Truthfully, I don't care about organics, vegan dining, or whether or not things are gluten-free. Luckily you don't really need to here, because the food is actually quite good anyhow. I was seriously impressed with both the wraps and the plates. Tried their Ever Young Bowl, the bowl version of their best-seller Green Deva Salad, which came ripe fresh spinach, onions, bell peppers, cilantro, peanuts, your choice of base(I got the Asian wheat noodles), and your choice of protein(korean bbq vegetable protein is the way to go). Just from looking around you can tell they take pride in both the freshness of their ingredients, as well as their presentation on the plate. But beyond that, the freshness extends past the plethora of colors on the plate to the scent of their ingredients too. That said, none of that matters if the taste doesn't deliver, which it fortunately did. In particular, the green ginger pesto was a deliciously nutty, sweet, savory iteration that stuck well to the chewy noodles, though I could have spread on everything. Likewise, the bbq was a still savory rendition of meat substitute that could fare just as well in a non-vegan establishment. And while they don't do much in trying to really re-create renditions of meat classics(no vegan reubens or vegan chicken wings here), they craft unique dishes in their own right that best of all don't make you feel like shit after eating them. Even consuming their heavy plates as opposed to a wrap or salad, I felt satiated yet still ready to go about the rest of my day. Which I guess is the point. read more

I had to stop in to Loving Heart after reading all of the great reviews!! I'm not a vegetarian but I'm open to all cuisines. I ordered the Ever Young Noodles and WOW was I impressed!! The size of this dish was plentiful and the flavors came together perfectly!! The pesto was creamy and flavorful and my dish had a lot of nice veggies. Been living within walking distance from here for over a year and I'm really mad that I'd never been here until yesterday. Looking for a quiet place to study and eat something relatively healthy, I found Loving Heart hidden away on Montrose. As a very small and dark restaurant, it is super cozy and I was the only person there for much of the hour and a half, although a few customers came in and ordered sandwiches or salads to carry out. I ordered the heaven wrap and a small cup of coffee. The wrap was made to order and served hot and fresh. I added some of their hot sauce but really didn't need it as the Korean "BBQ" is really flavorful on its own! The cilantro added a fresh contrast to the wrap and I'd definitely order this again or maybe next time in salad or bowl form. My cup of coffee was ground and brewed right in front of me. They have free wifi and a few desserts to enjoy... But honestly i selfishly hope no one discovers this place so I can keep it to myself! read more

I really like this place and I'm not vegan or vegetarian! It's nearly always quiet and half empty, their food is dirt cheap especially when compared to the usual prices for vegan food and their fake meat is most delicious fake meat I've tried, and I tried a bit having dated a vegetarian man! To date I've had the Sun's Blessing salad which was ok, a superb Heaven Wrap, Sunshine Noodle which were fine, Coconutty Smoothie which was good and the Loving Burger that was meh. The menu isn't very varied and the decor is..hmm...very targeted towards holistic mumbo-jumbo but hey, you keep on serving me tasty and cheap food and I'll keep on returning (although I'll take it to go rather than eat in)! Came with chips also. Small portions(McDonalds sized burger and handful of chips) but very yummy. This is a very affordable restaurant with some of the best vegan food that we have had in Chicagoland. They use a textured soy for their simulated meat products but it is certified non-gmo and is used as an accent rather than a mainstay. Plus it is out of this world delicious! My wife and I are raw vegans so we were skeptical, but our party of 4 tried just about everything on the menu and didn't get a plate that one of us wasn't raving about! They have a room in the back that they use for groups or banquets and there is a large screen in it, so we're going to keep this place in mind for our next gathering. read more

The food at this place is so fantastic it makes me not want to share. Went there for the first time and had the Green Diva salad or something like that. FINALLY vegan food that is not sweet potato fries and unhealthy stuff but actually vegetables and plant based. The salad I got was filled with an interest pesto and all kinds of cool raw foods.
