I always come here when it's time for my annual hair chop. They're quick and knowledgeable. I typically show them a picture of what I'm looking for and they'll ask any clarifying questions to help pinpoint the exact look down. They are mindful about the length of hair they cut off. Haircut is $30. There are only 2 ladies working here so it's best to get an appointment by calling or texting. read more

I've been going to Lovely's Salon for a while now to get my haircut every 6 months. I always ask for the same - long layers, U-shaped in the back, face framing pieces, and no thinning. Both ladies are super nice and always give me exactly what I want. They get me out in less than an hour. I just went to Lovely's Salon for the first time today and I will definitely be coming back! When I walked in both stylists were so friendly right from the beginning. My stylist was Cô Thoa, she asked for pictures of what I wanted and she followed through with everything I asked for and I left with hair that looked exactly how I hoped. I've been to Lovely's Salon twice now- once for a haircut and highlights (which lasted 6 months, super natural grow-out and easy maintenance) and once for a haircut and balayage touch up on top of the old highlights (pictured). I'm absolutely in LOVE with the balayage and have gotten tons of compliments. The entire process took less than 1.5 hours as well, including the blowout. I'd recommend bringing a couple of clear images to visually show what you have in mind. Thoa and Kim are both super friendly and efficient! The atmosphere is chill and pretty clean. Scheduling is done via phone call, and you can typically get an appointment within 1-2 days of the call (or same day if you're feeling spontaneous). I plan to keep coming here- for the quality and speed of work, the pricing is reasonable, and Thoa sometimes offers discounts for touch-ups. Come check it out! read more

Thoa is amazing at giving my hair a fresh, updated look every time I come in for a cut. She's quick but never rushed and I can get a wash, cut, and style done in under 40 minutes and always look completely put together when I leave. I love how she styles my hair too. She only uses the tiniest drop of heat protector oil, but whatever she does is pure magic. My hair always looks shiny, healthy, and vibrant, and I leave so happy with the result. Found Co Thoa from Yelp and she fit me in her schedule next day. She was very nice communicating via text even before meeting and very nice in person. I used a box dye that only lightened my roots. She had to bleach my brown-black hair a couple rounds and then dyed it into the light-medium brown color that I showed her in photos. The end result was exactly as I wanted. Color looked even and thank goodness it wasn't brassy or yellow. Will come back again! read more

The best hairstylists in the area. I've been going to them for 10+years. They always tell you if the hairstyles/color you choose, would look good on you. They always say they can only match 80% of the color you choose but it always turns out perfectly. I've done all the colors there are in the rainbow for my hair at this salon. Came here last week for an impromptu haircut. Only costs $30 if you only want a cut with no hair wash, then specialize in hair coloring but I did not get that. If you want to get your hair washed in addition to the cut, it's $40 cash. Was able to get same day appointment! read more

I have never loved my hair as much as I did after Co Thoa cut and colored my hair. In early December, I found her salon and had her do my hair for the first time. Before then, the only place that I liked that did my hair was in Korea in 2019. Co Thoa cut, bleached, colored, treated, shampooed, and styled my hair with ease, explained the whole process to me, and was super kind and accommodating. She and Co Kim even stayed after their hours just a bit to make sure my hair was perfect, to which I appreciated so much. I love that I can easily have conversations with them both during my visits. This last time I went, I just wanted to cut my hair because my hair had grown long and was annoying to deal with (my hair naturally gets tangled easily, but she offered to tone and treat my hair before my vacation so I said why not? I didn't have enough cash but Co Thoa said she'd do my hair, wait for me to come back with more cash, and we did just that! She cut, toned, treated, shampooed, and curled my hair -- she was super attentive, accommodating, and efficient. She asked questions, knew exactly what I wanted, and performed just that! It was my first time toning my hair so I didn't really know how it would go, but she made it look absolutely amazing. Somehow in artificial and dim lighting, my hair looked ash blonde and was more beautiful than I thought I'd look in that color. In natural and brighter/warmer lighting, my hair had streaks of golden brown. I don't know how she did that but she's a wizard and I love it. Her salon is also always so well-kept and clean, including the bathroom. Co Thoa makes me feel welcomed and styles my hair in a way that makes me more confident ahout my self-image. The prices are also honestly not bad for the quality of work and materials used. I think I've finally found my go-to hair stylist! read more

I had the worst experience at this salon today. My hair was already damaged when I went in, but they managed to make it worse. What's frustrating is that they could have been honest and told me my hair might not hold up during the process and for me to do a haircut only. Instead, they reassured me the entire time that "everything looked fine," even though it clearly wasn't. Near the end when they were blow-drying my hair, I noticed it looked super short, thin, and blotchy. That's when it hit me that I'd been gaslighted into thinking my hair looked good this whole time. Their sudden shift to being overly nice and showering me with compliments felt off, especially compared to how quiet they were earlier. It felt shady how they were acting. They were trying to sugarcoat things and distract me from their mistakes. For instance, they kept asking me about my skincare but for them to mention it so many times makes me feel stupid now that I found out they ruined my hair. When I expressed my concerns, they dismissed them, insisting my hair wasn't damaged and claiming, "We might have cut it too short." The color was a disaster. My hair had blotchy red ends, despite their earlier reassurances that they had "gotten rid of the red." I realized later that their repeated cutting was an attempt to remove the red ends, though they claimed it was because my hair was "dead." The result? My hair is now choppy, uneven, and much shorter than I wanted, barely reaching my shoulders. They kept fluffing out my hair, likely trying to hide the sparseness and the fact that the top of my hair looks balding. Adding to the absurdity, they offered to curl or straighten my hair afterward, even after all the damage it had already taken. I was already terrified watching them blow-dry my hair on high heat--I didn't need them making it worse with more heat styling. They kept lecturing me about how box dyeing hair at home was terrible and damaging. Yet here I was, sitting in their chair while they damaged my hair just as badly, if not worse. For a professional salon, this was unacceptable. When I told them I didn't like it, I was in tears. I felt completely empty and lifeless, even as they tried to reassure me. I didn't react or say anything back because I was so upset and lost. They offered to add toner to fix the color, but by then, I knew nothing could salvage what was left. I cried with a snotty runny nose in the salon chair, in my car, and on the way home--and probably will again whenever I look in the mirror. The process itself was sloppy and uncomfortable. Bleach and treatments dripped onto my face into my eyes and mouth and clothes because they soaked my hair instead of keeping it damp. For a salon with such high Yelp ratings, I'm baffled at the lack of professionalism. I had shown them an inspiration picture multiple times, but the final result was the complete opposite. I came in wanting lighter, healthier-looking hair, and I left with darker or almost the same color, choppy, over-processed hair. A waste of time. It's so bad I feel ashamed to take photos or be in family pictures during the holidays (I'm heading to Hawaii for Christmas and Maryland for New Years to visit my sister). This was supposed to be a time of celebration, but instead, I feel lost, depressed, and incredibly insecure about my appearance. To anyone considering this salon: Don't be fooled by the high ratings or cheap prices. The quality is not there, and honesty from the staff is clearly lacking. My once long hair is now unrecognizable, and I'll be dealing with the aftermath for who knows how long. Ending the year with the worst hair of my life and starting the new year with it as well. A truly UNlovely experience. From the photos you can see how uneven my hair looks as if a chunk of my hair got pulled out and the white dead tips stand out so much more. read more

Every haircut I have gotten here has been great. It's only $30 (with tip $35) for haircut without shampoo, so it makes it affordable to get more haircuts throughout the year (even for a trim) to look more put together. The store is appointment-only so they keep the door locked at other times. Make sure to call beforehand. read more

I'm not always very on top of…read moreit; it's recommended you do it every 3-4 (preferably 3) months or else you risk banding (uneven/patchy bleaching) due to your growth being uneven (the line where your bleach ends and virgin hair starts only stays straight for about 3 months). It also makes it harder for your stylist(s) to touch it up. With all of this in mind, Huy has been nothing but accommodating towards me--even the times I've returned to him with 4+ months worth of growth. My hair is naturally a level 1-2 and my goal is a level 9-10 pale blond... not easy to achieve. I had to go through 3 before I found Blue Sky Hair. Don't be discouraged by any negative reviews you might see. English isn't their native language, but they will try their utmost best to accommodate for you and communicate with you. They are experts at their craft and I am lucky to have found them.

I went there yesterday and showed her a picture of how I'd like my hair. She informs me that my hair can't achieve that color exactly and also adding that I complain. Please. Let's pull up our whole chat here if we need to. I understood that 1000% as she kept repeating herself speaking condescendingly as if I'm not understanding. The thing is she wasn't understanding me. I then asked her her opinion on what would be the best option to go with in order to get it as close ( not that I was going to follow what she says I just wanted to see what her opinions were from a professional stand point) she then turned me away and canceled on me. Alright, cool. I get it. I can respect a business owners decision as they have the right to turn down any services, I still tipped her 80$ for taking off my extensions for me not that I had a lot left on my hair. I'm not that kind of person. however again I really frkn wish she could've asked me these questions over the phone so I didn't have to waste my time driving back and forth. And i am so happy that I decided to do so. Nancy did my Brazilian and was very detail oriented and quick. She used the hot wax and paper method with small sections. I appreciate the small sections she did! The salon it self was very inviting, beautiful, and relaxing. They offer other services like body and scalp massages, mani and pedis, and even lash extensions and semi permanent makeup. Cannot wait to schedule my next session!
