Light lunch soup and dumplings $16

So they have a Luanne's on Franklin! Yes exclamation point bc you know what I was sick and the last time I was sick I had this and was like ain't no way when I looked it up on the map. There's no way I came here bc I remember it being in Dekalb but I went anyway and it looks the EXACT same and I was surprised. The young man waiting on me confirmed they had multiple locations there was a young woman behind the bar assisting. The felt like they were a little annoyed that folks kept saying wait you have multiple locations on the walk in- or maybe they were not as chipper one would have hoped on a quite Saturday afternoon when I was under the weather but I really like Luanne's. The soup was too hot and I was unaware so I burned the crap out of my mouth and enjoying the food became difficult. The pumpkin soup was just as I had remembered and this time I tried some BOMB edamame potato fried dumplings that really just were so special. I stuck to water and ate quietly by the window until my sister pulled up with her 3 year old in a cab that parked right outside. The interior was absolutely as beautiful as the other location the red leather gives it what I said was a jazz vibe last time but what I would consider a Brooklyn touch. My meal was $16. Can't beat that

Luanne's Wild Ginger serves Pan Asian Cuisine and has several locations that include one in Fort Greene & another in the Cobble Hill section of Brooklyn. Luanne's Wild Ginger at this specific location is on Franklin Ave in the Crown Heights setcion of Brooklyn. Close to a host of other eateries such as Ras, MISC, Chavela's, etc. as well as local bars / hang-out spots Altar, The Rum Bar, etc. Luanne's is accessible via the 2,3,4, & 5 trains to Franklin Ave. Luanne's is a casual establishment w/ indoor standard table & booth-style seating options. We have been to Luanne's numerous times for dinner, and the dishes have been prepared well. We have had the following while dining at Luanne's: Stuffed Wontons -( Tapioca Cheddar & Spinach w/ Red Mango Dip) Spring Rolls - (Shredded Cabbage, Green Beans, Carrot, Mushrooms, Onions & Tofu) Cold Green Tea Noodles in Sesame Peanut Sauce Dumplings - (Minced Carrots, Potatoes, Mushrooms w/ Soy Protein) Black Pepper Seitan - (Seitan Medallions over Baby Bok Choy w/ Shiitake Garnish) Pumpkin Soup (White Beans, Sweet Potato & Kumbucha Pumpkin w/ Cilantro Garnish) - Had it recently & it was so good! Kimchi Yaki Udon - (Spicy Sautéed Basil-Ginger So, Mushrooms) Malaysian Curry Comfort Stew - (Mild Spicy, Yellow-Coconut Curry w/ Soy Medallion Kabucha Pumpkin & Broccoli). Dumplings, Spring Rolls, Kimchi Yaki Udon & Malaysian Comfort Curry Stew are definite favorites. Everything has tasted fresh and delicious. Passionfruit Ginger Sake has been ordered, and the passionfruit in it definitely has an interesting subtle flavor. The Hibiscus Kumbucha was a hit. The next time that I visit Luanne's, I will try their White Sangria. Website - luanneswildginger.com Instagram - @luanneswildginger Open Sun. - Thurs. - 12pm - 10:30pm + Fri. & Sat. - 12pm - 11pm. Luanne's Wild Ginger also has Happy Hour.

Oh my word!!!! LuAnne's! Where have you been all my life? (considering the fact I don't even live in NYC... but that's beside the point) LOL! The food here is ah-maze-zing!! For real! Come see for yourself *Ariel Fitz* First of all when you walk on the atmosphere is quite welcoming and you're greeted with polite, cheerful people. The menu items/descriptions alone are appetizing. I had the pan-fried Dumplings, LuAnne's Mix salad and Pineapple Fried Rice. Lemme tell you, these portions are HUGE!! And although everything was so delicious I couldn't eat it all, but that didn't stop me from ordering something extra to go. (wink) #greedymuch? They're definitely a new addition to my "fav" list. For sure...I'll be back *Terminator*

Had some great noodles at Luanne's. I'm a big fan of their meat substitutes and their service was super fast and easy. The menu gives you lots to choose from and everything is vegan! They have a cute backyard area that's great when the weather is warmer. They're a solid dinner choice and they do a lot of takeout so there is after space inside for seating anytime.

Came here last Monday on a date around 6:20pm. Backyard was closed so we opted for a table by the open window. The service here is really terrific, they are on it without being overbearing. Ordered my usual crispy soy, great but I do miss the old dipping sauce they used to pair it with. Got the mango lassi for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it! My date got the pad Thai and an iced tea. Pad Thai was absolutely massive so she took most of it to go. A wonderful, kosher, vegan, pan Asian cuisine spot!

If like me you are not vegan but like vegan food once in a while as a healthy meal, this place is good. I can't talk for the authenticity of the Asian food here, but as far as flavor, this is pretty good for a vegan meal. I also like that there are option that will satisfy my kid, who unfortunately is a picky eater, such as crispy soy protein nuggets, which are actually delicious. The salt and pepper king oyster mushrooms, the tempura, and the scallion pancake with hoisin sauce and mango salsa are also great, tasty choices if you want dishes to share. Other dishes I would recommend are the bo bun noodle salad, the bibim bap, the jap che, the black bean sizzling soy cutlet platter, the sweet and sour sesame soy, the eggplant with garlic and basil (really delicious!), and the big miso noodle bowl. In fact, I don't think I've tried a dish I didn't like here. Prices are reasonable for this neighborhood, with main courses priced at around $15. I also like their drinks including kombucha, mango lassi, and lychee mojito, all very reasonably priced. They have a lovely patio in the back, service is usually fast, and the atmosphere is calm and relaxing. What's not to like?

Nice lunch specials. Cozy place. Attentive and fast service. Didn't realize it had only vegan options. Had the pad Thai which was really very good and full of spicy flavor! The black pepper szechan was disappointing in flavor and can't recommend. Homemade Sangria was good as well.

Honestly all of my vegetarian friends bring me here and everyone loves it and has a good time so I will give this an extra star for my friends mainly who come here and rave about it. On my end I actually eat meat so I don't have a really great thing to say about most of the food here because I am not in love with it, not because it's vegetarian but mostly because their food lacks asian flavor. As an Asian person I understand the authenticity of these kind of places as lacking and I think I asked one of the people working there if they had fish sauce and they shrugged it off and had no idea what I was talking about. I know that there are vegetarian fish sauce out there and for my vermicelli bowl I would like vegetarian fish sauce instead of sweet and sour sauce. The "curry ramen" had good flavor but didn't have ramen noodle but had another kind of noodle so for me that didn't make sense. The flavors of most of the dishes here are fusion and not where you go to eat authentic Asian food. They also take a really long time to make the orders and also give your meals separately so while my meal was getting cold I wanted my friends to have their meals too but it took way too long. I would hope for them to improve the management with the time making the meals to make sure we all have a meal at the same time... I don't know if that's basic restaurant quality or if I'm expecting too much but these are my thoughts. I would recommend Spicy Moon for my fellow vegetarians over this place.

Nothing to write home about in my opinion. Service could've been much better. Came on a Thursday evening with very few people seated on the patio (where we were), and no one inside but still felt as if we weren't attended to. Everything seemed rushed. They were doing construction on a bench behind us while we were eating our appetizers (???), and didn't pay any mind to us after we ordered our entrees. The food was alright. Not sure I'd be back.

I went back for a weekday lunch recently and the food and atmosphere both hold up fabulously, so it makes sense why they've remained a brunch mainstay at both their East Village and Williamsburg locations. I enjoy that they serve their hot moroccan tea in a glass as is traditional, so you can see all the fresh mint leaves in your cup. I had tea like this multiple times a day during my trip to Morocco a few years back so sipping on this here took me back in time. I ordered a short stack of their blueberry pancakes which were very fluffy and delicious. They're not the kind of pancake with crispy edges, which are my preferred kind of pancake but I still found them satisfying. The moroccan eggs, which are two poached eggs in spicy stewed tomatoes and served with zahar pita is a delight. The pita is very fluffy and the zahatar adds such a nice fragrant spice to the bread. They used to serve this with potatoes but now those come at an additional charge but are well worth getting. The Williamsburg location also has pretty good wifi and they let me work on my laptop through my brief stay there. Kitchen was speedy too.

I felt like I was eating a mix of Chinese- and Indian-inspired food. The mustard greens reminded me of Chinese fare, while the touch of spicy chutney reminded me of Indian cuisine. After the main meal, I tried their fried green tea ice cream. The dessert was beautifully presented, and tasted as I would have expected: a touch of bitterness from the green tea ice cream, covered in batter. It's a beautifully designed space, and we went in the evening so it was dimly lit and had good tunes, contributing to an intimate and cool vibe. The service throughout was good both by our primary server and the rest of the team that was bringing out dishes. For the food, we did not feel that it was a strong start, but the ending was great! The first dish to come out was their cornbread, which we agreed was very light and had a super tender texture, but there was just nothing special about the taste profile to us. The second dish were their prawns. We couldn't put our finger on the off-putting flavor in there, but we agreed that something just wasn't right and almost tasted spoiled. You also had to work a bit to dissect the prawns and remove the heads and skin. To work for it and then not enjoy the taste wasn't a great combo for us, unfortunately. It started turning around with their sweet potatoes, a type I'd never had before that were "baby" and purple on the outside while white inside. They served the potatoes with a gorgeously whipped Greek yogurt that added the exact right amount of tang to balance the sweet potato and the herby topping. The stars of the night were the coconut basmati rice and the lamb shank. My goodness! The rice dish was so complex from a flavor and texture profile and just hit all the right notes for us, and that lamb! Definitely one of the best lamb dishes I've had - Impossibly tender and seasoned to perfection. One other note I'll make regarding drinks is that they did not have a strong wine list. I ended up ordering a red, but later heard our waiter recommend against getting their wine to another table and suggesting their cocktails and mocktails instead. Just something to keep in mind if you're a wine lover!

Some of the items inside look like they're either for sale or just meant for display, which is fine, but I feel like it distracts from the main purpose, which is serving food and being a comfortable resting spot. It's no fault of the place, but the vibe is a mix of reggae, African folk music, and incense, and it contrasts sharply with the environment outside. There's an Italian restaurant across the street blasting Frank Sinatra type music, so the clash is noticeable. I feel like maybe the sound could be adjusted or balanced somehow. As part of the promotion, I ordered the vegan lentil soup. It was okay, nothing special but not bad. Then I was served an iced chai latte, and most of the spices sank to the bottom under the ice. After I swirled it, the spices still didn't have much flavor. It wasn't strong or pungent, and you couldn't really taste the spices or feel any of the digestive benefits chai is usually known for. It didn't taste like tea; it was just mildly sweet. I could see myself drinking it with a dessert, but it didn't stand out on its own. The service was friendly. I hope this place the best and want it to succeed but it needs to literally clean up.
