I recently went to Luanne's again and since my last review (see my previous review 8/1/2017), I've noticed the service has gotten even worse. The wait staff smoke right outside the building, service is mediocre, forgetful, and cold. The last straw came when I requested to change an order and was told not only was it impossible, but I was accused of wasting food and being inconsiderate. My words were twisted and it felt wrong to have words be put into my mouth. Why would a business want to argue with its customers? Your food is good, but it doesn't mean you can treat your customers with disrespect. What a shame. read more

this is a really lovely place to enjoy a meal and conversation. the staff is really excellent and accommodating, the energy of the space is great- it's quiet and low key. they play great music, and the food is delicious. the pumpkin soup is 10/10, and the tea selection is unbeatable. read more

I'm just taking the time to write this because this rarely happens these days. I've never been to the location but I ordered delivery tonight. I over-ordered because I tend to be scared that I'll get something I don't like. So I got the pho, the dumplings, the scallion pancakes B, and the spring rolls. ALL OF IT was delicious. Seriously. Food was so good! I went with my girlfriend. We went on a Saturday at noon, it had just opened so we got seats really quick. We sat outside in the back. The sun was shining so it was good weather to eat outside with delicate plants as decorations. We got the General Tso Soy and the Sweet and Sour Soy. It came with white rice and veggies. Both meals had lots of taste and texture to it. It was very savory as well. For beverages we got the Lemonade and passion fruit iced tea. The Lemonade tasted very good, not too sour. While the Passion Fruit Iced Tea, although ordered sweet, was not sweet enough. Service was nice, and straightforward. Overall a pleasant spot with good food for those who favor Asian Fusion Cuisine. read more

Let me begin by saying this establishment is beautiful. It is so neat, beautiful and clean. Even the bathroom was gorgeous. Every detail of the restuarant was perfect. They had a beautiful area outside that was candlelight that customers could sit at. But we chose to sit inside at a booth inside. There was a beautiful pillow at our booth and sterling silver chopsticks to accompany our meal. The music in the restaurant was calm and relaxing. It was the perfect environment. The waitress brought us water. Which she said was filtered. We started our dinner with a Passionate Fruit Iced Tea for my friend because he wanted something he could have with no sugar and a Mint Lemonade for me-which was the perfect balance of Lemonade and Mint. The spring rolls we had as an appetizer had a light and fluffy pastry crust and were delicious. The waitress brought out my dinner :Kimchee Yaki Udon and accidentally brought out Pho for my friend. We started to eat. The noddles in my dish were amazing. The "fake meat" or soy tasted better than regular meat. My friend was really enjoying the Pho, but he realized that wasn't what he ordered. So the waitress came and she gave him his right dish. He then had Kale Avocado Shiitake. I tasted some of it. The vegetables were so fresh. And the presentation of the dish was beautiful. We finished our dinner with cheesecake for dessert. It was big enough that we shared it. He loved it. I wasn't too into it. It tasted like a wet macaroon to me. It was more like coconut than cheesecake. The waitress charged him for the Pho instead of what he ordered. That dish was $2 less. We payed $52.80.The restaurant is Vegan and Kosher. We ordered and had it delivered. It arrived early. A definite plus. It wasn't my first time ordering from Luanne's. Their green tea noodles with sesame sauce is super tasty and has never disappointed. My daughter enjoyed her sweet and sour soy as usual. It was the first time I tried the kale salad. Wow!!! Had the miso soup and the sweet potato noodles with tofu and grilled veggies. Much more on the menu to sample, but was disappointed with the noodles - was hoping for more than just a half dozen thin strips of red pepper to offset the heavy hit of sweet potato starch and sesame oil. Absolutely amazing lip smacking food. We ordered the Kimchi Udon noodles which were so so so so good without being overly spicy- just the perfect amount of flavor...and the Orange Seitan which again was super flavorful. This highlight however was the chocolate brownie- its hands-down the best vegan chocolate brownie I have ever had! My main concern with most vegan desserts are about how dry they are- but this one was just the perfect amount of moist, the perfect amount of gooey. The food here is amazing! My boyfriend and I love ending our day with a nice dinner from here. However, we have gone there two Sundays and the service was horrible! We both work in the service industry and go out of our way to make sure our customers leave happy. But the people working there on Sundays seem to be in a bad mood every time we go there. We don't plan on going there to sit down anymore. I really hope the service improves because that is key to a customers dining experience. read more

I had a wonderful post birthday dinner btw 8-8:30pm on 11/12 Sunday night having some dishes I have not tried. Everything was so wonderful that my friends tried to order more food, but the kitchen closed too soon. But, they will be back! Finally, I didn't catch the lady's name who assisted me with my order, but she and the other staff were kind and generous, surprising me with a birthday shout out! Great pan-Asian fusion place to go for dinner that can be enjoyed by both vegans and non-vegans. So glad there's another dinner option in the area (and they deliver!). I usually go for the kimchee yaki udon which is delicious and usually there's enough for lunch the next day. I also opt for the scallion pancakes with both sauce options. The only thing lacking is their dessert but I'm totally fine with just eating their yummy noodle dishes. read more

I am not vegan or vegetarian, but I have recently just started to eat that way during the week. Luanne's menu is unbelievably delicious and almost better than eating actual meat. Even my non-vegan boyfriend is bamboozled on how amazing the food is from here. The flavors, textures and combinations of vegetables in their dishes is pure art and health. I can appreciate the small container of rice that comes with meals because it's just the amount you need and surprisingly coconut flavored. The chicken nuggets are better than the real thing. I want to take all my non vegan/vegetarian friends here to show them how amazing their food is. I feel good after eating a meal from here. The restaurant is beautiful and I have yet to dine in but their take out is always perfectly packaged and cooked with care and love. I used to frequent this place - good food and a convenient neighborhood spot. But I came recently (late June 2020) on a Saturday night to order takeout, and saw the waitress making drinks without a mask on - and then she carried them on a tray held next to her face. Then I saw the chef in the kitchen (through a little window) not wearing a mask while cooking food! Needless to say, I did not order anything after seeing this. I think this lack of safety protocol is shockingly irresponsible, not to mention dangerous. Grabbed dinner on a cold spring day after going to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. The scallion pancakes are a great small plate to share with somebody. Flavorful and delicious. I got the pho, which was lovely to have on a chilly day. Wish it had a little bit more flavor, but the soy protein in it was very tasty. Good dessert options. Food is always amazing, but the service at this location is not good. We sat and got asked 5 times within 8 minutes if we were ready to order when we were clearly not ready. The waitress was rude and slammed our food down on the table and did not even offer us a dessert menu. Long story short I'll be visiting the little Italy location next time better vibes. read more

I really like the food here. However, I have to give it a low rating and will never go back after two incidents. Once there was a piece of metal (a staple?) in my food, and my last time (the last time I will go), there was a small cockroach on the wood tray that held the sizzling plate. Neither time did the waitresses comp the offending dishes, and to the contrary, they were hardly contrite. At the cockroach incident, the waitress had the audacity to suggest that the cockroach came in with the me! My pet cockroach? Not sure what their letter grade is, but I recommend a thorough cleanliness check on this place. Gross. read more

Great new place on Franklin! I've been trying a bunch of vegan places wherever I go, and Wild Ginger nailed it. The tofu in my dish was delicious, the noodles amazing and perfectly cooked, and the vegetables equally amazing. Definitely try it out if you're looking for a heavy, savory dish in the neighborhood. Awesome drinks too - get the soju mint cocktail. A tad on the pricy side but doesn't break the bank any more than nearby places, so don't let that sway you. Service was great too, our waitresses were so nice and attentive but didn't hover. GET THEE THERE! read more
