I'm no stranger to pesky fruit flies, but I never imagined I'd be buying MOTH traps! Yet, here I was, at the Home Depot in Pleasanton, doing just that, determined to fix the issue before it turns into an infestation I can't handle. Surveying the products on the shelf, I realized that I could use some of the fly ribbons and sticky traps I already have at home (previously used for flies). But I also grabbed some Safer Home pantry pest traps this time around. The store was clean and organized on a Wednesday afternoon. The pest control products were easy to find, the location similar to most other HD stores (far aisle on the left in Pleasanton). Checking out was quick and simple without any waits. In fact, there were workers at the self checkout registers helping customers ring up their orders... unnecessary but appreciated (as long as they don't slow me down). There was even an employee greeting guests at the entrance, and she was helpful and friendly too. I had a great experience thanks to Mr. Antonio! He was friendly, courteous, and very knowledgeable. I originally came in looking for gardening shears, and after hearing what I needed them for, he recommended a pair of gardening gloves. He wasn't pushy at all. It was simply solid advice, and I'm so glad I took it because the gloves were incredibly helpful. He had also previously recommended a weed killer that works great, so I came back to buy another bottle. When I mentioned that my plants have been struggling, he took the time to explain what I should use to help revive them. After my post 3 months ago I got action right away. Unfortunately, as you could see by the pictures, it doesn't even start to resolve my original issue about the large holes being in the cabinets referred to pictures from my last post. While the rep was here from Thomasville, he said I need hinge restrictors send them to me with no instructions. Then looking at my invoice I was charged $49.50 for hinge restrictions on my original order. Now they expect me to take my hinges off to install the hinge restrictors so it doesn't hit my appliances or the wall. Then they expect me to assemble a drawer. When I was told will send you everything you need all you have to do is put it on. So if you plan on ordering Thomasville cabinets top of the line, I would think about it again and again. They talk about Service how they stand on Customer Service more like lack of service. Again, this doesn't solve the original problems of my cabinets having holes in them. Again, small kitchen only 12 cabinets total. Very unhappy I guess it's 7 on your side next. read more

This review ONLY reflects the fact that it no longer takes back old plant pots. The woman behind the counter said "We never did that", however, I have personally returned many old plant pots to this location, and there used to be a rack right outside the garden center that said essentially"Home Depot Cares. Recycle your pots here". I guess they don't care anymore. read more

This place is always a nightmare to deal with. The staff often seem confused, and anytime you ask for help, they just pull out their phones to look things up--like I couldn't have done that myself. The inventory is rarely accurate; items listed as "in stock" are either nowhere to be found or in a completely different area. I've also had more than a few rude encounters with employees who clearly aren't having the best day. Wouldn't recommend--Lowe's is consistently a better experience. read more

You lock up your items and your employees do not know how to open the cages. You don't have buttons at the cages to call employees so you have to go find someone. Then that employee doesn't know how to get into it, time to goto lowes. read more

Ok, not a bad location. We came here to purchase a leaf blower and literally all of the leaf blowers and lawn mowers are locked up. Apparently, there are people walking into the store to steal these expensive items, which is such a shame. It took more than 15 minutes to get an associate to unlock the metal cage and get our item. It's the holidays and I'm sure they are short staffed so we didn't mind waiting. The associate Eileen was super helpful and we managed to get $20 off our leaf blower due to a pricing error on the box. Thanks Eileen! Absolutely cannot stand the "Assisted checkout" You're not allowed to ring anything up at the self checkout anymore, an employee has to ring it up for you. At that point, just get rid of the self checkout all together and use the normal checkout lanes! The whole reason to use the self checkout is, I just don't want to interact with people sometimes. This defeats the whole point. Either have a self checkout, or don't, but this whole half assed in between thing is completely stupid. I'd rather drive further to a different Home Depot than be treated like a child at this one. read more

Two thumbs up to the crew in the paint department! I brought in 4 old half full cans of paint whose colors I needed matched but the labels had faded to the point where they could not be read. Lilly, Jesus, and a tall young lady with striking red/orange hair whose name escapes me (for the sake of this review let's just call her "Ginger Spice") worked together like a well-oiled machine to help me out at the same time they were handling several other orders including mixing eight 5-gallon buckets, while answering my questions at the same time. They figured out what color each can was, explained to me how I could keep track of my paint purchases in their system, and gave me tons of useful painting related info. I'm definitely going back to them whenever I need paint. Somebody give those folks a raise! read more

I had a lovely visit with Home Depot today when I needed to correct an order for an umbrella stand that I made on line. The package arrived on time but was missing the critical screw to connect the pieces. I called the number on the box and even though they really cared about my call, they were unable to talk to me at the time; so I took the whole thing to the Pleasanton store where everyone couldn't have been nicer. Two knowledgeable men found me a screw that worked and even finished putting it together. The nice lady in customer service said of course I didn't have to pay for the screw. (it should have been in the box.) All in all, a very satisfying experience. read more

*** This review is strictly for curbside pickup only *** Possibly the worst experience I've ever had with any Home Depot. Granted, I usually shop at the Livermore location, however, they did not have the particular item I wanted in stock. I placed my order last night and when I received an email this morning that it was ready, I moseyed on down to the Pleasanton location. Sounds easy enough, right? When I arrive, I follow the instructions posted (see picture), click the button that I am here in Dock 3 and wait... 20 minutes later, I still have not been helped and I see many of my fellow curbside shoppers (exasperated), turning off their ignition to go inside to retrieve their order. That's not a good sign, is it?! I call the store's number and was told that someone would be out shortly. Another 20 minutes go by... and still NOTHING! Not a single employee in sight. Perhaps I've been spoiled by the quick "drive-up" services at Target, and this is typical...? I don't know. I have young children with me and was regretting the fact that I didn't think to bring masks for them. I then called the store again and the nice customer service lady (option 0 on the phone), Jenny, offers to bring out my order. I appreciate her kindness and helpfulness seeing how that was NOT her job to do. A word of advice to Home Depot: don't offer Curbside pickup if you can't deliver. I was waiting for 45 minutes in the parking lot and did not encounter any staff members at all. Obviously, you don't have the manpower to carry it out. read more

DA BEST Home Depot in the area with the most awesome customer services by all employees I met today. The beautiful young lady at the paint area (I forgot to ask for her name) knew her stuff so well and was super helpful and friendly. She helped me to pick up a few spray paints that I need for a project. Angelique from the garden department went above and beyond her job to help me locating a few items that were on clearance. She was super nice, helpful and smart. She knew how to locate the items quickly and even worked with another young lady to get the items from the top shelf down for me. It would have been easier for her to give some bs answers about these items and went on with her day. Her support and effort were greatly appreciated. Lastly is the cashier Violeta. My fault for forgetting to put in my proID. Violeta had to cancel the entire transaction and restarted again for me to enter the ID before pay. She did with a smile on her face and not once made me feel bad about my mistake. I appreciate her positive personality so much... It was one of the best experiences I have had at HD today. I hope these employees know the positive impacts they had on their customer. I will find a way to submit a survey and to contact their managers to highlight the excellent customer services I reviewed today. Keep the great work, HD in Pleasanton. Went to Home Depot for some seasonal items. Every time I visit this store and am looking around, an associate asks if I need help, this time it was a manager. I said yes and and told him the item I was after. He knew right where it was in the higher stock AND specifically had an employee get a forklift to get it down just for me. This is why I always go to this Home Depot for my seasonal stuff, I got the same special treatment last year as well. Love it! If they have the items in the store, they want to sell them! This is vastly different from what I experience at other Home Depot stores, where employees look at the floor to avoid eye contact and having to answer an questions. Home Depot Pleasanton is what they all should strive to be. Ill be back again this season, and next year as well. I also notice a lot of there prices have gone up So it's a place to go if I need something today or it's a must have I will pay the markup and hope I find it in the store. Sadly, their online inventory is not reflective of what is actually in store at specific Home Depot locations. Normally, that would not be a big deal, but we had also called in advance to confirm prior to driving a half hour out of our way to pick up from this particular location. Customer service did try to be helpful, however, the system they are using does not appear to be very accurate. They could definitely stand to revamp their system so it accurately reflects location-based inventory of larger appliances. read more

Came here a couple of days ago with my girlfriend to purchase some lumber for a project that we had in mind at home. Was immediately met by Rigo (sorry if I misspelled this) who's customer service was exceptional.
