Luca pizza is the best pizza in town, hands down! Both of my kids are picky eaters and even they devoured the pizza! I must comment to Anthony B. They do not freeze the pie's they bake fresh cheese pizza then add the toppings you want for your slice. The seating in the restaurant is no different than what it was at the mall. Know what you are talking about before you review. read more

We got a thin crust supreme pizza from Luca Pizza based on all the positive reviews we read in Yelp. These reviews must have been written by employees, family members and friends. There is nothing special about their pizza. The slices were so limp and greasy that we could not pick them up to eat them. The flavor was a little like Pizza Hut. The Italian dressing on the salad was bad enough to make it inedible. They should go to Sam's Pizza to find out what it should taste like. We will not be back. read more

Found this place on Yelp. It's in a strip mall and not much to look at, but don't let that stop you. The pizza is excellent! The crust, sauce, cheese, and toppings are all just right. My husband had the chef salad and said it was great, he especially liked the salami in it. They even served bottled beer, so that's a nice bonus. read more

Outstanding Value! This family-style restaurant has been around since 1977. I can see why. I had the pizza; excellent spicy sauce on a generously-sized pie with a moderately thin but still chewy crust. Thick crust is an option. The salad was also generously-sized. My spouse and I couldn't finish either our small pizza or the salad (I demanded a box for the leftover pizza; I wasn't going to let that get away). The service was excellent. All the pasta dishes come with a half loaf of garlic bread. The check - I may frame it and hang it on the wall at home to amaze my San Francisco Bay Area friends. At home, I would count myself lucky to get away with paying twice what I paid at Luca! There's not a lot of atmosphere at Luca. Don't expect to see Kim Kardashian dining there. But for great-tasting wholesome food at a terrific price, I dare you to try to do better! read more

This place is just a little hole in the wall, but the pizza is great and the beer was cold! You go to the counter to place your order and to pick it up. We had never been there before. We ordered a supreme, it was wonderful! You can buy it by the slice, but we got a large pizza, and I'm glad we did, as I had a slice this morning and there's more in the frig. Worst customer service ever! After being called a liar (I was standing two feet from him when I watched him do what he did then totally deny it), I asked for my money back. Manager was not able to refund $3 for a piece of pizza I never touched without calling the owner. I asked to have the owner call me and never heard from him. Went to Luca's pizza on dirkson with my parents. My Dad had a coupon to buy a 20 inch pizza and get a 10 inch pizza free. We got 3 salads and ordered a 20 inch pizza with sausage and pepperoni and the same on the 10 inch. We were told the 10 inch was only a cheese. We said yes and we would pay for the toppings. They said they were not allowed to put the toppings on the pizza. We could pay for them and they would put them on the side.??? They said the owner was cheap and would not let them serve it with toppings. I said it doesn't cost any more to put them on the pizza,and we were paying for the toppings...... It's still no.... So we asked for the 10inch to go and the topping came on the side in plastic cups with lids. .....Sooooo instead of just putting it on the pizza he just paid for 2 cups and 2 lids....... Let's make this simple. The space that Luca is in is very small. Not much seating, not much room to move, or anything else. Most people probably just grab their order and go. It is pretty fast once you order (because most of the pizzas are pre-made and frozen for a speedy heat up). The taste isn't too bad, but not the best, and the pizza slices are as big as your head! I wouldn't really call this place such an awesome restaurant. All it's good for is a fast order, easy walk-in and go pick up, and if you are fine with just ok pizza. Overall, not too bad. read more

Pros: 1. The Pizza 2. Order by the Slice Cons: 1. Service 2. Pay for refills. Ok for starters. Lucas is the only place in the area that you can get pizza that taste like the traditional new york style pizza. I actually like thier pizza very much. Nice char marks on the crust. I also love you can order by the slice and don't have to order an entire pizza. Its took 2 stars away for the service. The people there are not rude or anything but the whole system they have on how to take orders and everything sucks. Lucas pizza has been there for about 20-30 years. You would have think they perfected their order system over the years but they haven't. You you walk in you go to the counter and order what you want and pay. They will yell your order to the back "2 slices of pepperoni". This is where the problems start. What if they forgot to yell your order back (which has happened to me more than once let me tell you) or the person in the back is either busy or doesn't hear them. If you don't hear them yell your order back make sure you say something or you will be waiting for awhile. Why don't they write your order down or print it out or something. Come on Lucas you know its flawed. Next problem comes when they try to announce your pizza is ready. "2 slices of peperoni up" . Come on Lucas how many people do you think order that huh? How likely is it to get screwed up? Very!!! I've caught them figuring out the screwed up my order and trying to fix it 10-15 minutes later (they forgot to call out my order). How about a free meal? 1/2 on your next visit? Nope they wont' do anything. Also if you order anything special. For example ask for a side of ranch with pizza when you go up for your pizza slices at the end you will have to ask for it again because i would say in about 2% of the cases do they remember. The no free refills isn't such a big deal. I mean its only .25 but you have to go digging around to find a quarter (if you even have money with you cause you paid with a credit card). I didn't reduce any stars by this but i did want to note it. read more

Luca is good stuff! It's as close to NY style pizza as Springfield can get. Pretty inexpensive too in comparison to other places in town.

I ordered pizza from here at 8:52 PM and we had to call back twice to ask when the delivery driver would be here. He finally showed up at 10:19 PM. Needless to say I wouldn't pay for the order and he wouldn't give it to us for free since we had to wait so long. This is the 2nd time this happened this month from this pizza place.
