I have noticed recently that the service has really gone downhill in the past year. I always preferred Lowes over Home Depot because I felt the customer service was more knowledgeable and the store was cleaner. The store is still very clean, but its is very hard to get help in the Dublin Lowes. I can never find anyone to answer a questions or even get something down from a high shelf. I also have used their appliance department to order a fridge, stove top, and dishwasher from them. Every single appliance was delayed and I had to call several times to find out what was going on. I had to cancel the fridge and order it from Best Buy because they still could not tell me when it would arrive, three months after I initially ordered it. read more

I was trying to buy 4 major appliances and unfortunately i paid through cash. Someone did a insider fraud and showed as if I canceled the product and some one has taken the money. Wish I could give lower than 1 star. Absolute failure on all levels. Placed order for delivery. Specified delivery date. They tried calling me the next day to say that they had to deliver earlier than I had asked for. Told them no one was available to receive delivery until weekend. Horrible customer service. When they did deliver, they only delivered half my order. Told me that they had no record of anything else. Called the manager. Manager assured me that it would be delivered next day and apologized. Order never came. Called again and had to wait 3 more days because the item was suddenly out of stock! What a joke. DO NOT GET ANYTHING DELIVERED FROM HERE. The best way to summarize my hatred for this Lowe's is to provide a timeline of events (keep in mind during this entire time, me or my wife have to take time off work for these deliveries that keep getting botched). Thursday: promised day of delivery. Delivery time frame goes by. Call the store - delivery manager informs me that the driver just never bothered to load up my order (?!). Promise Friday as delivery day. Friday: delivery time frame goes by again. Call the store - delivery manager says driver just didn't have time (?!). After much prodding, promises will "call me back" and try to arrange a Saturday delivery. Of course I never get a call back, and by the time it's been long enough that I realize this, there's no one relevant who can take my call at the store. Saturday: get no call about a delivery time frame. Call the store - a different manager says that they don't do Saturday deliveries and has no idea why a manager would promise a Saturday delivery. Arranges a Monday delivery. Monday: some items get delivered, but they miss out on one of our most important items, bringing something else instead. Driver promises to come back with the right items, but for whatever reason leaves the extra stuff (many bags of paver base) on our front steps (?!). Driver never comes back. We call the store - customer service representative assures us that since the driver hasn't checked in their gas card yet, the driver is still out and about and will come back. Driver never does. Tuesday: call in to try to figure out what's happening with our missing items. Put on hold and disconnected. I could go on - but WHAT A NIGHTMARE. Literally the worst delivery experience I have ever had. Find a different Lowe's to patronize, this one has no business sense for customer service. read more

We have now completed a very successful full kitchen remodel and I am delighted to provide a 5 star review. We started in October with design reviews with multiple private contractors and Lowes. It was Lowes that caught our attention as their design actually was creative and made better use of the existing space with some new ideas (quite the surprise over much more expensive Danville contractors that offered high bids without improving the design). After design we signed, and I will say paying upfront at the cash register was a little daunting and can be improved, but I felt Lowes would stand behind the outcome. When material arrived we got underway. Lowes worked with our schedule and also a separate flooring contractor just fine. Roadrunner construction (Leo, Cary, Jose) were absolutely awesome. Great guys to have in your home, very competent, and respectful of making sure as homeowner any issues (which happen in remodel) got addressed and resolved. Alisa, Hope, and Sue at Lowes provided project management and when we had to deal with a design issue calm heads came together and got it worked out. Quality, what can I say. I am a perfectionist. I'm an engineer, and very used to attention to detail. Roadrunner Construction was the glue that pulled together any issue or problem and made it right. Lowes was fair about changes and made sure the contractor was also protected. Elegant Marble did the granite install and they did fine, but I called them out to improve the seams and they sent in a real pro who polished the seams to a superb finish. Really showing top craftsmanship. We are delighted with the outcome and believe Lowe's delivered top notch quality and very competitive on price. I would chose Lowes again without question. read more

Not many employees roaming the aisles looking to provide help. So it was pretty much me standing looking at door knobs entranced for about 15 minutes before finding the one I wanted by Googling stuff on my phone only to find out it's only available at Lowes.com. Since I had my phone in my hand, I went to lowes.com. I also went to Amazon and found it there for much cheaper with free two day shipping. The doorknobs look great. So whatever Lowe's saved by not having a staffed store, I'm sure it's more than the $100 I spent on doorknobs at Amazon so it kind of worked out for both of us. read more

Was stared at, then they walked away.. we then stood there aimlessly looking for someone, anyone to help. 10 minutes later we find some one and ask for their help.. they laughed and said they don't do flooring.. so naturally we ask if they can call someone from flooring to help us. I have enough home projects for both HOME DEPOT and LOWES,,, and enjoy shopping both home improvement stores. Front counter Customer service at this Dublin location is really BAD - lazy employees with attitudes. Talking (personal calls) on their cell phones, filthy talk in front of customers. I could easily stand at the customer service desk for 5 minutes,, with 2 or 3 female employees present,, and not be acknowledged. I can not help but feel that my shopping here is NOT APPRECIATED. I've frequented this location several times, enough times to recognize employee's faces and consistently feel the same treatment at the registers and customer service desk. I have also overheard other customers voicing the same observations. I am DONE with Lowe's Dublin - I will NOT step foot in the Dublin location as there are other places to shop,,, I will either shop at Home Depot San Ramon (close to home) or I will shop LOWES in Livermore (close to work). NOTE Lowes managers: I shop several Lowes locations here in the bay area,, and in Hawaii (2nd home) in Waipahu and Honolulu locations.... I have experienced great customer service at all locations except at this Dublin location. read more

Read - 2 1/2 stars.. This store is clean and organzied and has an awesome selection of beautiful house plants. I always find stuff here that I didn't know I wanted or needed but just have to have (like my granite kitchen sink that is so very cool!). You know me, I'm all about customer service. I was trying to locate something specific and had to hunt down someone to ask. The first two clerks didn't know. Then I found two employees who were working together and one knew and gave me the information but they were all about socializing with eachother and it seemed I was bothering them. While walking through the store, there were two other employees working together. I thought they were customers at first with the laughing and hootin' and hollerin' that was going on. Happy Hour in aisle three? Points for a clean, fairly well organized store.. but they really need to work on customer service and training employees to WORK while on the clock. read more

I spoke to Bernard at the Service Desk I believe. I asked if I could place an order for windows. He paged several people for me. No one answered. I explained that I wanted to pay for all the items and have my father pick them up in a few hours. He took 5 measurements and stated that he would collect the windows for me and call me back as to be sure they are in stock. (My father was there the day before and stated that he had seen the windows needed in stock but did not have enough $$ to pay for all of them). I called him back in hour as he had never called. He stated that he was glad I called as he had lost the measurements. He then instructed me to go to my local Lowe's as I live in the Central Valley and place a phone order. I made it to my local Lowe's (Trinity Pkwy Stockton, Ca) an associate there helped me. The Stockton associate called Dublin. Unfortunately all the windows (5) were no longer in stock??? So Stockton asked Dublin to check again. Suddenly 4 were in stock. It took about 25 minutes to check. Stockton asked Dublin to create the last window as it was a special order. Dublin had no clue how to do this so Stockton did it for him. I was charged and told by Stockton that Dublin had my receipt and would mail it to me. One week later no receipt was mailed to me. I went into the Dublin store, and to my surprise my phone order was never filed BUT i was charged. Several days later I called and complained to the service desk manager who insured me she had found my receipt and would be mailing it "as we speak." ***My window was ordered. read more

Friendly staff at the garden center. Large variety of plants. Purchased gardenia shrubs for $3.99 a gallon size pot during their Memorial Day Sale. They also carried the gardenia tree/vine for less than $14 for a 3 gallon pot. They are healthy and survived my planting abuse. They also have a rack of plants on clearance for plants that are dying, sometimes you'll find some super cheap finds, like $.37 for a dying geranium or less than a dollar for a dried out disianthus plant that are easily revived with an immediate repot of miracle grow potting soil and large planter with consistent watering. In less than 2 wks, they were green again and carried proud flowers after saving them from the plant cemetary. I think some of the clearance plants should be marked down even less because of their conditions, at 50% off of their competing healthy breed, getting the dying one doesn't justify the value of purchasing it. If they priced them at less than a dollar each, they would be priced to go - a win-win for everyone: win for the neglected plant that is facing the end of its days, win for the addicted gardener, a win for Lowes for being able to sell the dried up plant to some sucker. Great prices on the plants and wouldn't hurt your wallet if you kill one. read more

Came with my husband and child today to by some various home items. We used the self check out, and the employee who was helping with those stations was terrible. She was on older woman with glasses and short sandy/blonde-ish hair. We had a bag where another employee had written down the item number which needed to be entered by hand. But, we had no idea we would be unble to use the self check out to do so. the helper-employee was incredibly rude to us and totally annoyed we had the audacity to use the self-check out to do so. She told us we had to go up to a regular register, but when I informed that the employee who wrote the item numbers, never mentioned it, she got all huffy and said she would enter it in at the self-check just that one time. My husband couldn't believe how horrible she was about it. Really though, your JOB is to help those who need it at self-check out. I really wanted to speak to a manager about her treatment of us, but child was getting fussy. We ended up having to go to a regular register as well to finish out transaction. I have purchased a GE refrigerator water filter yesterday at this Lowes location. Price was $50. While in the store, I checked Home Depot's website on the phone and they had the exact same item for $39. I asked the manager for a price match, and I got a really bad look. The lady insisted that the item was not the same because the pictures were different (even though it said that it was a "Genuine GE Part"). In fact, the pictures were just slightly different (mostly label color and layout, probably from an older version of the part). The product description and part numbers did match exactly. After several minutes arguing, she then decided to match, but refused to beat the 10%, because she said that "she was already doing too much, because the items were different". I ended up purchasing it, but then I felt like I was ripped off. Firstly, because I had to argue for minutes in the store with someone with a huge attitude that only matched a price of a product that Home Depot already gave to me without any questions asked. I do think that this as just *BAD* customer service. I am seriously tempted to return the items now (I purchased 2, because I have 2 refrigerators) and buy them at Home Depot, just because they gave me the better deal (without any questions asked). Note that sometimes I buy stuff at Livermore Lowes, just a couple more exits down the freeway, and the experience there is completely different. I guess this type of attitude only happens in the Dublin Lowes location. read more

The paint department showed very impatient attitude to customers. When I came to check paint for wood floor, I passed by a very senior clerk in the paint area. He was talking to a lady for a while. I was waiting for him just for a wick question. Finally he walk a way with that lady and asked me do you have anything. I said just a quick question. He said he need to help the lady first. I said ok I will wait. After he came back and just start work on something else. I just ask him if he can talk to me briefly. He asked what is my question. I clearly asked "do you have any paint for hardwood floor?" He asked me what is that" I repeated, he said I don't understand what you are talking about. "You want to paint something or you want some paint, that is different" he started showing inpatient mood and attitude. The worst thing is he asked the other lady if she understood what I talked about to make some secondary opinion or a proof for my bad English. That is is kind of insulting to me. Why just blame your customer's English speaking but do not think of your older listening capability is worse and worse? Yesterday I went in to buy a 100lb propane tank. When i loaded my truck i realized that i needed to purchase a regulator. I went back inside to purchase the regulator and hose.. Well, Propane connections are complicated. I stood in the aisle for 15 minutes or so, trying to figure out which device to buy. It was aisle 26. Once i googled and found the piece i needed, I walked out the aisle, only to find two male (big guys) employees standing near the end of the aisle staring me down. They stopped their conversation when I walked past. Didn't greet me or ask if i needed help. Just looked at me like i was up to no good. I know when I'm being profiled. I guess they thought I was a thief. I paid for my item and left the store. read more

Go to Sears, Home Depot, or any other store that will appreciate your business. Appliances were purchased A WEEK AGO!!! And I still yet have to get a call from anyone about getting my stuff delivered. I called three days ago and was told "someone messed up and was behind on paperwork" or some bs. After calling non stop and speaking to different people (each blaming another employee) finally they tell me that I'm supposed to get my dryer today. I call at 4pm and ask about the status and they tell me "it'll be there between 6-8pm" come 8pm, I call and they tell me "they're running behind but it'll be there in the next 20 min" it's 9:50PM!!!! Tomorrow, or whenever the stuff gets here I'm gonna tell them to turn around with their stuff, I don't want it anymore. In such a competitive market, your business is a JOKE! (Oh and teach basic manners to your employee Jessica) apparently she gets upset when customers inquire about why the stuff we purchase hasn't arrived yet. read more

First experience here was a one star, second one was a three star... So Lowe's of Pleasanton gets a two star rating. Experience 1: Lumber area. I walked into the desk that said "professionals"... odd title. I asked for a specific size of plywood and the man who answered (who was also the manager of the department according to his nametag) seemed like he was not in the mood to help me; almost like I was someone that was irritating him for asking the question. He told me to go to a certain isle and bring him a piece of wood so that he could cut it for me. So I walked all the way to the back of the store and up with a super big piece for him to cut. He then made me carry it BACK one isle away from where the wood was originally located. Awesome. After cutting it (and looking soooo annoyed doing so) he spent about 5 minutes on his phone before handing the wood back to me. Not impressed. The second visit I went back for chair cushions for a used table I picked up. There was only one of the cushions that I wanted, so I asked if they had any more in the back. One person at the service desk was gabbing on the phone and the other looked busy... doing not too much... But after a few moments he acknowledged me and found there weren't any more in current inventory. Apparently he couldn't look up any more info on his own, so he asked his manager to do so. They ended up finding what I wanted at another store. Just very inefficient. But a good selection, especially of the outdoor furniture/grills/accessories. Went to Home Depot after, and they had minimal selection. read more

Lowe's carries the only cast iron deck hooks that will work for the lights I'm installing, so there I went. ----- "Do you have this iron hook in a single, not a double?" "We have what's out there." This person was so engrossed in a conversation with a co-worker over some personal matter that she couldn't spare a moment to speak to me. She did make a hand gesture to show what she wanted without interrupting her conversation. Not even a thank you or goodbye. No wonder the place is empty. And why are half the self check out machines always broken at every location ? Ask someone where something is, even a basic item, and first you have to explain what you want( a tub knob) so they can even comprehend what that is. Then they give you a "maybe this aisle". Wow. Maybe pay more than minimum wage and get people who know something or even care about doing a good job? Makes home Depot look really good. read more

Great layout, quality things but the check out scenario is a disaster. The staff don't care when there are 20 people waiting in the self check out line; they never open a cash register until the crowd erupts. There seems to be tons of clerks wandering the store filling stock, but never enough at check-out. The current self check-outs have been down for a week, with only ONE manned register open, while two clerks, chat away right in front of the patrons ignoring the situation. The store manager should be shot !!!! I hate Home Depot, but at least they man their registers and get people on their way. read more

Well...... finally got my new washer. However the 3 day old washer (originally purchased) was sent back. 10 days later I am still waiting for a refund... CUSTOMER SERVICE is so bad here. I have called a few times this past week to inquire about my refund.... All I get is we will call you back and we are going to check into this. I was told that my refund was not put back onto my debit card but put i to a Lowe's account? WTH? He said he would call back Thursday and didn't. I called back Friday and he said he would call back, he didn't! Now it is Saturday and I now have the uh pleasure (cough, cough) of dealing with Aida one of the managers. She has 0 phone etiquette and does not seem to be concerned in any way about helping customers. I gave her my land line number since there was a bad connection. But I didn't receive the call. I had to call back a few times to try and reach her. .I was put on a hold then finally spoke to Aida only to get disconnected. She even tried to transfer me to the delivery department for help. I had to ask "but aren't you a manager and can help with this matter?" As I type I am waiting for her to call me back after she investigated some more. How can it be this hard? And, how can you let store owners or their bosses to know how bad it is? Almost all reviews here are similar!!!! read more

I have never experienced the complete lack of consideration and absence of professionalism that I experienced with this Lowe's store. This all started when I purchased a washer and dryer online from Lowe's. I did not realize at that time that Lowe's can split up its appliance deliveries based upon the store that has a particular appliance in stock. As a result, the Dublin store delivered the dryer and the San Francisco store delivered the washer, as well as all of the accessories necessary to hook up the dryer. On the date of the delivery--I took a Vacation day from work so that I could let the delivery people in--the Dublin store arrived first with the dyer. When we asked if they would hook up the dryer, the deliveryperson said they would not and that the person making the delivery of the washing machine would do so. This seemed reasonable, given that the washing machine delivery would be accompanied by the accessories needed to hook up the dryer. When the washer arrived along with the dryer hook up accessories, delivered from the Lowe's San Francisco store, the delivery people refused to hook up the dryer, indicating that it was the responsibility of the Dublin store. When I pointed out that this would have been impossible since the accessories required to hook up the dryer had just arrived along with the washer, the deliveryperson said "that's not my problem" and said he was not allowed to hook it up as a result of company policy. In an attempt to get someone to instruct the deliverypeople to hook up the dryer, I called the San Francisco Lowe's Store. After waiting to speak with an associate for close to five minutes, I explained the situation and requested to speak with a manager, at which time I was "transferred" and immediately disconnected. I then called the Dublin Lowe's store, where I was transferred to Jeremy in the deliveries department. Jeremy said that they would gladly set up a hook up and I just needed to call back to schedule a service call. When I attempted to call Jeremy back several days later to schedule a time for the hook up (I needed to work around my job's schedule), I was informed he was not working at the time but would call me back the next day when he returned. I did not hear back the next day. When I called again and asked to be transferred to Jeremy, I was "transferred" and the phone range seemingly forever. I attempted to call the store back, but was unable to even get an associate to pick up the phone. I downloaded my phone records before writing this review just to make sure I wasn't crazy and confirmed that I called the Dublin store 4 times that day and then 7 times two days later--each time either being disconnected after asking to speak with Jeremy or not getting anyone to pick up at all--regardless of which department I tried to reach. I had to wait a day in between because each time I do this, I have to take a pause from work. Figuring there was no way I could get Jeremy or one of his colleagues in deliveries to ever pick up at the Dublin store, I tried the Lowe's 1-800 number. Since that first call, I have called a total of 21 times. On the first day I called, I was told that I would hear back from the Dublin Lowe's within 24 hours to schedule a hook-up. That was eight days ago and I still haven't received a call from the Dublin Lowe's. And since that first time I was promised a call within 24-hours, I have been told 4 times that the issue has been "elevated" and that I will receive a call within 24 hours. By today--2 weeks after the delivery--I still can't use my dryer. This is creating household issues since we moved into a new place without one already installed (which is why I bought it in the first place). It's not the end of the world, and I did it for years when I was younger, but going to the laundromat costs time and money., And today was the day this situation really took a turn for the worst. During a total of 8 calls, I was Told I would be transferred to a call center manager twice and disconnected immediately each time; 2) Told I would be transferred to the Dublin store manager and then subsequently disonnected; and 3) Informed that I could not even get a refund without getting in touch with the Dublin Lowe's--this after I explained to the person on the phone that there was no way to get in touch with that store. At that point, I started to feel crazy. How can a company simply not care about its customers. read more

I put up my Christmas lights. The same ones from last year. You know the kind - the icicle ones with the tangled strands of white lights. It took me an hour and a half. Durring the night, a section of the damned things burn out. So I hate on them and rip them off the railing like a man possesed, determined to replace them with something more Christmasy. Off to Lowes I go. And you know what? It's December 8th and they did not have one fucking Christmas light. Not one. It looked as if a buffalo herd had gone through that section of the store and destroyed everything. Maybe no one told them how to order Christmas lights? Negative star for that lack of planning/inventory. I ended up going to Home Depot. Someone taught them how to order. Evrything else seems pretty in order though. Lots of electrical, tools and more. One star specifically for the online pick up orders. Why is there only ONE person who can help with pick up orders? The beauty of online pick up is so you can easily run in and out of any store. When I got here, lady was nice enough to call someone to the pick up desk. After a few minutes, no one came. I pushed the button for help with the pick up desk. Greeter at the door turned it off. I asked if there was anyone else who could help. He told me only one person does it and he was busy pulling other orders at the moment. There were like, 10 employees just walking around. Have someone responsible for pulling orders, one to process pick ups. Doesn't that make the most sense? Waited 10 minutes. No one came. Canceled my order and will order from Amazon and have that shit brought to my front door. Could I have waited longer? Of course. But this should've been a short pit stop in between getting off work and picking up kids from the babysitter. Oh well. Never again. read more

We were particularly unhappy with the delivery and service around the mirrored closet doors that we had ordered. Not only did the shipping department shatter one of them, they also didn't allow for delivery of the mirrored doors to the bedroom. This is after their delivery guy promised to come back and bring them into the bedroom. We are extremely unhappy with the service and do not recommend anyone doing business with Lowe's. read more

My review covers the experience with buying a hot water heater and using the Lowe's installation service. In a nutshell, our 20 year old, gas water heater was going on the fritz. It hadn't exploded yet, or leaked, but all the sane DIY guys around us were saying, you're pushing your luck. We got a scare Friday AM with a jolt of cold water showers and thought, it's time. My wife went to Lowes in Dublin around 3pm in the afternoon. She spoke with Josh in appliances who handled the transaction as well as lined up the installer for us. He was shooting for 24 hours/Saturday but said it may have to go into Monday given the weekend. We got a call early Friday evening from Lowes/Josh saying they had an installer good for Saturday AM. We took the 8:30am to 9am time slot. Wow, so far so good! At 8:30am the Lowes installer showed up! Eddie from H2O plumbing (Lowes approved installer) from Antioch came with the water heater and all the parts. Eddie was super courteous, respectful, clean club, etc. No weirdness. He got the water heater in/out and installed in about 2 hours. He also was happy to answer questions about the old unit, the new one, as well as other basic plumbing needs we we thinking about in the future. He left our home in as clean a condition as when he arrived. No messes, stains, odd "mickey-mouse" installation pieces, trash, etc. Because of this experience, I'm totally sold on Lowes - they picked a great installer guy (who I will be calling in the future for more plumbing work) and Josh made the handoff easy. Semi-emergency repairs are never fun during the holidays, but these guys made it about as stress-free as possible. read more

I am a general contractor, and my clients purchase special order items at Lowes all the time, against my advice. Most of the time, when I go to pick up the items, they can not be found. I would say the average wait time for picking up a special order, is 1 hour. No one seems to know what is going on here. Nice looking store, just don't expect any help. read more

Terrible customer service with regards to return policy. We purchased a ceiling fan at Lowe's Concord and tried to return it with a receipt at our closest Dublin Lowe's and they would not take it stating that it is not in their inventory. When I called Concord store back they said all Lowe's needs to do is add it to their inventory and it can be returned. Dublin Lowe's refused to assist me in this matter. Absolutely absurd for a big company like this to not be able to handle the transaction. The product is unopened and is by Harbor Breeze so not an off brand. Would Home Depot or Costco do the same? Hardly. Policies usually state that as long as you have your receipt and product is undamaged or unused they will return within allotted time. Buyer beware of shopping here! read more

Nice bright clean store. Better choices on things like faucets, lighting, etc than my nemesis, our local Home Depot. Not very well staffed. In the kitchen area, not even an acknowledgement that I was there from the lone woman at the desk. Spent at least 1/2 an hour in the Bath dept looking at all kinds of things and never even saw an employee. In lighting, found a sconce I might be able to use...but they were out. On the way to tiles an employee did show me the way. I wasn't impressed with the tile choices however. Bottom line. If you know what you want/need and they happen to have it, you're in luck. Expect to line up at the self-serve kiosks. Not a single live cashier on duty when I was there. Hate that. read more
