A washer and dryer was purchased for this condo some years ago from Lowe's. Last month it was upgraded, purchased again from the same Lowe's to have it delivered, installed, and to have the previous units replaced. Sounds easy enough, right? The first employee arrived - Chad. He was professional, polite, and began working immediately. Everything seemed to be running smooth. I was surprised he had came alone, as we live in a third-story condo. Then, several minutes later, entered James. When I say entered, not the way you'd expect someone you pay for a install to enter a home. James walked in like a panic-attack, partially winded from the three flights of stairs, partially pissed off at the hot July day, throwing his shoulder in my general direction to avoid eye contact and greeting me. Anyone who has spent any amount of time in the Pacific Northwest knows this sort lack of social graces is the norm, but when it's your job, and you're in someone's house, it's insulting. Being irritated by his unprofessionalism, I proceeded to keep talking to him until he begrudgingly responded. This set the tone for the rest of their stay. He was further rude and unresponsive to my girlfriend as well. Everyone knows a James, you probably work with one yourself. You could be a James yourself and not even know it. The recipe is quite simple. 1) You have to hate customer service, yet ironically work customer service, and you have to do it for a long time, so you get bitter and triggered easily. The sort of subdued vitriol you experience from some bus drivers and postal workers. 2) You have to have a mastery of passive-aggressive behavior: exasperated sighs, eye rolls, walking at weird angles to avoid interacting, limited peripheral eye-contact, bitching out loud, but only just loud enough so it can't be heard. 3) You must maintain you're never wrong, and that the frustrations in your life are the cause of everyone else conspiring against you. 4) You have to constantly storm out of the room and disappear. That happened 4 times while he was there, leaving Chad to do more of the work. Seeing as there was now an established mood of mutual disrespect, I began to fixate on him, and all the things that irritated me about him. The half-sideburns: like what you might see on a guy from the 90's who might wear bowling shirts, or a trombone player in a ska band. Carpenter jeans. Unisex thick black framed glasses: In his defense, I've been guilty of this before. You get bored with the selection of men's frames, end up trying on a woman's pair, but then out of embarrassment, realize you're in the wrong section and remove them before customer service approaches you. I do give props to James for the ability to embrace his feminine side, despite dressing like he worked at Jiffy Lube. James looked sort of like Jason Galaxy, from the show My Cat from Hell. He looked like he could be a roadie for Barenaked Ladies. Like the first guy that gets cut from a World Series of Poker Tournament game. A man at home in a flame shirt, with loud muffler, a vape pen and a love of Nickelback. Furthers problems then arose when the replacement washer and dryer were slightly larger, making them impossible to pass through, without removing the fridge - its handle was in the way. So, instead of asking, "Could you please remove the items from your fridge" he avoid speaking to us, and tried in vain to slide the fridge out of the kitchen. I had just put probably 6 12-Packs of drinks, which immediately fell down and out of the fridge. A glass casserole dish fell, breaking the lid and the glass bottom of the fridge. None of us got upset, yet James marched out indignantly like a petulant child. The first washer and dryer were installed without the fridge having to be moved? How we were supposed to know it was going to be an issue? As I cleaned up the casserole and beverages, I couldn't help but feel sorry for Chad. Chad had to be around James all the time. Chad probably has an ulcer from the negative vortex that James creates whenever he's at work and not avoiding dealing with people. As they were finishing up, James' attitude became professional; explaining all the required info he's supposed to say after an install. I was half-fooled for a moment, and started to reflect that perhaps I shouldn't hold contempt for his behavior. Maybe he was just having a bad day. But, as if he was sensing my thoughts, he quickly stormed out without thanking, apologizing or acknowledging anyone, leaving Chad to finish up. We tipped Chad out of sympathy. He apologized for James' behavior. The quality of the work was great, so there's no complaint there. I just don't understand why James doesn't work in the loading dock at Lowe's so he doesn't have to deal with people. Why torture yourself? read more

We really like this Lowe's. We were disappointed when the Bellevue one closed, but find this one much more well-lit and organized. Now we would probably go to this one anyway. The employees here have been helpful, from finding items, to explaining how the process of buying an oven works. Returns are easy, and the store feels clean. We have historically been Home Depot shoppers, but are slowly starting to prefer Lowe's when all else is equal. read more

We went and asked for benches and the guy told us that they don't have it an I asked him so I order it online and he said yes. We kept walking and the benches were there!! Ok so another staff member was around and we asked her some questions and she had to tell us that they were closing in 30 minutes. Clearly they do not want to work ! We asked her if they had wood benches and she said NO. We looked at the wall and found one and we asked her" Isn't this wood"? On my Lord...what is happening. We did not even bother to complain or say something because they just don't care and they need weeks of training. Management please please re-train this people because I believe they can do better. A tale of two very different online experiences. I ordered some Nest smoke detectors for over $400 online. I also ordered another item online on HomeDepot.com I got a confirmation within 5 minutes that my order was ready for pick up at Home Depot. Cool. Meanwhile two hours later no notifications from Lowe's. I thought maybe Lowe's don't send such notifications and order must be ready. Like how long should it take to pick 4 items from shelf? Boy was I wrong. When I got there after two hours, order was still not filled. Not only order was not filled, they did not know who had the key to the cabinet where these items were locked. It took them over 40 minutes to bring the items to me. No apology or remorse. Word to the wise. If you value your time and sanity order from Home Depot online. read more

Great products. Not business user friendly waited too long to get order set up. Staffs were trying to assist but their computer system is difficult to work with. A couple highlights of our terrible experience: For example price shown on the show floor and computer reflect different pricing and took staff about another hour to fix. Another example when the staff entered customer phone number which was entered incorrectly it was difficult for Lowe's staff to correct it and we spent another extra hour between staff and cashier. I'm upset that it took sooooooo looong to purchase just a couple of vanities. Staffs at the store and the manager are trying their best to assist. I believe the corporate office really needs to improve this! Provide your team with a better system please you have a good team and provide them with good tools to take care of the business. read more

Very hard to get questions answered. We placed an online order, but had a question regarding some of our items. We attempted to call the store, but were unable to get anyone on the phone despite trying to transfer to multiple departments multiple times. In a last ditch effort, we tried asking their online chat system. This was useless. Our pick up went well, and our questions were answered in person. Had a great experience getting vanities. Dax was super patient while I worked through a few decisions and got everything ordered for delivery in no time! Delivery went smoothly despite an issue with one vanity having nicks and drips on a drawer. In the process now of trying to get it replaced. So far, so good. read more

Once again Lowes has let me down and I just placed another order with Home Depot. First online order for pickup took over a week to be ready. Tried again a few days ago and once again status is still order received. Got tired of waiting so went to store for items which showed in stock. One item took two employees 20 minutes to find. Second took 10 minutes to find items and move to stock and third one no one could find. This store is about as bad as it gets. Nearly every employee seems miserable and it would take a miracle in order for any employee to initiate contact with a customer and inquire if they need assistance. I asked to speak with a store manger and was presented with Scott who claimed that he was the manager. When I asked him about an issue I was having with something I ordered he just shrugged his shoulders and basically said he can't help and walked away. They scheduled and rescheduled the delivery multiple times and when they finally showed up they brought a broken fridge, no stove and a dishwasher that they wouldn't install even though the website says free installation. They didn't get a single thing correct. It's two weeks later, I still do not have any appliances. They have scheduled and reschedule delivery so many times now that I've lost count. Horrible customer service. 1) They had a customer appreciation barbecue outside a couple weeks ago, back by the contractor sales, so I assume it's for contractors (which my husband and I are). Walked by the barbecue table and they ignored me as I walked in to the store. They politely asked the older man (that followed in behind me) if he would like some BBQ. All men sitting at the tables outside eating free food. I didn't make anything of it, but the SAME THING happened on my way out. Manager asked men directly in front and behind me if they wanted hot dogs but ignored me. People say I'm paranoid... try being a female contractor for a day and then get back to me. 2) That same day I went in to sign up for a floor measure for carpet. Paid my $45 fee and asked checker when I would get a call. "Within 48 hours" they told me... it's been 4 days and nothing. Really? For days, I tried to call (425) 391-3355. The automation loops me around, no one answer the phone (for days!!! every day I just dial and press keys based on its manual options, no one answers and it would go back to main menu and loops me around. Complete train wreck. From the people on the floor, to the customer service agents to the manager on duty when I talked to him, which I believe was John. .We have a Lowes LAR account. Which means we spend a fair amount of money here which you would think means they might want to take care of the customer. Bahahaha.......I truly believe the people working here are the same people who would rather stay home and collect unemployment but for some reason have been forced into some type of service position at this store. Things I would rather do than shop at this store: #1 I would rather watch a hot dog eating contest in slow motion for 3 hours than shop at this store. #2 I would rather listen to a 4hr speech on the migration pattern of Tibetan goats #3 I would rather eat razor blades for breakfast for a month straight than shop here. I placed an order for vanities online and it was fulfilled through this Lowe's location. They called and left a voicemail about scheduling our delivery and read off an address I had never heard of. Our order receipt had our actual address on it. I spent 3 hours trying to get ahold of someone in the store to correct it - and was even hung up on at one point.. Finally I got ahold of someone who read back my correct address to me and said the man who had called must've read the wrong address. Fast forward to the date of delivery. Nobody ever called to confirm the time for delivery. I call the store and get ahold of the delivery coordinator. He claims the vanities were loaded in the truck and sent to the same incorrect address I had called to correct earlier. I asked him to contact the driver and let me know when he got ahold of them. The employee never called back. I called the store again to which the employee said he believes the driver has gotten the message but he doesn't know if/when our vanities will be delivered today. He then proceeded to tell me he was leaving the store and to call the next morning if they don't show up. Immediately after the phone call I receive an email from Lowe's thanking me because the order had been picked up. I call the store again to inquire about where the delivery is. The woman says the driver is two stops away. I ask her if she talked to the driver. She replies claiming I called a Dolly so I should know ( I just paid to have Lowe's deliver it ). I tell her I didn't call a Dolly and ask her how she knew where the driver was. She stammered and put me on hold for another 20 minutes. I hung up. The vanities never arrived. I waited from 7am - 9pm (the quoted timeframe) This is the worst experience I have ever had with any retailer. read more

This store has some really good customer satisfaction people especially around the pro desk and some really terrible ones (including Ty, manager). A bit of gamble of which one you will get. My loathing for Lowe's is no secret - just see my review for the Bellevue location. But I do want to give a shoutout to a gentleman named Alan that works there. He's honestly the nicest Lowe's employee I've ever met. Actually no, he's just one of the nicest people in a customer service position. My husband and I bought 8 patio chairs and he was just so nice - helping us move the chairs and strategically fit them into our car. Maybe because I've had such horrible experiences with indifferent and downright rude employees at Lowe's but the care he showed was just amazing. Ordered $1000+ of lumber and chose truck delivery. Was scheduled for delivery the next day 7AM-9PM. I called at 7AM the day of delivery and asked if they could add an item to the order. The customer service person called and said they were pulling the lumber but could not add any items to the order. Email from Lowes day of order said I would receive updates on delivery via email. It is now 6PM, I took a day off of work and have been waiting since 7AM for this delivery. They have my email and phone number and could not have taken the time to let me know approximate delivery time?? Even when they left the Lowes building surely they knew their delivery schedule they could not let me know a ball park time? No. They left me in the dark sitting around all day waiting. Now I am pretty sure I will not even get my delivery today. I don't know how they stay in business. 9/26/19 Update Delivery did not occur on 9/25 as promised. Got a call at 9:50 AM on 9/26 saying my order was ready for PICK UP. I called the 800 customer service number to find out what is going on. They told me delivery could not take place until tomorrow 9/27. No apology, no explanation, no attempt to make things right, no feeling that something would be done to prevent this in the future for others. Question is even if I did choose pick up why did it take them 2 days to collect the order? Home depot usually doesn't take longer than 2 hours. What a confused company. read more

Rick in Door Department made an appointment for us to come in at a specific date and time to make a final purchase on some French Doors. He no-showed for the appointment, someone said he went to lunch (it was 5:45pm and he was supposedly off work at 6:30!). When he called me at 6:50pm, he told me that Company policy said he had to take a lunch break and then finally admitted that he forgot he had made the appointment, that's why he didn't call us to tell us that he wouldn't be there. Such disrespect. Will be finding a new source for our doors. read more

This Lowe's has the worst customer service compared with any other locations. One time my gift card had issues, they refused to help. In the end I had to escalate to higher management to solve the problem. They also have a area for discount shelves for not looking good plants. However, they refused to honor the discount price when the plant looked good for them. They also gave me a look like I am a liar. Go to Home Depot please if you can, where they provide much better service and at least show you some respect. read more

There is nothing worse than me taking few minutes of my busy day to fill out a one-star review of a business that does not even deserve any star. This specific Lowe's store is completely mis-managed with horrible customer service. My bad experiences are not just one-time thing because they kept coming back in different form. Here are some: 1. I ordered online for in-store pickup, when I arrived, the items are just not there and they spent an hour to go around the store to look for it. While I know exactly where to get it, but I just had to wait. 2. Second time around, I called ahead for in-store pickup and the customer service woman said my items are in lumber, I have to call there. I called lumber area and they said just come to pickup. I arrived and the lumber guy told me I had to see the front desk. Well, an hour later, I was still waiting on the order to be filled. 3. I must be stupid to shop here one more time but I had to because no other locations have my items. So I decided to go for a delivery. Guess what, the guy missed the delivery and the manager said he would reschedule. 1.5 week later and 3 phone calls, I still could not get my schedule. Eventually, if your delivery block somehow got canceled (in my case, the driver got injured so I felt bad for him ONLY), you will be the last person getting rescheduled. It's the stupidest thing I ever know. Look store manager: If you miss a delivery date, you get that customer on the next shipment out ASAP and push everyone else. I don't want to be put on a 2 weeks later schedule. That basically 3.5 weeks from my original date. 4. I got so fed up and I called Lowe's Corporate number to fill an official complaint. Eventually the corporate lady helps me solve the problem but still, I got so many bad experiences, this doesn't feel good. The employees in this store are just literally lazy and "managed up" kind of people. 5. Recently I unpacked their delivery and realize I got a wrong item in the box. I came back to return in person and they said: Oh this item has not been onsale for 3 years!! WTF... I got store credit and walk back to get a replacement myself. Again, whoever filled the order completely FCK IT UP! 6. Finally I pulled out everything from the pallet and guess what, the concrete blocks underneath all broken in pieces. You don't pack heavy stuffs on top of thin concrete block cap. ID!OTS!! I am so tired of this location and the entire team. I will fill out an official complain one more time. This review is for the customer service, specifically the flooring department. The rest of the merchandise is just what you'd expect from this retailer, which is honestly fine- I still come here to buy tools and simple home décor items. But I will never EVER have them install anything again. I don't really wish to relive the whole fiasco that we went through with them, but it included: - misleading promotions: a $37 install magically becomes several hundred dollars once all the special labor fees are included - multiple employees lying to us about their procedure/policies - a last-second cancellation on their part (the night before, after we'd scheduled the install weeks earlier, and had already moved all our pets and taken off work to be there for them) - failure to follow-up and reschedule or compensate us for the mistakes - installers who did not communicate well at all and ignored some very basic requests - rude, disinterested customer service people/managers I had to call multiple times a day for many, many days to get even the most rudimentary service. I try to be polite, but I don't think it really served me here. Would screaming tantrum customers actually get carpet installed properly? Don't know, ymmv. But I don't think it's worth it - their pricing isn't really even that good. Try Fantastic Floors instead. We went with them after I literally started having nightmares about the Lowe's carpet people. No, I am not exaggerating. They are THAT bad. read more

Meh, not a great Lowe's. In Seattle we generally went to Lowe's if we were willing to pay a bit more and wanted a higher quality shopping experience. We went to Home Depot if we knew exactly what we wanted at Rock Bottom cheap. I have to say this Lowe's is really pretty lacking in customer service. I like that it is not very busy. The parking lot is usually only 1/3-1/4 full and checking out involves no lines. That being said, it's like pulling teeth to get help. Just yesterday I went in for some LED bulbs to replace some expensive and HOT halogens in some track lighting. I walked up to lighting with the bulb I was trying to replace. The man at the register (Lee, the lighting department manager) was too busy to help me. He told me to wait while he finished doing something on his computer for about five minutes. Ok, that's fine. He finally gave me permission to speak. I asked him if he could please help me find LED bulbs to replace "these" Halogens (and showed him mine). He simply looked at me and said, "Well, they're very expensive you know." WTF? How is a customer supposed to respond to that? "Thanks, I guess I'll just leave then." That's what I should have done. Do I look poor? Do you think the LED bulbs are a bad product? Do you just not want to help me? I told Lee, "Thanks, I know they're pricey. Can you help me?" He begrudgingly took me over to the light bulbs and pointed out what I needed. Great. I loaded up my canvas bag at $28/bulb. I cleared out the whole shelf but I still needed one more. "Thanks Lee. But I need one more. Do you have any back-stock?" It was only once he realized I was actually going to spend a crap ton on bulbs that he decided to change his attitude a bit. He got up on the lift thingie and found me one more bulb. Thanks Lee. I'm really sorry to have troubled you. Lowe's is a tiny bit closer for me than Home Depot but next time I will be going there. I'll bet I can guess why there seems to be such a disparity between how busy these two Issaquah stores are. read more

Such poor customer service I ordered a dishwasher a month ago that they said would be delivered in a week. As of two days ago they couldn't even find the order. Now they have some automated system that calls and puts you on hold for 30 minutes to schedule a time. Who knows when I will actually get this thing. Seriously, there must be a better place to get an appliance. read more

This review is for this store location and also Lowes in general. We are in the process of getting blinds installed in our home. And it is THE most painful experience ever. The measurements were very quick and smooth. However, everything after that from purchasing blinds to finding out what is happening with our order have been very disappointing. There is no way to find out what the order status is. I have tried contacting the store where no one picks up. And the 1-800 number tells me I need to call the store. One of the main reasons we chose lowes is because we were told that the installation can happen by a specific timeline. It is now well past that timeframe. And the experience hasn't been that great. read more
