My friend and I finally had the time to visit Lucatino for dinner this past week. They have a waitlist option, in lieu of reservations, and we joined about 5 mins prior to walking in the door. The waitlist indicated 0 min wait, but 5 parties ahead of us. We were greeted upon entry, checked in on the wait list, and told it would be a few minutes. We waited about 15 mins for our table. The restaurant is small, loud, and pretty crowded. They have the tables spaced pretty closely together to maximize the amounts of diners they can accommodate. This makes it difficult to get in and out of booth seating. Our waitress was friendly, but clearly strapped for time. We saw her infrequently over the course of our meal. The food and drinks came out quickly, though, and were delicious. The pizza had a much thinner crust than either of us had ever imaged. It was tasty? though, and super light. Even though we ate a full bread flight and the pizza, we didn't feel stuffed. We thought about ordering dessert from their non-permanent rotating menu, but we waited over 15-20 mins for the server to come back and at that point we were ready to go. It's a cute place, maybe for a girl dinner, but it's so loud that you're yelling to have a conversation. The service was pleasant, but not fast. Parking is along the street out front or across the street in a paid lot.

This new Italian restaurant just opened in Carnegie, and is located next to Slice on Broadway and the Wine and Spirits Shop. I believe this was formerly a bar called Nazcar's, and the space has been totally refurbished into a nice little Italian restaurant and bar. I stopped in for lunch today, and ordered the Fried Zucchini Appetizer, and a Margherita Pizza. The zucchini was a nice portion, breaded and fried, served with a lemon wedge, and a side of red sauce. The pizza was eight slices, and was Romano style which has a very thin, cracker-like crust. I enjoyed the zucchini and the pizza, both were good. I would like to come back again and try some of the other menu items . . . Cheers!

Delicious focaccia bread with lots of dip options, personally I enjoy just the plain bread the most but the whipped ricotta was really good with it too. The house chopped salad was good and the dressing was tasty. I got the vodka rigatoni with chicken but the chicken was just piled on top, would've been nice if it was mixed in the sauce. The carafe of wine was a good deal too

I would go back and order those muscles everyday. The meatball sub checked all the boxes of a delicious lunch, and that tiramisu was phenomenal. We were greeted and sat immediately when entering and it gave a cozy:warm vibe. Everyone was laughing and enjoying their food and it felt like its own little community. Check out the wall art and see if you can spot all of the wolves!

The service was absolutely amazing. The food was delicious and definitely hit the spot.

A group of six of us went for dinner. Very small inside, a little noisy. We all enjoyed our food however and the service was wonderful. It did get a little stuffy inside, even though they have the door propped open. I hope that they have air-conditioning for the summertime. It was only 78 yesterday and it got very warm in there.

There were a lot of good drink options so I'd imagine there's something for everyone My family had the onion and mushroom soup and loved it as well. We tried to make a reservation but nothing was available. My friend insisted on putting our name on a standby list and the restaurant was extremely excited to call us with a cancellation, which they said rarely happens. I was excited to introduce my friends to this spot! Our party was not the easiest as we have a few dietary restrictions, like one GF person and one vegetarian. We wanted a few of the starters and noticed that getting the antipasto might be the most cost-efficient way. My friend asked if we might have all the meat on one plate and the veggies on another to be considerate of the vegetarian (me) and they nicely accommodated that request. The GF friend was excited to order a Dubai chocolate martini as she thought she would be getting these flavors without the dough she can't have, but it came around the rim and sprinkled in the drink and she had to send it back, which they also quickly accommodated. They also had several mocktails on the menu, really nice options made with NA spirits. I ordered one of these. I usually get the gnocchi here but on this visit they had a pasta special with corn that was like a taste of just-ended summer and I went with that. It was delicious and my friends enjoyed their meals as well. There is a dessert bar next door but service on this night was taking an extremely long time so we didn't get into any desserts. Service on this particular visit was not quite what I've been used to on previous visits overall, and one of my friends mentioned it afterward to the GM who was very accountable and responsive. He had also stopped by to personally check on us during our meal, and it's nice to get a sense that a place genuinely cares about your customer experience. I will continue to come back.

Honestly they probably would have preferred Stove Top though. Green beans - very tasty but not great as a leftover Cranberry chutney - ok, I love the canned stuff but this was truly a hit. Rolls and butter - literally such delicious butter! Apple pies - they were more like empanadas. I was expecting mini round pies. The crust was amazing but the apples were a bit tart. The pickup was easy and seamless. Everything was packed well. Thank you! We can't wait to come in to eat soon.

His son took me to my table. The waitress was attentive and very friendly. I ordered the honey pecan crusted salmon and opted for carrots and broccoli as my side. The waitress brought bread and a garlic/oil dish to dip the bread in. The garlic/oil was so yummy, I could've just ate the bread without any dinner! I was also surprised to see I got a large portion of food when the plate came out! Most places these days you don't get much bang for your buck. The salmon was delicious, and so were the carrots and broccoli. My soda was flat and I asked the waitress about it and she fixed it. I ordered the flourless chocolate torte for dessert and liked that too. I wonder what the ingredients were, because there was a bit of spice to it that I couldn't quite place my finger on. The only improvements I think could be made are the ambience was loud. There was a large party in the dining room next to me and they were a loud family with children running and screaming all over the place (I understand this isn't within the realm of control for the restaurant). That itself wasn't unpleasant, it would just be nice if there was some strategic sound dampening. On their website I had signed up for a $10 coupon that never came in my email (not sure if I'm supposed to wait days for it...?). Another thing I noticed on their website is that they charge $10 for a split plate. I'm assuming this means if you come as two people and decide to order one plate of food but split it, they charge for that. That seems really weird. People shouldn't be charged for splitting their food, if that's what that is. They also charge you a transaction fee for using a credit card. Next time I'm in Pittsburgh I'll be coming back. It was nice to eat something that wasn't a burger and fries, since there are so many of those types of places in Pittsburgh.

Also can we talk about the fact every single dish came out literally steaming hot? Kudos to the chef for trying something different with these specialty vegan dishes! The restaurant is tucked away in Foster Plaza among office buildings and I would have never expected to find it there. They have good signage as you wind up the plaza so you know you're on the right track. The restaurant itself is very attractive, Clean, upscale look with white fairy lights. This is a white tablecloth place and would be appropriate for a special occasion as well as a nice any occasion meal. I ordered the full vegan restaurant week special which included a vegan meatball appetizer, pappardelle Bolognese made with red lentils and their freshly made pasta, and dessert which was two black bean brownies with frosting. The marinara on the meatballs was delicious and I would order the marinara here on anything. The meatballs were the size of tennis balls or larger. Great texture and I was only able to eat one if I wanted to eat the rest of my meal. The pasta dish was enormous and I could only eat half of that as well. I was really impressed with the texture and flavors of the lentil Bolognese. They also brought a cup of vegan vegetable soup which wasn't mentioned on the vegan week menu but was absolutely delicious. The brownies probably surprised me most. I couldn't believe these were made from black beans. I took home one of the two and with everything else I had packed up, had an entire repeat of the meal the next day. Very big portions especially if you get a Pasta. My mom ordered cheese ravioli with regular Bolognese sauce and the ravioli was delicious, although not enough for a full second meal like the regular pastas. I also want to mention that they had a couple of mocktails on their menu and I appreciated them being inclusive. I ordered a mocktail mule with ginger beer and raspberry purée which exceeded my expectations. The raspberry purée was really good. You will pay $30-$35 or so for a nice meal here, more if you start getting into some of the meat entrees. I thought that was a fair price for the quality. I will definitely be back.

It was so noticeable that it made me wonder if the dough was bad or if they for some weird reason put fish sauce in it. It was gross. We also ordered steak and Italian hoagies. The veggies were old and wilted, and there was no dressing on either. The Italian had deli meat that was clearly bottom of the line and not very generous.
