Chorizo, 2 eggs, hash browns w/ toast!
    Ron P.

Very pleasantly surprised! We were on the road heading to Dallas and wanted to grab breakfast. We ordered the two eggs, chorizo, hash browns with toast for $6. Note - You have the option to mix the chorizo in with your eggs if you order them scrambled. I had my eggs easy over and they were perfect, the hash browns had a nice crisp and were not greasy at all. The chorizo was very tasty and the plate comes with a small serving of a nice zesty hot (maybe habanero) sauce to spice it up if desired. You have a choice of wheat or white toast with choice of jelly. As a bonus our waitress brought us a nice sized serving of watermelon at no additional charge! Food -4- Great basic breakfast, quality ingredients being well prepared! Service - 4.5- Attentive and Friendly and we pleasantly surprised with the watermelon treat at the end as we had already been billed! Atmosphere -3- It's clean nothing outstanding at a truck stop. Price 5 - With tip we had breakfast for 3 for $30. This included a hot danish for $1 that my son ordered. Excellent price for the food we had! I would drop in here often if I were a local! O A - 4.5 Great value for the money. No frills!

If you have eaten at one of the other Tech Cafe's around town, then you know how great the food is and how attentive the service is. This one is a bit smaller then the others and located (seriously) in the Chisom Truck Stop. I almost feel like I'm doing an injustice giving a truck stop food joint a four star rating but this IS GOOD FOOD. If you are coming from DFW on hwy 84 then I would definitely recommend stopping by and grabbing a bite to eat. Tech Cafe has seceded in creating a loyal following of locals and this spot is no different; I drive from downtown just to get a great meal and I'm usually seating in vicinity of truckers, cops, business men and women, out of towners, and fanatics (I fit the last category). Today I had a bacon cheese burger with tator tots (they serve breakfast all day and that's usually what I get) and could barely finish. The burger was probably 4-5 inches tall with all the fixings and the 14 pounds of tator tots were pulled to my table by one of the tracker trailers in the parking lot. This restaurant is a pretty sure bet and something I would highly recommend whether you're coming, going, or staying.

    Fried catfish special.

They have a few tables inside and outside, we sat inside. There was one individual working for orders and they were a delight. Very friendly and patient as we weren't sure what to get. Coffee was tasty, and we went with the southwestern omelet, French toast, 1 blueberry pancake and breakfast plate with ham. Highly recommended to order the hash browns well done (1 plate and 1 did not) and wished I had done the well done ones. Next time. The food was great and everything came out hot. As they are a make to order kitchen, patience is key for greatness. We also ordered a few of the fried pies to go....so the verdict is still out on those. I doubt they won't be delicious based on the meal. Great place to checkout if in the area.

You have to go behind the counter and into the kitchen where the food is being prepared. I didn't mind because that's what everyone else was doing. I liked walking past the tables and seeing all the dishes other people got. The food looked really good, especially the blueberry pancakes. My granddaughter got French toast, one egg and sausage. The rest of us got breakfast burritos. I got a side of ham for my dog, Baxter. Our burritos were delicious and huge. Baxter liked his large serving of ham and was disappointed when he finished. I had a bite of ham and I can affirm it was delicious. My only complaint about the menu is that they don't offer a choice of bread with the breakfasts. The traditional egg and meat and omelette breakfasts all come with toast. You can get pancakes or biscuits but that's in a different section. You can always order something from the biscuit or pancake section and add a side of eggs and or meat. This is a unique restaurant and well worth checking out.
