I decided to give Anita B Spa a try because 2 of my friends rave about them and have been going there for skin care for a long time. I did not know what to expect. When I arrived, I was greeted by Anita Chan, who owns the business. She was very friendly and supportive. There was a procedure that hurt so much but felt so good and left my pores cleared. I cried a little. When the session was done, my face felt refreshed. The ambience was relaxing and the prices were fair. I decided to keep going. Btw both Redwood City and San Francisco locations were great and finding parking wasn't too difficult. I can't wait to see what Anita has in store for her Redwood City location. After 6 months of visiting Anita B Spa and Anita B Well, my coworkers tell me I am as ugly as ever, but my skin looks great. They commented how it looks moisturized and glowing. My neighbor asked my younger sister if I was her younger brother. I am glad I set aside my misgivings and visited Anita B Spa. While they can't perform miracles, one thing is for sure, they can make one's skin healthy and glowing. I got "nanobrows" with Anita two years ago. The lines were huge (like a sharpie) and the brows were…read moreway too close together. When I went in for my touch up, even she seemed surprised at how dark and large the strokes still were. She said I shouldn't worry, they'd fade in two-ish years. I spent two years feeling so embarrassed and covering up the inner corners with foundation. I recently sought out saline removal and my technician was appalled at Anita's work: she couldn't believe how large the strokes were, how dark and unnecessarily DEEP the ink was placed, and how close together she made my brows for no reason. The saline removal also proved she used concentrated dark ink only on my inner brows, as the pigment pulled super heavy there (but no where else) which my removal tech said is bizarre. My removal tech even said "it seems like she was trying to make you look bad". I don't think that was Anita's intention, but I do think she should stop providing this service. It was unethical to tell me these would be temporary, that they would fade, and that the strokes would be whisper-thin. I currently have saline scars on my face and I look like a crazy person as I go through this humiliating removal process. Anita never once called out or acknowledged the poor work, just happily took my money even though I could tell she knew she did a bad job when I went in for touch up. I also had a spray tan at this salon a few years prior and the technician was super rude. I tried to give this spot so many chances, but the psychological distress of getting a botched permanent tattoo on my face that she claimed would fade in two years is a 0/5 star experience.

I've been seeing Valeriya for regular facials for over a year now, and I almost don't want to write…read morethis review because she's just so good at what she does I kind of want to gatekeep her! I started seeing her a year before my wedding with the goal of improving my overall skin texture, tone, and health. Besides being a master of her craft, Valeriya is just the sweetest, kindest, most patient person. She really takes the time to get to know you and your skin. Of course you have to go semi-consistently for this to really be possible, but consistency is key with anything skin-related, and patience too. The first time I saw her I did a Hydrafacial, but she recommended we switch to DMK and that's what we've been doing almost every session since (with a few chemical peels sprinkled in). Every time I see her she switches things up as needed based on what my skin needs that day. That's what I love about her--it's never one-size-fits-all with her treatments--she understands my skin and can predict what it needs and how it will react. She's also incredibly generous with her time and will respond to texts whenever I have had questions outside of our sessions--she truly cares about her clients and their outcomes. I've also done Aerolase laser treatments a couple of times to target stubborn cystic pimples and have had great results. Of course Valeriya doesn't do the laser herself, but her nurse Pearl is such a sweetheart as well and I love that her and Valeriya work together as a team to make sure their clients are getting the right combination of treatments to address their specific skin concerns. Valeriya is never pushy with products, but I have purchased and used many of the products she has recommended to me since I started working with her. Although not every single product has become a consistent staple in my skincare routine, the ones that have are products I am truly obsessed with and feel have made a massive difference in my skin since using them consistently. My skin was absolutely glowing on my wedding day and I give 90% of the credit for that to Valeriya, and only 10% to myself for being consistent with my skincare routine (that Valeriya created for me).
