Online order that went off the rails. Placed an order for a dishwasher online to be delivered, installed and old machine hauled away. After I purchased the item, the order confirmation showed "pick up in store". How is that possible when I put in my home address for delivery, paid for delivery, installation and haul away of old item. Tried calling several times and could not reach anyone at the Folsom store. Finally called the 888 number for customer service. When I explained what happened, I was instructed to "in the future" to cancel the order and place it again and stating to deliver to my home. This is what I did in the first place! Then I was instructed to call back to schedule to have it installed. I informed them I would NOT be purchasing from Lowes in the future, but will go to Home Depot instead, since this has never been an issue with HD. The lack of customer service or support of what should have been a simple transaction to include allowing me to pick a date upon when it can be delivered. Very disappointed and buyer beware if you plan to try and purchase online for delivery! read more

Wow, I'm not surprised to hop on the Lowe's page and find a two star average. We were out front of the Folsom Lowe's selling popcorn this week with Cub Scouts, which obviously Lowe's allowed. We accidentally left behind a folding chair. We went back the next day, less than 24 hours later, and they confirmed the manager who found it yesterday, threw it away. A couple weeks ago we noticed a crack in our fiberglass shower pan. See the 2 inch (smallish) crack to the right of the original (old) shower drain/cover. When we took the cover off the shower drain we noticed that the round rubber seal was rotting/cracked and that the shower drain sealing nut (that tightens over the seal) was completely missing. For a few weeks we casually looked on-line to find a new Qatey seal and the sealing nut without any luck (while we used our other shower). Yesterday, we stopped by Lowes (Folsom, CA) and ask the one of the attendants if there was a person that could help us with a plumbing (shower drain) repair. They immediately called Michael. Michael found us and took us to the area with multiple shower drains, fittings, seals, etc. After a couple minutes of looking, Michael found the perfect match for our old Qatey drain which contained the exact seal and sealing nut we needed. Wonderful. While we had to purchase the whole drain assembly (only $14) it contained everything we needed. Today, I installed the new seal and sealing nut, using the silicon lubricant that Michael recommended ($5), and all fit perfectly. THANK YOU Michael for your great assistance in finding the correct parts for us. Now, onto getting the fiberglass pan repaired ($1500) rather than having to replace the entire shower, pan, tiles, glass enclosure, etc ($7500). Thanks Michael for your great assistance!!! read more

Ok, first, let me start off by saying like many of you. I have shopped at home improvement stores for many many many years. I realize that the Customer Service levels are not what they used to be and they haven't been for a long time. But the Lowe's store in Folsom, California is some of the worst Customer Service I've ever seen. I've had on multiple occasions, managers, and associates practically ignore me when I ask questions. As simple as where would something be located. This has been one of the biggest drop-offs in Customer Service I've ever noticed. Back in the 90s and 2000s Lowe's and Home Depot would go out of their way to try to help you out. Now they'll go out of their way to avoid you. I only go to this location and Folsom when I absolutely have to. Otherwise I would happily drive many more miles to avoid the store. I wish management would do something about this. Purchased a cargo trailer in March- still waiting for the plates. Was told paperwork would be delivered to DMV later that week- wrong. After several visits to the store- to be told Kevin was unavailable- only person who handles DMV items. Finally two weeks ago- this is May now- paperwork is still on his desk and would be delivered to DMV that Thursday and I would get a call that Friday . No call- called back a couple days later to find out Kevin was on vacation and no one could assist me. Contacted customer service- nothing, sent emails- nothing. Called twice yesterday being told I would get a callback- nothing. Next steps- file a complaint with DMV? This is the first time I have ever had a problem with Lowe's in 17 years. Just when I thought Lowe's was beginning to show improvement, they have fallen off to a new low. On numerous occasions while shopping the store, I have been approached by people selling gutters or gutter guards. They typically ask some stupid question about how your gutters are working or if they are clean. Yet, every single time I have nicely responded that I am NOT interested, they pester me with questions. I have also seen and heard this happening to others. They don't take no for an answer and continue to harass you with more questions. When I called the store manager, who said her name was Jackie, and informed her of the harassment and that I would be forced to shop elsewhere if it continued, she stated that they were not going anywhere because they were a third party hired to sell in the store. So, even though I am being harassed, she was unwilling to do anything, except to say she would have a conversation with them. No apology, no concern over my being harassed, nothing. Purchased a new refrigerator that came with a big dent. Requested to have an exchange- the second fridge came even more dented. We tried contacting customer service. They put us in circles saying that they would call back, and never did. Every person we ask just says to wait for a call back and we cannot get in touch with anyone to help us. Customer service was rude the entire time, no one seemed to care about the order or a solution. It's been almost a month now with no call back and no solution. Thirty minutes later get a call- its not coming at all, trucks too full (so how did we even get a time?). Say they will deliver Sat a.m. Day rolls around truck is 17 stops away. Serioisly?? I have a crew hired and ready to come at 8:00 in the morning to install the 47 bags mulch I ordered but Lowe's did not deliver today as they were supposed to and they can't even give me a status or tell me whether or not it's going to come tomorrow. I tried calling three times and had spend five minutes trying to get past the AI agent each time and then let it ring for 15 minutes before somebody answered and they couldn't even tell me the status of my order. If I could give 0 stars I would. I paid for same day delivery $2.99- sounded like a great deal. I waited all day, no delivery. Two days later and I get an e-mail that says my order was delayed. I called customer service at the Folsom Store and was told they would cancel my order and refund. 5 days later and I still don't have my refund and no refund in process. I called customer service again and it rang 67 times before anyone answered. I told them the situation and they stated a refund was not in process. I said well, 4 days ago I was told the order would be cancelled, a refund issued and I would be called. I never heard back and no refund is in process. Lisa's response was "you should never select that service, it's terrible and it's a third party gig driver." Like it was my fault! WHAT?? I said "then why do you offer this delivery on your web-site". She went on to tell me that it would take 7-10 days to get a refund and she acted like it was a big problem for her. She said "well, now I have to contact the gig driver and try to get a refund started and I'm really busy and the only one here (customer service counter). She went on to say, I'll try to get to it when I can- WHAT THE Hell kind of answer is that and WHAT Terrible service. I was told the exact same thing 4 days earlier by another customer service person who claimed she would take care of it all and call me back. She stated she was the Head Cashier. She never did anything either. I doubt I will ever get my money back based on her lack of "Time" to get to it! WHAT a JOKE! DO NOT ASK FOR DELIVERY BECAUSE THEY WILL LIE TO YOU AND NOT DELIVER YOUR ORDER. We ordered a huge load of mulch and soil to be delivered at our home. My husband took the day off from work. They delivered about 1/5 of the order. We called Lowes. Spent 30 minutes on the phone. Nobody could give us an answer. They said they'd call back. Another hour on the phone. THEN another 30 minutes on the phone. Then they did a bait and switch and said we didn't ask for it to be delivered. Excuse me? We were told they use GIG workers for deliveries so some guy showed up in a hatchback, instead of a big truck and decided he didn't want to do it and left the rest of our orderr at the store. So now Lowes said WE have to pick up the rest of the order or they'll charge us even more. We have our order in front of us and the Lowes employee LIED to us about it. LIED. WTF. Did I mention they were RUDE too? Extremely rude like we were bothering them and taking them away from their video games, porn, or whatever they do during the day when they're supposed to be helping customers. Looks like this has happened to A LOT of other people too. They say they'll deliver but they DON'T DELIVER. They don't care. If it was my company they'll ALL BE FIRED. Welp, it's time to review the big box store, Lowes! I have to say it always provides exactly what I need when I need it. As opposed to its rival, that other big box place down the road and across the street, which always leaves me frustrated and promising myself I will never return. Local shoppers know which store I am talking about:). Maybe it is the great lighting, but everything seems bright and cheery whenever I enter. Now... who thought Lowes could be described like that:). I find it clean, orderly, and easy to find that elusive item I am there to locate. It is always a great last resort. Unlike Home Depot (there...I said it:), customer service is helpful and plentiful. No searching from one end of the huge store to the other looking for assistance. And once I do find someone, he/she is always pleasant and knowledgeable. They actually seem happy to be there. All in all, is it always my first choice of store when I am looking for something of the DIY category? Maybe not. But when I am out of options, it is the first big box department store I think of. When I was unable to locate begonias late in the season recently... Lowe's had them. Woohoo! Their garden center is well maintained, and the many plants are always good-looking and healthy. And quite frankly at a much more reasonable price than some of the smaller nurseries. I understand that a 10% discount is offered to military- affiliated customers. Nice gesture Lowes! We bought a new dishwasher to be delivered and installed, with the old one hauled away. The delivery guys just showed up and said they don't install, and they don't haul away. Their excuse was that most people enjoy installing their own dishwasher. Why would we order it to be installed and the old one hauled away if we wanted to install it ourselves? Looking at the invoice e-mail, it also looks like they took off the charge for hauling away before it was even delivered without telling us. Went to the Garden Center. Asked for a cart as I am 78 and disabled. I was told I could find a big contract size cart outside or I could walk clear to the other end of the store and get it myself. I was walking with a cane and obviously having a hard time walking. I left as I was unable to use a big trolley and I couldn't walk far enough to get a cart. The plan was to spend at least $100. Had some challenges with a delivery of appliances to our home. Too long to tell but the bottom line is I was assisted by Anna at the Folsom, CA store. She focused on my story and was able to provide a credit where credit was due. She knew that my situation warranted an assist from store management (Kevin). Kevin was able to get me the credit but this wouldn't have happened if Anna hadn't taken the time to listen to me. She was courteous and understanding so kudos to her for getting the ball moving in the right direction. Thank you Anna. @ Anna, I could not fill out the Lowes survey given it had already expired but if I could, I would have given a 10. On an additional note, Lowes service has been good for myself and our family but this delivery experience was not good. Shocked but not shocked to see that this location only has an average of 2 stars. Starting with the good, I love Lowe's, in general. I like their product selection, and while I can't say I've never had any issues finding what I'm looking for, I'm always ultimately able to find it. For example, last year, I came here looking for a very specific doorknob combo that I had seen online. I was on a very tight budget, and had scouted out several stores before noticing that it was actually on clearance at Lowe's. Not only that, but they had over a dozen in stock. I came right down and searched for the combo, but couldn't find it. I've worked in the retail and restaurant industries since I was 15, so I resorted to all of the same tricks that an associate normally would, such as checking the bin labels on the shelf for the SKU, checking top-stock for it, etc. When I was unable to find the combo on my own, I enlisted the help of an associate, who enlisted the help of another associate, who enlisted the help of another associate. The 3 of them took less than 5 minutes to determine that the combo was not in stock, and gave up on it. But I was like, it's here somewhere. I would understand if the product count were off by 1 or 2. But 14? It must be on a clip-strip or a bulk stack somewhere. And within a few more minutes, I found both a clip-strip AND a stand-alone display near the aisle of screen doors. In the end, I was just happy to find the good deal I was looking for, and honestly gave myself a little pat on the back for being able to find a product that 3 employees were unable to help me locate. A few months ago, I came in looking for a handheld torch. I asked a couple of employees who appeared to be waiting to help customers, and they gave me a very general description of where it was, and then literally watched me struggle to find it... but again, I ultimately found it on my own. This morning I came in to grab a bag of succulent soil, after having made the mistake of thinking I could purchase it from Amazon (never again). Before grabbing the soil, I took a walk around the garden center. As I stood in the succulent section, a beautiful hummingbird came to feed on a heart-shaped echeveria flower that was only inches from my face. "Don't move, don't move, don't move," I thought to myself. Like other reviewers have mentioned, the cashier was kinda rude, but it didn't feel intentional to me, personally. I got the impression that she just wasn't the best at pretending to like strangers. When I got home with my soil, I opened it right away, and was relieved to see fresh, healthy soil. Trust me, don't even think about buying it from Amazon. You don't even want to know what was in the bag I ordered from them. Just trust me. Lol. Other reviewers are correct when they say that the customer service at this location is lacking, but I've always ultimately been able to find what I need, and have been satisfied with most of my purchases. read more

I brought the paint in today to ask them to add the color and Edward was rude every step of the way- again, about something that was their fault. I visited the Folsom store Thursday evening June 26 and purchased several bags of garden mulch. Upon checkout, the clerk asked another employee nearby to help me load the bags in my car (I had not requested that). The young man had such a positive attitude and told me he was loading them into my trunk in a way it would be easier to get out. He told me his grandpa has a harder time lifting heavy things now days too. He told me a few times to be careful driving home after I mentioned I live an hour away from the store. Walked in to garden dept at 11 am today. One Lowe's person helping one person at computer. I walk up and say I need a light weight weed eater. The Lowe's person points to the display wall. The displays are tied to shelves so I can't hold to check weight. Boxes are all locked up so I can't check specs. I kept looking over to see when person could come help me determine a light model. In the meantime I'm searching internet for information. 20 minutes later I look over and they are both gone. I walk up and down the garden section looking for anyone to help me. No one. Not okay. I tried their online ordering and locker pickup recently, and it went well. I received notification my order was ready for pickup within a short time (an hour or two). Lowe's lockers are in the main part of the store (in the front, roughly middle area of the store). I had to punch in the number to open the locker, and that was it. I also tried phoning Lowe's with a question recently. It just rang and rang; I gave up after about 5 minutes. I tried several more times during different hours of the day, with the same result. We purchased carpet and the pad for 2 bedrooms from Lowe's which included installation. Unfortunately it's only been over 2 years which means it's out of workmanship warranty. This photo shows how bad the installers were. Each room, not just one has gotten ripples in the carpet. NEVER use them. PS - Maybe that's why they throw in the installation. Manager said "sorry no returns it's policy" one MAJOR reason Home Depot is a far superior store. (for his Less than courteous attitude) in a sarcastic voice in my mind, he did not say a word and just walked away. I came in to look around for carpet for my guest room. I've been shopping around and tried other stores prior to coming to Lowe's. I was helped by Michael and he was amazing. He didn't try to upsell me on things I didn't need. He provided options and details to help me make an informed decision. Not only did they have the best deal but they had the best customer service as well. they offer free installation. And no sales tax on carpet purchases. After over 20+ years of shopping al Lowe's stores, today I was given the news that I can not return items anymore, unless I have a receipt. This was never ever the case, I mentioned to the lady at the register, that my company spend $50K to up to 100k per project, and that 70 % of that was bought at lowe's stores, she just smile and told me that it was their new policy. When I ask for the manager, Jaccop came out and confirm that they would not take the BBQ Burner I had just bought, because I did not have the receipt. When I asked him for the district Manager phone number, he told me rudly, that he was not going to give to me, instead he gave me 1 800 number which it was an auto answering service. I am now faced with throwing away a $28 dollar bbq burner, because even though it says it would fit my bbq, it did not. Mind you, I was not even asking for the cash, but for store credit so that I could spend it there. I gave them the number of my business so they could see how much money I spend there, but that did nit persuaded them. I am for sertain not going to go back to that store again, nor would any of my employees. $28 lost to me... And lowe's, you need to retrain some emplooyes in customer service. read more
