I like it a LITTLE more than the previous reviewer. For toys and such, definitely stick to Babeland on Capitol Hill. However, for "stripper wear", this is the place. If you want to spice up your personal life, go to an R-rated costume party (although there's some NC-17 stuff too!) or buy a bachelorette party gift, the 2nd floor is the place, for sure! The Tukwila store is delightful! This is where I discovered the DONNA JO line of bath and beauty products. I have been collecting the entire line of aphrodisiac-infused products ever since! They are absolutely luxurious and I can only ever find them inside lovers stores. Granted, I only ever shop at the Tukwila store! I have always steered clear of intimacy shops because they looked cagey from the outside. The lovers chain has always been a step up because they are so open. But the Tukwila location is the only one I go to now! It has three floors that focus on different areas of the bedroom (upstairs for vids and furniture, ground floor is clothing and accessories, and bottom floor is for lubes, toys, and fetish gear). Everything is ALWAYS clean and appealing, well stocked with a variety, the floor plan is spacious, and the employees are a great mix of playful- but not creepy!! If I had a complaint it's that there are time when I feel like I can't shop on my own because an associate is always right theeeere. But I do understand. I'm sure they deal with a lot of theft and they want to be proactive about shrink. Overall I come here for any product my husband and I desire and I enjoy the trip. Remember when this place was Amore On The Blvd? I used to frequent this place and the 2nd floor throughout my college years for trashy fun lingerie. I hadn't been in years but on a rainy dreary Seattle night without anything else going when it was suggested taking a jaunt here. When have you ever heard a girl turn down shopping, especially when she gets to bring a rabbit home. ;) I am a Babeland fanatic all the way. However, this place did me well last week. I was looking for a new rabbit to add to the ranch back home. This place hands down has the largest rabbitry to pick from. I personally like the table where you can stroke and pet the rabbits to see their individual temperaments. You have to make sure the personality of the rabbit fits the owner, and this petting zoo of sorts helps with this. All this is nice and all but they key to my shopping experience can be described in one word, Heidi. She was amazing. She sought me out took my hand and said no darling you don't want that, you want THIS! This went on until I had $200 in fun in my black shopping bag. Now I am not going to tell you everything she steered me to and I doubt you want to know. However, if you are a female looking for a new B.O.B. or more specifically new rabbit, there is a new rabbit in town that is like nothing I have ever seen or experienced. It's red, it's a $140, and it has a porn star on the front that you will surely recognize. This rabbit has a bird for a friend and when you see it you will understand, don't be hesitant, don't gawk at the price, just buy it. It's amazing! If you go ask for Heidi she is very knowledgable in all of their merchandise! So helpful, comfortable, funny, and everything a sex store employee should be. She even signed me up for the Lovers card and I saved 25%. Pretty awesome in my book. It's like the Safeway Club Card for a sex shop. So Babeland is still my favorite. But Lovers will still be my number one place to go for fun wearable trashiness and of course their rabbitry. My experience at this Lovers location was great! The staff was professional and not pushy with sales the way that some stores can be. One of my favorite things about this store is how the lingerie is on the first level of the store and then toys, porn, etc. are on other levels. I really liked that everything was separated. They have a great selection of so many different items. My partner and I were looking for one item in particular and the associate was very helpful and understood our needs when it comes to toys. I felt very comfortable and it wasn't awkward like my experiences in other sex stores have been in the past. After my lovely taco truck torta we headed south with no where in mind to go. He mentioned going to Southcenter I joked about going to Lover's (I'm not a fan of Southcenter mall). We ended up going to Lover's which use to be Amour on the Boulevard. It's a three story, stand alone, non-descript building that you see when you exit I-5 going south at the Southcenter exit. I'd been there many times to get items for bachlorette parties he'd never been. We walk in on the second floor and are greeted by a perky sales lady informing us that there is now a museum on the third floor along with the novelty items and video's. We head up stairs to check out the museum and what a dud that was just a small section with some pictures, news paper articles and a timeline, too much reading I wasn't interested in. While on the third flood we checked out the novelty items and videos but nothing caught my eye so we headed down to the first floor where the toys and 'fetish' gear is. They had a pretty wide and diverse selection of 'toys' and a table with toys you could 'handle' and me being one of those kids who pushes all the buttons in the toy store that says 'try me' on it I turned all the toys on it was fun, the boy kept his hands in his pockets and walked away. There was only one thing in the store that caught my eye, it was down on the first floor, a black leather paddle with Bitch in red leather on it, unfortunately the boy didn't like it so it stayed there. On the second flood they have their 'clothes' and 'romance' items nothing too exciting. Over all I'd say this is the suburban housewife sex shop, it's very bright and clean and sterile inside not dirty or disgusting like the movies make sex shops appear to be. There's the toys, then the clothes and the movies. It's amazing, sooo much to look at! They have a great layout and friendly staff. Soon My Sister would be heading out of town to visit her Bestie on the East Coast. Now I'm sure at first the visit would be bitter sweet because my Sister just found out the day she flies in, her beastie's husband was flying out for deployment. They are very much still newlyweds & haven't been away from one another like that since they tied the night. My Sister thought it would be a good idea to buy/surprise her with a brand new, not so intimidating, starter vibrator so that she could have some fun (hopefully) while her husband was away. My Sister & I did our best at trying to pick out a vibrator that didn't look toooooooo scurry. We spent some time in the store, giggling, browsing, etc. I even took it as far as trying this sample for your va-jayjay on the inside of my lips. Its suppose to be like a shockingly crazy vibrations on your lips. At first i felt nothing & was like yea OK!... oh boy why did I say that because this lube had kicked into full gear. It was so crazy feeling.. I thought I had put a mini bullet in the inside of my lip. It was sooo distracting that I couldn't even hold a conversation with my Sister. Talk about that shit cray! I'm not sure what happened but after the magical lube being on the inside of my lips for a few minutes, things started to feel weird. My whole body went into a hot flash & I didn't like it. I had to head out the door for some fresh air. Once i was outside for a little while... i started to also feel nausea. Ugh, things were NOT going well for me at all. I didn't like it one bit. So i stayed outside & just tried to take deep breaths as my poor tummy was getting upset by the second. Whew finally felt better enough to return back inside the store. At this point my Sister was at the register with the Sales Associate. It was very sweet of her to ask me if everything was OK. She also shared with me that she felt bad that my body reacted to the sample like that. I told her that I appreciate her concern & I think everything will be OK. I told her we just have weak stomachs & the fact that mine was empty, probable wasn't siting well with the lube that I had just sampled. My Sister was finally ready to check out & asked the associate if she had selected a good vibrator for a first timer. The associate was awesome at keeping it real with telling my Sister that she hadn't selected the best brand that she could. She also told her that the one she selected tends to break down and or erode batteries. She inquired if it was OK to show my Sister a way better quality vibrator for the same price range that she was already in. I thought that was awesome for her to do that. She was also wonderful at explaining the care of the vibrator , what to do/what no to do.. etc. I was really digging her customer service. At check out she assisted my Sister with signing up for the updated version of their coupon cards or club that you can register for. She made sure my Sister got all her points for the transaction. She informed her about the first Tuesdays of the month & how your points are tripled, I believe. She also provided us a coupon for some lubes, a newsletter about a Valentines day event they are having after hours, sample lubes, & other coupons. The visit was great!! I have been to several Lovers locations. Good service with friendly and knowledgeable people seems to be the standard. Always be candid about what you want and why---most sales associates have tried a wide variety of the products they sell and give great feedback, along with saving you time searching on your own. The stuff in here isn't the worst, I had a fun time looking around. The reason I only gave two stars is because one of the staff was following us around the whole time and looking over our shoulders making me feel really uncomfortable. Multiple times she asked if there was anything she could do for us, not in a helpful way, more in a way to let us know she had her eye on us. Eventually, around the time we were ready to check out, we over heard her calling security to come down. So we went up to the register and payed. It was a really awful exsperience and I'm not sure why she was being so rude and thought that we were stealing. I had every intention to pay and was even holding my wallet in my hand the entire time. I've been to this store a few times. The sales associates are pleasant and helpful. I was in on Sunday hanging out with my boyfriend to see if there was any lingerie that we might enjoy for me. Unfortunately (surely because Valentine's Day is around the corner) the selection wasn't a lot. The sales lady told me they expect a shipment on Monday and to return Tuesday to see what else is out. I didn't get a chance on Tuesday, so I went on Wednesday. Most Plus Size girls will likely be satisfied - and normal sized girls. I'm a weird size that is somewhere between a XL and a 1X. Unfortunately when I went they didn't have anything in a 1X for me to try and typically it's hard to find something to support my top in a simple XL. I did manage to find an XL piece which the top portion is good for ANY size bust. Big or small. It caught my eye first, so I saved it for last and it was the winner. I can't give any rating on the porn simply because it does nothing for me, so I don't look. However, I know a variety of people who often find what they are looking for. Friendliness and knowledge of staff: 5 stars Selection of clothes: 4 stars Also, I have never been to any of their other locations (many of which are closer to me) because I just moved here and this is the one my boyfriend has taken me to. So.... coolest Lover's store EVER! Employees are incredibly nice and helpful, they taught my boyfriend how to properly lace a corset! Also, great selection of clothes and fetish gear, admittedly there could be a wider selection of fetish gear, but there's only so much room for toys i suppose. We managed to find 2 outfits that I feel wonderful in, and sometimes its hard for me to feel sexy at all, so that's pretty cool :) Heading back in on Monday to get the second one, also, loved the toys and the shoes selection, the gun platforms I got last night really got my boyfriend's motor running.
