On 7-23-12 I decided to go to Lube N Go to get my oil changed because I had a 10 dollar coupon. Otherwise, I usually go to jiffy lube (in Paso). But I was in the area and decided to get that done. Everything worked out fine except for the fact that they put in and charged me for a new air filter which I told them not to do. I told them I'd do that next time and I chose to just get the new transmission "merconv svc" fluid. And I found this out before I left as I sat in the car. I should have went back in to talk to them but I figured that I needed it anyway but even so, I was a little ticked that they went ahead and did that and charged me for it. At least get an order right. Otherwise, it's usually goes smoothly there. I guess I'll stay totally loyal to jiffy lube. read more

I would give them 0 stars if that was an option. The kids working here don't now anything about cars absolutely horrible. They put the wrong oil in my diesel and forgot to oil the ring before putting the filter back on, causing it to weld itself to the block. Do not recommend taking your car here. read more

Avoid at all costs......first time I came by to get an oil change, they lost my oil dipstick. The second time I went in for an oil change and went for the convenient smog check. The smog test failed due to visual inspection.....but passed the standards on the machine. The technician said I basically needed a new engine....and that their other shop could do the work. I took my car to my mechanic, who saw no issues with smoke, and passed it with flying colors. He went so far as to say it was running better than most cars, and that the technician was smoking crack. read more

Buyer beware of additional costs. You may think you are getting a $39.99 oil change but you will pay additional if they have to remove the skid plate, have a 'special' filter on your vehicle, need extra oil, own a 4x4, etc. I had a $10 coupon thinking I'd pay $29.99 and be done. Not so much. I had a $4.99 skid plate charge added, additional $7.50 charge for extra oil and an $8.99 filter charge. Never again. I still paid over $50 for an oil change and that was WITH the coupon. How can they justify their prices when competitors do it for $19.99. Then they had the audacity to recommended a new air filter. They are not getting any more of my money. read more

Beware...they will take advantage of you! Even if you are a woman unlike their advertisement on TV says! I went in for an oil with a $10 off coupon. When dropping off my car the tech yelled at me from another car he was checking in and said regular oil, I replied yes and infromed him I had a coupon. When I came to pick up my vehicle my total went from $29.00 to $46. I questioned the total and was told my car required a "special" oil not used often and cost $5 extra. I have a 2002 Civic and have never paid more from Sears or Jiffy Lube. I informed the cashier who said well maybe you should go back to Sears! Well don't worry I will. Then I received my receipt and asked where my $10 was taken off he assured me it had been, well it wasn't only $5 had been. He then grabbed $5 and threw it at me. I will enever go back again! I am happy to drive and extra 15 minutes to SLO to be treated with respect and not be nickled and dimed! read more

I have been going to Lube N Go at this location for well over a year now, and have always been pleased with the service. The guys here are very quick and personable. Anthony always makes sure to explain what I need. Being a woman, we always feel like we get ripped off at car maintenance shops, but I am so comfortable here. I got a smog check, wind shield wipers, and an oil change, for the BEST price possible! Thank you Anthony and crew for your kindness, professionalism, and quickness. I will definitely be going back to Jiffy Lube. I got a flier in the mail for $5 off an oil change ($35) and saw that the owner was a cal poly grad so I decided to give them a try. I waited 5-10 minutes in the store for someone to help me which was my first sign I should go somewhere else. Once someone greeted me they acted like I was an idiot for not pulling up to the bay (sorry this is only my 2nd oil change). They checked my car out and quoted me a price of $85 because my car needs synthetic oil. I let them know I was only looking to spend about $40 and that I got an oil change prior from jiffy lube and only paid about $25-$35 (Groupon). The guy proceeded to tell me my vehicle requires synthetic oil and if I don't use it my warranty will be voided. I let him know my car is a used rental car and I know for a fact that synthetic oil was never used which would basically void my warranty from the get go. I showed him my receipt and just asked that he do what jiffy lube had done before. This is when the guy made feel worse and said well I'm going to right a disclaimer that you are not doing what I've suggested. So in the end I got belittled, paid $67 when I wanted to pay around $40 ,and my windshield wiper fluid wasn't even filled when they clearly know it wasn't full because of the sensor on my dash. read more

So, I don't know what has changed, but my recent trip was not impressive. They got my oil changed in a timely manner, but the up sell tactics were sad. They always want to change my filters (which I do myself ) and they didn't even show me the filter (cabin) from my car! I mark my filters and it wasn't mine! Also tried to get me to have the battery contacts cleaned which I declined and they cleaned and charged me for anyway! I will also mention that at a previous visit, they tried to show me how dirty my transmission fluid was and tried to get me to"flush"it. ..I have a sealed transmission. I seriously would've just been better off driving to LA and back with old oil. The incompetency of some people straight blows my mind. The "low oil" indicator light was on after my oil change. The excuse? "Yeah. We don't know how to fix that?" Seriously? Ya put OIL IN THE CAR!!! How did that light come to be on in the first place? Oh, you don't know??? Well, how many quarts did you put in it? YOU DONT KNOW THAT EITHER!? At first he claimed he didn't know how much oil he put in my car. (How do you NOT know???) Then he said they only put "425" (which, God help me, I'm assuming is 4.25 quarts) when my manual clearly show my car needs 5.3... and I have to sit and listen to the kid gripe and grumble about "not gonna be responsible for when your car blows up from too much oil..." Well, dude, you're already responsible to running it LOW on oil, so which do you want to be responsible for?! There wasn't a manager available to talk to, but apparently he'll be in tomorrow. I'll see if I can get a refund so I can redo this oil change myself. Ggggrrrraaaahhhhh!! NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN!! Also, wash my windows and vacuum my interior?? Yeah, that didn't happen either. I despise getting any type of car service. It's inconvenient and I hate waiting. My oil light had come on so I had no choice but to take my car in for an oil change. I timed it with a workout at a nearby gym. In the middle of my work out, Monte comes in (not a good sign), asking me if I've hit something. As a matter of fact, yes, I had. About 6 weeks ago, I went to park my car on what I thought was just a dirt path at my son's football practice. Apparently, among the dirt and weeds, lies an invisible tree stump that I hit pretty hard. I checked for damage but didn't see any. That's because it was underneath. It made a huge hole in my oil pan. I drove the shit out of my car with no oil in it! Instead of an oil change, I needed a new oil pan. James and Michael ordered the part and were kind enough to let me do two payments. I am so grateful and will definitely bring my car here from now on. Jiffy Lube and Wal-Mart can suck it! I went there for an oil change on a 2005 Scion with 185,000 miles. The tech told me that when he scanned the VIN # it shows that it requires a synthetic oil change, which is an additional 30 dollars. I told him to just put conventional oil in it and he acted a little upset but told me they could do that but he would have to note it on the account and it would void my warranty. Obviously there is no warranty so it was a hollow threat but it made me suspicious of their business practices. I won't be going back because if they are going to lie to me to up sell me something I don't need, what else will they lie about. I don't trust them to do the work completely. read more

Not sure about these guys- they put just plain water into my window washer fluid- I took a risk and tasted it just to confirm- and sure enough- tap water. They did change the oil though! Went in yesterday for an oil change, was already not feeling good when I left my car with the kid because he left my door opened & rolled down the passenger side window when it was starting to drizzle. He was working on another car in the bay so I walked back & closed my door & rolled the window back up. When he was setting my car up I specifically told him "not" to roll down the driver side window because it wasn't working. And because of all the rains we are having I made sure he was aware of this. I came back 35 minutes later to find an older gentleman who had my door apart with the wiring harness in his hand, sticking an open paper clip into the connectors. I was pissed! I asked what they were doing & the older gentleman told me the kid rolled down the window by accident & he was trying to help him get it back up. First of all, you didn't get my permission to take my car apart, I just came in for a fricking oil change! Then the older man has the nerve to tell me if I would like for them to take the door panel off so they could try to get the window up. Are you serious?! I don't think these numb nuts know what the word liability is & they probably thought I was a stupid young girl who doesn't know anything. Well surprise, I'm a middle age woman who works for the city & I'll make sure to warn other people especially women not to go there. Another reason I didn't want to take it here is because I went in with my friend last month & they tried ripping her off by telling her she needed synthetic oil for her jeep. By the time she was out the door it would've cost her $100. She ended up taking it to the Jeep dealership & paid $55. Be aware people they don't know what they're doing & will rip off women if they can! I hope whoever the owner is they would start noticing what's going on here. I saw a bay open so parked my car as usual when I arrive for the oil change. I was asked to move my car to the next bay behind another car, they pulled a car in from the lot to service next. I moved over and the service clerk asked me no questions. Not even if I wanted extra services. I went about the center doing my shopping. In about 20 mins I returned with my 89 yr old mother in tow, and they had not even started on my car except to move it back to the other bay. A service clerk came in and said I needed a emissions/fuel system cleaning, that my engine was really dirty, I told him i had a new engine since August, his tone was very sharp and snapped that he was only telling me. We waited about 30 mins more then it was ready. I handed the clerk my coupons. One was for free wipes, he yelled out to the bay for Mike to put on a set of wipers. Mike did the wipers, leaving my car door open and went back to work did not advise me that he was done or "Have a Nice Day." I work with the public daily and I think this store needs some more people skills. This has been the worse After 15yrs doing business there I am done. read more
