We were promptly greeted and seated. Our server came over right away and offered drinks and had bread and butter sent to the table. She took our drink order and meal order as well. I had the linguine with seafood, very good and generous portion. My wife had the veal parmigiana which came with lemon butter sauce with rigatoni. She didn't like the marinara sauce though it was a little acidic. For dessert we had a piece of apple bread pudding to go. Very good service.

First time at this restaurant, a young lady hostess greeted us, and we were seated quickly. The place seemed very quiet, with a small bar. Our server was pleasant and went over the specials which we passed on. We ordered some drinks, apps, and two main dishes, which were just OK and not worth the price or second chance. Overall we did not feel welcomed.

Service and food were both excellent! Cioppino and hogfish were recommended both were delicious. What a little gem for the area!

Outside of Italy, Venice Florida is a wonderful place to eat old-school Italian food. In fact, there are many choices when you want to visit an Italian restaurant in this part of Florida. Your first decision is to decide what kind of Italian food you want, a pizza place, a sit at the bar, watch TV and eat pasta type place, or maybe a special occasion place. We were hosting an out-of-town guest who has traveled in Italy extensively, so we wanted to impress him a bit. Lucarelli's was our choice. Quite unassuming from the outside, the small restaurant sits in a strip mall on the 41. Inside, the vibe is New York City or Boston neighborhood upscale Italian clubhouse. And Italian wine list and traditional Italian food, all excellent. There are white tablecloth and waiters that genuinely care about your food and table service. A bottle of Super Tuscan wine got us warmed up. My meal started with a fresh Caesar salad which included anchovies. For the main course I enjoyed the veal piccata, well portioned medallions of veal that were dipped in egg and flour and simmered perfectly in a lemony butter sauce and then topped with capers and served over a bed of al dente pasta. Absolutely delicious! This is a place to eat exceptional Italian food and you might even want to consider it for a special occasion in Venice. You won't be disappointed, you can count on coming here for a great dinner.

This was a small spot with traditional Italian options with a few twists that were part of the menu as well. The establishment was decked out in Christmas decor as that was the time of year I attended. The friendly service was appreciated and the food came out in a timely matter. There were different types of bread including a pretzel roll that started the meal. They served these types of bread with a garlic butter, good start to a wonderful meal. For an appetizer, the family style antipasto salad was ordered ($15 per person for 4-5 guests). This was served in a bowl to everybody by the staff. It was a nice size portion for each guest. It consisted of a traditional antipasto salad (Italian meats, cheeses, olives, greens). It was all very tasty and fresh. I had the Italian combo plate ($35) for my entree. It consisted of beef and cheese ravioli, a stuffed shell, a piece of manicotti, a portion of lasagna, rigatoni with a Bolognese sauce, chicken parmesan, a meatball, and sausage. It was an absolute monster of a dish. I asked the waiter how much it weighed, but he was unaware. He did tell me he never saw somebody finish the dish before, but alas, I was the first he saw finish it!! I am usually not one to get the traditional Italian choices at a restaurant, but I was tempted to try this plate that offered all. The pastas were much better than the meat here. The Bolognese was probably the best meat aspect of the dish. The red gravy was light and appetizing. For dessert, I tried the limoncello cake ($8) as well as the toasted almond cream cake ($8). I preferred the limoncello one by far here. It was light and refreshing with ton of lemon flavor, one of my favorite cakes I had in recent memory. The toasted almond cake consisted of lady fingers in amaretto with layers of soft mascarpone cream topped with crushed almonds and powdered sugar. This was alright, something seemed off. It felt like some ingredient threw me off here. Will I go back? Yes.

Classy inside, first class service and excellent food. Priced accordingly. Not what you would expect from a strip mall restaurant.

Does it have a full bar?

Yes we ordered drinks, I always however opt for the Italian beer.

Why would this restaurant close at 8?

Because people eat dinner early in Venice Florida.

My Ravioli di Mare was delicious with excellent sauce - shrimp were decent - doubt if they're local. My partner's Strozzapreti Chianti was also an excellent choice. Very nice noodles. Salads were very good. Drinks were good. Restaurant was nice. The not so good - I made a reservation for two. So when we got there only two tables in the restaurant were occupied. We were placed right next to a couple whom I believe thought we were uncomfortably close. No reason for that as the place wasn't busy and we could've sat elsewhere. The place is expensive. More than it should've been. But that doesn't detract from the food which was very good so the price isn't a show-stopper. All except for the limoncello desert. Tasted like it was store bought - expect better for nearly $11 a slice. But the topper for us was - With just two tables occupied - the other couple had left - a Medical professional (who most likely just got off her shift) came in by herself looking for a table. She was told they couldn't accommodate her - they were closing early and she was turned away. The place was no where near closing time - no closed sign on the door. We both found that off-putting. Hence the 3 stars which otherwise would've been 4. Whether we will return there. Si' o No? I'll leave it at that... Buona sera. Buona sera.

This place is the opposite of a chain restaurant. It's clearly a family business that takes pride in preparing every dish. The service was outstanding; the staff was attentive and on top of everything. My wife and I split an appetizer: meatballs with marinara sauce and Parmesan cheese. The dish was perfectly executed. I found it hearty, satisfying, and full of authentic Italian flavor. The menu features many daily specials, and today the veal parmesan caught my eye. The cutlets were beautifully prepared. Pounded thin, they were tender, and topped with a rich, fresh marinara sauce. The cheese was bubbly and golden. All the elements came together in a dish finished to perfection. The pasta was homemade spaghetti, cooked tender yet firm, and generously coated in marinara sauce. I would order this meal again, but there are so many other items on the daily specials list to try. I can't wait to come back.

We have been loyal customers of Asaro's for seven years. My parents are regulars who visit…read morefrequently, and whenever family comes to town from up north, this is where we bring them. It has always been our go-to. This past Sunday, our experience was deeply disappointing and frankly unlike anything we have encountered here before. We ordered two pizzas and salads. The margherita pizza -- which my parents had ordered just one week prior without any issues -- arrived completely different. It had an additional cheese layered beneath the fresh mozzarella that was overcooked and almost burnt. The crust on both pizzas was so hard it could not be folded (anyone from the East Coast knows you fold your pizza), and my son was unable to cut through it with a knife and fork. It was inedible. We sent both pizzas back. The server returned and offered to remake only one, insisting the second was fine. It was not. When we pointed out that the margherita is traditionally just fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, and basil -- and that this was not what was served -- we were told "this is how we do it." We have been ordering this pizza for seven years. It was not how they do it. The one pizza that was remade came back only marginally better. We did not ask again. From that point, our table was completely abandoned. Every glass at our table was empty. Not the server, not a busser, not a single person passing by stopped to offer water or check on us. My father eventually had to go inside to find someone. My son had to walk to our car in the parking lot to retrieve his water bottle, and I went to my car to get a sparkling water I happened to have in the cup holder. That is how thirsty we were and how little attention our table received. The indifference started even before the food arrived. When we declined cocktails and handed back the drink list, letting the server know we would all just be having water, the reaction was visibly dismissive and unwelcoming -- not the kind of response anyone expects when simply choosing not to order alcohol. The hostess, as has been the case on prior visits, was visibly disgruntled and unwelcoming. We understand that Sunday service is busy. We were patient and did not make a scene. We simply wanted food that was edible and basic attentiveness as paying customers. Neither was provided. My mother, who has been one of their most consistent regulars, left saying she did not want to return. That says everything. For a restaurant that benefits enormously from a captive local audience and steady tourist traffic, this level of disregard for loyal, long-term customers is disappointing. We hope management takes this feedback seriously.
