Ordered a refrigerator last month. Almost received it today. Almost, because the delivery guy decided that because there wasn't a shutoff valve behind the existing fridge, they couldn't touch it. There's a shutoff valve under the sink (an arms reach away) dedicated to the water line for the fridge. Guess that's not good enough for them. But that's not what code requires, as far as I can tell, CA CPC 606.5 is the controlling code, and appears to just require a valve immediately before the supply line (which the under-sink shut off valve should cover). Any further require is not listed anywhere on their website as a requirement - only "The location where the appliance goes has proper hookups in place (electrical outlet, water/gas line, etc.).". They advertise "Our installation services provide everything you need for a hassle-free setup." - I wouldn't qualify being told that they can't touch the existing fridge, I need a plumber to install a (second?!?) valve at the location, and then reschedule. Then, they wanted me to accept delivery anyway (ignoring the lack of install, the lack of haul away, etc. - all the things I'd lose in the process). Oh, also, the pretty obvious problem that there's already a fridge where the fridge would need to go. Quite the opposite of hassle free, in my opinion. Oh, and so far, I've tried three times to get someone on their live chat. No one seems to be available. (Fourth time was the charm). Edit to respond to the Customer Service person who reached out: There's already a functional valve. You just don't like where it is. Your "policy" requirements regarding the water line aren't actually listed on your site, nor in the purchase agreement I signed. They're something your installer tossed at us after they showed up - seems like a big old pile of "not my problem" as a result. We have our plumber in my kitchen as I write this, telling me that to install the unnecessary second valve you want behind the fridge would cost us $2-3000 and is completely unnecessary. Read that again: a service professional is telling me they don't want to take thousands of dollars from me to install a basic water line, because they think it's completely unnecessary. Edit for more: the saga continues. I had them (try to) redeliver, today. (We had our plumber disconnect the water, so their plumbing challenged delivery service wouldn't have to deal with the complexities of walking 4 feet and turning a knob - they were going to set up the water line for the new one after the delivery was done) Except somehow, the new in box special order fridge was missing parts (something in the "under" the fridge, some sort of leg involved in keeping it actually upright) How... how does that happen? So, after all that, they had to take it back apart, load it back on the truck, and set the old fridge back up. Definitely not using Homewise again. read more

We recently spent nearly $5,000 on an LG refrigerator, washer, and dryer from Homewise Appliances, and this was easily one of the most disappointing retail experiences we've had. From the beginning, the sales experience was poor. Communication was inconsistent, promises were made that weren't kept, and once the sale was completed, it felt like customer service became an afterthought. Only part of our order was delivered, leaving us without the refrigerator and dryer we paid for. We were told by a manager that a Sunday delivery could be accommodated, only to later find out that wasn't true. As new homeowners trying to get settled into our home, we planned our schedule around those commitments and were left extremely frustrated. What stands out most is the lack of accountability and follow-through. When customers spend nearly $5,000, they should expect honest communication, reliable delivery, and professional customer service. Unfortunately, we received none of those things. Based on our experience, we will not be doing business with Homewise Appliances again, nor will we be referring friends, family, or colleagues. There are too many other appliance retailers that value their customers and stand behind their commitments. We hope management takes customer service, communication, and delivery coordination more seriously in the future because our experience was unacceptable. We've bought several appliances from this store over the years and it was fine for the most part, until the last two. First, no one told us the fridge shut-off valve needed to be directly behind the unit. Because of that, the installers couldn't complete the job, took the fridge back, and we had to deal with a last-minute water line install and reschedule everything over a weekend. Completely avoidable with proper communication. Then today, even worse - during an over-the-range microwave install, the installers damaged our induction range and left a visible ding. An expensive appliance now has damage because of careless installation. Poor communication and sloppy work have turned what used to be a reliable store into a frustrating experience. Very disappointing. Update - I wish I could give 0 stars. Just talked to the range manufacturer and it is not safe to use with damaged glass, so now we need to replace it. I had an appointment with them and their eta was from 12-4. I had something come up and I tried calling ahead of time to let them they know I would be available after 1:30-2. They will not work with you within the time frame they give you which is 4 hours. It's one and done and they want their 65 dollar fee. No if's and's or but's. I've had service through pg&e, at&t and comcast and home depot and have never an experience were they wouldn't work with you. On top of that I called customer service to try and get a hold of the technician team for a heads up within the timeframe THEY gave me. It was out of out of their hands according to customer service. If you are looking for appliances, I would advise you to do your research and pricing. We have been to Airport Appliances in the past and found that there were some changes- like the name and people. It is now Homewise Appliances. The biggest change we found was their employees (much better). We were very fortunate and happy to meet Genevieve R. Although she was alone and helping multiple customers, she was patient, very informative, about the appliances. She showed us terrific options and was genuinely interested in what "look" we wanted. There was a no pressure sale, and she helped us look up every rebate offer that was eligible. Most importantly she gave us the estimated list and her personal contact if we had any questions. We did our homework and with the information Genevieve gave us, her prices and rebates couldn't be BEAT. Genevieve made our purchase quick and effortless. Although it is part of her job- her personality and pleasantness made everything a terrific experience. She followed up with us to make sure that we had all of our questions and concerns answered. She made sure that we didn't have any problems with processing the rebates. Our delivery was also "spot on". She answered our questions and also knew when to leave us alone to discuss on our own. They have most of the major brands, LG, Samsung, Electrolux, Whirlpool, etc. She gave us her opinion on which was the most reliable, and steered us towards the LG brand. This is actually a really nice setup, nice visuals, hands on, it feels great. The car salesman feeling though is a tough one. I guess it's a fine line from wanting assistance to having someone meet you at the door. However my biggest gripe, Go to buy a microwave, website says in stock, great, go to buy it, they say do I want to drive to Hayward to pick it up? What? Dublin, check, in the store, check, in stock check, yet umm you want to pick it up in Hayward, no I'm in Dublin I want to pick it up here. Well we don't have inventory here, so we can ship it/deliver it to you for $35.00. Wait, I came in to buy a Microwave and now you want an extra $35/$39 (whatever) to deliver it? That left a bad taste in my mouth. I drove down to Dublin to pick up an appliance and yet, it's not really there, they don't actually have inventory and they want an extra taste to get it to you. It's one thing to say, we don't have it, we can get it here tomorrow (car parts places do this all the time). But to finagle an extra taste to actually get the product to me, that sounds sketch. (no, there was no option to pick it up the next day, 2 days from Dublin). They are delivering it within 2 days, so that's not bad, but forcing the customer to pay to get it? Do not buy from Homewise appliances as they have the worst services and will not honor their warranty commitment. We brought a dishwasher from them and this is where the nightmare began. Long story short, exchanged three times and had to complaint to them and the manufacturer to get things done. Upon attempting to cancel the extended warranty on the first unit that was already exchanged, the second part of our nightmare began and after over a month of emails and phone calls, they still haven't refunded the $189.99. At this point, it's not worth emailing them back and forth and time to submit a small claim case. It's not just about the money and hours of my personal time dealing with this. One name : Lucinda Tromblay. She is phenomenal. I was a long time customer of Airport Appliance and my last purchase was a Zephyr oven hood in 2023. It broke during Xmas dinner 2025. For almost two months I attempted to get resolution from Zephyr and their recommended repair providers with no success. I finally called Homewise and was extremely fortunate to talk with Lucinda. In no time all, she got hold of the Zephyr district representative and got him involved. Turns out, the original installation company had installed it incorrectly and the now-expired warranty had been voided by their substandard service. (Aside--Lucinda had looked at my photos and immediately voiced concerns about the installation.) Lucinda said, "This is not right!" and got Homewise upper management involved. Within two days, the installation company was at my house to repair and reinstall my hood at no charge. It is now working well. ( Future customer : She does NOT ever set up deliveries/installation with that particular company!) Also, I'm appreciative that Homewise stepped up to help me even though it was Airport Appliance that was ultimately responsible for the substandard installation in 2023.. She invested time and significant effort into me and I wasn't even shopping for a new appliance! Can you imagine the care she would invest in a serious shopper? She personifies old school integrity, resourcefulness, and interest in the customer's needs. Plus, she proved herself to be extremely knowledgeable. A brand new wine refrigerator was delivered, but heard a drumming noise as soon as I plugged it in. They sent a technician and he said it's the fan. He ordered both fans. He came back a few days later & he determined it was NOT the fan. I have contacted Homewise customer service and the sales person several times to have it picked up and issue a refund, because I do not want a lemon or give more problems in the future, but to no avail. For some reason with the new change of name to Homewise their customer service and delivery system is terrible. I am on my 3rd day waiting for a $1300 dryer. 1st day the door did not close on the dryer. 2nd day they forgot to install the side vent. I'm further reducing my rating of this company and my experience getting a dishwasher delivered and installed. First the salesman Aiden never explained to us that we weren't getting the dishwasher installed and only delivered. So that was a surprise that they delivered it but didn't install it. Then after we paid another $225 to get it installed, when they came, they claimed we needed two additional parts and that was an additional $125. This entire experience has been very poor and I will not be using this business again. And they outsource the installation to a third-party, so they can't take the blame for having to buy extra parts. I had a similar experience when I bought a dishwasher from them a few months back. This installation company they use always insist on having to buy additional parts when they come to install. The store manager, Gary was no help. read more

So frustrating. Scheduled a date on 12/27/25, to finalize the install/repair work. Home Wise Appliance/Airport Appliance's team showed up just after 7am to finish the mess their previous installation team left us who went MIA after being paid and tipped, per Gary's recommendation to have them make the microwave fit by cutting the cabinets, instead of ordering a different microwave. To date, I still have not signed the completion form. I am wondering if somebody forged my signature. I'll be looking into that as well. Yesterday, the new team walked in, looked at the damage, and said, "What's this? We're here to install a microwave. We can't do anything about this damage. We'll take pictures, show my boss, and what you need to do is hire somebody to repair this and send Airport the bill." Could there be any worse communication between their delivery team and Home Wise's General Manager and lead Salesman? So much for a successful A-Z sales to install process. I get it, things don't always go right, but I gave them a chance to repair it, and their delivery team flat out told me they won't repair it to complete the install process. I do not recommend Home Wise at all. I will hire my own contractors to repair their damage and bill Airport per their delivery team's instructions. Gary and Andrey have not responded to my emails. Exercise caution...new name, same crew. Ironically, back on day one, when I went into complain, they were shooting their commercial for Home Wise. They had the nerve to ask me to speak quieter because they were shooting their commercial, while I was complaining and in the process of getting a refund because they sent my family a damaged opened boxed item in the first place. There was another customer saying he needed to speak to the GM after me. Not surprising after seeing what I have gone through. Looks like I'll be calling Friedman's in Pleasant Hill. After this review I've had nothing but a terrible experience. - the folks who delivered the dishwasher did an awful job installing it, I had to hire another company to fix their mistakes and do it properly - the dishwasher has had major service issues, i basically ended up with a lemon - I purchased a 5yr warranty with it, the warranty provider has been a hassle and will not fix it. Instead they are offering me low payout settlements. I'm currently in a battle for this "warranty" to actually cover the product. My in store experience was okay. Everything after has been a nightmare. Pay attention to the negative reviews. I got way better service, delivery and installation at LOWE'S than with Airport Appliance. After LOWE'S installed my LG Washer Dryer Tower which I LOVE, there was a ventilation issue with the hose, and they quickly came and fixed it. With Airport, when I had a problem with a washer and dryer, Airport Appliance took WEEKS before they got back to me even though I had an extra paid service plan with them. read more

We wanted to support a local business and not buy our appliances from a big chain like Lowe's or Home Depot, but it's been nothing but a hassle and I see now why people trust the larger brands. We ordered a microwave, dish washer, and induction range in early December. The microwave and dishwasher came quickly, installation was easy. Then a month went by with no update on our range. We call, no response. We leave messages, no one calls us back. Finally we're told by mid February, but nothing ever comes. Then early March. Nothing. Finally it arrives end of March and it's not compatible because the sales person didn't explain to us that gas ranges and induction ranges have different backs (this was explained to us by the delivery driver, who was the only helpful we've encountered at airport). We decided to return the range. Now we're over a month out and still no refund. Despite us calling, multiple times. Looks like we will have to file a claim with our credit card company. read more

They quoted me a prize to install it. Take it away the old one and all the materials necessary for installation. The installer showed up at the house and proceeded to rip us off for an additional $200. There was no way we could say no otherwise he would've walked out the door. We were not informed of this at the store that's something like this would happen. So beware you might get a good price but when the installer gets to your house, they're gonna make up whatever they have to make up to him give themselves a better value. Then when it came time to get the dishwasher delivered several weeks later, they only delivered it and didn't install it, which was never explained by the sales rep Aiden.
