I can tell you one thing that this hardware store has that the other big box hardware stores don't- work clothes! I came here specifically for roof caulk because we have small water leak. I am sure the issue is somewhere on our roof, but I am not clear exactly where. While walking around searching for roofing materials, I noticed the work clothes section near the front. I also saw that they carry major appliances too, bit I didn't spend too much time looking at those. I found out that thry have a different line-up of paint as well, and I actuallybdid purchase a quart of semi-gloss for our bathroom. The store was nicely stocked and I found everything I needed. Saw plenty of employees working there, but oddly, none of them asked me if I needed anything or any help. Terrible customer service from Jean Bellous! I tried to return a Halloween item after the holiday and wasn't aware of the return policy. I was simply looking for a manager to help explain it, especially since the item was a broken store display that I had purchased after Halloween. Jean came around the counter with her hand raised and a poor attitude. She began speaking to my girlfriend, who politely asked if it was possible to buy a replacement. Jean then yelled, "I'm not going to repeat myself again!" while waving her hands in the air -- loud enough for the entire store to hear. At that point, I became upset because she was waving her hands in my girlfriend's face and speaking disrespectfully when we were just trying to understand the situation. Jean immediately picked up the phone, called 911, and falsely claimed that "her life was in danger," giving a description of us -- even though we were never asked to leave. Thankfully, her manager, Jim, was kind, understanding, and reassured us that similar situations happen often. Still, this experience was completely unacceptable. Is this really how customers are treated at the Smoketown Lowe's? I will never return, and I sincerely hope action is taken so employees can't make false police reports against customers asking valid questions. My final point is that no one should ever call the police on someone and waste emergency responders' time over trivial matters. This behavior is very unprofessional and could lead to delays in their response to actual emergencies. Calling on 5-18-25 at 6:40 pm for appliances just rang rang and rang then paused and went to ringing again no answer. So far, I am very disappointed. I purchased a high end refrigerator a month ago to replace the one I had that died. The final price included a separate delivery charge as well as an extra charge to remove the old. This morning they came over, too one look at my stairs and told me they were unable to bring the fridge upstairs. Without trying, they left the new fridge in the lower level of my home near my front door. They look pics to show the fridge was delivered. At my request, he called a supervisor regarding the measurements. Speaking in Spanish, he underreported the measurements of the measurements to the supervisor. I myself measured the area twice. I measured my stairs. The width, to include railings going up is 32 inches. The landing to turn on is 37" by 45". The 3 additional steps after landing is 33" wide. The fridge with doors off is 28"" deep. I overheard what Oscar was telling you in Spanish. He gave you the incorrect measurement. I measured with a neighbor to make sure. This tells me your men could have brought the fridge up w/o having to remove railings. I've had several delivery people come to my home bringing furniture, etc. This has NEVER happened to me to be told I had to get and pay an extra contractor to have merchandise I've already paid for to be delivered and installed. Mind you, in addition to paying for the brand new fridge, I already paid a separate charge for its delivery and additionally for hauling away the old one. Why did they even bother to bring the fridge in my house if they're not installing it. I have no use of a fridge I paid thousands of dollars for a month ago. It's Lowe's so you know how it goes! I arrived looking for some Trufuel. Luckily, I knew exactly where it was at and was able to find it without issue. However because I am vertically challenged and the shelf was deceiving it looked like there were several cans. Wrong, there was one at the edge and then the rest were at the far back e d of the shelf. After looking around for a few minutes to find a long armed person to retrieve the remainder of the cans, I had to take matters into my own hands. I found something to stand on nearby and proceeded to retrieve the rest of the cans to purchase. The redeeming part of this trip was that all the lines that were open were long. A gentleman at the very last register that's it tucked away in the tool section actually got my attention so he could ring me up because he had no one in his line. He was able to ring me up pretty quickly and was nice enough to let me know he only had small bags, which had to be okay if I wanted to get all six cans out the door, lol. I don't know what happened to this Lowe's location. They used to have competent, professional help. They had a no receipt required return policy. That's all gone now. Several months ago I bought a headlamp. It was a KOBALT. I bought this one because the headlamp could move up or down. A couple days ago when I put it on the lamp fell pointing the light at the floor. I tried adjusting it up but it fell back down. I guess the hinge wore out. I took it back yesterday (3/25/24). When I walked up to the return desk and explained the issue, I was asked for my receipt. I told the lady that's it's a KOBALT, a Lowe's brand that isn't sold anywhere else. She said I had to call customer service. I asked for a manager. She came and I got the same song... I asked about Lowe's hassle-free return policy. She said things have changed. Then she walked to the isle with me behind her. She found the item. Right on the packaging it said,"LIFETIME GUARANTEE." She said takevit to the front and get your exchange. I was appreciative of her exchanging it for me.... BUT.... as a manager she could have looked it up on one of the computers and seen it had a lifetime guarantee without wasting my time. I purchased a brand new WP TL wash and WP ELE DRY on Sunday 02/25/24, all charges paid for and it was delivered on Tuesday 2/26/24 as scheduled at 13720 Smoketown Road Woodbridge , VA 22192, The washer flooded my house the very first time it was used, I went back to the store to request for a tech to come and look at whatever the problem is, a sales reps schedule a tech for the following day Wednesday, and said latest by Thursday someone will show up, NO body show up. I went back later in the evening on Thursday to request for an assistance, this time the manager on duty was called up, Mr. James McClaren, I explained the issue to him, to my surprise all his asking me is if the washer is still flooding as we speak. I explained to him that we did not attempt using it after the initial flooding. He disrespectfully said that, "my question is a YES or NO question" if you cant answer, then i will take it for a NO. I was shocked and flabbergasted, my question to him was do you expect me to continue flooding my house in anticipation for the washer to stop? he said "it might stop leaking". Finally he looks through the system to confirm my address, and said the best we could do is Saturday. i resolved that if the fix is not now then the defective appliances should be remove and I will need a full refund. Trying to reach someone on the phone gets a 1 star. The store as a whole pretty decent. Came here on Saturday and bought some hotter spray paint and some screws for w project. The employee we asked where to find spray paint his breathe smelled of alcohol. We checked it on the scan ourselves no problem. I took the spray paint home and used it Sunday afternoon. Something the can got clogged, so I called the store and it took about 4 min for someone to pick up the phone. So I was able to bring it back and switch it. New can had the same issue. I guess it's just the type in using. Oh well but overall decent store, and breathe mints for employees. read more

Beware of deceptive pricing at this location!! I was going to buy command hooks for $5.28, only to get to the self checkout and be told it was actually $6.98 each! When I told the checkout girl about the price discrepancy, she asked me to go take a photo of the price tag, which was slightly inconvenient as a customer, but not too bad, because it wasn't that far. When I showed her the photo, she said it was marked wrong!? Then she proceeded to tell me that I had to go to the customer service area. When I got there, the woman at the counter also told me it was marked wrong and ALL of the command hooks were in the wrong spot, which is mystifying to me. Then she wouldn't give me a military discount because I didn't register online, whatever the hell that means, either you care about your veteran customers or you don't. No staff on the floor, items are confused if you really need a specific item, don't have all the parts for a complete project, now service from their install program is simply absent. Although I had one good experience with Lowes the first time I ordered something online, my overall experience with Lowes has been the following: frequent delivery no shows (online they put item was delivered), they sold me a defective stove (Dale City location) AND the second stove after selling me defective stove was damaged (Alexandria location). Charged a haul away fee but they refused to haul away the item. Current Manager: The female manager (can't remember her name) was very polite and smart. She knew her job well and I noticed everyone relies on her. This review has no reflection of her customer service she provided me. She made sure my defective item was actually picked up after I waited a day for no reason because of a no show . 1. If you purchase a gas range, when you checkout to pay online, the website will say "Required Items have been added to the appliance(s) in your cart. We need these items to hook up your appliances." This is FALSE!!!! They will NOT hook up your gas range whether you buy the extra item or not. You MUST hire a certified plumber (delivery guys are not qualified to do it) AND if you do decide you want Lowes to do it, be prepared to pay between $300-$400 and it won't be the day of delivery. To save you the headache, have a plumber appointment ready to hook up your gas range (unless you have a good handyman qualified to handle gas). It will be cheaper and better for you. Additionally, if you decide you have to return it because it's damaged or doesn't work through not fault of your own, you will not get a full refund. They will only refund you for the stove and not that extra item they claimed you needed to hook up your new stove. 2. Lowes works with contractor (XPO Logistics or Spirit Logistics-I'm not impressed with them either) to handle appliance deliveries and pick-ups in the DMV area. The number I had for my delivery is 1-855-219-5547 (XPO) and 443-763-4883 (SL). Depending on your location it may be a different number for you. If I were you, contact the Lowes customer service number (1-800-445-6937) to get their phone number of the contractor responsible for your delivery or pick-up to ensure you can follow-up yourself on your delivery time/pick-up time. Additionally, ensure they have the correct delivery address (be prepared for be on hold forever). They had the wrong address for my delivery although I provided the correct address. 3. Before the delivery guys bring anything in your home, go outside and inspect the appliance as they unbox the items. DO NOT let them bring anything in your home without looking at it. The delivery guys will drop it off and move so fast you won't have time to see if there is any damage to the item etc. and if it's too late, you're in for a real headache. It's best to catch damages or issues before anything enters your home. 4. Consider yourself lucky if they answer your call or even help you when they do answer. 5. Your delivery date and time will be changed without notice so check your email frequently or as I mentioned above, call the contractors Lowes hired. Purchased higher end carpet from them 3 to 4 years ago. The carpet in EVERY room in the house is buckling and needs to be stretched, even in the rooms with very low to no traffic. I don't think the Lowe's carpet installers stretched the carpet to manufactures specification. Even though the carpet is still in warranty the installation is only for one year. I purchased, online, a $1200 Bosch dishwasher on 11/17, as their website stated it would be available by 11/22 for installation. Lowes contacted their installer for us when it arrived, after Thanksgiving, and we were contacted by installer and scheduled for install, 12/2. The installer went to Lowe's morning of 12/2 to pick up and it was damaged. They talked to Lowe's to expedite a new one and I was contacted when it arrived. They did not notify the installer, which is their job, so four days later we got another call from Lowe's asking when the contractor would pick it up. I called and texted the contractor then and scheduled the installation for 12/14. Once again the contractor went to Lowe's morning of 12/14 and the second dishwasher was again damaged. A third one was then ordered. I called Lowe's this time to see what their plan is. I was assured I would hear back after 24 hours and as of 12/17 have not been contacted. I have NEVER been contacted by anyone from Lowe's with any assistance or plan or apology, just crickets. I CAN NOT recommend Lowe's for any major appliances as they clearly do not care about their customers. read more

I ordered on 28 Aug and I was assured that they would arrive by 21 Sep despite COVID. 2 weeks later I followed up with the store. I was told again that the vanities would be delivered on time. The 21st came and my contractor went to pick up and they were not there. 2 days later I went to the store to discuss with a manager. I was informed that the cabinets would arrive around 1 Nov. at this point I had already demolished my bathroom and had contractors on site. I have never bought anything from Lowe's and never will again. I purchased a stackable washer/dryer unit about 1 month ago. It was similar to the one I had previously which I had to replace due to leaking from underneath the washer. I made the purchase online and it was seamless. The unit was delivered approximately 4 days later and shipped to my house from this particular Lowe's. Two delivery men arrived within the stated window of time and hooked up the unit. Apparently I didn't have the connectors (or something along those lines) but I told them I could go to Home Depot which is just around the corner from my house to buy them. The delivery crew happened to have had the connections and told me to pay "whatever I liked." When I asked how much they were, he didn't say anything other than "pay me what you want." That sounded very suspicious to me but hey, I got the unit hooked up! My husband ended up giving them $40. Not sure if that was too little or too much but when you're not told how much the connections cost, that's what you end up with. Fast forward to 2 1/2 weeks later. My husband notices water coming out from beneath the washer- lots of it! It appeared to be the exact same issue we had with our previous unit! So we called an independent technician out to look at it. Come to find out, we were sold a refurbished unit! He showed us where there was rust on the motor as well as a buildup of detergent around the tub basin. Unbelievable! We called Lowe's and told them to come pick up the unit and refund us. We didn't want a replacement unit as we didn't trust we would get a new unit and not another refurbished one. We were told that the refund would be processed once the unit arrived back at the store. Approximately 5 days later, we still hadn't received a refund. I called the store and spoke to a sales associate who informed me that the washer/dryer has been received but the refund had not been processed. So if I hadn't called the store to inquire about the refund, I would have never received it! I was going to purchase the exact same unit from Home Depot where I always buy my home appliances but Lowe's has a quicker delivery date. Lesson learned. If I could give negative stars I would! This place is ridiculous and will never get my money or time ever again in life! Finally got my damn dishwasher delivered today after waiting almost 2-months to get it! I was supposed to have it delivered on June 6th, but when the plumbers went to go get it from Lowe's they were told they couldn't take the dishwasher. But they would not tell the plumbers why they couldn't bring it to me. So I had to waste my time calling like 3-different numbers to finally get someone on the phone to ask them WTH is up!?! They acting like they don't know and blah, blah then "oh yes your dishwasher is right here we don't know what happened". I was then told the plumbers would be in contact with me to set up a time and date for my delivery. This was on June 6th I waited a few days and didn't hear anything so I called a second time and asked again WTH is up with this damn dishwasher I paid $800 for (which included warranty & delivery charges, etc). I was placed on hold which seemed like forever and was told they are JUST THEN sending up the info to the plumbers. I'm like REALLY WTF!?!! So the last person I talked to didn't even do what they was supposed to do! Smdh. But it gets even better so the plumber brought the dishwasher and I had to shell out another $125 because a hose to be replaced before he could install the dishwasher!! Lowe's never mentioned there could be another additional charge!!! Hell what if I didn't have any money or checks!?! So yeah I would advise if you shopping for appliances go across the street to Home Depot or somewhere else! So I will be filing a complaint with the BBB on them and talking to their manager on getting recouped for this horrible experience because I or anyone else should never have to deal with this type of BS especially after spending this much money on an appliance!! Went into the Woodbridge Lowes for a number of items, one of which was a new deadbolt lock. I wanted to ask about rekeying the lock to match the rest of the locks in my house so I pushed the button for assistance in the hardware department and waited, pushed the button again and waited, pushed it for another two times waiting for assistance. No one every responded. Not a manager, not an assistant manager, not a floor worker, no one. After 30 minutes, I left my cart filled with around $300 worth of goods and left. Went to the Home Depot across the Smoketown Road and received immediate assistance. Needless to say they got my business and will from now on. Lowes is poorly run and not customer oriented. I would not recommend this store for anyone that is planning on getting shower glass for a bathroom renovation. My fiancé and I have had nothing but trouble with this place since we decided to use them to install our shower glass. First thing - we paid for a contractor to come to the house when we first started the renovation at the beginning of January. When the gentleman arrived he stated he could not give us an estimate because the bathroom had to be finished before we he could take measurements. This was not explained to us prior to booking for a contractor to come to my house. (Now I know). Two weeks later we had to go back to Lowe's and paid another $35 to get the contractor to come to our house. The same gentleman showed up, took the measurements and said his measurements should be available within three business days to call the store. When we spoke to the contractor we told him we wanted 3/8 or greater glass. Second - I called the store four days later and no one could find the measurements. Every single time I call this store it is a mission. I got transferred to over 4 people, and got hung up on 3 times. Eventually I got transferred to the manager (Tom) and was told my measurements should be available the next day. I went back to the store the following day and was told that I needed to pick out the glass I wanted and then needed to wait a few more days to get my estimate. I asked if I could get the measurements that were taken (since I paid for the contractor to take measurements twice) and was told that they couldn't provide the measurements. Third - one week later (February 17), I get called and asked to come into the store to discuss my estimates. When I get to the store the gentleman like not find my estimates at all. When he eventually finds them (I've been waiting for over 15-20min), he tells me I need to wait longer because he didn't understand the estimates. When I finally get to take a look at the estimates I see that they gave an estimate for glass that was thinner than we wanted. At this point I felt annoyed and told the gentleman that I did not want the glass anymore. At this point it's already been 6 weeks and I still do not have my shower door glass. AVOID JULIE at all costs! Hubby and I went July/21/2018 at 11am. It's taken me 6 MONTHS to calm down to leave a review w/o vulgarities! We were looking for some items in Garden but couldn't find them. So we went in to look for help. On Aisle 23 Julie was on a phone call. We walked around a bit and came back after about 10 minutes. Julie was still on the call. I ask for help, she puts her hand up and starts talking about what they're going to have for dinner. I wait a bit more then interrupted her again to say we're customers and we're looking for several items. She turns and says "can't you see I'm on the phone?" (Um, yes, but can't you see you're AT WORK). I replied, YES, but it's a personal call and we are customers trying to purchase items that pays your salary. She turned her back and went back to her phone. I started raising my voice asking for a manager NOW. I found a woman and started to tell her about our treatment when Julie walked up and started saying "OH WOW!" "Oh, wow" and the other woman started laughing! I went to customer service VERY upset to demand to see a manager but only got a guy Evan (ext 4804). Now while I'm trying to explain the attitude and treatment we received from Julie, the WHOLE time she's followed us from Garden to "Customer Service" saying "oh, wow" "oh, wow" over and over and over. Evan did nothing, the other gal that I went to first is STILL laughing and Evan gave me customer care's 800#. WOW! Now there's management for you! I will never do business with a company that allows employees to FOLLOW and harass customers who are asking for HELP! At the American Legion, VFW and the 2 bars I work part time at I TELL EVERYONE never shop at Lowes in Woodbridge. Terrible customer service IF you can reach them. They never answered any phone calls. Very frustrating.

Beware of ordering online for home delivery. Hopefully this doesn't happen to you.... I ordered a few sets of sliding mirrored doors online. I am not sure why they didn't all come together. We received one and signed for it. We never got any communication that this order would be in 2 separate shipments. I kept looking out for an email to see what was up, and then I got one saying the order was supposed to be delivered on Friday June 11, 2021. We were home all day with family out of town. Later in the evening I opened my email to see that Lowe's said they delivered my closet doors...this never happened. No one knocked on our door nor rang our doorbell, and we were home ALL day. With 6 people home, someone would have heard the delivery person ringing the bell or knocking on the door. Since I got the email, I have been trying to have someone quickly handle our situation and get new doors delivered to us. I have called the Lowe's Customer service number, got a case number, called a few more times and now it's "escalated". Now I am waiting for the store manager to call me by tomorrow morning. This whole thing has been very frustrating...several hours on hold after several phone calls (a few hang-ups, too). Lowe's has the money I paid for the doors and their customer service is now tarnished in my view due to this situation. read more

Terrible buisness. I ordered a washer and dryer. Delivery set for Saturday. Only the dryer came. Apparently they had the washer set in the system as "self pickup". WTF Who has a washer delivered but picks up the dryer themselves? Cost me my entire Saturday waiting for a dryer only. Then when I go back over there the guy tells me I can either take off work Monday and wait for delivery, have it delivered next Saturday or bring the dryer back and he'll refund the order. I told him not to worry about delivery of the washer, just go ahead and refund it now and also to come pick up the dryer. He said we can pick up from 8am - 8pm on Monday-Saturday. I said it will be outside in front of my house so pick it up whenever you like. Just know its going to be out there until you do. I have to makee room for my new washer and dryer from Home Depot. tried to order a storm door with installation: 1. couldn't buy the product and installation in one step 2. waited 48 hours for a callback from installation 3. they put in some "detail purchase", no order number provided or anything, they just said it is referenced by phone number and told me to call my local Lowes. 4. you will never get anyone to pick up the phone at Alexandria Lowes, no one is home. All automated until it hangs up. 5. Online chat says to call back the installation number. Been at this for the past 2.5 hours, should I continue wasting my time/lost wages or pay the higher home depot price? no wonder reviews are bad and everyone pays more to shop at Home Depot avoid buying here! read more
