For years and years now, we've given up on trying to find GOOD Tex-Mex in Northern Michigan. This is not to say that we haven't found a place here or there that isn't worth eating at, really the only one that comes to mind is Osorio's in Acme. But when discussing the lack of good Tex-Mex up here with a friend they asked if I had tried this little taco place in a parking lot in Charlevoix. I had seen it, but wasn't sure I wanted to try it. Based upon his recommendation we stopped there while passing through, and I am SO glad we did. My wife and I split an order of barbacoa tacos (on corn tortillas) and she had a vegetarian burrito. My brother-in-law had a couple tacos (ground beef and fajita meat), one corn, one flour. He then ordered a bean and cheese burrito. My wife's burrito looked so good I had to steal a bite of it. My barbacoa taco was amazing and my brother-in-law thoroughly enjoyed both of his tacos. The staff who took my order was great. Then as I went to say "Thank You" for the food, I saw a man cooking on a grill (which smelled amazing) and I started talking to him, telling him we loved the food and he gave me a sample of Fajita meat. I was just about done with the sample and said I needed to go to the car and share with my wife or I'd be in trouble for eating it all. He told me to wait, ran into the kitchen and came back out with more cups and put some more meat into one and handed it to me. I took it to the car and shared with my wife and brother-in-law. It was a very pleasant visit and I look forward to taking my kiddo who loves tacos, rice and beans. I look forward to trying the beef cheek and asking what the difference is between their barbacoa and their beef cheek tacos (since traditional barbacoa is beef cheek). read more

Very impressed with this little taco stand. The employees were friendly, food was delicious and fairly priced, and the wait was not bad seeing as it was Venetian and there were 3-4 cars ahead of us. Not the absolute most flavorful veggie burrito ever, but still very impressed! read more

We stumbled upon this place- looking for a quick and cheap option that wasn't a fast food chain. LT's was perfect! Great food and fantastic service from small business owners who sincerely care about their customers. Wanting us to try other things on his menu, he provided chips, refried beans and two Mexican pops for free! WOW!! I ordered their beef burrito and it was excellent! Juicy, flavorful and large! My girlfriend ordered the quesadilla and that too was great! Large, full of cheese and again very flavorful. She loved it! We will both definetly be back here! read more

I'v come here for lunch multiple times and every time they have such great to-go food. I hope they last cause for the price and quality it's pretty great. Just wish The tamales where more available. Thanks for some awesome lunches. $6.00 bucks for a quesadilla!! I recommend chicken with Mexican cheese. Only bad thing is there sides of salsa and sour cream are very very small. See picture those are small cups only filled half way. Ask for extra... love ya guys see you again on my lunch. read more

I like this place, authentic and family owned. Burritos for the win, get them with everything and add extra salsa and extra quac. Corn tortilla tacos are solid. Mexican coke to top it off. After a long hot day in Mackinaw we were passing through Charlevoix looking for a good Mexican place and boy did we find it! Dont let the little hut in the parking lot fool you! We pretty much gave up on finding decent Mexican food in Michigan since moving here from California several years ago. It's safe to say that I was not expecting the best burrito I have sampled in the whole midwest to originate at a converted drive-through coffee bar in a strip mall parking lot in Charlevoix. But there you have it. Chips are a little off -- one day they were good and fresh, and the next they tasted like they came from a bag. On our third visit, they overcharged me by 100% by adding the food total to tip. I'm sure this was an honest mistake, but I only realized it by chance days later when throwing out the receipt. read more

So I visited a whole bunch of taco places in all of Michigan and in northern Michigan. I'm a al pastor nut and was very surprised when I found an authentic style place up here that was actually serving an al pastor. It's was full of flavor and served just how most Detroit authentic tacos are served. It was by far the best authentic taco I've had in term of meat and size. The corn tortillas where bought but still cooked nice. It's very quick and easy and I'll be back every time I drive through town. read more

I found this place on yelp and decided to try it since I was stopping at Family Fare for medicine for my sick kid. I drove right up to the window and ordered my vegetarian burrito. The people were really friendly and the place looked super clean and nice. My baby was screaming in the car so I just parked nearby while they made my food and even brought it out to me. Once I got home and started eating I was pretty excited. This burrito was so good. The salsa and guacamole were just right too. And the prices are so reasonable. It's hard to find something good to eat in Charlevoix if you don't have time for the hassle of the restaurants downtown. So nice to find something so convenient and delicious! read more

My family decided to stop by this little place on a whim, and wow were we glad we did!! I got the chicken tostada and a side of rice, my brother got the beef burrito, and my parents got a mix of beef and chicken tacos. Everything was so flavorful and delicious! The chicken tasted smoked and was very moist, and the salsa had just the right amount of heat. The ladies working there were super friendly and the service was very quick! The only suggestions I would make would be to offer chips with the salsa and possibly add a queso dip to the menu, but that's just personal preference. Yummy! Sometimes you just have days when you need a quality burrito; if you're in the Charlevoix area, this place serves that purpose so well. For the past 10 years, whenever I came home to visit my parents, I'd be bummed to find no place that would offer a decent burrito. Now, I'm so grateful this place exists! And it's stuck around. I want this place to stick around. I'm tired of seeing places with good food in Charlevoix going out of business. So the next time you go to "Family Fare" or "Rite Aid," go to this place and get yourself some hearty Mexican food. I promise you'll be hooked. I know that you'd never think the food in a drive-in log cabin in the middle of a strip mall parking lot would end up serving such bomb, delicious food. However this place is unique, and the food is consistently delicious and affordable. The wait time is super reasonable. Everyone in my family loves it. When I bring friends home from New York which is a food haven , I take them here, and they ALWAYS want to go back. This place truly is offering a necessary service to the community. There's a little drive through Mexican restaurant with nice menu variety. We usually get the burritos but other members of my family have had different choices. Everything is delicious and made to order. They just opened a sit down restaurant in the same plaza. I highly recommend that everyone try this great place. Great owner too! read more
