The choice to return an on line purchase to the store wasn't mine. It was the only return option for the item that didn't work. I thought it would be a simple stop on the way home from the bakery. Not so! My bad back had been especially awful with the weather this week. So I searched for a handicapped parking space on the parking aisles near the entrance. To my surprise there were none. What I had thought were handicapped spots were for customer pickup. The only reason I can envision this parking choice is for the convenience of their employees, not their customers. Down the aisles I drove until I finally found handicapped parking. They were on an aisle near the exit. I walked to the exit door and found it wouldn't open. There was a checkout clerk nearby who wasn't busy. So I knocked on the door.....several times. He finally came & let me in. I told him there needed to be handicapped spaces near the entrance door. No reply. Why couldn't they at least let the exit doors open from the outside? The sign for Customer Service was far, actually near the entrance door. After waiting in line, I was really struggling. And it was obvious. When my turn came the young woman clerk looked at my box as if it were an aberration. She turned to what was obviously her supervisor so I said "I have the scan for the return on my phone." I had it opened & ready for her to ask for the entire time I was in the line. While she was processing the return I told her that there should be handicapped parking near the entrance door. No response. Was I invisible? After I had my return receipt I had to walk back to the exit to get to my vehicle. The whole experience was a nightmare. I hope I never have to return an item to that store again. The value of my having to pay return shipping would be worth not having to experience pain & poor customer service. read more

Let me begin by stating that I have ALWAYS received excellent customer service at this Lowe's on Holland Road Virginia Beach, and this time was not exception. I guess my issue is more about their policy, not the customer service. I purchased this Project Source filter #5638704 and it says it replaces the LT800P but it will not screw in at all. The worst part is that Lowe's will not let me return and pay the difference for the OEM LG model because I tried to install it and they can't 'resell' it. How can I know if it works if I don't try it? Why would you want to resell something that doesn't work??? They seem to care about their profit much more than customer satisfaction! I promptly found the LG version on their shelf for twice and much and paid for it, just to make sure that the issue was the product and not my fridge - it worked fine of course! I was told to contact the manufacturer. I can't really blame the manufacturer because sometimes things just don't work right. But I bought it from Lowe's, so I would expect THEM to contact the manufacturer and make sure I leave satisfied. I went to BBB and learned that they are not accredited - and I can see why! I wonder how Home Depot would have handled this situation. I guess I may find out because that is where I will be spending my money from now on! read more

7-26-23 I'm so glad that I had pleasant and fruitful experiences with staff that were helpful, friendly and patient. I needed a specific Sherwin Williams color and thankfully the nice lady in the paint department was persistent. She found the paint after several searches. But then the next two difficult questions followed, which sheen and how much paint? I anticipated the quantity question. However, uncertain on the sheen type. I figured it would be easier to show staff than to explain. So with anticipation, I took pictures of my shutters and measured my shutters to have a rough figure of the quantity I might need. Next time I will take video as well, so it's easier to see the texture and determine which sheen is needed or heck, just take a picture of the printed label of the last paint can I purchased of the same color. That makes it incredibly easier. Fortunately, my neighbor was able to assist me to confirm the proper sheen, so I didn't need to drive back home. They have a sample of the various sheen types to compare. The knowledgeable young lady also happily assisted me in deciding tools/equipment for my project. She even caught me while at the self check out to provide the paint stirrers, I had forgot to acquire as I was checking out. The young man (staff) at the self check out also provided great customer service with a smile and possessed a wonderful disposition as well to ensure my transaction reflected my military discount. PS. They already have Halloween paraphernalia. I have no idea why the reaper band duo brought me such joy when I entered the store, but it did. I'm a plumbing contractor for over 30 years. I've often said Supply houses are my second home due to how often I go. The cashier service is so bad I have to place this review. It's August /15 Time : 15:03 The cashier at the self service (the only one open) had a such a negative attitude, she looked like she hates her job and those who ask questions. This young black woman needs to be relocated in the back doing inventory or working the graveyard shift. Keep her away from customers if you decide to keep her employed!! Cashiers and floor personnel need to be always friendly and respectful, having to load material, check out yourself and on top of that a lazy person standing looking miserable and hating you because you need assistance is a bit too much!!! The next time I go there, if she is standing there, I will walk back out and head to Home Depot. I know it's a social issue but please provide some training to your staff.... read more

If I could give this place negative stars then I would. I waited an extra 2 weeks for my purchase(which they were happy to instantly take my money for. Over 500 dollars) only to find out that they never even gave the product to the shipping company. When I got in touch with FedEx with the number that Lowes gave me, It turns out they never got it to them. They gladly took my money and just refused to deliver what I paid for. This is shameful and no way to run a business. Then to top it off, I got 38 AI messages in a row, telling me that they couldn't help me or provide refund confirmation. Now I'm still currently on hold for 30 minutes and counting with the store itself (which told me that my order is "still on the way and will be delivered by January 1st") it's January 18th. This used to be my local Lowe's when I first moved here but now that I live almost out in Pungo I don't venture here too often. It's been several years since my last visit here for something but today I needed an outdoor replacement light fixture and Lowe's is the company that carries it. Easy to find the light fixtures though they didn't have the specific one I needed in store, I was able to order for a quick delivery sometime next week. Store is well kept and clean with loads of parking and staff roaming around. Plus that cheesesteak stand outside smells Devine!!! read more

I wanted to write this review because of the exceptional service I have received over the years and especially my last few experiences. I went in to the store close to closing time and inquired about delivery for a upcoming job . i was informed about the pro program and decided to sign up. I quickly gathered my lumber and supplies with some assistance for delivery on the upcoming weekend. of course I forgot a few things . and my wife informed me of another project she had in mind so we added more things for delivery. all with relative ease and phone calls. delivery was delayed a day but they kept me informed and the extra day was not a deal breaker because I built in a little extra time . the order arrived as promised . everything looked great . later when I went to unpack vanity , the marble was broken and instantly halted the project. I called the store and was informed pro desk was closed but a manager would assist me . within an hour I was back to store and back home with everything taken care of. This was also on this Thanksgiving weekend. Thank you Lowes and especially the crew that helped on this project. It was about 6pm that I was in the area of Lynnhaven Mall, thought since I was out and about I needed to get some trellis for my cucumbers growing in my little raised garden. I found little nice black paint, coated steel ones that hopefully wouldn't rust and would be sturdy to withstand heavy winds and rain. They were reasonably priced at $16 a piece, measured up to about 6 feet tall and about 2 feet wide at the broadest top part. Oh so about Lowes ... there aren't lots of people, when I got to the garden center, it felt quite serene to just be the only one to walk around the well lit and orderly area. I was originally looking for two wire panel trellis but couldn't find any even when online showed there were more than 10. I asked some gentlemen who were manning a firm lift stocking up on garden soil bags. I interrupted them but they didn't mind (good customer service!). They told me where to find what I was looking for. Am glad I found what I needed though not the original one I sought. Plenty of choices at Lowes! read more

I went to buy a live tree. 6 foot at $59.99. The Cashier was Marylin and there was an associate with her named Kisha. I used my military discount. Then I went to Samuel and he cut the end of the tree and wrapped it in netting. He tied it onto my car real good so it wouldn't fall off. Marilyn, Kisha and Samuel are the nicest people. I was really pleased with their service so much that I will not go back to Home Depot for anything. Lowe's is my favorite store! There is a Dominic's right out side that fills the air with delightful aroma from the food. Staff is always friendly as you walk in. You never have to search far to find help. I'm EXTREMELY dissatisfied with the experience I've had with Lowe's for my carpet install. I ordered the carpet on Oct 21,2024. A person came out and measured and 8 days later they said it was in stock. I paid $5,727.55 on Oct 29th for our carpet and installation. Come to find out, the guy only measured 3 out of 4 bedrooms and I didn't find out about it until after paying for everything. He never mentioned anything to us about not being able to measure because of "too much stuff" in one of the bedrooms. Originally, we wanted 2 bedrooms, stairs and upstairs hallway done and then the other 2 bedrooms so that we could move furniture, etc. They wouldn't break the order down into 2 installations or adjust my bill to cover 2 bedrooms, hallway and stairs so I cancelled my order on Nov 5th. I was told I'd get a refund within 10 business days. They refunded me only $1,143.79 and still owe me $4,583.76. I've called 4 times now. Each time, I was told that they fixed the problem and the refund would be here in 10 additional days. It's Dec 21st now. Still no refund! I will never shop at a Lowe's again and will tell all of my friends and family about my ordeal. This last phone call to Lowe's, the girl told me to call back on Monday to speak to someone. I'm completely fed up with how they run their business and just want my money back. Since then, I had carpet installed by a reputable company for half the price Lowe's was charging and they did a wonderful job. read more

What a disappointment with a customer service representative that my mother and I interacted with during our recent experience at this particular store. I had high expectations of this Lowe's, but unfortunately, the service we received fell short of those expectations. During our interaction with the representative, whose name I did not catch, however, she was working last night, Feb 28, 2023, female Caucasian in the appliance section around 7:35pm, was horrible. I found that her unwillingness to assist with questions was unprofessional, unhelpful and rude. Her tone was very much dismissive and I could tell she did not want to assist me and my mother. When your employee can beat me to the exit of the store before I make it there, that already confirms she did not want to be at work let alone be of any assistance to the store's customers. Which then leads me to the impression that she did not value my business or care about my customer satisfaction. My recommendation - don't go here! My husband I went in yesterday around lunchtime to purchase grout cleaner and a brush. The customer service on the floor was amazing. The check out process needs some improvement. The four self-checkout registers were full. I believe it was register 12, or whichever register is next to self checkout, was open, light on, and staffed by and older woman. We walked up to her register and SHE TOLD US TO GO TO SELF CHECKOUT! She didn't leave for lunch, but just stood at her station. Now if I wanted to WAIT, we would've stood at self checkout, but SHE WAS OPEN! Lowe's if this is how your cashiers are, lazy and rude, then just make all your registers self checkout. We purchased new kitchen appliances on the 2nd and were told they were in stock. We arranged for installation on the 12th. When the 12th arrived, the refrigerator did too but the stove and microwave didn't. First, we We told they weren't in stock. Then we were told we had to contact the installation contractor directly to schedule our delivery. The installation contractor passed us off to their subcontractor who said they needed permits for the work to be filed with the city. When we talked to Lowes, they waited until we said something on th 12th before even filing for the proper permits. Ridiculous runaround from this store! read more

And after today's experience it drops from 2 stars to 1 star. I got a new bathroom light at Home Depot and it looks great. Only issue is the mounting part is smaller than my old light fixture so I had to do some touch up painting. I found my bathroom paint can I had gotten from lowes and realized I left it cracked and it had gone bad. But good news, right? I still had the barcode on top and the paint sample to match. Even with the barcode at their fingertips they couldn't match their own color. Now I have to come back to my rental another day to paint yet again because they can't match their own paint. Ordered some doors to be installed in March been dealing with them since. Yesterday was installation day and low and behold the installer calls us to say the store Ordered the wrong one. The installation went fine not a call from the store. Went to talk to a manager and they couldn't really tell us other than the swing was wrong. Today got a call from the millwork dept not to give an answer or a new window just wondering if we wanted a refund. They have a most excellent selection of lawn ornaments, lighting, bird baths, flowes, herbs, veggies.. you name it. Much of which, the depot did not even carry. Yes, I am comparing, no I don't care. Overall, this is your typical home improvement store. When you come in, the place is generally neutral in colors. It really looks like just a big warehouse of stuff. Over the past few months, I have had made a few bigger ticket purchases. My latest one was for a dishwasher. When I purchased my house, there was no dishwasher. After looking at both Home Depot and Lowes, Lowes won out. The biggest reason was due to price, as well as getting a rebate for purchasing a Bosch dishwasher at the time. Another plus was that by using the Lowe's card, I was able to get 5% off the cost of the refrigerator as well. A few weeks later, the dishwasher was installed by a contractor and everything worked out well. The overall shopping process in store is not too bad. However, the times that I have been in there, they seemed to have been short staffed. There was one person in the appliances area, so when the representative was trying to work with us, they had to keep stopping to acknowledge other customers just looking around and asking questions. I don't put any blame on that to the representative, but I would to management since they needed to be better staffed. When comparing this place to their competitors, they do have a few advantages. One thing is that they tend to have a much larger garden department and selection. The other advantage is that you automatically get the 5% discount or special financing right at the register without asking when using the store credit card. At Home Depot, they give the same type of discount, but you have to specifically ask for it in order for it to be applied. Overall, I've had great experiences here and would not hesitate to come back and look around when I'm in the market for another large project. Overall, prices on most items are competitive with other home improvement stores in the area. read more

FOLLOW UP: Here it is 12/5 and all of my windows have yet to be installed. Those that are a not right. The front bay window opening is the same as the kitchen opening, yet the glass is 1/2 inch smaller. They miss measured again, but instead of fixing, reordering or whatever, they put flashing on the inside to cover the gap. The large side by side window in the back is also miss measured...flashing, un caulked, is there too. As I type this I've been in hold for SOMEONE in management for 31 minutes. I read over the reviews going back 5 years and the horrible customer service is reported multiple times each year. I wish I had read those first. I requested a measurement for doors at my condo at the beginning of December. I was told that I had to pay $35.00 which I did and someone would call me in a week to schedule the measurement. I never received a cal. I went in the store on January 1st and spoke to a manager and was told someone would contact me on January 3rd. I'm still waiting for the call. Dear Lowes before you say it didn't happen please check your cameras. I was in the Lowes located at 2403 VA Beach Blvd in Va Beach, VA between 1245 and 1307.on 8/18/23. I needed a new trimmer and was in that section, which is monitored by a security camera that LITERALLY tells you on the screen it is recording you, a sales associate came thru with a white female (remember this) whom he was assisting with a blower purchase, the associate was very courteous to her and gave excellent advice on her future purchase which he loaded into her cart he even provided her a neat little trick to prevent her purse from being stolen while shopping which I thought was very nice. During a break in their conversation I managed to get his attention to let him know I too needed assistance in which he promptly came to me after finishing with her. The associate helped me with my trimmer concerns and was extremely knowledgeable. After deciding on my trimmer choice the associate unlocked the trimmer and walked with it to the register being stopped repeatedly by other shoppers to answer their question and I assumed he was going above and beyond for me because I had no cart and was carrying other items. Now here is were thing got interesting. Once at the self checkout register I thanked him again and assumed he was going to get back to the shoppers who were waiting on him but nope he stood there as I used my Lowes credit card to make my purchase even assisting me at one point using my card even though there was an assigned associate there monitoring the registers. Folks I am THE definition of a gentle bear at 6ft3 and over 300 lbs and clearly middle aged I spend my retired life chasing butterflies and drinking wine so I couldn't understand why I was getting his undivided attention then it dawn on me...Is it because I'm black? Now it may very well be a Lowes loss mitigation technique so I don't want to outright call it a race thing but I just couldn't let go the fact that he had loaded that blower into a cart for that white female and sent her on her way but he stayed with me from purchase inquiry to purchase. To be clear the associate was extremely helpful and I am happy with my purchase it's just one of those things as a black that makes you go "hmm". Did I mention I once worked for Lowes? Yeah. Anywho perhaps a current employee or loss prevention associate for Lowes can chime in and would I go back? I most definitely will. read more
