Never again.... To hell with this Lowe's! Why does anyone go to Lowe's anymore? Home Depot has better customer service, competent and friendly employees, better selection, and there are no hidden fees and such. I have had headaches with this location, as well as Lowe's in general. My boyfriend ordered some items for pickup, and when I went to pick them up the following day, the woman in customer service was incredibly rude, unhelpful, and basically treated me, my boyfriend, and the 6 other customers in line like we were an inconvenience. She spoke loudly and angrily, answered the phone in front of me instead of greeting me with an angry "Auburn Lowe's, DEPARTMENT?!!!!" As if the customer on the phone interrupted her "busy" day, then her greeting to me was "You ready yet?" Uhh.... I have been ready!!!! She rolled her eyes at me when I told her I was picking up an item my boyfriend ordered. "Well you cant! He has to or he has to call in and give you permission to pick it up." I explained he had called in and said I'd be by, and I even had his ID, payment card, and she could call him via the information on the order and confirm, but no. She said she had no notes about it and he'd have to come in. He was in the car with our dog so did, he had to stand in line for another 15 minutes because now we were starting all over again, and when it was finally his turn she couldn't even find his order. It hadn't even been pulled from the shelves!!!! She huffed a bunch and made a scene, getting very annoyed that my boyfriend wanted the item he paid for and wanted to pick it up instead of coming back later. He told her to keep it and didn't want it anymore, because of her attitude, which (of course) pissed her off more. My boyfriend still talks about "Angel in customer service" when giving examples of extremely poor customer service. She's his prime example when he gives staff training, and she definitely doesn't live up to her name..... I have also ordered items from this location that required installation - I ordered a over the range microwave recently when everything had "free shipping" -- but apparently not that item (which you don't find out till the very end). $75. But that doesn't include installation - $150 - and you have to call the store to be transferred to a contracted company that never answers their phones and they schedule the installation. Lowe's then has no information regarding any installations and will have to transfer you every time you have a question, meaning you have to leave a voicemail and wait for someone from a call center to call you back the next day. If there's any problems afterwards they just transfer you to the other company. It took 3 weeks to have a microwave delivered and installed.... 3 weeks!!!! It was so ridiculous and I ended up regretting not buying it from Home Depot, where stuff actually gets taken care of in a reasonable amount of time! Our last and final purchase was this last Thursday - we ordered 8 tiki torches online! 2 day shipping! Easy enough, right? I mean, Amazon does it daily, Lowe's can handle it! Nope. Ordered Thursday.... it is now currently the following Wednesday, and the torches will arrive next Tuesday. So, not 2 day shipping but a full week and a half shipping. Not worth it! If their employees were helpful or friendly I wouldn't mind the extra hassles, but even walking around the store I couldn't find any workers to help me find anything, and when I went to a check out counter to ask where something was, the cashier just said "I dunno..." looked around, then walked away! WTF?! Seriously, do yourself a favor - go to Home Depot, Mclendon's, or order what you need from Amazon. If you want a migraine, go to this location and ask for Angel in customer service. read more

Worse customer service! I was told that my appliance will be delivered Sunday then the day came I was waiting and never heard from them not until I called and told me that the item has not yet arrived! I was told that it should be coming Tuesday or Wednesday. I told the manager to inform me about the status but he never did! I called on Wednesday and I was told that the item has not yet arrived so I was asking for their manager since I want to complain about their poor service! They forwarded me to different 3 people then being ending up going back to the operator until nobody was answering! The employee who answered under the delivery department was RUDE! I called the servicing department today and got yelled at by a lady named Nadine at the auburn location. Story.... Lowe's subcontractors came by to install 2 new doors which we ordered and purchased 2 months in advanced. The subcontractors said Lowe's didn't give them the door noobs and locks. So I called to ask but got yelled at by Nadine saying, "Geeeeez, I don't know your order. I need to talk to my manager about it." Then she Called back and said, "we found your order but the manager needs to key them. So I asked what does keying means and she shouted at me saying' "I DONT KNOW, geeez I was ONLY told to call you back by my manager, she said she is getting them keyed. How am I suppose to know what she {the manager} is talking about." I paused because I was super shocked from this response and said thank you. Nadine replied, "BYE," and hung up on me before I could say anything else. Welcome to Lowe's and get treated like crap by the employee. I live in Auburn and now find myself driving to Federal Way or Covington instead of visiting the Auburn Lowe's which is by far the closest home improvement store to my house. The shelves are empty and if not empty they are a shambles. The prices are shocking as well. I don't expect them to be cheaper than Amazon but a $79 DeWalt fan on Amazon should not cost $119. read more

0n 10/21/2021 I order carpet from the Lowes store in Auburn, WA. It was supposed to be installed in the first of November. The second week of Nov. I called and they said it was on its way and would be at the installers within a week. I called the next week and they told me that the carpet had arrived and they just needed to confirm something with the installers by email. The last week of Nov. I called again and they told me that the carpet was in and they were still confirming things with the installers. The first week of Dec, I called and was told that the carpet had never been delivered and the manufacturer was out of stock and would not have any of that specific carpet in the near future. Nearly every single time at this store, I leave frustrated. Poor, poor service with generally a careless demeanor. They always have way too few check stands open which result in a longer trip and wait for me. Something I've found an inconvenience over the last couple times is that they don't open until 8am on Sunday...that's a real bummer if you want to get up a little early to get stuff done on the weekend. I suggest a 7am would be reasonable though. The environment inside is clean and up to date/modern. Perhaps another frustrating thing is you cant use your phone/internet inside Lowes! You must agree to use their "free wifi" but a fine print piece to that is they track your location in the store...which is invasive and unnecessary. What if I want to price check? Oh...okay...it makes it very hard to do. Overall, especially based on just the level of customer service a F-L-O-P. read more

I stopped by this store today to buy a couple of plants and pots. I was immediately greeted in the nursery entrance by a very nice woman who asked if she could help me, and then directed me to what I was looking for. There was another man there, who also added some ideas and where to find them. I went to the area where the plant I wanted was located and asked another woman about them -- she was also very friendly and helpful. The staff were watering the plants as I left - which is unusual in a big box store during the day (it was really hot today). Their plants were all in pretty good shape and it was obvious that the employees here really care about their work and good customer service. read more

My expectations of Lowe's were high simply because I've shopped at the store regularly and almost always got what I needed. But their Home Services department is for the birds. I needed 4 single hung windows installed before the 20th, as I am going on business travel. The Lowe's rep who came out "Gemma" measured the windows, then said that they had to "confirm" her measurements - despite four different contractors including her all measuring the windows to the same conclusion. So you have the customer measuring, then a rep who measures, then an installer who measures again. A waste of Lowe's money, if you ask me, given it's a standard size window with nothing custom and not ordered. In any event, Gemma says that getting the windows done in a week "...shouldn't be a problem". Anyway, she left, and I heard nothing back for three days. The contract cancellation term is 3 days. Again, if you have a time expectation, stay on Lowe's because they won't care. On the third day, Northwest Remodel Guys "Wendy" called - middle of the day. Apparently, they don't understand that people work generally 8-5 Monday through Friday and aren't freely accessible during those hours, because they close at 4pm (??). So that's four days wasted. I left both a text message and a voicemail for Gemma - no reply. "Wendy" called back early the next day and said she wouldn't be able to get anyone out until the 15th to measure the windows, then the 25th to install them. That's nearly THREE weeks out!! Not acceptable. I called Lowe's, livid, and demanded the manager. "Robert" agreed with the concerns and the poor handling of the situation, and promised to make it right. I didn't want a refund or anything, I just wanted them installed this week, before my trip. Some time passed that day, then the original rep FINALLY decided to text me back to confirm that their installer could come to my place to finish the install between 9 and 10am today, July 12th. No "confirm the estimate", just do it. I agreed. All Star (who I wrote a separate review about) came and got it done in a split. They said Gemma would call - she didn't. They said Gemma should have left me a receipt - she didn't. Now I have to yell at the manager again to make sure the PSE rebate is filed properly. I don't blame the company. I blame the rep that's the main POC. If I tell you I need something done in a short timeframe, call your installer and CONFIRM they will be able to do the job fast. If they're booked up find another installer. Do all of that BEFORE booking the job. I shouldn't have to call the manager to get fast resolution. read more

Legitimately the worst customer service I've ever experienced. My husband and I went in looking for a trailer rack for our truck at the Auburn location and there were two employees right there and neither of them acknowledged us or even looked very happy to be there. We made our way past the air conditioners only to not be acknowledged by yet another employee. As we made our way through the store, employees everywhere all talking to each other not asking us needed any help. Finally a nice lady named Britney helped us and she was on lunch. It's a Lowe's just like any other. They will have just about all you need for most improvement projects just like any other home improvement store. It's important to remember that the employees are just like the employees at any other hardware store. Some will be pretty knowledgeable about various home improvement things and some will not and that's ok. If you are looking for experts to guide you in your project then I would suggest finding an expert and not putting too much hope in a big box home improvement store employee. Keep your expectations grounded in reality and you will see this store is just as good as any other home improvement store. read more

My wife and I bought a refrigerator, electric stove, and microwave from Lowe's last Spring and Summer. I say Spring and Summer because we started our purchase in May but didn't have the purchase completed until late July. Never returned phone calls. Hard to schedule install appointment. Install required three visits to our house, first to measure, second to deliver refrigerator, and third to deliver and install range and microwave. The whole processes was rather maddening. The only reason this isn't a 1-star rating is that we are satisfied with our appliances and feel we paid a good price, and they had a good selection compared to where else we shopped. read more

This place is more like a department store. Their employee mostly don't know much about their product. When I call asking to talk to someone about a aluminum deck railing gate, these people toss me around like a ping pong. Either put me on hold and never come back. The second time I call, they transfer me to the window and door department. No idea why, this is a building material product. The third time when I asked for the store manager, the guy again put me on hold, never come back. When you go to the store, they will just tell you the general direction of where about you may able to find it. When I go to their special order department, the entire office is empty. The WORST customer service. Do NOT buy any high dollar item here. We bought a lawn mower mid March from this store, and the weather has been so crappy that we finally put it together last weekend. It doesn't work, and it's never turned on. My husband fiddled with it for a week, and finally went into Lowe's this morning to see what his options are. Well his options are nothing, they won't take it back, won't honor an exchange, nothing. That's some extremely poor customer service. I understand having a return policy, but as a store you should stand behind your product. Big box hardware store. Nicer then some but the biggest issue that I have is the availability of knowledgeable help. Lots of stuff you need for most home projects. Layout is ok and a ok selection of gardening products. No help in the appliance section as well as windows and flooring side of the house. First of all social distancing in the Garden Center is a joke. There are X's on the floor but not placed 6ft apart. You would think at a hardware store you would use a tape measure not best guess. No signage to give direction to customers so people just stand anywhere. Second I came in to buy mulch early in the afternoon and things were organized. A very friendly young man quickly loaded the car and I was done. Came back for more bags late afternoon. WHAT a difference nobody to help long lines little or no social distancing totally unorganized. I was number three in line to get the mulch loaded in the car. After standing there waiting for over a half hour still no one in site to help, only now there were more of us waiting. Lucky for me a very nice man who was also waiting loaded the mulch in my car for me. Way to go Lowe's. read more

I've been coming to this Lowe's since 2007 when I bought my first condo. Now we own a house in Auburn so the Lowe's visits are again at least a weekly occurrence. Comparing this store to the Home Depot in federal way, I find the employees to be very knowledgeable, helpful, and easy to find. The store is laid out so it's easy to find things, although that could just be my familiarity with it. I have always been able to find what I need here. read more

Had the worst experience buying and trying to get pergo flooring installed from Lowe's. Actually, as I write this the nightmare isn't even over. What was supposed to be a simple process, has involved about five miscommunications on their part and taken over two months to progress at all. I would never purchase flooring from here again. But more than that, I wouldn't purchase anything you want them to install because they have no control over installers - which they admitted themselves. So if the installer changes their mind after two house visits and decides you have to do extra work and that the install is going to cost more, they just throw up their hands. I haven't met a group of people as incompetent as the Lowe's in Auburn in years. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. Don't get burned like I did. Went into Lowe's today to look for the end replacement for a hose. I asked the older lady who was by the hose department for some help. It was very clear she didn't want to get near me, no problem. But she allowed her social distancing to not only make her be unhelpful, uninformed and flat out rude. I don't know anything about hoses but I knew enough that she had given me the wrong information because she was trying to rush me off (when she wasn't ignoring me and making me feel unwanted as a customer). I finally found someone else who was very friendly and helpful and as he's helping me angry old lady comes by and says "what's going on here she's been helped". First of all, by who? Definitely not her. Second what's her problem if someone else is helping me, let him !!?? I asked two other young women where I can find the scissors. After walking up and down the store three times I left without scissors. My advice to old angry lady : if you don't feel comfortable doing your job, don't go to work. read more

I needed to rent a portable steamer for a used couch I recently purchased and after searching online, I came across Bissell's website which informed me that this Lowe's had one available. I called in advance to make sure this location actually had it and was told that they did. I wasted my time and gas to go out there to have a miserable woman at customer service tell me that they didn't have the portable and all they had was the large carpet steamer. This is exactly why I always go to Home Depot and will continue to do so. read more
