He was very personable and ended up giving me back my money plus some extra for the inconvenience and wait time. Second time at the Rockford Lowe's location I had real bad customer service, first time purchase a washer and dryer and didn't get it delivered on the date scheduled so call over and the day the best can do is reschedule another date or I have to pick it up myself. Second times is what happened to was got refrigerator delivered today but the item was damaged and I have to wait tell the item go back to them then I can be issued a refund or I can go to the store and make another purchase and wait two more week to have it delivered they have no attempt to try to get me a new one delivered asap or try to find someone to get it delivered quicker then a week. It sad that I'm a Lowe's credit card holder and make all my purchases at Lowe's for all my home need. But now they will never see me in here no more calling the credit card company to close my account too. read more

Bought a washer & dryer set advising that it was imperative that I receive the next day. I was told by the salesman that it would not be a problem and would definately have it then. The dryer showed up but not the washer. Evidently the sales person didnt put delivery on our washer, but charged us for it! I was advised by the trucking company that they can get it to us 2 days later, fine...now today is that day and just received a call from the trucking company that they cannot deliver. Talk to the store manager and she advised that there is nothing she can do. Won't even call another store or even try to make it right! This is the worst customer service ever. After spending over $2000.00, you would think that you would do what you can to make your company's error right, but not so much. Lowes delivery guys almost killed me and my five children. I bought a LG dryer about two weeks ago. I've been drying a lot of cloths, because my dryer went out about three months ago, so I had a lot of overflows. Good thing no one smokes in my house. So, I've been smelling a little gas here and there but thought it could possibly be coming from my gas stove. I thought no way could it be coming from my dryer because I got it installed by guys who are professionally trained in installing a deadly gas hose. So i checked everything, and couldnt figure out what it was. Superbowl sunday come and i invite family over for the BIG GAME! My sister smells gas, and also thought like I did and said the stove cause we were cooking. Finally, my uncle says hey this is coming from the dryer which is located in my basement. We call the fire department, and they make all of us evacuate the house asap. There was so much gas that they couldn't believe we weren't all passed out. they brought in their big fans and shut off the gas and call Nicor gas company. The gas company explains to me that my installation was very poor and that sadly this happens more often than Youd think. I couldn't believe it, Iam a single mom and don't know anything about gas hoses and gas smells and had trusted the installation process. Please check your installations! This could have been worse. We purchased a refrigerator from Lowe's - to be delivered June 4, 2021 between 8:30 and 12:30. Lowe's contracts out their deliveries. We never received the already paid for refrigerator. The delivery company blames Lowe's. Lowe's blames the delivery company. No one knows what happened or how to solve the problem. Apparently no one cares either. I was told by one employee he had been at work that day for 42 minutes. I was the 3rd person with this problem in that 42 minutes. The 6th of the day. We went to New Milford Refrigeration. My mom and I went to purchase a refrigerator from Lowes sometime in March or April 2021. The refrigerator we wanted had the incorrect icemaker included with it so we opted to go elsewhere. In the interim my mom went back and picked out her own refrigerator and low and behold picked the same one and the salesperson sold her the refrigerator with the wrong ice maker. When the refrigerator arrived and they attempted to put in the ice maker it didn't fit. They in turn took the icemaker back and ordered the correct one which cost approximately $40 more. It has been on back order order since she ordered in April. The part finally came in the first week of July and I had called to set up a time for the ice maker to be installed. It got cancelled at least 2 more times. In the meantime my mom had a stroke and was living with me so I was still working on getting the icemaker installed. I called the store and spoke to a couple of people who were very rude and explained to them that they needed to call my cell number for installation. They stated they would make the note. I was to get a call the night prior and no call. I called the next morning on the day of the installation and I was told they made the delivery and no one was there. They never called my number after stressing it many times I needed to be called, not my mom. They had in fact stated they called her number and went to the house. I set up a time for the following week and spoke to someone else who insisted she changed the number and I would get a call the night before to give the window of time. Again no call the night before. I called early the next morning and again they had already been there with no phone call. I again called and spoked to yet another person and they stated I could pick it up and I said NO we needed it installed as my mom was a senior and she paid for that service already, I spoke to someone yesterday and was told I would be scheduled for early this morning after 7 a.m. Set my alarm for 6 to make sure I didn't miss the call. I called at 7:30 after receiving no call and was told they moved my delivery till this afternoon. I am so angry and frustrated with the run around. Not sure yet if I will be getting the icemaker today yet. This is the absolute worse service I have ever received. At this point they should refund all money and still install the icemaker. This has been a whole month of time wasted in trying to get an icemaker installed. If there was an option I would give a -10 for service!!!!!! read more

We were told up to 5 weeks for our carpet installation and it came in 4. It took 2 days to get the entire 1,900 sq. ft installed. Installers were kind and courteous. Love our new carpet! So soft and great cushion. Will have to see how well it holds up to our children and dogs. Only negative thing I would say caused my 4 stars instead of 5 is that the flooring department seemed a little disorganized due to a new hire. We bought an LG refrigerator and service contract which was almost out of time when I called to schedule a service call to replace the door seals that were letting go on the corners. This was back in January when we had extremely cold weather. The service man came and said he would order the seals and be back in about a week or so. (However, he originally showed up early in the morning without calling first which I had requested.) We never heard anything back- after a couple more weeks I finally got to a manager who was very apologetic about the whole thing. He put me on hold for about ten minutes and came back on the phone to tell me he really hoped he could make me happy about this whole experience so I said "What are you going to do- give me a new refrigerator?" He said no, he couldn't do that and he hoped we would come back to Lowes when we do decide to buy one AND that he was sending us a check for $978, the original price we paid for it!!! This is long but worth the read. I really wish I could give zero stars. My husband and I have been converting a school bus into our home the past few months and just finished. We spent multiple days a week coming for supplies and we left unsatisfied each time. Literally each time not exaggerating. (We had a business account with them so we were building credit otherwise we would have never come here). So, expect no customer service, nobody there knows what they're talking about. I have recently ordered kitchen cabinets and a granite countertop. I found the salesman very accommodating. But I had a major problem with their contractor for the Granite. The company they used was H and H countertops. They scraped and gauged my walls bring the granite in. They brought a piece of granite that was cracked in the corner. And then they used caulk and duck tap to adhere the dishwasher to the granite. Lowes is very hard to reach when there is a problem. I had to leave messages to reach the salesman and waited up to a week for a return call. I ended up doing all the coordination on the installation and dealing with the problems. I had to have them back out to fix the crack and attach the dishwasher the correct way. I had to have my hallway painted from the damage. I am really glad this ordeal is over. read more

Kitchens I started working with Lowe's on my kitchen remodel in late 2013. Nearly one year later, things were finally getting installed and resolved. It was the project that just keep on giving, in a very bad way. I took from November of 2013 to late February of 2014 before the Kitchen layout was done and things were ordered, but within a month, a pricing discrepancy was discovered and they canceled my entire order and gave me back my deposit and we had to start all over. this should have been my tip off to run. I went back to the designer and we ordered everything all over again; this time it cost me more. OK, I can see where they made a mistake, but again.. I was the one losing out. In late March the product came in and installation started. Low and behold...wrong finishes! it took two managers and a factory rep to finally see that boy, did they get it wrong. it was like I had some other order. right cabinet design, wrong finish. Wrong granite color and wrong counter-top layout. 6-7 weeks later, during the second install I found construction issues and asked for those to be taken care of. On top of that, the counter-top for the peninsula was wrong; this was twice now. so, a week later, the new counter-top was delivered and the install was completed and I was assured they would get it all buttoned up and done. Weeks before they did the final install, I pointed out a design defect and asked that they provide a support panel to the right of the dishwasher to support the filler panel and the side of the dishwasher. I was assured all would be taken care of and the install was completed. Lowe's made it right by me price wise, but had me sign a document that I could make no other claims against this order or installation. Now fast forward to early 2018. My dishwasher started to leak. I called around looking to buy a new dishwasher, when a local shop discovered that the dishwasher had never been properly attached and had been moving around in the space for the past nearly 4 years. The very thing I had asked Lowe's to do construction wise, they never did and as a result, the dishwasher was free floating in the opening all these years. Lowe's had NOT put in the proper bracing on the right side of the cabinet as they indicted they would. I called the local store and was told that was just too bad that they had no responsibility for anything that was or was not done in the past. And too bad for you that without that side support, your dishwasher pulled away from the connection and started to leak. Now I have to pay a cabinet fellow to come out and put in the support panel that Lowe's said they would do way back in 2014. Moral here, buyer beware. Make sure all the things you take issue with are inspected during your install. I love my cabinets but hate the fact that the issues I pointed out, were never addressed. read more

Horrendous experience with the appliance department. My wife and I ordered a fridge, washer and dryer for our new home labor day weekend. It was expected to be delivered 9/22 when we moved into our new home. We received a call that they wont be delivered until 9/24 which we needed a fridge in our new home. The customer service person we were working with said well we have 3 fridges in our warehouse but they are all damaged and we will send you the least damaged one and if you are not happy with it, we will order a new one. This was the first issues because we received a new fridge damaged and of course did not like it. On top of that, when the delivery guy was dropping it off I said we will need to order a new one because it is damaged. He said "Ya I told them they aren't going to like a damaged fridge so why am I delivering it". So we call Lowes and tell them we would like a new one because we are unhappy with the one that was delivered. This customer service person said that its in high demand and they will need to order from the manufacturer which will take 4-6 weeks. Over the passed few weeks we received calls about our fridge (which was one of the damaged ones) and washer and dryer (which was already delivered) being delivered to our house. Finally we call Lowe letting them know we keep getting calls about these delivers that we don't need and we are just waiting on an undamaged fridge. That customer service person told us that we didn't have an order for a new fridge. So after an hour on the phone they figured out the issues and order the new fridge. One of the "customer service" people we talked to was trying to blame this issue on us and kept cutting me off when trying to speak and that we ordered from the wrong store and that was the issue? We ordered online to deliver to the store in Rockford!!! We still got calls about our washer and dryer being delivered that week. After calling Lowes multiple times and waiting weeks for our new fridge the best they can give us is 10% off for the trouble. I would just like to say lowes at this point we could have had two sets of a washer and dryer and another fridge which would have cost your store about $2500 if we were to accept those deliveries due to miscommunication and the best you can do for us 10%??? Ill take my business to home depot across the street. Very bad experience with Lowe's on East state in Rockford. My husband and I purchased a John Deere riding lawnmower to be delivered to our home. John Deere's are not cheap! Lowe's offers free delivery but unfortunately our lawnmower was never delivered so who really cares if it's free. It was supposed to be delivered on a Sunday, then we got a call the day before delivery saying they don't have flat bed delivery service on Sundays so had to reschedule it. Sales person should not have allowed us to choose a Sunday if it couldn't be delivered on a Sunday. Next, they offered to deliver it the next day( Monday) so my husband took the day off work. Got a call on Monday morning from them saying it would not be getting delivered and that it also wasn't even put together yet. I called Monday after work and spoke to a manger and she put me on hold for over 10 minutes to speak to the mechanic to make she he could put it together to be delivered on Wednesday( our next availability). She guaranteed it would be put together and be the first delivery in the morning, Wednesday. So again, my husband took another day off work. We received a voicemail Tuesday night saying our delivery was scheduled, not for Wednesday morning as promised, but Wednesday between 12:30-4:30. It's like WTF, is anything the truth at Lowe's?!! He gets a call Wednesday morning from the girl in charge of delivery saying, yet again, we would not be getting our lawnmower and it wasn't even on the truck. This time, he tells them, they have had 3 chances and we are done and getting our money back. All we heard were excuses at Lowe's! Even one of the girls at the service desk told my husband they didn't even have record of us purchasing anything at Lowe's in June. It's like really? We obviously purchased something if it's set for delivery, you people are all incompetent employees, from the sales person to the manager to the service desk to the person in charge of delivery. Absolutely horrible customer service. I purchased my French doors from Lowe's over a year ago, and there has been nothing but problems since installation. Lowe's is very quick to take your money but does not stand by their products when there is a problem. My French doors get ice on the inside during the wintertime. This was supposed to have been fixed a year ago, but never was. I have been calling and asking for an installer to come to my home to fix the problem. Every time I have called Lowe's I always got the same response "I am sorry, I will have a manager/installer call you this week". I never received a phone call back. I finally called corporate who put me through to an installer and a date was set for the installer to finally come to my home to fix the problem. The installer showed, left and said he was going to Menards to get supplies and never came back. I have called the installer twice now and left messages with no return call. On October 30th I had an over the range microwave installed by Lowes. The installer set a matt on the stove to protect the glass surface and somehow turned on the burner causing a fire. He then proceeded to take the burning matt out side dropping hot ashes on my hardwood floors, leaving burn marks. He then took my old microwave got in his truck and said "good luck getting that fixed". He refused to even clean up after himself leaving charged chunks of melted matt everywhere. My stove is ruined and Lowes will not do anything. It took them three weeks of me calling daily for them to decide nothing will be done. I have left a rant for Lowes with a promise that someone form the Central Production Office would be in contact with me within two business days. I have followed up weekly with Bryan N. with Lowes Customer Care and he keeps assuring me it is being escalated to the management team. After three weeks, I still have yet to hear from anyone. I guess Lowes really doesn't care about their customers. I have canceled my credit card and will never shop in a Lowes store again. As an owner of multiple homes, I always have some kind of home improvement project going on. Menards and Home Depot will get my business from now on. read more
