Lower Mills Tavern on Dorchester Ave. Nice little spot. You walk in and the place looks good. Small, but pleasing to the eye. It has potential. We ordered a tomato mozzarella pizza, huevos rancheros, a Dutch baby apple pancake, the LMT breakfast sandwich, two coffees, and a juice. The food overall was good. Actually very good in some cases. The breakfast sandwich was solid. The potatoes were cooked well. The huevos rancheros were delicious. The Dutch baby apple pancake was excellent. Really tasty. The pizza was good but here is the problem. It has a kick to it. Something spicy. My son loves pizza. He could not eat it because whatever they put on it had heat. I do not recall the menu mentioning anything spicy on that pizza. So if you order it, keep that in mind. It is not a kid friendly flavor unless your kid likes spicy food. Now the big issue for me was the service. I only saw one or two servers working the entire place. They were clearly busy. They were trying. But the attention was not there. The vibe was not there. Something was missing that makes you want to come back. You could feel the lack of staffing. And the coffee. Terrible. Truly one of the worst coffees I have had. It was so dark and strong I would have needed two gallons of milk to take it from Mordor black to something normal. I would never order the coffee here again. Overall, the food was good. A solid seven and a half to eight. The service and the coffee took away from the experience. I would probably give it one more try. Check it out for yourself and see how you feel. It might hit differently for you. If I could give this a 3.7, I would.

Lower Mills Tavern is an American bar in Dorchester, MA great for a medium classy post-work drink/meal with coworkers. The drinks menu has creatively crafted cocktails as well as good beers on tap. Also, there's seating indoors for small groups and they take reservations as well. Our waitress was super nice and took care of our table too. The food menu had a lot of options to choose from and caters to picky eaters as well as those with a more refined palate. The drinks tasted good and all of the food overall was seasoned well. The portions were great for the price too. The short rib grilled cheese was a bit liquidy after some time but the flavor inside and the texture of the meat was immaculate. Also, the truffle fries paired well with the sandwich. I'd definitely recommend coming to LMT at least once if you're in the Dorchester area to enjoy a good drink and a hearty meal.

Decent sized but comfortable bar/restaurant with very friendly staff. They have 3 large TVs above the bar and quickly turned on the Celtics game for us when we asked. We ordered the French onion poutine for an app which was very good; big balls of cheese and caramelized onions 9.5/10 recommend. We both got the bolognese because we were craving it and it was absolutely delicious. Very generous meat portions, well-cooked pasta, and a huge ball of ricotta on top. Ordered the chocolate lava cake for dessert which was meh: it wasn't fully cooked so more like a dense cake vs lava but tasty, 6/10.

I've visited Lower Mills Tavern on multiple occasions when I'm near Dorchester, I think it's a great place for lunch. It seems like it could get loud during dinnertime/nighttime. All the staff members I've encountered have always been very friendly and helpful. The last time I visited, my server recommended the croquettes as an appetizer and it was delicious. I loved how it paired with the tangy sauce. My boyfriend order the Cuban sandwich (4/5 because I don't like mustard, but overall a good sandwich). I ordered a burger and it was a good burger, nothing special or bad to say. Overall, this is a good restaurant for a quick lunch. Parking situation is hard sometimes though, you may have to take a walk.

What an awesome random restaurant pick! I was bringing someone to the airport in Boston and I needed to stop for lunch. This restaurant is in an adorable neighborhood right by Milton that looks like it would be great for Christmas shopping. Tons of small businesses, everything is already decked out in Christmas lights and just looks so festive. Lower Mills Tavern is cozy and inviting even from the outside. When I opened the doors and the smell drifted toward me, I knew I was in the right place. The tile flooring reminds me of Tate in Boston, but this is cozier. Stockings are hung near the kitchen, Christmas decor is all over mixed with a slightly industrial vibe- perfection. We sat in a nice mini booth (perfect size for 2). The menu has tons of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options! I got a seasonal quinoa salad that was fantastic, my husband got a Nashville Chicken sandwich that he loved. We were overall very happy and would 100% stop back in!

Mmmm BRUNCH! I like this spot. It's tiny but mighty... My husband and I came here on a Sunday afternoon while the brunch menu was being served. We started with bloody marys which were good but surprisingly small. My husband ordered the chicken & biscuits for his entree and they looked great; plump pieces of chicken sitting atop of some biscuits, smothered in gravy. For my entree, I ordered the LMT burger. It was cooked to a lovely medium-rare as requested and tasted amazing. One of the best burgers I've had in a while. For my side, I got the salad instead of fries. It was a garden salad with some kind of house dressing that was absolutely fantastic! I ate every last bite of my meal. You can tell this place cares a lot about their food. I would definitely recommend checking this place out!

There was a bit of a wait (we were told 1 hour) when we got there around 7 pm on a Monday. On Mondays they have $1 oysters from Maine, which were delicious! The oysters themselves tasted very fresh and had a slight sweetness to them. The clam chowder was also good and had a slight cheddar taste to it. Our server was nice and the space was nice (loved the open windows). Food came out at a reasonable time.

Made reservations ahead and parked on the street meter parking. The restaurant is not too large and has a mini bar as well. The street itself can get very busy as their are other restaurants next to it. The highlight was the bbq chicken pizza, really cheesy, thin crust, and flavored. The salad was okay. Our server was nice and responsive for the entire meal.

The food is great! Probably the most under rated spot in the area. Amazing vegan options - there's something for everyone.

The place itself was small too so the music really overpowered everything. But once the live music wrapped up the vibes were good! Not too loud that I was screaming over it, but still lively. I got the Heart of Stone which was delicious! Not too sour or sweet, but was definitely a strong cocktail. I had 3/4 of it and I was already feeling it. My friend got an Old Fashioned and she was a big fan! It went down quite smoothly and tasted good too. For $14 a drink, it was a little pricy but honestly I've seen places in Boston charge more. I would recommend coming here to grab drinks but maybe not a spot to catch up because of how loud it was. Would love to try their food as it looked pretty good!

We also love their stuffed dates. For entrees, I had their Salmon which is always cooked to perfection. My husband's had their Steak Frites which he enjoyed very much. Dessert is always a tough choice since all of them are excellent but this time we went with their brownie sundae. We ordered the Zucchini Fries which were amazing! Super crispy and the aioli paired perfectly with the flavors of the fries. I thoroughly enjoyed the Shrimp Alla Busara...a dish that brought me back to when I was small and my uncle would prepare a similar dish. Each ingredient in the delicious sauce shined through in a beautiful way. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and almost had the taste and consistency of lobster. There was a generous slice of crusty bread which I used to sop the sauce at the end. My god it was good. Paired with a great little off the menu but on the menu side salad of fennel, orange and arugula, this was the perfect portioned meal for me. My mom had the small portion of the Vodka Radiatori which was spicy the way she likes. Jessica checked in and gave our compliments to the chef!! For dessert we had the perfectly portioned small Pistachio Cannoli. The filling was exquisite with a hint of orange which elevated the ricotta to a delectable level! This was a STELLAR meal made all the better by our server, Jessica! We arrived on the early side just after they opened so the ambiance was still rather quiet and subdued. By the time we left more tables had filled and the place was really coming to life. Highly highly recommend if you are in search of some very well prepared Italian food. It was obvious the chefs put a lot of love into what they serve! Well done. Complimenti allo cuosco!!
