All of the single starred reviews are very much warranted. I went to another Lowe's (Long Beach Towne Center) a few weeks ago and I was surprised at how empty and well stocked it was in comparison to Home Depot. Therefore, I decided to stop by this Lowe's on Bellflower Blvd on the way home from Signal Hill. I had previously did curbside pick up of four 3 x 5 (36" x 60") mirrors from Lowe's and realized I would need some more equipment to hang it. Upon reading the back of the package at home, I found that it gave recommendations of items I would need in order to successfully install it. Specifically, a metal J-Channel, and fixed screws, among others. I went in and asked where I could find a J-Channel to hang a mirror. The first staff member prompted me to aisle 15. I found the aisle, but could not identify the item. I saw door wedges and things of that nature, none of which read J-Channel. I left and asked another staff member if he could identify it for me. He said he worked in electrical, and would paged someone overhead to the aisle to help me out. Another staff member comes to aisle, and is literally clueless. I explain what I need and the purpose. It was as if I was speaking another language. She then asks not one, but two of her other coworkers to see if they could help me to simply find this J-Channel, all to no avail. It was truly mind blowing how...useless the employees were. They might as well have worked in a supermarket. No form of specialized knowledge whatsoever. I eventually found the object myself in the mirror aisle. But, I understand why Home Depot has the high volume of sales and customers that it does and why Lowe's is empty. read more

Went to this store today and experienced terrible service. I walked around lumber for 15 minutes while my daughter went looking for assistance. The store does not allow you to cut your own moulding which is sold by the foot so you are at the stores mercy waiting for help. After 3 requests a guy showed up to cut the piece of moulding. I then requested assistance to find some moulding for an exterior door and the guy was completely knowledgeable about their wood products. He took me directly to strips of 1x2's and suggested I router the curves into the wood stating they only get the wood I see and there isn't anything manufactured to trim doors. Is this guy serious? Is it because I'm female he figures he can talk nonsense??? After a couple additional experiences of lack of help in the store we proceeded to the front and requested to speak to a manager. We were told Chris is the manager. When we asked to speak to him we were told he isn't in today. So essentially they are trying to tell me there is no manager on site? Lesson learned, Home Depot is not far way and they hire people that previously worked in the product line (plumbers, electricians etc). read more

Caprice, in Kitchen Cabinets was AHhh- Mazing! She helped me with a small project with the patience and professionalism of a big dollar project and put me at ease with every question I posed. She returned my phone calls promptly and when we had to resort to emails, she was full of info and kindness. I almost wish I had the space for more projects just to work with Caprice again :). Thanks to Lowe's for hiring employees with grace and nuance for those of us that are just trying to make our homes more pleasant with no background in home improvement. read more

Another pleasant experience here. I had to return a painting tarp, and buy the next size up larger tarp. The transaction went smoothly and I only had to pay the difference in cost. I was in and out in ten minutes; no waiting at the Returns desk. They even let me buy the larger tarp there. Thanks Lowe's. read more

We ordered a stove and a microwave for delivery and installation. The sales Person was knowledgable and helpful. His name was Brandon. Unfortunately the efficiency and helpfulness Stopped there. The first attempt for the delivery of the stove was a failure. The delivery and installation team didn't call to let me know they were there. The delivery was in a condo so I needed to let them in. I wasted a whole day waiting for them. When I contacted the store, the phone just rang and rang and no one answered. That night I had to drive to the store to find out what happened. We rescheduled it for next day. The second delivery was successful. The microwave we ordered and payed was sold at the store and we were told they didn't have another one. Again, I tried to call the store to see what could be done. No answer again. I once again drove to the store and the Manager named Aaron basically said he knew their phone does not work and has been that way for months. What kind of business does not fix their phone so customers can call you? We cancelled our order. Not a single person tried to make it right for us. They just apologized and waved me good bye. It was bad enough when the dishwasher we purchased here arrived with an obvious dent. But a dent can happen en route and we just straightened it. Identifier label on both product item n shelf clearly identifying same I have learned 2 take fotos 2 verify I'm charged correct reduced price. At self checkout scanned item n referred 2 cashier 4 help eventually told item couldn't b sold. Told it should have been pulled off shelf, maybe there was a problem with item, they didn't have 2 tell me why they couldn't sell item n took item from me mgr rude n said nothing that made sense. Went 2 a diff Lowes, 2318 Northside, San Diego At their clearance section same LED brand but 2 diff sizes also on clearance n certainly being sold, not taken off shelf 4 whatever hazardous situation kept other Lowes from selling 2 me. Mgr told of what happened earlier n I showed him my photos he scanned item no from my photo n said it rang up on his end so there was no recall. What an abuse of power n customer practice. Not sure why this Lowe's gets so much hate. I built an entire accessory unit on my property with 85 percent of the material coming from this store and had a very positive experience. Fermin in Millworks was great to work with and he still greets me by name every time he sees me. I have found the store to be clean and the staff to be helpful. I find it funny that a lot of people who give one star reviews because they suck at DIY. The woman who said she bought two gallons of paint that didn't match and one-started the store: they aren't supposed to match. The machine is not that accurate. You were supposed to mix the two gallons into a larger bucket before you used it. To the other people who complain that curbside pickup was slow or discombobulated - people were doing their best to help you during a pandemic. Get over it. Be grateful. Horrible experience when trying to pick up an order placed online. Placed an order for online pick, for one the confirmation email to pick up our items was sent after the store had closed so i had to wait until the next day to pick up my items. Once I arrived at the curbside pick up I was told my items would be out shortly, waited a hour and no items came. Went into customer service to see what happened and was given and horrible customer service from an employee named Carlos. Not only was my order never pulled but they had the audacity to act as if it was my fault. Do not recommend coming to this Lowe's or placing online orders. After having to cancel my order I drove 15 min away to another Lowe's and got all my items myself in a mere 10 minutes. Nick and Randy "made it right" - the delivery coordinator of DSI personally handled the delivery of a working unit and helped ensure it was fully installed. After being installed, my unit refused to initiate the spin cycle and my clothes just sat in a drum full of water. I pulled up the service manual for the unit (using manualslib.com), figured out how to read the troubleshooting codes, reset the codes, and tried again. It worked, but it's temperamental. Sometimes the lid fails to latch, so we have to press down on it to get that red "lid locked" light to shine. After speaking with Nick (appliances manager), Lowe's agreed to issue a 5-year warranty to save me the headache of another three-month logistics adventure. This is nice because it lets me avoid dealing with DSI, it saves Lowe's time, and it protects us in the event that these small issues become catastrophic issues. We can now do laundry, but with a temperamental unit that occasionally throws codes and requires fidgeting. Better than nothing, and I do believe Lowe's did everything they could to help. Every experience I have had with this store over the years has been excellent. I met the manager Mike on this trip. He was respectful, cordial and helpful. Their employees are as well. The store is clean, well stocked and well laid out. Their subcontractor installed my glass shower stall. They did an excellent job. LOWES 7300 CARSON LONG BEACH CA Subject: Purchase Patio Set 02/11/2023 Three-times Delivery delayed at the last minutes 2/11/2023 purchased a patio set (Eliot Creek) at Lowes Home center at 7300 E. Carson, Long Beach, Ca 90808. I was schedule to get everything delivered and paid for assembly cost. Deliver Saturday, 2/26/2023 time between 2 to 6 PM. Receipt Attached $1089.27 Strike One: Saturday the drivers show up at 1;00 PM and the patio set was not assembled so they took it back to get this handled. I get a call from Lowes at the same time they are changing the delivery to 5 to 9:00 PM, this was while the drivers were returning the Patio furniture that was not assembled. I went to the Long Beach store and talked to Curtis who was the manager. Told him the situation and he said he was sorry, but he could have it delivered another day. We picked Thursday deliver, 3/2/2023. I told him I wanted to notify corporate, he asked me to allow him to handle it. He expected them to mess up again, but he was crossing his fingers. The delivery coordinator called me that same evening said she was sorry and was glad I gave the drivers a copy of the receipt. She said she could have it deliver on 3/2/2023. She would make sure! Strike Two: 3/2/2023- I received notification deliver is between 2:30 to 6:30 PM. 6:00pm came and an automated message comes in saying they will deliver on 3/3/2023 between 12-4 Pm. They notified me 30 minutes before the window of delivery was over. No human called to apologize or explain. I am tired of sitting here waiting to get what I purchased. 6:00 PM I immediate contact Curtis and told him what happened. His answer to me was there is really nothing he can do he does not handle that area. I told him there is something he can do, be a manager and call them and find out why my order is not here. He said he would do that. I get text message from Curtis asking me if I was waiting for a waterline, that is why they held up the order. Since I only ordered Patio Furniture I cannot for the life of me understand what a waterline is needed for. He said he told them it was only Patio Furniture. He said he was waiting for a reply from delivery coordinator. that was at 6:59 PM. 9:30 PM and still no reply back from Curtis. He did ask me what time I want to schedule the third deliver attempt, I said Saturday, 3/4/2023 and I want to be the first delivery. I am expecting Strike 3. I really wanted this patio furniture but am totally overwhelmed at the lack of responsibility and care of your company. No one cares, they just push it on to someone else. I have been shopping at Lowes on Bellflower for about 10 years and every time it has been a positive experience! The customer service is alway good and today I witnessed something so awesome I need to share. I was in the checkout line behind two older folks who were having a little difficulty with checking out. They had purchased a refrigerator and the woman had questions about the delivery price which Johnathon was patiently answering. The man was trying to pay and having difficulty putting his card in the reader. Then he said his card declined. Johnathon told him to check his phone because he had heard an alert go off. He was explaining to him it might be an extra security step because of the cost. The man checked his phone and discovered he had put the wrong pin the reader. So he redid while Johnathon answered a few more questions about the delivery process. He was so patient and kind to these two lovely folks. They finished their transaction, thanked him, and then left. I compliemented Jonathan for his patience and kindness and his response was "always be kind. We need more of it and I spread it daily". It was so refreshing to witness especially since so many people are angry all the time nowadays. read more

The associate literally walked away when I said I hadn't decided on a model, hadn't bought a range before, was just starting, and I had some questions. With his back to me, he said to look around and then he could answer questions. I said I had looked around online and had some questions. He chatted with an associate about the weekend, and I approached and again said I had questions. He answered 2, and then said he was going to go answer some other questions. It's surprising when someone is so rude when you're trying to spend $1,000+ in their business. After this experience, I went to Home Depot -- where the associate was FANTASTIC! All we wanted to do was get copies made of some small mailbox keys (therefore couldn't use the self-serve kiosk). We waited by the key cutting machine while the older associate named Bob finished helping another customer. After he was done with her, he proceeded to not acknowledge us and leave to go help someone else. I went over to the customer service desk to ask them to page for someone to help us with our keys, and Bob continued to ignore us and help other customers. This continued for ten minutes before we finally accepted that Bob wasn't going to help us because he probably assumed that we, as a young, married, home-owning tattooed couple, were simply up to no good and not worthy of his time. Well, now the feeling is mutual, Bob and Lowe's. It's ironic too because Lowe's is allegedly very supportive of our veterans, but Bob never would have known my husband is a decorated army vet. This review is for Jay! I recently opened a salon and had to renovate my entire space. I know NOTHING about renovations, but was able to accomplish it with the help of my family and JAY who works in the plumbing department at Lowe's. He helped me pick out the perfect toilet and bathroom sink (weird measurements) and was so patient and helpful. Then, weeks later on another visit my dad sent me to get the materials we needed to hook up my kitchen sink. I HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS DOING. When I saw Jay there I was so relieved. Not only did he remember me, this kid literally FaceTimed my dad to make sure we had everything we needed. He used to be a plumber so he's very knowledgeable. Tried to get a door purchased and installed. Paid, and a contractor (sub-contractor for Lowe's). According to Firman Called numerous times to speak with Furman at Lowe's, We needed another contractor to redo measurements and complete paid for (unperformed) lead paint testing. Called many times, and when able to speak with Furman, he said, "They didn't call you yet?" Called him back many times, and he never called me back or when he was supposed to he was ironically (conviently?) at lunch. Eventually went into store to get money refunded for incomplete work. In store public service was good, just don't expect the same for having work done. Contract work customer service sucks! Mostly excuses, no calls as promised, or unreturned calls. I ordered a Whirpool dishwasher July 31 Saturday online & it says it was available. Called the Central Long Beach store & tried to get through to customer service to check on a scheduled delivery & install. After being on hold for 35 minutes, I finally hung up. Tried again & again throughout the day no luck. I tried again the following day & no answer. I decided to go ahead & drive to Lowe's on Monday August 2nd & check with customer service for a delivery date & install, I was told I should be getting a call in a few days to let me know when the delivery & install date. A few days passed & no call to confirm delivery/installation. I checked online & no status of delivery & installation. It's now Thursday & I haven't heard anything from Lowe's, again I try calling customer support, no luck I guess they don't answer phones, called appliances & after trying several times someone answered & I asked for a status on delivery & installation. They told me they have no control on delivery & install scheduling, that would be customer support ARRRRGH are you kidding me??? Again I drive out to Lowe's on Bellflower Bl & go to customer service, this time I was told it was getting delivered Saturday 8/7 after a week of waiting, now mind you the dishwasher is available at the store, I chose to get it delivered & installed for an extra $100 because I have no vehicle that will fit a dishwasher in a box. Had I known it was going to be this much of a hassle I would have borrowed or rented a truck to get the dishwasher myself. So on Friday I called customer service at 7 am & after being on hold for 25 minutes I got through, the gal says, oh yes scheduled delivery is Saturday. I asked if they had an approximate time? She said they'll call you before they come out, you'll definitely get a call for sure. Ok I'll wait for the call Saturday. Saturday comes around, "NO CALL" cancelled what I had going Saturday to wait for the delivery/install & nothing!! I wasted Saturday waiting for them to come or call & nothing happened. I was frustrated & furious at this point & didn't want to deal with Lowe's. It's now Sunday over a week has passed since I last ordered my dishwasher!! I call customer service at 7 am & spoke to Leslie, I told her the history of what's happed with my purchase & asked her for a status of delivery, she puts me on hold & after 5 minutes she says she's not showing any delivery date on my dishwasher. WHAAAAAAAT??? So I told her that this is unacceptable & poor customer support, I've been told earlier that week that it's being delivered/installed & now there's no record of it?? She said well, it's not our responsibility to call you back because the installer is a 3rd party vendor who does the installation!! So I just requested for her to call them & request status. She replied well, today is Sunday & they might not be open. At this point I've given up & just told her to call tomorrow & have them call me. I'm just going to try & pick up the dishwasher myself today & have it installed by someone else. This has got to be the MOST FRUSTRATING experience with Lowe's & I've been shopping Lowe's for years. I'm not sure if upper Management or Corporate reads these comments, if they don't, they need to!! This is not how you do business or treat Loyal customers. I have all my appliances for my condo and from my rental property from here and my parents we all get our appliances there and after today no one in my family will be coming to Lowe's ever again. The delivery guy called and said I'm 45 minutes away at 1:40 I have all the texts and calls and screenshots. He never showed up to deliver the fridge. I called the number back and asked him are you still coming tonight? He said was there a complex number? I told him yes. He said oh we went I have a picture for proof but Lowe's did not give us the apartment number. If that's true why did you ask if it was a complex if you were there and took a picture? I have that text and phone call record. And then he says my bad it's the drivers fault. If you call to say you are 45 minutes away when you got here why didn't you call and say can you let me in I am here? It's common sense. If you have a phone to take a picture for proof that you did come to this address how can you not call the customer and say I'm here? I then went to the store to talk to Evan after calling the store to try to talk to Carlos for the past 2 days and have been on hold for up to 52 minutes and no answer. I tried to call Carlos yesterday when they were trying to transfer me and he didn't pick up. All Evan could offer was a 10 percent discount for their mistake? He then schedules delivery for yesterday on Friday. They did a no call no show on me. I took another day off work. I then called the store to ask where is my fridge. Hilary answered and said there is no delivery scheduled for today. I told her that's not true I have the confirmation email in front of me and Evan did schedule it for Friday. She stayed silent and said I'll give you a discount on delivery. How? If delivery is free. Then she said it will be priority for Saturday morning. I told her fine but If it's not here by 12 I want a full refund and I'll take my money somewhere else. She said it will be here priority. So tell me why I get an email in the night saying it will be here Saturday night. That's not what was discussed. I called the store to try to get a full refund last night and the girl said someone will call you before 10 pm and no one called me. So I called Evan this morning. Because it's always lies with them since Thursday. Lowe's says it will be here Thursday and it doesn't come. Lowe's says it will be here Friday and another no call no show. Lowe's says it will be here Saturday morning and obviously that's another lie. Evan said he cannot do anything to have it priority this morning. He can only investigate as to why it was a no call no show yesterday. That is not making it right. 10 percent off my purchase is not ok either for their mess. Lowe's is accountable for all this. For how loyal I have been thru all these years they should do something more about this mess. After today my family, friends and I will not be doing business here because like everyone I talked to keeps saying yeah 10 percent is not ok for all of this. This is how Lowe's treats people that have been doing business with them for years. I will go to Home Depot it is fine and keep accruing on my Home Depot Pro Account since Lowe's is not doing anything to make this right to where I am happy. If someone has been waiting for delivery for 3 days a manager should call the delivery company and tell them to make my order priority for this morning. It's common sense. To hold no one accountable for this is disgusting. It takes less than a minute to dial the number for the delivery company and tell them make her order priority for this morning. read more

After purchasing about $900 worth of parts and finishing a huge sprinkler project, I tried to return about $150 worth of leftover parts with original receipts. All I can say: Lowes staff and manager kept using "store policy" to deny my returns while avoiding any eye contact. Lesson learned: Never use Lowes for big complicated projects. read more
