I always have a good experience at this Lowe's -- I'm a gardener and buy way too many plants and supplies, which Lowe's always has a good selection and excellent prices (especially on Proven Winners brand plants). Now it's autumn, so I browsed and found a Snoopy blow-mold Christmas lawn ornament -- but just the floor model which couldn't be sold! Who helps me find some in a pallet twenty feet up, not even stocked yet, near closing time? Two young guys named Al and one of the managers, Jason. As a follow up from my last factual recollection of how bad Lowe's is with their stupid 90 day return policy, and them leaving me with over 20 metal balusters ($8 each) that they still sell and are in their original packaging, and won't take them back, I will never shop there again. I just wanted store credit to buy about 60 of the little square shoes that fit on the bottom of each baluster and they charge about $4 each for them. I found them on line for $1 each from a flooring company. Any intelligent business that can take back brand new product and put it right back on their shelves and give someone credit to buy more of the items that they sell would gladly do so. Not Lowe's. Forrest Gump said "stupid is as stupid does" and he was talking about Lowe's. Fortunately I learned my lesson and it only cost me about $200. I spend almost $1500 on my stairway remodel. So are the hundreds of people I tell it toespecially the ones that know me a courteous and friendly. I continue to tell anyone that will listen. I've been going into this store for a year and a half. There are some employees who walk right on by customers and never acknowledge them or ask if they need help finding anything. It's very frustrating! But in every black cloud there is a silver lining. I have had some great customer service by Lowe's employees Pete, Abe, and the two ladies in the paint department (sorry I don't remember their names). These four employees should give classes on customer service! It's a shame I'll be on an aisle obviously looking for an item I can't find and an employee is just standing there and ignores me. I am a contractor and currently am working on a bathroom remodel for a customer. She had placed an online order to the Castle Rock Lowe's for a shower door and the expected delivery date changed to be later than expected. Not a big deal, but when I found out it was actually at the store and waiting to be delivered four days later I decided to just go pick it up myself. Upon getting it back to the house and opening it up I discovered that two of the tracks were bent and completely unusable. I went back to the store to see what could be done. This is where things completely fell apart. I spoke with Bryan who is apparently in charge of deliveries and he was less than interested in my problem. No apologies, no attempts at finding a solution for me. All he said was that I could buy another door that's in stock or order online again. I needed this door to be installed in the next few days and he said delivery for a special order would take 7-10 business days. He also suggested I install a similar door but different color and then replace it when the correct one is delivered. You've got to be kidding me. So you want me to install the door twice? I asked if he or a store associate could hammer the track flat enough to install it temporarily and then replace it when the new parts come in. Not ideal, but I'm running out of options. His response was "absolutely not." Ok great, so what other suggestions do you have to make this right? Nothing. Bryan is not a problem solver. I asked if Lowes would contact the company directly on my behalf to see about expedited delivery. Nope. Not an option. They won't do it is what he said to me. I just left the store and contacted the company directly and to my surprise they were more than helpful. They got the replacement parts shipped within a couple hours of my phone call at no charge. They're shipping from Canada and the parts are scheduled to be delivered in two business days. What do you think of that, Bryan? A simple attempt to make a phone call could have made this all right but you did absolutely nothing. I have never been a fan of Lowe's and I know other big box stores have their problems too, but if I ever have an option to buy from any other place (Home Depot, Floor & Decor, Ace, Wayfair, Amazon) I will do all I can to avoid Lowe's. I scanned my ID for the veterans discount, the kiosk said that help was on the way and the sign started blinking. No one ever showed up. Worse than that, an employee was standing 10 feet away from me the whole time and never acknowledged me, even though he helped people who came afterwards. a second employee came by, helped someone else, and left. The BIGGEST MORONS on this planet. Delivered a $1600 snow blower with no keys no manuals no box or anything. Then o call in looking for one. Puts me on hold for 40 min and a guy comes on the line. I'll never shop at this Lowe's or any other Lowe's again. Where do I start? I wanted to order a new dryer. I found one on the website and the site showed a delivery date 3-5 days out. During the ordering process, inexplicably it suddenly switched to "No Delivery Available". I don't mean that it all of a sudden changed the delivery date further out than the original 3-5 days, I mean it said that I cannot get the dryer delivered, I would have to pick it up at the store myself. I checked back for a couple days to see if something weird in the system had happened and would straighten itself out, but it kept showing no delivery available. I couldn't figure out why and happened to be at the Castle Rock store a few days later. The guy in appliances (trying to be helpful) basically showed me the inner workings of their inventory system and said I should just order it that way (that I would pick it up at the store) and once it gets there, they'd cancel the pickup and then schedule delivery for me. I wasn't comfortable with that Mickey Mouse arrangement so I found a different dryer on their website that could be delivered in 3 days. I went through the whole ordering process, including for the required parts (like a power cord and duct). The site said I'd need to pick up the parts in-store, which is fine, since it's 5 minutes away. This was a Monday, and delivery and installation was scheduled for a 4-hour window on Thursday. I got an email an hour later saying the parts were ready to be picked up in-store. I went to the store later that night. The person at the customer service desk said that I mistakenly ordered the parts to be delivered to a store in Ohio (??) and that's where they were being shipped. I showed her the order email confirmation on my phone, from Lowe's, clearly stating that the parts were ready to be picked up in the Castle Rock store. It took about 10 minutes for her to get the system straight. Then she and a couple coworkers went to get my stuff from the shelves, which took at least another 10 minutes. At one point they came back with a new ladder, and when I asked why, they said it was part of my order - it was the ladder I had ordered. Once again I showed them my email confirmation from them in which I clearly did not order a ladder. I was very worried they weren't even looking at the right order because of the Ohio thing and the ladder, but they assured me they were. They tried to charge me for the parts, and I said I already paid, showing them yet again the confirmation email. They said because of the system screwup they had to cancel those parts from my order and that eventually those charges would come off my credit card, and they'd now need to charge me in store for these parts. It took 40 minutes of waiting at the customer service counter for me to pick up these parts in-store. I could just have gone to get them myself in 3 minutes. This wasn't even the worst part of the experience. That was all Monday night. Again, my dryer was supposed to be delivered on Thursday. On Tuesday, a person from the store called me to say something really hard to understand - something like "you ordered this dryer but we only have one in stock and someone else bought it so we MIGHT have to cancel your order and then reorder it for you and deliver it in a couple weeks but i'm not sure yet." Something like that. I explained repeatedly that I paid and scheduled my delivery for a specific day and time and that was all confirmed in their system and in email to me, and that I was expecting it to happen the way that Lowe's said it would - that my dryer would be delivered on Thursday. He mentioned they may send me a display dryer because they do count those as in-store inventory, and I said absolutely not, I bought a new one and I'm getting a new one, not a store display. He said he would check into all of this and call me back. I never heard back from him or anyone else. The next day, one day before my delivery, I got an email that changes were made to my order. I clicked through the email and found that right after we talked, he had gone ahead and canceled my dryer and reordered it for delivery in a few weeks, all without telling me. I tried calling the store repeatedly. I kept getting automatically put on hold in the phone system, and then after 5 minutes of hold music, the system would hang up. I went through this repeatedly and could never talk to a real person. I've cancelled all of this order with Lowe's and ordered from Costco. My credit card now has 2 holds for over $1500 each on it because of these shenanigans. I'm just supposed to wait some amount of time for over $3000 to "fall off" my credit card magically. The fact that this is how things work at Lowe's means I'll never shop there again. read more

Poor customer service. I bought a "repaired" lawnmower on sale, half price, obviously not repaired by the factory. The tag stated "no issues." It appeared to be a machine returned by another customer and simply re-tagged even though it was somewhat dirty and had grass clippings on it. I got it home, put gas in it, and tried to start it. It blew oil out onto the mower deck through a ragged hole that I had not noticed in the store. It appeared that the engine had blown a rod through the casing. The store hadn't looked it over or tried to run it when it was returned. I did get a refund, but the assistant store manager wouldn't give me a discount on a replacement, even after I had wasted all afternoon dealing with this fiasco. The assistant manager never came out of his office to look at the mower, apologize, or show his concern in any way. Between work and my own projects, I purchase a very high volume of materials and goods each year. This Lowe's will never get my business again. read more

I am writing to bring attention to the extremely frustrating experience of my recent kitchen appliance upgrade. I went to Lowes in Castle Rock on March 17, 2024 with my husband to select Samsung kitchen appliances. The young sales person was not knowledge about any products, nor was he capable of explaining the spend $2,500 get $500 off for select appliances promotion. I ended up going home to place my order online because he was unbearable. My online order #100902076242643221 totaling $3,361.52. I received the microwave and dishwasher on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 and the installer was kind, courteous and efficient. Very happy with the product. Unfortunately, my Lowes account advised that there was a delay on the fridge and range. I checked daily for updates and no change in a week. Annoyed, I called Castle Rock Lowes and I was advised that the fridge and stove were shipping from Aurora Lowes and that Castle Rock can't see my order status, but I was offered a phone number for the Aurora store and called. I spoke with an employee at Aurora facility and he was confused why my order was delayed. He explained that because I did an online order, there was a "glitch" and that Lowes prefers customers in person at their store to avoid any issues. I had been there in person, and the sales person was so frustrating, inappropriate and unhelpful that I went online. Apparently, my online order experienced a "glitch" because two separate stores were fulfilling the order--I honestly could not imagine this was true. However, I still wanted the appliances and was just hopeful this man could provide answers. He then proceeded to cancel my order and re-order the fridge, range and accoutrements (Order# 496912238). This took fourteen (I am not exaggerating, I counted my call log) phone calls due to changing what I have been told, changing the delivery date from Wed. Mar 27, to Wed. April 3, letting me know that what I was previously told was incorrect and that my promotional discount was not applied, changes in the credit dollar amount. I was at work and juggling this re-order. Finally, delivery is set for April 3, over a week out, and we moved on with life. This afternoon I spent two hours of my work day at my house receiving the fridge and stove with XDT delivery team. They removed and installed the stove no problem. However, the fridge did not fit and the water line adapter was incorrect. The installers had already removed my fridge and put in the back of the truck, however all my food was out on the countertops warming up after over an hour of being out. The installers asked where the water main line was, and I showed them. They did not run the sink to clear the remaining water in the line, so I had quite the pool of water to clean up. Next, the installer advised that the fridge adapter was incorrect and the hose was too short, so if I wanted this fridge, I don't have running water in my home until I go to Lowes to get it. I was not prepared to leave them in my home while I go to Lowes to get a part that I have no idea what it looks like or part number?! Noticing that the fridge did not fit correctly, I told them I wanted to reject the delivery and to please bring back my old fridge so I have running water in my home. He advised that upon removal, he had stripped the water hose and the old fridge rendered useless. I didn't know what to do. I called Castle Rock Lowes to get clarification on my situation to see what options I had. The language barrier made it extremely complicated when it came to explaining--I have no running water and no water line adapter, so I can't use either fridge. I paid for installation and haul away service to avoid my exact situation I found myself in. My husband is a Veteran that travels for work, I was supposed to have returned to work and now I need to make a decision. The installer then explained he could "figure something out" to hook up the new fridge. I wanted this done properly and not return home after work to a flooded home. The entire situation was uneasy and I said, "I am rejecting the fridge delivery. Please return my old fridge to the kitchen and don't worry about the water line, just plug it in to house the food." I realize it would be more work for them, however they refused to return the old fridge. I was uncomfortable, but trying to stand up for myself, apologizing that it's more work, but trying to be stern. They refused. He said, "Give me 25 minutes." They both jumped in the truck and left. WHAT?! He apparently drove to Lowes and purchased a water line hookup. Returned to my home, installed it, then said, " Don't worry about paying me back." WHAT?! I don't want the fridge! I am baffled by the entire experience. The fridge is now half installed, and I am being advised I have two days to return for credit and select a new fridge. I am a long-time customer of Lowe's but am seriously reconsidering that now. I ordered a washer and dryer from the Castle Rock Lowe's recently. The delivery person (contracted, not a Lowe's employee) was very nice and efficient. However, I noticed the washer had a large dent on it. The delivery person took pictures of the dent and told me to call the Castle Rock Lowe's to let them know it was dented out of the box and should ask for a percentage credit or exchange the washer. I tried calling Lowe's 3 times that day with no success. The phone just rings and rings. Twice, someone picked up and immediately hung up. When we used the washer later that day it kept cancelling the cycle because it cannot balance itself. We have tried several different cycle settings to see if any of them would work. They just keep cancelling because the washer cannot balance itself. It actually moves a few inches every time because it is shaking so much. I tried calling Lowe's 3 other times over the next 48 hours and no one would pick up the phone. I was not in a position to be able to drive to the store. When I finally got someone to answer the phone in Customer Service 4 days after calling repeatedly, the person told me that their manager said they could not help me because it was past my 48-hour window! I explained the situation and asked if we could escalate this issue to a manager or someone else (he told me he was a new employee). He gave my name and information to the appliance department and promised me they would call me. That was almost 2 weeks ago. read more

I simply don't understand when we order and pay for a load of lumber and on another occasion, doors and expect it to be pulled the day before and ready for a Monday pick up. On the lumber issue, the person in lumber flat out lied to me and said the order was hidden out back...sure, right, no it wasn't. They didn't pull it. Our framer had to wait 90 minutes for the order to be pulled. On a Friday we came in to order 4 doors...Was guaranteed that the order would be ready for Monday pick up at 9A, spoiler alert, it wasnt. I bought a new refrigerator from Lowes when our old one suddenly quit the day after my sister died. They were amazing!! The salesman took the time to measure several refrigerators to make sure it would fit in our space, and he arranged for our new refrigerator to be delivered the next day. We purchased our new frig on 5-11-2021. Anthony L. took the extra time to move the hinges on the door to the side we needed, and the delivery was smooth and efficient. What a pleasure!!! My only issue was on my side... since we were leaving town immediately for my sister's memorial, I forgot to do the survey as requested..... when we got back, it was too late. I am truly sorry.... Let me start off by saying that I have five years retail management experience and currently manage large scale production(heavy machinery)set up for a living. Tonight I witnessed an absolute storm unfold at this Lowe's. This storm however was handled with absolute style and grace by the staff and management team. After purchasing A $450 fire pit that I discovered was broken when I got back home. I brought in the broken item and Casey, The return manager was extremely helpful in getting me a new one, however this task was easier said than done. Jennifer, the young girl that sold me the original item realized all the fire pits we're on the very top of the rack that could only be retrieved by an electronic lift. Unfortunately right below the shelves was a drain that made the lift high center itself when it was parked in the only safe location to retrieve the item. With No fault of any of the employees I could tell that they all dreaded bringing lifts over to this corner as it was not the first time they have gotten stuck. At this point I offered to come back the next day, but with multiple employees and another lift they found a safe way to retrieve the item. Very nice, patient and helpful crew that got the job done. There was one manager who I did not catch by name. In my retail experience he gave off the "store manager" vibe talking about scheduling briefly and who was "on" in that section. He seemed annoyed that there was multiple people helping retrieve the item. Even though multiple people would have been the only safe way to retrieve such item. I felt as though these employees/manager deserved a shout out. They went above and beyond, especially so close to 10pm at night. Should probably find a solution to that drain issue before one of those lifts goes 35' in the air on 3 wheels though. read more

We ordered a fridge from the other big box home improvement store one month before moving into a new home. Two days before we were to move, the other store told us it was delayed. Then there was another delay. My wife was transferred from one person to another, and no one could really help. We had to fight for a loner fridge from the other store, but that was broken. When they picked it up, the guys from the store were great, but it was too little too late. Lowe's got us the fridge we wanted within a few days. Took time to put all the pieces together, and didn't scratch the house. The salesperson was great, and we talked to him several times during the process. Lowe's didn't work with multiple middle-men, and I think that's why it was a better process. I love the other store, but I won't buy anything that has to be shipped from them again. Good job Lowe's.
