Feels like a nicer home depot with better staffing I always come here to buy tools. Kobalt tools are stepping up in quality. The employees don't seem to know much about the kobalt lifetime warranty so find someone that does. There Better Than Husky tools. I got a Lowes Credit card two years ago just to get the first purchase discount . I went in Saturday and chose carpet and laminate. I was told they would come out and measure Wednesday. Today I got a call from BJM installations to schedule an appointment to measure. I said "You are coming out Wednesday" No, the soonest appointment was in almost three weeks. I hit the roof. She sounded like she wanted me to cancel. So 2 1/2 weeks to measure. 2 weeks to get the materials and possibly an additional 2 week delay for materials due to Covid. Over a month and a half. If you order carpet, don't hold your breath. You are in for a wait. read more

I purchased a Reduced Price Fridge from Lowe's on 1/16/2021. I asked if it worked and was Told it was a return due to not being able to fit inside someone's kitchen and it's still had the plastic skids on the feet. I asked if we can plug it in to verify it works and again store staff told me that no plugs were available to power on the refrigerator which I find hard to believe. After renting a truck to take home the fridge we plug it in at three hours later the fridge and freezer are only both blowing hot air we called the store and they told us our option was to return it or to make a warranty claim. Not only was I lied to as a customer that night I had to spend another $50 so a nice person from Hollister could help me return this fridge at 7o'clock at night. Absolutely, horrendously incompetent and indifferent customer service. Spent an hour in store getting 9/10 or a kitchen in hand. The last piece was sold to us as special order but they said was in the local warehouse and would land in 1-2 days for pickup. We prepaid in full. Now a week late, they just say "maybe next week". It's Tuesday. That's at least 2-3 weeks they will be holding up the other trades for a cabinet I know they have in a warehouse an hour away. They don't care that I'm returning the order now and going to buy everything elsewhere. Total reset. Thanks Lowe's. That's 4 hours of my time and 10 days lost on the project. read more

Just horrible, I've never experienced such mediocre customer service. The cashiers are lazy teens that are always on their phones, they never pay attention to the customers. This one girl stared at me when I passed by the cash register with an annoyed face and just the most unpleasant stare. I felt so uncomfortable, she just stood there and when I made a loop back, she was taking to a guy about sexual encounters! It was so inappropriate. I didn't catch her name tag but all I could focus on was her awful stare and disgusting choice of words. Then when I went to check out, two cashiers were talking and said they were close and I had a few questions before checking out. Worst service ever. These guys are ridiculous. We were trying to update our rewards account, the cashier couldn't figure out how to update the names, rather than asking someone for help, we stood there for over 15 minutes. Then, I try to help and she snapped at me! The customer! Then she sends us to customer service, who took care of us fast, but looked miserable doing so. Will never come back to this location. As an owner of 45 apartment units I have relied primarily on Home Depot for supplies and appliances. I thought I might try Lowe's to expand my sources. BIG MISTAKE. I live in San Francisco and own a second home in Carmel Valley. I ordered a refrigerator and range from the Salinas store. I made the mistake of not googling complaints about Lowe's delivery service. On Monday I was told the delivery would be between 3:30 and 5:30. I drove 3 1/2 hr. from San Francisco. At 5:30 when the truck didn't arrive, I contacted the store and was informed that the delivery company cancelled the order because their truck was too big for the roads. When I asked why they didn't call I was told they did but there was no answer. Impossible since I was waiting all day at the house. Delivery was scheduled for Tuesday from between 1:30 and 3:30. In late morning I was told that the delivery had to be changed to between 4:30 and 6:30 and it would arrive on a smaller truck. When 6:30 passed I spoke to the Salina's manager and was told the appliances went back to the store since the truck couldn't fit on the road. Nonsense. 20ft+ trucks routinely deliver in my complex. I would have liked to use Lowe's for supplies and appliances, but the treatment I received is deplorable. I cancelled my order and will have Home Depot deliver it. Since I was counting on the delivery of the refrigerator since my old one died, I now have to throw out hundreds of dollars of spoiled food since it has remained unrefrigerated for two days. read more

Went to Lowe's in Gilroy at 8:30 PM to pick up PVC pipe. Had to interrupt an employee on his cell phone. This wasn't some kid, but an older man. I told him what I was going to use it for and he took me to the isle that had the grey pipe. They didn't have the size that I need so I asked if they had that size in the white pipe. Once, shame on you. Twice, shame on me. Third time-serves me right. I will never trust anything I order from Lowe's again. 1st. Ordered a tool box for my husband. Out of stock. a month later, back in stock. Paid for it on-line got a delivery date of a month later. (April 2018) It never showed up and they never called back but they took my money. It was a nightmare trying to get it back. 2nd: Ordered flooring and fencing. It was to be delivered in 7-10 days. 14 days later and the day before I had to fly my son BACK to Texas (he was doing the labor for me) it showed up at 2000 hrs. He let me fly him back out two weeks later to.finish the fence and the flooring. 3rd and last time: ordered a new gas range/oven. Lowe's scheduled delivery today between 0900-1900. I bought leveler cordless blinds. I paid for measuring and installation because I didn't want to have to do it. They were either measured wrong or the store cut them wrong , the store blamed the person installing them the installation person to blamed the store. They were fixed an installed. After many trips to lowes. I went to adjust one the wand fell out. On keeps falling down. Some of the wand pieces are missing. This Lowe's really needs more staff. Every time I shop here, I have to wait for someone to page for assistance because most of the departments do not have a designated associate. Another issue I have with this Lowe's is that I ordered a measure/install for new window blinds a few weeks ago and I still haven't heard from Lowe's to schedule an appointment. I had to pay for the measure, so I expect to get prompt service once money has exchanged hands. This is the closest Lowe's to where I live, so I am kind of stuck with it. Is it possible to give zero stars? This is the worst experience I have ever had at any store. After going out of my way to return the wrong tile that was given to me by a forklift at a store in San Jose, my terrible experience with Lowe's took a turning point - for the worse. After being directed by Lowe's support to return tile to the closest store to me, I decided to visit the Gilroy store. Mike, the operations manager was difficult to deal with, and wouldn't accept responsibility for a mistake that was made at a sister store in San Jose. He basically told me that it's not his store's problem and that I need to work it out with the San Jose store. This was after I already unloaded 3,000 lbs of tile by hand because no one was willing to help me unload the pallet with a fork-lift. I called ahead the evening before and was told someone would be waiting to help when I arrived. When I got to the store I went to lumber and asked an associate for help, I then waited for 30 minutes to no-avail, before unloading it all onto a cart. At which point I was told I would need to move it to the other side of the store. Pushing a 3,000 lb cart isn't easy, so but I did it anyway. Next, after I reached the other end of the store, I was told I would need to reload the tile and bring it to another store, or I can take store credit. Mike was not willing to give me more than about 90 seconds of his time, before walking away with no solution. Immediately after accepting store credit, which was my only choice at the time, I called Lowes support, where I was again told the Gilroy store should be refunding me to my original form of payment. I spoke with the San Jose store today and they verified the Gilroy store had the option to work with me and give me a refund to my credit card, rather than store credit. The associate at the San Jose store was surprised to hear how unwilling the Gilroy store was to help. Sounds like Mike was just being difficult and didn't want to put in the ground-work to fix a situation that wasn't initially caused by his store. I've worked in client-facing positions for my entire career, and as a manager myself, I would never accept an employee treating customers the way that Mike treated me during my visit. The fact is, I was at his store to rectify an issue caused by another store, and instead of taking the initiative to help a customer, Mike decided to just pass the buck. My company and I will be sure to take our business to Home Depot and ACE since respect and honor aren't values that Lowe's appears to prioritize. After seeing the other reviews, I'm not surprised by the service I received, but I am surprised that corporate would let this team continue to operate. They are failing and corporate either needs to step in to fix the store or close it. read more

self checkout at Lowes is ridiculous. We were there at about 7:30pm the other night. NO regular check out stands and a befuddled young man 'running' the self checkout area. We counted 13 people in line.. every single self checkout was failing and when we were finally up there, the line had grown to 15 behind us (plus all checkouts full and still NO checker) We had two pieces of lumber that would not scan. I finally asked the young man, could you get some help? (we'd been waiting 17 minutes--yep, I started timing it) to check out.. longer than we'd spent in the store finding our things) he answered, "no, I got this" I reiterated, we really need some help. (we'd seen 6 people with lowes outfits on walk by, greet him, say hi etc) Finally, I said, "We've been waiting too long, pick up the phone and please call your manager and tell him that we need some help." "I can't do that AND do my job." I insisted, 'it will help you if you have help, you should call or I can call' At this point, he scowled, walked away from the couple he was 'helping' and keyed in the lumber we were buying (which he had to do multiple times.) In the end (and when we looked in the car, we were overcharged, but why go back in.. we called it the "lowe's tax' and drove away. Last month I bought kitchen cabinets from Lowe's for my garage (just bought a new house) and when some parts were 'forgotten' on the truck, we'd gone to just get the other parts we needed and this experience. I ended up going over here because the folks at ACE can't even make a simple copy of a key. We walked into the Gilroy store today looking for a doggie door. The sales associate looked at us bewildered - doggie door? No clue. Asked him where the doors were - he didn't know - maybe all the way down that way. Pointed left. Found the doggie doors. Boxes beat up, broken, without the hardware, bent frames. What a mess. Funny thing when we were inspecting the doggie door a lady asked my husband for help. He had on a orange shirt & brown vest. No he does not work for Home Depot. We went there first - Lowe's was the only choice. Not one employee greeting us with a smile. Upon checkout we were not thanked for shopping at Lowe's. Finally someone in Curbside Pickup answered and as I was beginning to ask a question, he hung up! Never could get ANYONE to answer the phone. Home Depot had the same product a little cheaper (replacement toilet) and they answered the phone on the second ring and easily answered my question about curbside pickup for an on-line order. I got the store menu, went thru that until finally got transferred to customer service. There the phone rang approximately 25 times (varied each try), then was returned to main menu where I repeated the process. This went on for 37 minutes before it was answered but just got sent back to main menu. Repeated for another 8 minutes and was disconnected. Called back, went thru process again for 12 minutes and phone was answered but immediately disconnected. Called back, went thru menu, phone rang as usual, and was finally answered. I asked my question. Got an answer right away. (It is one year). All in all, close to an hour with ringing phone and menu tag. Unacceptable! read more

Frank and George O. had the most amazing customer service I have ever experienced. Franks knowledge of paint was unparalleled and George's resolve to rectify the issue was unprecedented! Just ordered a refrigerator and had it delivered from this Lowes. Ordering process was fine as was the refrigerator. However, the delivery and set up was terrible. Lowes indicated that if I purchased the water connection hose the delivery team would install it. They arrived with the refrigerator and plugged it in but wouldn't install the water line, despite my having discussed this specific topic when I ordered the appliance. Furthermore when delivered, they didn't take any of the packaging off or unwrap the refrigerator. Tape and styrofoam had to be pulled out of the unit before it could be used and plastic unwrapped from it as well. They also left a bunch of garbage in the front driveway and broke the alarm sensor on the front door. Very disappointed in my experience and would recommend getting your appliance elsewhere. read more

Update, I finally got a phone from the manager one month later... He left a message saying "I'm not sure if anyone called you to let you know your order was sitting in the back at the loading dock. Im not sure if you still want your order or not..." I called Lowe's back and was told he went to lunch. I waited 1 hr to call him back. I called customer service. I was transferred right away. He finally answered on the first call. He told me the box was slightly damage and if I wanted to come by to check if all the part was there before repurching. When I got to the store. The box was not slightly damage. The box, the severely damaged that parts of the box it self was missing and falling apart. Looked like a large cat went crazy and started tearing the box apart. It was so bad, that the other employee, could barely tape the box. The store manager never bothered came up to me to greet me or even apologize for the horrible service and poor care of their products. The custom service cashier manager is the one who helped us. She spoke so loud that everyone was looking...talking so loud about, how badly the damage was to my order was. Like as if it was a joke. I had a great experience here. I just bought a home in Gilroy, I must have spent over $5,000 dollars here in equipment for repairs, appliances, fixtures, etc. This staff really came through. I recommended my friend specifically for their Appliances, I bought a Whirlpool Refrigerator (best price for quality at the time) and Stove (GE). Unlike the competition, they delivered an installed for free ($80 value). The Whirlpool they had in stock. The GE, like every other big box home improvement store had to come from the GE factory. I must say I was a little dismayed at the price matching policy, they kinda gave me a hard time, but it wasn't anything with a couple more minutes and some explanation that I didn't get solved. We bought a special order two weeks in advance. We agreed with the salesman a delivery date. (Only 3 items). My experience so far: First delivery was canceled because the material was not available yet. Delayed my project. 4 days later, I got the first delivery, only one item delivered, two missed. The contractor starts to work but had to stop two days later. I called the customer service, which was very kind but could do much for me. So they scheduled the 3rd delivery. I just received the delivered today, 4 days after the second delivery. Once again I am missing one of the items. I have a contractor setting in my house waiting on the material. I am wasting money and energy. Customer service has been very kind but nobody is really helping. Overall experience is terrible and I will never buy at Lowes again. read more

Went to Lowe's two weekends in a row. First week I went to get a ladder and other home improvement things. Lady at the check out line was super nice. Asked for the red flag to tie onto my 8ft section of ladder since part of it was going to hang out the back of my truck. She went out of her way to help me. Next week I went to get a refrigerator water filter and a few other things. Asked an employee was busy with something. He dropped everything he was doing to walk me to where they were and compare part #'s on the filter. Another lady at the checkout counter was also super nice. Was playing with my daughter who is always talkative. Gave her some stickers which she was super stoked on. Very impressed by the service I got although I don't ask for much. 12/28/14- My furnace broke. In an attempt to get a replacement furnace I made a trip to Lowes. After walking around for a bit I find an end cap for trane HVAC stuff. The display says to ask an associate or call 800-go-lowes. So I ask an associate about the display and they have to page another associate. The 2nd associate was juggling several customers and when he finally got to me all he could do was look on the Lowes website for furnaces. Couldn't help with setting up an appointment or giving me information about a furnace to replace mine. Needless to say I left to go home and call 800-go-lowes. Calling didn't help either as the person on the phone couldn't find a comparable furnace for me. I had to ask several time to have a consultation setup. She couldn't setup one up only take my info and call the local store and have someone call me back. Its been 5 days with no call back. 1/1/14- Went to purchase a new microwave. Couldn't find anyone in appliances to help me with finding the unit I wanted. I had the SKU and per the website it said they had one in stock. Finally tracked down an employee to ask for help, she paged the person who was working appliances. A good 10 mins and no body showed up. I called the store from with in the store and asked for someone in appliances. I got parked and never answered. By this time there was someone over at the cabinets counter. Go over and ask if he can check stock. This gentlemen checked stock, verified that it was in the back and brought it up to me. Thank you Gilbert for helping me when no one else would. I was getting very upset with my 2nd bad experience in 5 days. I've been going to this store for a good 4 years. Its a great store till you need help or information. read more

Generally I really like the Gilroy Lowes store, but a recent experience has somewhat turned me away from going back. We bought a refrigerator from there. It was a good deal, but still not cheap. The one we got was just under $2k after taxes and such. Our old fridge was on its last leg and we needed a new one soon. We had to wait about 2 weeks for delivery. When it was delivered there was a dent on the front. The delivery guy gave us two options, we accept it and request a partial refund due to the damage or wait for a new one. The delivery time for the new one was going to be about another 2 weeks. We couldn't wait. We accepted it and I called Lowes customer service. They had a local store manager call me and he offered a credit to the card we used to pay. I accepted and I thought that was that. 4 weeks later, there was still no credit. I called the store back and after having to listen to their automated system for well over a hour to try to speak with someone, I hung up. Called again with same result. I called Lowes customer service back again and discussed the issue. They assured me the case would be opened again and I will get a call to have this matter addressed. That was on July 4th, so here we are 3 weeks later and still no response. I'm pretty disappointed with them, even though most other experiences have been positive. I guess if you know what you need there and don't have to deal with any type of support, you should be fine going. But beware that when the time comes where you may need assistance with a previous purchase, you may not be so lucky. read more

Today my MIL, & I went to Lowe's to buy her a refrigerator & a little mini-fridge to use till her new Whirl-Pool fridge comes in. Due to the pandemic it's causing a lot of appliances to be back-ordered (which is understandable). However... that is not the reason for my 1star review. It's the complete lack of customer service we received. My MIL went to Lowe's yesterday where she said a nice young man helped her & told her he would be working at the store today. He wasn't there. Then... the price of the refrigerator she wanted to buy was $200.00 cheaper yesterday than today. The girl working in the appliance section today (Nicole) said, the sale ended yesterday & that was the new price. I asked if they would honor the sale price & she said, there was no one she could ask. I said, "You can't ask the store manager?" She finally said she would. She came back & said, yes... they would honor the sale price. Then... when we asked about the mini-fridge... the one my MIL wanted to buy they were out of. We asked about buying the floor model but was again told by Nicole she "couldn't." At this point my MIL just picked a similar model & when we asked to get help taking the mini-fridge, I had to personally go get a flat cart clear across the store in the lumber section to haul it back to the appliances area to cart the mini-fridge to the front of the store. My MIL is over 70 years old. If I hadn't been there, she would have had No help. When at the register, the register system was not working right & we had to stand around & wait for Nicole to show up to ring us up. When we got into the car, my MIL was upset saying, while I was gone getting the cart, Nicole made her feel like my MIL was burdening her for just creating her order of a $1300 Refrigerator. What happened to customer service? I work at a furniture store here in Gilroy. If I ever made someone feel like a burden just for ringing them up, I would be given a stern talking to.
