Let me say my masseuse was not one of the ones mentioned. She was not very friendly. Didn't ask what brought me in or if I had any areas of focus. Just looked at the paper I filled out said ok and that was that. She was so rough even after I told her it was hurting very badly. She said it was my fault I have knots so it's going to hurt but didn't let up on the pressure or get out of that area. I have RA and Lupus and severe joint and muscle pain which I did advise of. I was writhing when she touched certain spots and it seemed she pressed harder. I asked for my lower back to get some attention but that didn't happen either she stayed up top. I usually get a good nap and feel great after a good massage but that did not happen this time. I couldn't relax. I went home and have been so sore (not in a good way either). I can't move my shoulders, arms or bend down. My neck is stiff and I've had a migraine since I left. I may try again with someone else but I'm on the fence. Just an update: it's a week after my terrible experience. No one from the spa has reached out. No one has acknowledged my experience. I am still in terrible pain that was caused by the masseuse. I'm now having pain, shocks running down my mid back and legs from the excessive pressure the masseuse used after I told her it was too much, after I told her it was hurting, after she told me it was my fault because of my knots.

My neighbors suggested here since they had been, but they had only gotten gel manicure and a pedicure. I get acrylic nails and keep them pretty lengthy so I'm a bit particular at times. This is located in the shopping center near the Food Lion and shares a parking lot with the other businesses on the strip. Sometimes parking is scarce depending on the day and time, but it's still available. They require you to wear a mask and have you complete and sign a waiver upon entering. They also provide temperature checks as well. I've not made an appointment, so they are accepting walk-ins. There are plenty of stations for nails and pedicures as well as plenty of technicians. Overall I've been pleased. The salon is clean and all the staff wears mask as well. The prices are comparable to other nail salons and I feel they are fair. I pay $40 for a fill-in with gel polish which is average for most salons. They do a good job with my nails and take their time. They also provide hot stone back/shoulder massage with your service and warm towels for your hands when your nails are complete. There are not many nail salons in the area and it's extremely convenient for me so I will definitely be back and recommend it if you live in the area. It's not the fanciest salon, but they do a good job.

The things that I liked about it was that it wasn't like some of the other Clayton Salons that are "tragically hip" and you pay for the atmosphere, and also it didn't seem to cater towards small kids or teens. I must also say that one of the reasons I chose Clayton Hair Salon is I saw on the website that their Manicurist is Becky Gordon, and she had done my nails at another place a few years ago and she is AMAZING. So that settled it, I called and made my hair appointment. Kristty was everything I was hoping for and more! Her shop is in an adorable old historic-style home in Clayton's beautiful little downtown area, and there is plenty of parking available. She took me on a tour and every room was done very professionally. She offered me a drink but I had brought one in. She was easy to talk to and understood exactly what my hair needs were and she gave me some great advice that I'm still using today. I even called her back a couple of days after my appointment to tell her how happy I am with my cut. I'm looking forward to going back and seeing Kristty again!

I stopped by today Wednesday at 1pm for a manicure and pedicure and was told in a snarky tone that they were too busy to help me today because they only had 2 people working and that it was prom. A customer in a chair waiting (the only one actually waiting) said "their lazy" - I think she was right! High school kids were still in school so I'm gonna guess prom really wasn't why they couldn't see me on a Wednesday at 1 pm. I would have been happy to wait .... Disappointed. Surprisingly, the more upscale spa by Harris Teeter was happy to see me- only had a 10 minute wait. Prom didn't keep them too busy to welcome a new customer. This other salon was much more clean and more spacious than Day Dream. The staff were also more friendly and helpful.
