I was so impressed with her work that I emailed her a few months later to do my hair and make-up before another friends wedding. Lily gave me six distinct, intentional styles: soft/romantic, clean/timeless, modern/editorial, family pleasing for the formal blacktie moments, & true East-meets-West bridal glam that made everyone happy. Every look was curated & photographed like a dream. Furthermore, Lily stays with you. Shes not a "glam & ghost" situation. She was w/ me through the day(s) & nailed every hair/makeup/outfit/jewelry change/touchup flawlessly. Everything always looked polished, expensive & intentional, even when timeline was tight. The makeup itself? Ate. No crumbs. It survived looooong days, tears, sweat, wind, sun, tea ceremonies, hugs, kisses, terrace wind, emotional speeches, more tears & packed dance floors without budging. My skin still looked like skin. Her kit was spotless, products were high quality & she was gentle w/everyone. Logistics wise shes also elite: always early/on time, moves fast without rushing you, coordinates smoothly w/planners + photographers so the timeline stays on track. Touch-ups take seconds & she somehow keeps the vibe therapeutic, focused & happy. Culturally, she just understands. Lily has no ego, which is rare. If I wanted a tiny tweak, she fixed it immediately. Expect to be dropped in an abrasive manner if your bill is not large enough…read more We had an agreement to do a trial with bridalgal for our wedding and a soft agreement on the wedding date for bride + 2 people hair and makeup. I stupidly stopped researching for other makeup and hair (definitely get backups if you're going with bridalgal just in case). However, a new contact for the same date as my wedding came in (that was obviously larger than mine). We were asked to put a deposit to hold the date above the other contract - fair enough so far. At first I said I wanted to do a trial before locking in a $3500 contract. Bridalgal was like ok, but I will let others book your date (2-3 weeks before trial). That was the first wtf moment, where I was just like why would I bet on something and potentially not be able to book them for my wedding. I agreed to pay full for hair and makeup for the bride to lock the contract, but I wasn't sure about what other people would need hair and makeup as my mother-in-law was arranging something separate for the 20+ aunts (Indian wedding). I thought I would just setup the payment for the bride and figure out the other people later (this is way before the trial btw when not knowing what kind of service I would be getting, not being able to show my mom and mother-in-law the results, and the bridal hair + makeup is ~$1500 by itself as I remember). After I offered that, we immediately got dropped with a message equivalent of "you're not paying enough. See yah" about 2 months out from the wedding. After I responded with a "wtf" to that message, bridalgal threatened me that she had all the messages and documentation available. We still haven't secured a new makeup and hairstylist for my wedding ~1.5 months out. While it could be viewed as "just business" and not strictly problematic, I would say that you should perhaps think about whether this is the vibe you want around you for your wedding planning, or if you're not 100% sure about what deposit you need for your wedding party, look elsewhere. We most likely would have booked more people as plans cemented, but I thought a $1500 deposit would've been enough pre-trial. I didn't go through an actual service as we were not paying enough (clearly). Our phone consultation seemed fine and I'm sure whatever makeup/hair people work for the manager are probably great (if you have enough money put down up front and can beat other contracts).
