I purchase online and pickup curbside. I've purchased/ordered large planters, multiple 2 cubic bags of soil and amendments, various tools and other gadgets. Best way ever to shop. I go in store to buy their clearanced plants and have never regretted a thing. Most of the plants can always be brought back to life especially the perennials. I place large orders for my tradesmen to pick up. I do this often with Home Depot and don't ever have any issues, but with Lowe's it's always a nightmare. I spend a good chunk of time only selecting in store pick up items, but when I send for them they can not fulfill the entire order. They charge you a numerous times holding up available funds. Last time I went in there and picked up the items in this store that they said were not in stock when they actually were. When speaking to a woman at customer service I expressed my frustration and she didn't seem to want to provide any solutions. I explained to her I was over charged and never received items in my order and she responded saying, "it is what it is". After leaving to pick up my items I came back and was working with an other associate when the same customer service gal I was speaking to earlier came up to me and reprimanded me for how I spoke to her saying I was yelling at her when I was definitely not yelling, but speaking firmly and frustrated. She was confrontational and disrespectful. There was a supervisor there and I asked the supervisor if this is how they treat customers allowing their associates to confront customers. I told her I wasn't even talking to her and don't understand why she felt the need to come over and confront me after I was not even talking to her. I have never experienced such poor customer service. I will only shop at Home Depot moving forward or at the least avoid this store. read more

I'm always amazed that a store with all the cleaning supplies to clean a bathroom, and everything you need to fix toilets, sinks, etc always has filthy restrooms and "out of order" signs on half the fixtures. read more

I've tried many times to work with Danielle in Customer service / returns with dark hair and she is just plain rude. I wish it would have been 1 -2 visit experience, but I'm a regular to this store with a business account as well. Does not greet a customer, simply asks if there's an issue very aggressively only to let me know " there's nothing she can do" or " call the number..." Refuses to actually do her job, and has an attitude while doing it. Great customer service. read more

STAY AWAY I bought my mom a $50 gift card and when she went to use it , she asked for help , since it's all self checkout she didn't know how to use the card. She's not the most technologically savvy person. Anyways the girl who helped her stated in order to use the gift card , the paper covering the security code had to be removed. I don't know WHAT the girl did or HOW HARD she scratched the paper but she did it so hard the code itself was not visible anymore. She did it with her nail so hard you could literally see the zig zag her nails did from digging into the plastic. So that's that, she couldn't use her card and they just told her to call the number on the back to see what they could do.. My mom returned to the store to hopefully speaker to a manager and whoever she spoke to "scanned" her card and told her it had $0. This all happened because of the negligence of your workers who literally don't know how to help customers with simple transaction assistance. They insisted the card I gave her was "fake" and that it never had money to begin with. I went to target and literally bought the card and paid for it cash . It was a gift I bought weeks in advance so the receipt is out of question. $50 down the drain and the crappy workers at Lowe's can't even admit any wrong doing. I love going into the garden center even if I'm not getting any (more) plants. It's cool and crisp and smells great. I also like to stroll along the carpentry area for the aroma of cut wood. I love gadgets and seeing all the options available for the home. I'm currently thinking on an area rug that I saw. I'm going to keep window shopping around but might be back for it. We didn't see the shelving that we were thinking of but maybe we will check if they have something online. Staffers are friendly and ready to help you if need be. read more

My husband and I are refurbishing our 1985 vintage motorhome. We drove it to this location the other night to grab a few odds and ends for our current project and while we were in the store shopping, someone drilled a hole in our gas tank and siphoned out nearly 20 gallons of gas. Luckily my husband noticed the big huge puddle of gas before we had actually tried driving off because we most likely could have made it to the freeway on the gas still in the lines. Hubby is a very skilled mechanic and returned to the store so he could buy some JB Weld and a few other things to plug the hole drilled by the gas thieves. I got on the phone with our insurance to get a roadside assistance tow while he plugged the tank. Now our insurance kept dispatching a tow truck from a company all the way in LEMON GROVE only to have the company cancel the service at the last minute. This went on for a total of 5 times over the span of an entire day. I eventually gave up on the insurance tow. the JB weld repair required several layers, each taking quite a bit of time to cure fully before the next one could be applied so it was nearly 36 hours before it was ready. As we were getting ready to test the tank repair, I realized that we needed a gas can, so back into the store I went to buy one. As I waited in line, I overheard a female cashier LOUDLY complaining to someone about our motorhome. (There were no other rv's in the parking lot) She said that WE WERE SELLING DRUGS. And that the cops were on to us!!!! I would love to know to whom we were selling drugs when myself my husband and our dog are the only people who have come in or out of the vehicle. And...Who are these cops? Inspector freakin Clouseau? Because they suck at investigating if they think we're the next Scarface or something. I was so upset to hear my character being defamed in such a way that I set my item down, left the store, and went back to my vehicle to cry. Now it's important to note that literally nobody from the store came over to speak with us even a single time while we were stuck there, they just decided that we were drug dealers without any evidence of that. We came to this store to shop because we figured we would escape the prejudice the Oceanside lowes store manager leveled at us (that woman straight up said "at least I don't live in my car!" and laughed at us but that is a whole other can of worms) but this is arguably worse. I went into Lowes on 11/28 and was dissapointed by the service I rec'd (which was close to nothing). Needed a bathroom fan and with a light. I went to the "Pro desk" and after the cashier who scanned the item 4 times, don't know why she said they could not help me and Lowes does not contract with anyone to install it. Was sent to the electrical dept., Why? The person there said the same thing. I tried to purchase fan/light anyway and the "self checkout" system could not find my acct., I have an account with Lowes but the system could not locate it. I reached Jay in appliances with a question about a refrigerator that was on sale. Jay said, "This is not a call center. This is a brick and mortar store. If you have questions, go online. I have people here". Then, Jay hung up on me. I tried to call the customer service desk. The phone rang 40 times with no answer. The Store Manager is irresponsible for keeping someone like Jay who is ruining business. He should also be fired for the numerous complaints about unanswered phones. I later called Home Depot. 3rd recent crap service story - I am renovating an old condo. Spent hours researching bypass closet doors online. Odd size. Finally found one at Lowe's IN STOCK! Wow! I had some questions and wanted to speak with an associate, so I went into the store. I have chronic pain issues, and warehouse stores are not great for me. There was no scooter available, a problem in itself since there are many older and/or disabled people in Oceanside. I walked back to the door section, found the door I wanted and stood around for awhile. I asked someone to page for an associate, and they did. No one came to help me so I left. Associate Daniel was helping the two other guys who were standing around. I took a picture of the door with several warnings - including TRACKS ARE IN A SEPARATE PACKAGE (not a separate order). I went home and ordered the door online, with Lowe's delivery. bc the box said it takes two people to handle it. OK, I advised my handyman and he said he would bring a colleague and pick it up. So back I go to Lowe's, stand around at customer service while they figure out how to remove the delivery charge ($79) from my online order. Associate Daniel had to figure this out for another associate at the register. OK, all good so far, considering Lowe's typical bad service. So my handyman and his bro show up to pick up the damn thing and guess what - NO TRACKS. WTF?? Handyman said it was again Daniel who "helped them". They drove over to Oceanside from Escondido for this job. As I said in my other review, there is little competition so they get away with this crap service. I hate myself for continuing to patronize them. All I can do is warn prospective customers to avoid Lowe's if you can and watch them every step of the way since you can be sure they will let you down. read more

I wish I had looked up the store rating and reviews before calling for help. After many transferred calls to ominous, NEGLIGENT/NOn-ANSWERING THE PHONE departments and request for a supervisor. I wasted an hour and received no assistance of any kind. SEEKER OF SERVICES BEWARE!!! And I hope this store doesn't question this post because I have the call logs on my phone to prove this ridiculous situation. Tip: If you are trying to process a quote request online with the form, DON'T. You're better off going to the store, maybe. You may have difficulty verifying the appointment, and/or no one shows up. I called the number (877-465-6937) number as well to verify my appointment for an installation quote. After being on hold for seven minutes, I was connected to a representative that was unaware the phone call went through because she was on her cell phone with her mom. I held on to the call with hopes she would notice her business phone line was connected, but that didn't happen. Instead, I know her itinerary for her upcoming trip to Cancun instead of Las Vegas, who will be accompanying her, how much she paid for a child-free resort (just over $350 in case anyone is looking for a deal on travel), and why a co-worker will not be going on the trip. I hope she enjoys her trip more than I did trying to start renovations on my home to possibly enjoy a stay-cay. After all that, she didn't bother to apologize and just hung up. read more

I have an extended warranty on my appliance and have been waiting 5 weeks for a fix. I am continually met with long holds to speak with someone and zero help to resolve the issue. The customer rep at Lowes told me that manager don't speak to customers and that this is normal service. Both are shocking statements. It feels like Lowes is stalling the fix/replacement to save a few hundred dollars. You would be better served buy an appliance elsewhere or not getting the extended warranty. read more

We ordered a toilet. Lowes said it was in, so we drove the 60 miles RT to get it, but it was just the seat. A week later, they told us the toilet itself had arrived, and we drove to pick it up. He took the time to show me different paint colors and was very patient with me. I didnt feel rushed. Most places would just point you in a different direction and let you fend for yourself. Every time I needed to go to customer service there is a young man who has the worst attitude about working there. I don't understand how Lowes can claim to be military friendly but make applying for the discount impossible if you're still active duty. I ran into the issue where my number didn't show I got the discount and the man was so rude and said "this is the smallest discount I've seen for this much trouble." I also asked for a 48 hour rental for the carpet cleaner and he put 24 hours so I had to pay extra because I was "24 hours late" for my return. This kid makes me never want to come back Id rather drive the distance to go somewhere else without attitude. read more

Today I stopped by Lowe's in Vista to have some wood cut that I previously bought from Lowes. Jerry cut the wood and was precise and did some extra cuts which helped me enormously Jerry went above and beyond what many other stores would do as far as providing good customer service. It is excellent customer like like Jerry provided that makes me extremely loyal to going to Lowes. It is exceptionally rare now a days that people provide outstanding customer service. For those of you from other planets -- Lowe's, like Home Depot combines a hardware store with a lumberyard and focuses on selling to both the contractor and the do-it-yourself (DIY) homeowner. We have purchased flooring, appliances, tools, lumber, plants, landscaping materials, and everything in between at this store and have been satisfied with the exception of one caveat below. At this location, employees seem to be obsessed on one activity: restocking the shelves. While I understand that shelves need stuff on them to sell, shouldn't this be performed during hours that the store is NOT open? Not only are they constantly doing this, they prioritize this over a customer's needs. I have seen several customers shopping "around" and being ignored by the employees. And my last rant: customers should never be thwarted from buying items because the aisle is blocked for restocking purposes. Ever see a blocked aisle in a Bloomingdales or Saks? As far as private-label, Lowe's has Kobalt and Task Force tools, both decent but underwhelming. They also carry Utilitech lighting, which I have found to be less than satisfactory. Lowe's is also the store that carries Pella windows, which are far inferior to a brand like Andersen. Lowe's seems to have always had an edge over Home Depot in as customer service, but Homer is making strides to improve in this area. Pricing seems to be about the same between the two chains. Some weeks one seems better than the other. Conspiracy theories anyone? read more

Warning to anyone looking into a kitchen remodel with this Lowe's. You will not get a call back and it will be PULLING TEETH to schedule next steps after you are hooked into paying their contractor to come out for measurements. I've been trying to get a call back for a couple of weeks now with no luck. I'll be getting my money back for the $100 I paid to have someone come out and measure because it's been impossible to finalize my quote and purchase my actual cabinets. Why am I having to follow up so hard on an almost $20k kitchen remodel.... I am trying to pay them money. Lol. Jon helped organize a delivery that had gone amuck the day before and was able to get both my fridge and freezer delivered on a Sunday. And Oscar in delivery did a fantastic job installing and delivering them both. We had a few rough experiences this month with damaged deliveries and people saying they can't install a fridge because of a copper water line. Have to agree with the other reviews. My husband and I stopped in to purchase a dishwasher. The salesperson, Jay, asked us to wait while he helped another customer purchase an appliance which was absolutely fine and we were very polite and let him know it was not a problem. We waited roughly 20 mins-no complaints. As he was finishing, another customer went to the desk, and rather than advising her that he'd be with her after helping us, the same way he did to us, he began assisting her. I advised him that we had to leave to pick up our kids from school and would have to come another time and he snapped at me stating that l "could wait 20 seconds" for him to finish. At this point I said no thank you, and that we'd be leaving, and then this man started following me around the store! I had to tell him to please get away from me as he was walking after me and speaking to me aggressively. I grabbed a photo of the item we wanted and left. My husband tried to purchase the dishwasher at the front with another employee and we were told only Jay could help us or we'd have to wait for someone else to come back for lunch. Money spent elsewhere. Go to Carlsbad location. We've never had that experience there. Weird times. read more

I had an occasion to walk into the Lowe's Home Improvement store in Vista, California this afternoon (02/16/2021) to purchase some plywood and other items for a little do it yourself project at home. During that visit I encountered Trevor who is most knowledgeable, helpful, and who sincerely wanted to help. I described my project and he then explained what I should use but followed that up by telling me why I should use the particular item he was recommending. I was truly touched by that extra effort and told him how much I appreciated his willingness to do all he could for me. I rarely write reviews unless they are positive and this one certainly is. In addition to my encounter with Trevor, Jason as most helpful as well. Ana was working at a cash register and she was most pleasant. Isabelle was working in Customer Service Pro and I needed something Lowe's didn't have and so she referred me to another firm where she was pretty sure I would find what I was looking for. She was right! This was a wonderful adventure this afternoon. I learned a lot and am grateful for those who were willing to educate me in the process of providing the products I needed to get the job done. I couldn't be more pleased. Each of you made my day. After unsuccessful service with Lowes Poway and Lowes Carlsbad, we called Lowes Vista. The reason why we called them was because we were looking to get our fridge ASAP and it seemed like they had it readily available. On Friday, we called Lowes Vista and asked to speak with a manager. We got transferred, disconnected, rerouted, etc. Seemed like a theme here with the Lowes stores. ONE HOUR LATER, we got connected with a manager who said he would honor the price of the 40% for the fridge for us after we explained what had happened. He said he would put the order on a "hold" for us under that price so we could call back and order if we decided to proceed. This was the day we were moving so we called back a few hours later to order the fridge. We spoke with AJ and he seemed like he knew what he was doing. He said he would put in the order for us and would call me back in 30-45min later to confirm it was all set. He even confirmed the 40% price. In the midst of moving, I forgot about him but he never called me back to confirm. On 12/2, I called Lowes to confirm that the order was processed and we were all set to go. The girl at customer service said it was fine. Yesterday, we received our moving package from USPS and got our 10% Lowes coupon. Before this all started, we spoke with someone and they said we could call in with the coupon and get the price adjusted as soon as we had the barcode. I called in and asked speak with a manager but the customer service person said that he would process this for us. He even confirmed the discount total. We assumed everything was good to go with our fridge so left it at that. Today, we checked our credit card statement and it turns out we DID NOT get charged correctly. The 40% off was not applied. I called the store and asked for a manager. I got transferred to Zack and he was able to see that AJ did not charge us correctly AND the person yesterday did not process the 10%! Needless to say, Zack corrected everything and sent an e-mail confirmation of the receipts. Zack deserves 5 stars. Three Lowes and a thousand phone calls later, we got the fridge and the correct price. However, ordering a fridge was my first experience with Lowes but it will absolutely be my last. this place doesn't deserve any stars. I had a friend put in a toilet, and there was a hairline crack in the tank where the water sits. They refuse to return it. So in other words they won't give me my money back because there was water put in it. But a non professional installer is not gonna look for a hairline crack in the toilet tank. He installed the floor around the toilet and it leaked all over the floor and I'm freaking mad that I don't get my money back. I've had a toilet sitting in my living room since New Year's Eve.
