terrible customer service, called these guys after placing a curbside order please can you make sure that the order is placed on a pallet so we can load it with a forklift got from the center was yes, sir not a problem not only was it not on a pallet. also wasn't I asked them also to split up the two orders that I had because of my truck couldn't handle it and they brought it all out to me at once. Bouncing my star rating up again because I've had a lot of success with Lowe's so far this summer. From picking up to some really lovely flowers and hanging baskets for my garden this year to getting supplies I needed for a DIY container water garden/pond I've had a lot of luck here. They don't have a HUGE selection of water garden/pond stuff but I was able to find about 5 water plants (lilies, irses, and cattails) plus a small pump, a huge half Jack Daniel's whiskey barrel and liner for the container itself, and the piping and hardware I needed to put it all together. In the end I was really pleased with how it turned out. Plus, having this Lowe's with longer hours just up the street to run up to is super convenient. More than once I had I needed to head back up there to get a different size pipe or other item to make the water feature work and it was so nice they were open later so I could do that. And everyone here was very helpful to boot. read more

Understaffed, boomers and zoomers with zero knowledge of construction or home improvements. Inventory is always a struggle, no one anywhere in sight to ask for help. Lowes doesn't give sht, their executives and owner lobby the govt to pay people less, offer zero maternity leave or benefits, all the while buying the cheapest inventory they can from overseas vendors who've gutted America's manufacturing jobs. I ordered a front door from Lowe's in June 2023. I'm still waiting on it to be delivered and installed. At first the screw up was that the company that made the front door stopped making it or something else (isn't still clear since Lowe's didn't tell me about the problem). Lowe's ordered a door from another company without talking to me. I had to go into the store to talk to the sales guy. Just awful customer service....that was around the Fall 2023. It's now the end of May and the door is suppose to be in next week. We'll see. Lowe's screwed the order by getting the door hinge on the wrong side so just waiting on what's wrong now. Oh, and Lowe's took my money (over 4k) and basically has me giving them an interest free loan for a year. Awful company. read more

I bought a Zoeller sump pump from Lowes on carpenter rd. Once I installed it, it did not work right. The pump was not triggering when the water level increased. They did not refund my money when I returned it and said that they can only give me store credit. Never buy at Lowes without checking if they allow full refunds if the product is faulty and not working. Their refund policy is not good at all. read more

I'm back to fixing minor things around the house and I pick up the things I need from here. It's 10 minutes from my house, so it's lot easier to go here then the one on Carpenter Road or Home Depot for that matter... and yes, I do have Home Depot credit card... maybe it's time that i close out my Home Depot credit card and get one for Lowe's.... I'm usually in and out, but it really depends on how busy they are... Saturdays are busy, so be warned... The only help that I have asked the associates were to find out where things were located, they seems to be very helpful when i ask. So far, nothing but positive experience shopping at this Lowe's. I haven't moved in a long time, but I'm doing it now for the first time in 6 or 7 years. Apparently, moving involves lots of trips to Target, as well as to a hardware store and/or home improvement place. This shop is closer to me than Home Depot, and that's A-OK by me, since the staff here is far more helpful. I can never find anyone at HD, and as soon as I do, they never seem to have any better guess where to locate something than I do. Paint? They've got it and actually seem to want to help you figure out what you need. If you're just browsing for appliances, there's no pressure to buy, and if you just need something odd - like a little hook or a specific type of utility shelving, they'll probably have plenty of choices for ya. In the midst of the nuttiness that is moving, it's nice to know that there's a place to pick up all sorts of things you need in a pinch -- and get someone relatively friendly to help you in the process! read more

When I followed up with their customer service rep, he said they canceled the order because they thought it looked like fraud since it was an expensive item. They didn't even let me know they canceled the order. How incredibly rude to think I can't afford a $400 item, so it must be fraud? And no one bothered to call or email me to verify my order? We had some curly bulbs to recycle, so we headed to the Jackson Road Lowe's because we thought we remembered a recycle bin there. Our memory was correct! The bins also take the rechargeable batteries from power tools and plastic shopping bags. Then we continued to shop there for some other stuff we needed, like a drill bit sharpener, which sharpens drill bits up to 1/2" in diameter. It lets you keep using the same drill bits a lot longer - only $99. The seeds and other garden stuff are beginning to appear. I like the wetlands that they have preserved in front of the store. One time, I saw a kingfisher dive after a fish! Next to the new Culver's, in case you need lunch after buying a million things for your home. read more

I bought a Kraftmaid vanity here (almost $2,000) for my bathroom remodel, but trusting it would arrive on time was the "vanity of vanities." After it was a week behind schedule in arriving, my project stalled and my contractor had nothing to do. So I called, over and over. Each time I got a different answer from a different person at Lowe's..."and I applied my mind to know wisdom and to know madness and folly. I perceived that this also is but a chasing after wind." Would it arrive December 11th? Yes. No, definitely December 14th between 1 and 3 pm. Oh, no - actually December 28th. Except that it would probably come on the 19th, actually! Many staff promised to investigate and call back, only to be "on vacation" the next day without having left any information for me. But lo, chasing after wind! No sign of the vanity, only my own in believing that Lowe's could keep a promise. "So I hated life, because what is done under the sun was grievous to me; for all is vanity and a chasing after wind." Do not go to this Lowe's location for any installation projects in your home. They will screw you majorly. I had my flooring done through Lowe's. It just got completed two weeks ago in August and I paid for it April. When the delivery of my flooring came in April, I was missing 16 boxes of Pergo flooring, 2 boxes of transition, 38 pieces of quarter round, and all of the stair nose. Months went by where they kept telling me they couldn't find any more flooring and that it was on backorder. I got tired of waiting so I called the Adrian store and low and behold, they had 14 boxes of my flooring. I called Jackson and they had 10 boxes of my flooring. So I had to drive to Adrian and buy 14 boxes of flooring and then drive to Jackson and buy 2 more only to go back to Ann Arbor and get refunded for that same flooring cause I had already paid for it. I then had to pick up all of the rest of the supplies I was waiting on and get it all home so I could finally call the installer to come back out. The manager of flooring promised me 20% back on what I had spent because of all the trouble. This never happened and I'm still arguing with them over it. The flooring is finally done. Now onto the next project. I bought a new deck made of Trex composite decking back in February. I was the first person to buy anything of the type so I was told I'd be the first one to go after covid-19 settled down. The installer showed up last week Monday but the material did not till two days later. When the material arrived I discovered 2 days later that they shorted me more than two thirds of the supplies needed to build my deck. The only reason I found this out was e-mailing to get an understanding of why the installer never returned to my home. The communication was non-existent. I'm now fighting over getting the rest of those supplies. They did my basement flooring last year and it was the same exact issue. I used to love Lowe's but they have gone down hill majorly and have completely lost my business. Home Depot is my new best friend. Update- I purchased a new deck in Trex composite from Lowe's on Saturday February 29th. Today is Wednesday November 18th. My deck is still not done. Lowe's could give a flying fig about me. They gave me some customer care phone # to complain to which did didly squat. The missing materials (which has been the issue on the last 7 projects Lowe's has done for me) finally came in and the installer kept giving me the run around because he had already moved on to other projects because I was on hold waiting months for materials. I had to threaten to have another company finish the work and sue for the installation costs back. The manager at Lowe's attempted to tell me that this would be a breach of contract. I told him I've already been in talks with a lawyer and Lowe's and/or it's affiliates have already breached the contract more than 5 times. It was then that they started getting on the ball. BUT, they are working at a total snail's pace while trying to tell me I'm their first priority now. They put in little circle lights all around the floor of the deck which I did not order. They never put in my post down lighting which cost 3 times as much. They had to go back and look at my order to realize that I indeed purchased post down lighting. They wanted to refund that to me but I said no, I paid for that lighting and I want that lighting. The guy at Lowe's said well you got lighting. I said I got something I didn't want in the first place. You are more than welcome to take those lights back and replace the Trex boards that you drilled holes into for those lights I didn't want. Then they said I could keep the little circle lights. I hope they look good after all of this cause I never wanted them. I've never in my life had a company screw up so much consecutively across all projects. I'm never going back to them for an installation project ever again! Buyer beware!!!!! read more

Too many screw ups on one simple job to ever consider them again - changing quotes on cost, I do or don't need a permit, hidden fee for pickup they did not disclose, coming this day - no that day, can't schedule till the parts are in ( wrong - have all parts including one they are holding for me), contract will be at customer service with the part - no, person at desk had no idea and never handled a contract, contractor comes to install - lowes gave me wrong part, contractor has to go back to store to get part --- wait for it --- contractor tells me when they picked it up the store blamed it on me . wow. what do I say now? Nothing. Never going back - did I say NEVER? FOLLOW UP: Went back to the store and told the manager the entire story. They refunded me the cost of ALL services, so I only paid for parts. My experience ordering a washer and dryer with this store was terrible. It took three visits from their delivery people to get it right, and on the third visit, they forgot to turn the water back on. When that happened, they couldn't get someone out to help me till the next day. Most of the delivery staff was rude and uncommunicative, except for Noah--he was great and tried to rectify the situation. It has lots of parking, its clean, the employees are nice (except one smart-ass lol), it usually is fully stocked and if by chance they are out of the product you are looking for they will go online and tell you which other store has it and how many. I like getting most of my hardware from our local Ann Arbor hardware store (you townies know the very place I speak of). For very specific items, I'm glad lowes is near by and somewhat reasonably priced. In the spring and summer, the garden department is booming! The staff here is not as helpful and nice as they should be. "Over there" is kind of vague for a store of this size. You have to stalk and hunt a staff member most of the time even though they are not busy. I always feel hurried with their time. As a newbie DIYer, this isn't helpful to me. On the bright side, the bathroom is super nice. They have the means and technology to upgrade everything that would be boring. Unfortunately, the bathroom Is not enough to upgrade my review. Dangerous. Two Lowe's workers, Keith and Mike, were wearing their face masks pulled down. Asked another worker about it and he said "you get tired of wearing a mask all day." A customer was walking around with no mask in front of several workers. I asked the cashier about that and she said they don't want to get into it with customers. It's conveniently located for those living on the west side of Ann Arbor. Hackney Hardware in Dexter village will be better for small or unusual items and provides better service. Lowe's is Lowe's, so their staff are mostly unknowledgeable cashier types, but they carry the standard big-box hardware stuff and a bunch of seasonal merchandise. For better service and selection on big-box hardware items and better-quality Behr paints, we make the trek to Home Depot in Ypsi. read more

Okay, my mistake, I should have gone to Stadium Hardware... I needed a new lock mechanism for a Pella storm door and asked an employee who put me in front of the screen door assembly pieces but said that the piece I needed would probably need to be ordered. I said I would look around. I found an assembly that looked to match with the brass pieces, handles and lock assembly. So I bought it... unfortunately this Wright Products model VMT115PB (made in China) was off on the alignment of the lock assembly and was a thinner metal than the original. I ended up putting in the lock assembly and cleaned up the original and put it back on. it is annoying to have to buy the who package when you only need a piece. Next time I will return to Stadium. read more

The store at 5900 Jackson Road in Ann Arbor has just had an ultimate FAIL. Ordered fertilizer, topsoid, weed&feed, and mulch on Sunday 5/6. It was scheduled to be delivered 5/8. Got a call the morning of 5/8, telling me their delivery truck broke down, could we reschedule for Saturday 5/12? Okay, fine, I agreed to it. On Saturday, 5/12, nobody calls or shows up. I call the store at 5:30PM, speak to "Rob", a "manager". Rob sees the order, it should be on it's way to being delivered between 4:30 and 6:30. Okay. I wait. Nothing. 9:30PM I call the store, talk to "Rob", he doesn't know what happened. Couldn't do anything, so he said he'd have the Sunday manager "Anna" speak with me to arrange the delivery or find out what's going on. I'm supposed to be called by 9AM Sunday 5/13. Nothing. I call the store at NOON 5/13, speak to Anna, she says she didn't know about any of this but "would look into it and call back". Heard NOTHING THE REST OF THE DAY. I go to store at 7:30PM and demand a refund, and got it. The delivery should have been cancelled. I get a automated call from the delivery center saying my order should come the next day, my mother-in-law who picked up the phone left a message that the order is cancelled. Today, I get a call from the delivery workers AT THE END OF MY DRIVEWAY that they're there with my delivery. I told them I cancelled the order Sunday. Whoever is running Lowe's delivery systems should be thrashed, drawn, quartered and then be fired. I went to Ace Hardware Monday morning, ordered all the same stuff, they delivered it all to my house with NO DELIVERY CHARGE and the delivery guys even refused to take a tip. Ace was wonderful. Totally disagree with their policies. They wouldn't budge on their delivery cost even though I am less than 2 miles away from their store. I can rent a U-Haul truck for less than half the price of their delivery fee and that would include mileage and gas. They were jerks about it too. They lost my business and I will not shop there again. So many other good hardware & gardening stores to do business with. Then I found a bigger better quality item for less money and free delivery. After buying a maytag washer machine along with an extended warranty, the washer broke immediately. I placed a call to have the repairman come out to fix it. The earliest they could give me was 10 days out. With a sick baby just about to arrive home from the hospital, this was frustrating. They were unwilling to assist any further. On the day of anticipated service, we got a call from the service person simply stating he didn't have time to come out so now another 7 day wait. Absurd and poor service. Lowes has become so corporate. All decisions being made appear to be based upon profit. My "lifetime warranty" fence was discontinued. When I needed some pieces I was out of luck I had to replace the entire fence. I laid some tile and used some special tile caulk around the tub. Went back 2 months later to get another tube and it was discontinued. Bought a dishwasher and the delivery guys who were specifically instructed to call prior to delivery never did. I was scrambling to take the old one out so they could take it away, since that is what I paid for. They said they cold nor wait. It took me 10 minutes! I finally found an man to help, but he was no help. it seemed to be a bother that he had to stop what he was doing to walk over to the faucet area. I wanted him to take a faucet display down from the top so I could see it, and test the handle. He told me the dispays could not come down and why do I want to look at it anyways. I let him know I was just at Menards across the street and theirs were able to come down. I am a petitie female and he treated me as if I were an idiot. Lowes will not see me again.
