We were promptly greeted and seated. Our server came over right away and offered drinks and had bread and butter sent to the table. She took our drink order and meal order as well. I had the linguine with seafood, very good and generous portion. My wife had the veal parmigiana which came with lemon butter sauce with rigatoni. She didn't like the marinara sauce though it was a little acidic. For dessert we had a piece of apple bread pudding to go. Very good service.

First time at this restaurant, a young lady hostess greeted us, and we were seated quickly. The place seemed very quiet, with a small bar. Our server was pleasant and went over the specials which we passed on. We ordered some drinks, apps, and two main dishes, which were just OK and not worth the price or second chance. Overall we did not feel welcomed.

Service and food were both excellent! Cioppino and hogfish were recommended both were delicious. What a little gem for the area!

Outside of Italy, Venice Florida is a wonderful place to eat old-school Italian food. In fact, there are many choices when you want to visit an Italian restaurant in this part of Florida. Your first decision is to decide what kind of Italian food you want, a pizza place, a sit at the bar, watch TV and eat pasta type place, or maybe a special occasion place. We were hosting an out-of-town guest who has traveled in Italy extensively, so we wanted to impress him a bit. Lucarelli's was our choice. Quite unassuming from the outside, the small restaurant sits in a strip mall on the 41. Inside, the vibe is New York City or Boston neighborhood upscale Italian clubhouse. And Italian wine list and traditional Italian food, all excellent. There are white tablecloth and waiters that genuinely care about your food and table service. A bottle of Super Tuscan wine got us warmed up. My meal started with a fresh Caesar salad which included anchovies. For the main course I enjoyed the veal piccata, well portioned medallions of veal that were dipped in egg and flour and simmered perfectly in a lemony butter sauce and then topped with capers and served over a bed of al dente pasta. Absolutely delicious! This is a place to eat exceptional Italian food and you might even want to consider it for a special occasion in Venice. You won't be disappointed, you can count on coming here for a great dinner.

This was a small spot with traditional Italian options with a few twists that were part of the menu as well. The establishment was decked out in Christmas decor as that was the time of year I attended. The friendly service was appreciated and the food came out in a timely matter. There were different types of bread including a pretzel roll that started the meal. They served these types of bread with a garlic butter, good start to a wonderful meal. For an appetizer, the family style antipasto salad was ordered ($15 per person for 4-5 guests). This was served in a bowl to everybody by the staff. It was a nice size portion for each guest. It consisted of a traditional antipasto salad (Italian meats, cheeses, olives, greens). It was all very tasty and fresh. I had the Italian combo plate ($35) for my entree. It consisted of beef and cheese ravioli, a stuffed shell, a piece of manicotti, a portion of lasagna, rigatoni with a Bolognese sauce, chicken parmesan, a meatball, and sausage. It was an absolute monster of a dish. I asked the waiter how much it weighed, but he was unaware. He did tell me he never saw somebody finish the dish before, but alas, I was the first he saw finish it!! I am usually not one to get the traditional Italian choices at a restaurant, but I was tempted to try this plate that offered all. The pastas were much better than the meat here. The Bolognese was probably the best meat aspect of the dish. The red gravy was light and appetizing. For dessert, I tried the limoncello cake ($8) as well as the toasted almond cream cake ($8). I preferred the limoncello one by far here. It was light and refreshing with ton of lemon flavor, one of my favorite cakes I had in recent memory. The toasted almond cake consisted of lady fingers in amaretto with layers of soft mascarpone cream topped with crushed almonds and powdered sugar. This was alright, something seemed off. It felt like some ingredient threw me off here. Will I go back? Yes.

Does it have a full bar?

Yes we ordered drinks, I always however opt for the Italian beer.

Why would this restaurant close at 8?

Because people eat dinner early in Venice Florida.

We were seated right by the pier with a stunning view, which set the tone for a perfect evening. We started with piña coladas, and they were a solid 5/5--perfectly balanced with just the right amount of rum and not overly sweet. Our waiter recommended the shrimp rangoons, and wow... easily some of the best shrimp I've ever had. They were incredibly fresh and savory, and the combination of the sauce with the cream cheese was unique and delicious. For dinner, we ordered the Marker 10 tacos and the fresh catch of the day, which was grouper. The tacos were made with mahi mahi, which I asked to have blackened, and they were packed with flavor. I chose onion rings as my side. While for the price I do think an extra taco would've been nice, the freshness and quality of the fish definitely made up for it. The sauce on the tacos was spectacular--seriously so good. The grouper was the true star of the night. It was unbelievably fresh, full of flavor, and literally melted in your mouth. The coconut rice was rich and flavorful, and the vegetables were perfectly savory. We ordered a LandShark but received a Corona instead, but honestly, no complaints--we still enjoyed the beer! To finish, we shared the key lime pie. It was good and added the perfect touch of sweetness to end the meal, though it was a bit average compared to everything else.

June 2, 2026 - Two for Dinner, our 36th wedding anniversary. (we had last been here a year ago for…read morethe same occasion.) First up - PARKING was awesome!!! we parked in their lot and had plenty of choices. yay. Second - When I had made a reservation for our special occasion I was asked "Inside or Outside" which I picked Inside. I was then ASKED "window table?" to which I happily confirmed yes that would be great. I then confirmed to my wife. 6PM, Inside, & Window seating. When I arrived I was quizzed if I had a reservation. Yes. Then I was asked did i want to dine Inside or Outside and I replied I had confirmed an Inside, window reservation. And he brought us to our inside aisle non-window table. When I asked why not a window as I confirmed - I was informed they only give them out when they are available and he can't guarantee it? I then asked "Why do you ask then when the reservation is made?" He just walked away. Probably not a good candidate for a public or customer facing role. As others have stated (and I in my first review) the staff and server experience here is highly variable. 1/10 Third - Our server was excellent and gregarious. we were seated well over 5 minutes until we able to tender a drink order, but then everything went very smoothly. The bus staff seems "nervous" and inexperienced, I had to ask twice for more water. The bread and butter was a little disappointing. one of the rolls was ok, the other either old, stale or did not sustain the heating process very well - inedible. There were two flatbread crackers in the basket as well. 3/10 Fourth - We both got a cup of seafood bisque soup. This was a smooth and flavorful soup. Chunks of seafood of various types and a little shot of sherry on the side to pour on. (my 10 year AA medal pushed it away - smile) 9/10 My wife ordered a Pompano special with scallops and the chef special vegetables and green beans. This was very substantive entree and she did bring half of it home. The fish was nicely prepared and properly cooked, the vegetables were cooked al dente and not just something on the plate - good job. The green beans so nice as a vegetarian / vegan plant based eater I am going to order them as my entree! 9/10 I ordered a shrimp cocktail as part of my main. I haven't had shrimp in a few years, and these were fairly decent. the cocktail sauce was disappointing as I am a Kelchner's horseradish and Heinz Chili Sauce kind of guy.... pink from the 50/50 mixture. The sauce here was a restaurant pack can of catsup and a splash of tabasco. yech. 5/10 Also as my main an Arugula Salad with Roasted Beets, NO goat cheese, Almonds, Honey-Citrus Vinaigrette, Raspberry Coulis. A VERY nice salad with an extremely fresh and beautiful collection of arugula lettuce, and the roasted yellow and purple beets were nicely cooked and prepared. The dressing was light and tasty and not some gloppy oil slick of goo. 10/10 Finally, our server brought us out a little keylime pie to commemorate our occasion, we were actually pretty full from the dinner and declined dessert but she brought this out and we took a few pictures!!! VERY nice touch!!! Thank you. I think the kitchen has improved over the last three reviews and last three or so years. The reservation and front desk and the service is variable and inconsistent, still. The communications and reservation situation is flawed - a reservation is between two parties - if we agree on something the expectation is we BOTH deliver (I arrive on time and pay, and the establishment seats and accommodates as per the expectation) Both should expect what was agreed to? Obviously this is all personnel and seasonally dependent here in Venice, FL, now that we enter the slow and less tourist oriented I think the employees and the patrons will be less wired and unpredictable. My wife and I have discussed a mid summer visit to the Crow's Nest - maybe for my birthday in August?
