Staff is also very kind and welcoming. In terms of interior and environment, I love the set up. However, staff and owners should keep up with cleanliness. I checked out this spot after having dinner next door at Akashiro, so it was a nice treat that this spot was next door. I like that the parking is also close by as well, being in Downtown Fullerton. Love the vibes at this cafe. Great for studying and/or working. I stopped in for a matcha cloud to save for the next day so that I can enjoy while I work from home. The barista was sweet and answered all of my questions about their menu. When I was getting ready to drink it the next day, it kept its shape well. The cloud stayed on top of the coconut juice. Bottom Line Up Front: Lovetta Coffee is offers a wide range of quality java, teas, and baked goods in a cozy setting. Is it a little expensive? Sure. Is its products tasty and high quality? Absolutely. The Drinks: After perusing the menu (which has more than a few options), I zeroed in on the Cola Espresso because of its uniqueness. It features sprinkling water, two shots of espresso, and Lovetta's house-made cola syrup. It didn't taste like a Coke mixed with a black coffee because the cola syrup had more of a root beer base with a strong citrus aftertaste. As unusual as that is, I quite enjoyed it. Meanwhile, my wife ordered the Earl Grey Matcha, which had a perfect blend of both distinct flavors. I'm not a big Earl Grey guy, but I thought it was good. My wife loved it. The Food: I couldn't resist getting a dessert, so I purchased the churro cookie. It was a firm, yet soft cinnamon sugar cookie with a sweet chocolate center. It was delicious and nearly flawless. I say "nearly" because it was just one cookie for a whopping $4.50. Ouch. The Pricing: So, yeah, Lovetta is not cheap. The Cola Espresso was $7 while the Early Grey Matcha was $7.25. Two drinks and a cookie for basically $20. The Setting: Lovetta is located in the heart of Downtown Fullerton in a building shared with a FedEx/Kinko's, Wahoo's Fish Taco and Sunny Tea Studio. The front entrance faces busy Chapman Avenue near Harbor Boulevard. There's no street parking in that area (or extremely limited) so I drove to the rear where there's a bank parking lot and a public parking structure. I parked in the latter for fear of getting towed in the former. Even for a Saturday evening, there were several spaces open in the structure, though the slots are a little more narrow than I'd like. Inside the cafe, it's not huge, but there are several tables and counterspace for studying or hanging out in small groups (4 or fewer is most ideal). It was clean and well organized. The Service: Our barista was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and honest with her recommendations. Though she was working solo, she still made our drinks relatively quickly. The Conclusion: Lovetta Coffee might be a little on the pricey side, but makes up for it in high-quality beverages and pastries, customer service, and a clean cozy atmosphere. My true rating is 4.5 out of 5, but since I can't give half-stars here, I'm rounding up due to the hospitality of the staff. I will definitely return to try more of the menu. read more

Blueberry and hojicha is one of the best flavor pairings I've tried here. I've been leaning toward hojicha lately since matcha feels too intense for me. This drink hits a great balance. It has a noticeable caffeine kick, but the energy feels calm. No jittery feeling, or feeling like I'm bouncing off the walls. The flavor stands out. The blueberry adds a light sweetness that pairs well with the roasted, nutty hojicha. If you're sensitive to caffeine, this is one of the best drinks to go for. Lovetta was recommended to me by a friend, so I had to give it a try! When you enter, you immediately feel welcome in. It's busy but not overcrowded. Lots of students but there were all age groups. I loved that there is a good amount of seating both inside and out. On a warm day like today, I was grateful for the indoor cool atmosphere. I love that there is a visual menu. It was honestly hard for me to decide what to order. Everything looked and sounded so good! I went for the Horchata Iced Latte and I was blown away by the espresso flavor. Other *cough* chain *cough* places you can barely taste the coffee. The Horchata Latte has a smooth creamy flavor with that rich bold espresso goodness. The white chocolate, vanilla foam and cinnamon on top are chef's kiss. I also had the vegi caprese croffle - Tomato, pesto and provolone on a croissant and toasted like a waffle with sweet chili oil for dipping! It is fantastic. Delectable. I'm still thinking about that sandwich. They also offer a wide variety of pour over options as well as non-coffee drinks and bites. It's located on the corner of Harbor and Chapman. The vibe of the coffee place and decor is so cute and awesome! I love how it represents Fullerton and really gives off those calm vibes. However, for the prices they are charging and the sizes they offer; this place is not worth trying. I ordered the banana caramel latte and it was just not it. This place very obviously uses Torani syrup or whatever syrup you find in grocery stores. It tasted completely artificial and tasted nothing like it was supposed to. The banana itself tasted like really artificial banana candy. For the prices they are charging, I would have at least hoped they used homemade syrups but no. The only good thing I would recommend are the pastries here as they're actually pretty good! Most coffee shops have a bland flavor because all of the sugar overtakes the flavor. The pumpkin muffin could've been more fresh but overall was pretty good, similar to most coffee shops. #156 in my Coffeeshop Chronicles. Mugs has officially rebranded! Same location with ample seating and friendly service, but now with a new name and a new specialty drinks menu. I have to say, their rebranding was done right - they did a fantastic job freshening up the shop's image to appeal to a broader customer base. After debating over what to get, I ultimately decided on the Peanut candy latte and a Matcha earl grey. The peanut candy latte is a salted caramel and vanilla latte with vanilla foam and peanut candy crumble. The latte was delectable, and the ultimate caffeineted sweet treat. The matcha earl grey is made with earl grey tea that's infused overnight with oat milk. The fusion of the earl grey tea-steeped milk with matcha was phenomenal, as the bergamot and citrusy depth from the earl grey balanced beautifully with the earthiness of the matcha. It really was a perfectly crafted drink! My friend and I also ordered some of their croffle sandwiches, which were all delicious. We tried the pesto cheese, Sriracha chicken, and ham & cheese, and each one was scrumptious. Mugs has rebranded--and I'm here for it! Walked in on a Wednesday evening and it wasn't too crowded. Walked up to order and the worker was very efficient! I was very intrigued by the menu, especially the speciality drinks, and settled on the earl grey matcha. I originally asked if they had almond milk to substitute but I was informed that it was an oat milk base for this specific drink. I'm lactose intolerant so I was fine with it but just be mindful in case! Anyways, my drink came out a few minutes later and I was very pleased! It was sooo good and the perfect balance of sweet and refreshing. Price was reasonable, too (but I'm also a coffee shop barista so my views on pricing may be different). Used to be Mugs, now it's Lovetta! Corn cream latte (8.9/10) was super good and you have the option of switching out the milk to oat milk. I just wish there was more coffee. It's a bit on the sweeter end but it's still delicious! I drank it in a heartbeat!! Banana caramel latte (8/10) was also good, but it might taste like your typical Starbucks caramel macchiato with banana flavor added. Still tasted great though! RIP Mugs, welcome to Fullerton, Lovetta Coffee! I've only been to Mugs once before and was sad to hear that they were going out of business. Well, they rebranded into Lovetta Coffee which looks like a total upgrade in all aspects so that's a good thing. Here's what I ordered: **Espresso Tonic: It's a standard ET with an orange wheel slice and a piece of mint for garnish. This particular ET was less sweet than other spots which I prefer because what's the point of a coffee beverage when the sweetness flavor profile overpowers the whole drink? Not the biggest fan of minty notes in my ETs but overall pretty good flavor in this one. (4/5) **Earl Grey Matcha: I haven't had a good earl grey inspired drink in a while but after seeing Sam B's review, I had to try it out. I understand that earl grey is a strong flavor in general so it overpowered the whole drink. My only complaint is that the matcha flavor was very weak due to the early grey but overall, good execution and a great, unique drink combination! Very refreshing! (4/5) I went in earlier today, May 15th, around 7:40AM and there were two orders ahead of me. I had ordered the two drinks plus a hot americano for my mom and my order came out fairly quickly well within 5 minutes. From start to finish, the service was spectacular. I recommend Lovetta Coffee especially if you want to try a new coffee spot in Fullerton that offers a wide variety of basic and specialty drinks you won't find elsewhere in the immediate area. It was really good, and I got a lot of cookie butter flavor. The only gripe I have is that this shop I a bit pricey. $7 for a small cup and substituting oat milk was an additional dollar.
