While visiting friends in Lubbock, we found this local favorite in town. The best way to describe this is "true breakfast comfort food". They took some of your favorite food combinations and made them breakfast items. Things like "Meat Lovers Waffles"! Waffles with bacon, sausage and ham mixed in. Fish sandwiches, and "Breakfast Cheeseburgers". The menu is quite extensive. Any breakfast item you can imagine and then some. We tried the "Sweet Potato Pancakes", with a burger patty. This is for the new location on S. Loop and Quaker. My wife wanted to go to IHOP after church but it was a long wait. We decided to give Lbb Breakfast a try. Their prices are higher than IHOP. I ordered 2 pancakes and she ordered a traditional breakfast. I really like IHOP's pancakes so I didn't have high expectations. I was pleasantly surprised with how good they were! Good and hot. I ate some ham and sausage from my Wife's plate and it was very good. At my age I don't mind paying more if the food is good. And it was! So we found a winner! Well done! read more

Driving out of town and came on Thursday morning at around 10 am. Got seated right away by friendly staff and got our order in and food on the table pretty quickly. A steady stream of loyal customers were coming in. Food was decent and generous. Enjoyed my big bacon on my Mega Breakfast: 3 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage and choice of hash browns or potatoes, and choice of 2 pancakes or toast. I was able to share my pancakes with my boys. Hubs ordered the California Eggs Benedict and liked it and the boy ordered a Ham, eggs and cheese sandwich. Orange juice is by the bottle. Restrooms were clean. read more

Terrible service Ordered standard country fried steak breakfast for me and my wife, but there were burnt jalapeños in our hash browns. Manager said they don't clean their deep fryer, and admitted to the issue. Both our plates had burnt jalapeños mixed with our hashbrowns. I was travelling through Lubbock and checked yelp for a good breakfast spot and this place came up with good reviews so I sought it out. Everyone who worked there seemed very nice and they knew a lot of their customers by their first name. The place itself is plain on the outside and the inside, there is parking but it is a busy parking lot shared with a lot of other businesses. I went with the mega breakfast which consisted of 3 eggs, 2 strips of bacon, 2 pork links, hash browns and whole wheat toast for $ 7.99. The price is good for that much food I can't argue that and the service was slow but with a smile. My food was just ok, the bacon was burned, my eggs were cold but the hash browns were cooked just right. For the price I can't complain but I wouldn't go back there again. I had to go to the front counter without a bill since I didn't see my waitress again after I got my food. The place was real noisy so I didn't really get to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee to start my day. read more

We waited an hour just to be seated so we don't even know if it was worth it. We were a party of 8 and watched as several parties of 2, 3, and 4 were sat before us. The restaurant we usually frequent would have held one of these small tables and waited for another small table and merged the tables together to seat us sooner. When we asked how much longer the wait would be and we were advised there was only one family of 5 before us. This family was sat and then 15 minutes later we had watched at least 2 more parties of 2 and 3 be sat before we just left. During an impromptu trip to Lubbock, my friends and I knew we had to stop for brunch and try out the southern breakfast that I hear so much about. Lubbock's Breakfast House and Grill sounded pretty good, and it was on the way to where we needed to go. The wait wasn't too bad on a late Saturday morning, and we ended up waiting only about 10 minutes before they had a table available for us. They have a ton of breakfast items on their menu - from stuffed waffles, to omelettes, to breakfast platters. If you come here with a pretty empty stomach, I'm pretty sure you'll think that everything sounds pretty good. I ended up ordering the blueberry pancake combo, which included 2 eggs and a choice of 2 slices of bacon or 2 sausage links. Originally I thought the blueberries were baked into the pancakes. The pancakes are actually topped with your choice of blueberries or strawberries along with some whipped cream. At $7.69, I think this is a pretty decent price. I thought the pancakes were pretty tasty - they were cooked well and fluffy enough. The blueberries and whipped cream only added a bit of flavor to that top pancake, and the one below it was a bit dry. Eggs and bacon were okay - nothing awesome about them. My friends ordered omelettes and Eggs Benedict. The portions looked pretty big, and the hash browns and potatoes all seemed to be cooked fairly well. My friend also made her side of pancakes to be sweet potato pancakes for an extra $1, allowing me to try their famous pancakes. I thought they were pretty tasty, although the consistency of the sweet potato pancake was a bit drier than the regular buttermilk ones. The taste is not as sweet, but it definitely tastes healthier and more fulfilling. I would recommend trying these pancakes out if you're a fan of breakfast foods. Service was pretty good. Workers were friendly enough and the food came out fairly quickly. We were in and out of the restaurant in under an hour. tl;dr - If you're in the mood for some southern breakfast cooking, definitely give this place a try. I would stick to their more traditional dishes, but I highly recommend trying the sweet potato pancakes! read more

Since I travel to Lubbock so much, I'm trying to make my way to all its hidden little gems that I otherwise wouldn't know about without Yelp and help of the users. This restaurant stands up to its rating and I'm glad I came/tried it. Good food, fast service and decent prices. The only thing that got me to leave out a star was the flies pestering me by my booth by the window. They never landed on my food or cane close but they landed on me and buzzed around that window.
