But they need a better foil type wrapper because the burger is so juicy (the wrapper tears as you eat it). Tge napkins are super thin....and very cheap. It might be nice to purchase quality strong napkins for your customers. The fries are okay, as far as fries go. Just like everywhere else...the bag is okay that they are put in. When I asked wait what in the world I was given my 2 pounds of meat she decided to heat up and charge me for and was told It is what it is. My husband was laughed at when he said hey no this surely isn't ok we don't want that for that price at all. She turned and spoke about him in Spanish and made fun of him thinking we don't understand. When we asked for a manager or owner or someone to speak to we were told the lady present was management and she refused to do anything for us. She said she would not offer any assistance and that's just that. And just stood smiling with sarcasm. If your charging a price like that Maybe say hey I'm going to charge you $45 for pounds of meat and $8 for an extra ounce of sauce - and when someone expresses frustration and unfair treatment YOUR IN THE SERVICE INDUSTRY! There are several places in Lubbock to get a very good burger-- Blue Sky, Spanky's, Wrecked, for example--but Christaki's takes the blue ribbon. In fact, I doubt there's a better burger joint in West Texas. The fries, although very basic, are wonderful. Chili cheese dogs, steak fingers and hamburger steak are also superb. Service is unfailingly prompt and friendly, and the restaurant, despite being very busy, is kept clean. What's not to love? PS--I do wish they would add a green chile cheeseburger to their menu. Used to be regular customers here, but it's honestly been several years since we've been in, until tonight. I was so excited for the cold atmosphere and enchilada plate, but that has changed since last visit. The menu has been scaled down to mostly sandwiches, and the thermostat (which used to be almost too cold) has been turned up by roughly 15 degrees, making it uncomfortably warm in the place. I had the hamburger steak, which was perfectly cooked, but covered in a boring canned brown gravy. Tater tots were perfectly cooked, and salad was plain lettuce and tomato. My wife had a Philly cheesesteak that was incredibly bland, but rich and juicy. Overall, a good sandwich, just no seasoning. Building used to be adorned by pics of the Lubbock area and Texas Tech, but is now bare walls filled with holes where pics once hung. Still seemed to be clean, just lacking the personality and refreshing temperature that we remembered. Honestly, the food was decent, neither bad nor great. We ate at for $23.00, which was nice, but I'd have been happy to pay a few bucks more for the old environment. Also, the staff seemed less than thrilled to be employed, which was too bad. read more

We were hungry for lunch driving thru town. Were thinking of getting burgers since this is a burger joint but the waitress, or perhaps she's the owner, suggested we try the gyro. I started giving this place another chance. The past two times everything has been good. Today I ordered two cheeseburger meals w/fries and a drink. Cheeseburger's and drink were ok. The fries were horrible they were reheated in the microwave and were hard on the ends. They were not freshly cooked. I thought I was hearing things when I was at the window placing my order, I over heard one of the ladies asked the other lady what she needed to do with the fries . The other lady responded and said "Just microwave them I don't care"! I thought hmm... maybe I heard wrong. After receiving my order, I then knew I had heard their conversation correctly. l was the unlucky person to get the reheated fries!! Never again will I pay to get partially reheated meals!!
