lady to do her nails. Then someone who was doing their nails went to a pedicure chair and -- the lady doing the pedicure was rushing to give her water to soak her feet like omg really!!! So I got out of there.... will never go again. The bathroom was gross looking as well.
