Stay away from the Mill Works Department at Lowe's New Hudson, if at all possible. After 17 months of battling for the installation of French Doors, I finally got my money back. In between that time, they ordered a door that did not fit to the measurements they took; ordered a door in which one of the doors did not open; installed a door that warped and leaked within 2 months; and finally, ordered a door that opened the wrong way. Throughout the entire process I was portrayed as being at fault for ordering the wrong size door from the start. That said, the measurements were taken by Lowe's Installation representatives and never provided to me. After holding my money for 18 months, I had to prove exactly what I had paid them and they still argued with the amount. If it's a business that doesn't have anything to do with food, then usually people come to yelp to complain. So here I am doing the opposite and giving praise where it's due. I've been to many big box stores and the culture and customer service at this Lowe's in this specific point in time is amazing. Stocked up on a wide selection of items in every department and good amount of discounts that leave me feeling I saved some cash. The paint kiosk feature at this location is amazing, minimizes room for error on the customers end, straight to the point and efficient. I'll be going out of my way to come to this exact location. I was replacing an outdated ceiling fan with a new one and needed to return a part that I didn't end up using and depending on how my conversation went with an employee, purchase a different part. The return was easy and the woman helping me was nice. They spray down the counter after each customer! After my return, I found someone in the fan department. I wasn't sure if the existing adjustable bar hanger that holds the electrical box needed to be replaced. Long story short, the employee that helped me seemed knowledgeable and helpful. I ended up buying a new part to finish my ceiling fan install. read more

This is a story of service recovery. We have a Bruce prefinished floor in kitchen and foyer put in 11yrs ago by Lowe's. They did a good, if not perfect, job then. Went back to said Lowe's, to order and have installed, a matching floor in our dining and living rooms. Contract signed 12/16/19. Special order- take a while. OK. Lowe's has contracts with an outside co for install now. Flooring was delivered on 2/1/20. Install was scheduled for 2/3/20. Installation Services called us as well as the installer on did 2/2/20 to confirm install on 2/3/20. On 2/3/20 the installer called to say he locked his keys in his girlfriend's car and he couldn't arrive until 2/4/20. We called Lowe's and install services. They were at least able to get another crew out same day. Huge! We both took days off for this. The best part is that the 2 guys that did the install were outstanding! Elton and Markel did a great job and saved the day.. I would give Elton and Markel a "5". Install services a 3-4 for at least responding appropriately. They still overcharged us to install vents we bought/ finished. Lowe's gets a 1 at this point. read more

First time here, just moved to MI. My boyfriend and I were looking for a specific tool box and we asked one of the workers at the cashiers he points us to "somewhere on that side of the store" we look can't find it, we ask another cashier on the other side of the store and she does exactly what he did "they should be under tools by those cash registers" though we said we already looked. So we just ended up checking out and buying what we had and the first cashier said "oh didn't find what you were looking for?" We replied with "no we didn't we'll go to Home Depot." FYI it was dead in there. Only reason I rated a two star was because it was clean in there. read more

Lowe's seems to have what I'm looking for, more often than not. It's the "looking for" part that costs a couple of stars, though. I'm not sure who planned the layout of this particular store, but it makes very little sense to me. For instance, why would blue Loctite, used on screws, be eight aisles away in the middle of the paint department, instead of next to the screws? The people in different departments always offer to help, and actually are quite helpful when you engage them. I'll never forget the guy who shamed me in to fixing my leaky outdoor faucet when I came in looking for a cap to "winterize" it (read: prevent a massive icicle from forming on the side of my house... again...). I'd be lying if I said he wasn't right. More often than not, they have everything I've come for, which is pretty nice. They've never given me a hard time about returning things, and with the Lowe's credit card, you get 5% back on everything. Since their prices are as good or better than many places (e.g. bottled water, fertilizer, salt for water softeners, some cleaning products), I've found that shifting some purchases over to Lowe's is a nice way to maximize savings. read more

It's exactly what you would expect it to be. Nothing too miraculous about this particular Lowes. We have had a front door and carpet installed by them. Both projects were done in a very timely and professional manner, no complaints. We have also purchased several appliances and other household necessities here with no complaints. All the employees here are nice and seem to know their stuff. I would recommend them if you need certain projects done however, I didn't have them put in my bathroom sink because installation costs WAY too much (more than the sink itself). Also, they are a bit pricey on garage doors and openers, Beckway down the road has better deals. read more

Bought a Master Forge grill a couple of years ago from Lowe's. The entire grill pan has rusted out and the grill is no longer useable. The local store will do nothing to support the sales/service of this grill outside of a 90 day return policy. After researching this grill online, it is clear that this is a recurring problem with Master Forge grills. Master Forge was a private label line manufactured specifically for Lowe's but they refuse to do anything about the defective manufacturing of their products. My new grill purchase will come from Home Depot, Lowe's has lost a customer for life. read more

What is the point of trying to get people to sign up for Lowe's rewards when they don't even work with you to streamline your experience? I have my paint order history under mylowes yet I can not call in an order for another gallon of the exact same color so it's ready for pickup - not even if I offer to pay for it over the phone!?! What a waste of time that I just don't have! Here's a suggestion on how to grow your revenue: Take a lesson from grocery stores and start implementing convenient ways to work with associates. Families with small children aren't going to come in and wait around for hours for someone to help them (especially with smaller staffs these days). Also, when someone leaves their number with a department along with specific information that was review for a good amount of time and are told someone will call you back - pssst. Call Them Back!!!! So much room for improvement at these types of stores!!! read more

I went in here a few days ago and was helped by a woman by the name of Shannon Simon. She was pretty knowledgeable about her work, Then she started saying and complaining about some ex friend of hers who keeps following her. she was telling me about a personal matter that involved a ppo. I do not care about someone else's business. I told her I wanted to speak to her manager and she said you are looking at her I am the store manager. I called back the next day and spoke to the actual store manager and the manager said "Well Ms. Simon has had some issues with people stalking and harassing her. She was just letting you know about this." I called corporate lowe's I spoke with the regional director he said he would be getting to the bottom of this. After speaking with the store manager and the employee. I am not sure what has happened to her. They sent me a gift card I am not disclosing the amount that was on it.
