Lowes delivery is the absolute WORST! I will never deal witht them again! If I could give zero stars I would. They said the machine I bought is to be delivered one day, then call and say they can't deliver due to a "fire". Then they were supposed to deliver the next day at 12:30. No show. I call and they say 5 pm. No show. Then I call again and said they were too overloaded so i have to wait 2 more days when they reopen. I can guarantee i wont see them that day either! They need to get their s @#t together. read more

And after I witnessed a worker chew out another worker right in front of me I have decided I will pay the small extra money for the products I am in need of at a smaller home improvement store. Salespeople Mike and Ashley in the Appliance Department went beyond expectations to assist us in buying a new refrigerator/freezer over the Labor Day weekend. An elderly gentleman whom we were assisting was facing surgery in a few days when he found that his refrigerator had stopped working. That produced a bit of anxiety due to his need for ice packs and other items post-surgery. Entirely by phone, Mike was able to locate the perfect appliance already in the store, arrange for our purchase the next morning, and Ashley was able to get it on the truck for delivery that very night. We ordered an electric range from Lowe's (online) five weeks ago. The delivery date was just changed for the 5th time. The last time I complained (after the fourth delivery date change), Lowe's gave us 15% off the invoice, but that doesn't even begin to make up for the hassle of taking time off from work (and losing money), fully expecting the delivery, just to have it rescheduled yet again. This is not our first negative experience with them. We will take our business elsewhere. read more

I'm thoroughly disappointed with this store. 2 of the past 3 times I've been in here there has been a major staffing issue. Today I went in to take advantage, like I did this past weekend - the 1 good time, of their great sale. I went on my lunch hour to get some bark (mulch) which was supposed to be available in Black, Red or Brown. My friend went with me as well. When we got to the mulch section we found that the only color available at ground level was black. My friend went to ask a clerk for assistance only to be told and shown that they didn't have enough staff. There was clearly Red and Brown mulch on a higher rack which would have required a forklift. She was informed that only 1 person was forklift certified. He then showed up at a very slow rate and hopped on the forklift only feet away from us. We thought he was coming to get down the Red and Brown mulch. However, without even speaking to the 3 customers standing there, he just jumped on the forklift and went outside. We thought maybe there were more pallets out there. Then, we saw him cruising around the outside of the store to the front. After over 20 minutes of waiting we decided to go up to the register and just pay and have them hold the mulch for us. Once up there we were informed that they didn't have anything but Black still available. I find this very odd as I stood there and looked at the other colors. Seemed to me that they just didn't want to spend the time to get it down for their customers. My previously bad experience was only a week or 2 ago. I purchased a new mower from them. Got home and started setting it up. Once I got to the add oil portion of the setup I realized that the oil valve had been broken in shipping. I took the mower back on my lunch hour the following day and it took almost an hour for them to do an easy exchange. I ultimately had to go get my own replacement mower off the shelf as the 5 pages by the Customer Service clerk went unanswered. The best part of this is, when I was walking to do my own exchange I saw no less than 5 employees hanging out and chatting. Not a single one of them with an actual customer. Once I finally found another cart and loaded the mower I came back the Customer Service counter only to find that the girl helping me was now fully engaged with another customer. The wait again begins! You can see from my post that this is truly a "do it yourself" store. Get your stuff, scan and pay for your own stuff, and then do the follow-up service on your stuff. You will not get any help from anyone at this store. They may tell you where it is in the store, if they actually know, but they certainly aren't going to help you get it. I would recommend staying away unless you know exactly what you want and where it is. I am familiar with the issues of working retail as I am a Retail Store Manager myself. If my employees treated my customers this way we wouldn't be in business long and they wouldn't have a job here. read more

Having recently bought a house we have been looking to replace appliances. We went to Lowes and had the best experience with Jessica and mike in the appliance department. They were both able to answer any question we had and give suggestions when they could. I have received calls after our refrigerator was delivered to make sure everything went as planned. I love the redding Lowes. I'm always greeted with a hello as I enter the doors, and as I'm browsing the isles I get lots of employees ask if I need help with anything. I will continue shopping at Lowes since they make me feel important! read more

The building supplies I'd ordered (see my original review) was delivered last Wednesday, as planned. I was somewhat concerned about the delivery, because my property is in the middle of nowhere, but Paul the Delivery Guy called me the day before to get detailed directions, and that proved to be a non-issue. I was also worried about the fact that the build site is only accessible up a bumpy dirt road, which then becomes really narrow and windy for the last 300 yards or so. When Paul showed up with the flat-bed delivery truck, he made it up the dirt road without any problems, up to that point about 300 yards from the build site. I gave him the option of just dumping everything there, but he said "I don't want to run from a good challenge" and offered to bring one of the big pallets of supplies up to the build site using the fork truck. It took at least 20 minutes navigating that narrow road, with me walking in front to help him avoid trees and rocks, but we made it up there. That pallet contained well over a ton of materials (20 sheets of OSBs, 10 sheets of siding, a stack of insulation, windows, a door), and had he not taken it up there in the fork truck, it would've taken at least a day for my friends and I to haul everything up by hand. But, there's more! Today, I went back to Lowe's to try and exchange a couple of windows that I got in that delivery. They delivered the right thing, but I just decided to get something else. As luck would have it, Paul the Delivery Guy happened to be at the commercial sales desk, and when I explained what I was doing, he went through the trouble of walking me over to the returns desk, and summoned a manager to make sure I got the same 20% discount on the items I decided to get instead. And the thing is, he's the Delivery Guy, so it wasn't even his job to deal with me, and on top of that, his shift had ended an hour ago! So, I hope they give Paul the Delivery Guy a brownie too. read more

Just saw a mom put her son on a forklift in Lowe's to play. The kid discovers the key in the ignition and the mom takes it. An employee comes over and asks her to move the child. She hands him the key and walks away. He puts the key back in the ignition. I question why they would put a key in something they know kids are attracted to and walk away. Anyone could drive the forklift. The employee tells me protocol is the key stays with the forklift and he walks away. So basically protocol over common sense. Yes it is parents job to make sure kids don't touch things like that but anyone who is sue happy will take advantage of the situation. read more

If you go back to appliances, ask for Tom D. He has a lot of experience and Lowes is lucky to have them back there. When I bought my washer there initially, I told the gentleman exactly what was going to happen. It was going to take several days longer than promised to get it delivered. Sure enough, not only was it late, it was damaged . Long story short, Tom did what he could to fix the situation and make everything right. He saved Lowes on this one for sure. read more

COVID policy in garden center needs somebody to use their head...... In line with the wife in the garden center. They have garden items outside the garden center exit five feet away. Stepped outside to grab a tomato cage twenty feet away and the cashier said I couldn't come back in because it was an exit only and I had to go around to the front entrance due to their COVID policy. She said it was for our own protection. My wife is five feet away in line. So, for my protection........ They are making me walk all the way back through the main entrance door, continue on through the whole store to get back to the garden center, passing at least 50 more people than I would have come in contact with had I just walked five feet back into the store from the garden center exit where I would have come into contact with no one else. Use your head people!! I refused to walk around. Ridiculous. If you aren't going to let people back in that exit when they step outside to grab a garden item ten feet away and come in contact with no one, stop putting your garden supplies outside the exit!! read more

This Lowes sucks.... They told us a week before delivery our fridge was in the warehouse and we were waiting for our delivery date. The night before delivery they called to say they needed two more weeks to get the fridge from the manufacturer. They told us we could have the display model. We had asked to buy that when we were in the store originally and they said no. When they delivered the display model it had dings and scratches in it. We refused it. Then I called the store manager and demanded a total refund she didn't seem surprised or really care. I got the feeling she refunded money a lot. I used to like the Lowes store in San Jose. I never had a problem, they were always great to deal with. I hope this is an isolated problem with the Redding store. I really do like Lowes, but I will never go back to the Lowes in Redding. read more

i purchased a door knob from lowes and hired a handyman ($50) to install it. upon opening the package it was discovered that parts were missing and two different brands of parts were in the package. i returned the knob and expressed my frustration with not only having to return to the store buy paying another minimum fee of $50 to a handman. they refunded my money and did not offer to make things right. i took my purchase to ace hardware where i should have gone to begin with. read more

After our experience at this Lowe's store, we will NEVER shop at a lowes again! Price marked on the shelf: $6ea, price charged at register: $10ea. Wait a minute, this is marked as $6. That's too bad, it's a bar code, I can't fix it. Walk back, take a picture of the price on the shelf, return to customer dis-service. Customer service dept: we can't help you. Ok. I want to return the $300 worth of merchandise I just bought. You'll have to wait in line. The sign says if there are more than 3 people, you open another register, there are more than 3 in line. "We don't have anyone trained." Manager observes the whole incident and does not help, he just walked away. read more

We purchased a home full of appliances including a range, dishwasher, micro hood, refrigerator, washer and dryer when Lowes was promoting their best sales of the year. We did not need to install the appliances until the remodel work on our home was done. The remodel time exceeded the "return policy" deadline and we had left our appliances in storage intact in the original packing boxes. When we went to install the new appliances, the washer and range was damaged, evidently when being shipped to us. When I asked Lowes to assist me with this problem I was informed that since it was passed their return time policy I would have to pursue a remedy on my own, even though the products shipping boxes had never been opened. I was told I should have unpacked the products while stored and see if they were damaged. I am led to believe that Lowes is not in the business of delivering undamaged products, but rather that it my responsibility to insure that a Lowes delivered product is undamaged. As a previous business owner I find this policy of "buyer beware" customer totally disrespectful to any customer at large. But... BEWARE read more

I was in the market to buy a fridge and they had a nice Samsung one I really wanted. There were probably 10 dents and scratches all over the thing and it was already marked down so I went to ask an associate, who asked the manager, if I could get any more off, considering the extreme damage. I was told I'd get a little bit more off which would have paid for tax. When asking the associate anything about the appliance she had no idea and would keep guessing instead of finding out the information for me. So with asking another question she didn't know, that we later figured out on our own... she ended up having the rude woman manager come over. When the manager came over she said "are you finding everything alright" as rude as someone possibly could. And when I asked if she could come down any more on the price, because of the severe damage, she said "I won't come down any more." Which could have been put in nicer words, I am trying to buy a fridge that will hopefully last 10+ years after all. It's a big commitment. My last question to her was if it came with a filter. As she went to check, she slammed the door against the pillar by the fridge (adding more damage) and said nope doesn't look like it, that'll be 60 more dollars. So we simply left and went to Best Buy where they have exceptional customer service and purchased a fridge there for a much better deal. I will never come back here for anything so thank you, rude woman manager and unhelpful staff that run from you when you follow to ask a question, I am glad you chased me away to a better deal read more

Depending on day and time of day their customer service is good or really bad. Lately it has been pretty good, but the guys in irrigation seem to be better than the norm. Navigating narrow isles with 20 ft pvc sucks. Try to go in when they aren't busy. Other customers are not pleasant when you need to just get past them. read more

I love the Redding Lowes! The manager Ian, is so helpful and loves giving back to the community! He has helped multiple non profits and schools throughout the years! (The picture is from a school mural project that Lowe's donated all the supplies and paint for!) And on a personal note Lowe's has helped us make our house a home! They are always helpful on ideas and supplies for projects, if they don't have something I need, they get it in quickly (and often ship it right to my door), and have a wonderful variety of everything you could want for your home or yard! I purchased a whole new kitchen of appliances through Lowe's and they worked hard with me to get the best deal and exactly what I wanted! They even did an amazing job installing it all and removing the old, broken appliances! They are even helping me find all I need to remodel my bathroom this winter! I purchased carpets at Lowe's and after waiting for 2 months I decided to check in on my order. The order was supposed to be delivered and installed within a 3 - 4 week timeline. When I called I was told by Gina that this order would be looked into and we would get a call back. Gina did not call back. After attempting to get ahold of her again she was unavailable both days I tried to call. I called back the employee that helped with my order Larry and he helped me understand the issue and why it was taking so long. But he told me to call at the end of the week to check in about the order. Larry was incredible helpful and apologetic about the whole situation. Once Larry informed me that the carpets had come in I figured it prudent for me to contact management about this and to let them know that I had been neglected as a customer for the past 2 months. As I am not in a huge hurry to have these carpets installed it isn't that big of an issue. But when I pay $2,000 in advance I expect to be at least notified that the install will be pushed out a little while. At lease a phone call. When I finally got to management I was talked through their process. And how the person I was putting the blame on was actually not at fault. Turns out after talking with Jennifer, one of the managers, apparently no one is at fault. Supposedly it is my fault that I didn't realize they would not inform me of the status of my $2,000 purchase. So Jennifer had no apology or sympathy for my situation. Not even an "I am sorry that happened". As a very level headed and customer service focused individual I am very let down by the management that I spoke with. Cheers to Larry for the help and I hope Jennifer comes to terms with the fact that a "sorry that sucks" goes a long way. read more

absolutely terrible customer service and treatment. only after complaining about a 30 minute wait to have a washer machine brought to the front of the store did they actually do it. That was only after having to go through customer service twice to deal with the fact that the washer they were saying they had zero stock of was actually showing 6 in stock online. so when they checked they didnt even apologize for the inconvenience, instead they brought up a broken washer, which seems like they broke it due to the complaint. and it wasnt even official, so now it is, the manager on duty 11/16/2020 is an idiot and jerk. dont spend your money here go to home depot and just do it yourself. the washer was dented and doesnt work. had to take it home about 45 mins away from the store just to discover the damage and fact that it its internally broken as well. this ought to be fun trying to return it. read more

I have been to Lowe's four to five times during the last three weeks purchasing various items to complete my shed and have not had any problems doing so. The service/selection has been fine but I am perplexed as why there are so many dogs inside the store. This was not a one-off but every single time I went there. I am fully aware of ADA compliance; these are pets, NOT service animals. One woman released her dog while I was in the lumber section today and it was getting underfoot with some of the customers. Did the cooperate office decided to expand their operations by opening a veterinarian clinic as well? I simply do not understand why people feel the need to bring their animals inside a hardware store. read more

Literally the worst service I've ever received. Their delivery program is a joke. I got an automated phone call at 9:31pm the night before delivery to notify me of scheduled delivery time. Twelve minutes until the end of my delivery window the next day, I get a phone call notifying me of a new delay and giving me another delivery window. Twenty minutes after the latest possible delivery time, my oven shows up, without the gas hose to connect it. After several phone calls with their customer service, I'm still waiting (over an hour) on a return phone from the delivery supervisor to explain whether he's bringing me a connector or buying my family dinner. If you cannot walk out of the store with your purchase, buy it somewhere else. read more

I needed some help with a list of fencing material that I was given by my fencing contractor. I was a little unsure of what some of the items were. Even though it wasn't his forte, Chuck in the garden/patio department took my list and researched every item to make sure I was ordering exactly what I needed. We went over the quote and he ordered everything to be delivered out to my location. He followed up to make sure that I received everything and was completely happy. Chuck was a pleasure to work with and is a great asset to our local Lowe's. I appreciated the personal attention and was extremely happy with the service that I received. I just finished building a detached garage myself and spent about an equal $5,000 each at Lowe's and Home Depot for portions of the project. I have been into this Lowe's about 25 times in the last year alone and customer service has always been good. I am surprised that some reviewers could not get help. One advantage Lowe's has over Home Depot is the call buttons in various departments. Push the button and there is an automated public address announcement that a customer needs assistance at electrical, wood cutting, etc. Their employees obviously get rated on how fast they respond as it is always quick and they want to acknowledge the button push quickly. Home Depot has nothing comparable. Lowe's also returns into the store and keeps available their shopping carts of various types better than Home Depot. At Home Depot I look for the cart I need in the parking lot since otherwise there is a good chance i will have to return outside to get it any way. I have done special orders (Hardie Board, windows) at this store and not had a problem in the past with delivery or quality. Lowe's will also give veterans a 10%discount on Veteran's Day which is always nice. One of the best benefits for consumers is having both Home Depot and Lowe's in the same town as service will be better as they try to stay competitive. For lumber products I found that Systems Plus Lumber Company in Anderson has lower prices, good service, and delivery charges to outlying areas much lower than Home Depot, Lowe's, or Meeks (say $30 instead of $100). read more
