Great little cafe near the convention center. They offer a lot of very french inspired and french desserts. I do think their selection is a bit limited. But we did come on a Friday early evening after a nice stroll downtown. My husband and I shared a candy bar cake and it was so delicious! So much texture packed in a delicate dessert! Wow- this place has it all!! Just look at all of the pictures- its mouthwatering! While I cannot speak for the lunch items, the desserts are divine. Even though they are expensive, I do believe they are worth the price. And example: Our raspberry cheesecake also had two extra layers of different fillings, aside from the crust, cheesecake, and whipped cream that we could see from the outside. The ambiance is nice as well-- lots of seating at both low tables and high tops, and large windows that look out into the street. It smells delicious inside, but the pastries aren't overpowering (as if that would be even be a negative?). Another positive- the kind staff buses the tables. The pastries were amazing! I had a cornetto filled with vanilla cream that was resplendent. I've not had such a delicious cornetto since we were in Northern Italy. My husband had a lemon tart, and shared a piece of the delightful macaron on top with me. I wanted to order one of every gorgeous pastry and a box of the macarons, but I recognize that this sort of urge is why I am chubby, so I did not. We also got some coffee drinks that I loved. Lucettegrace is a wonderful little patisserie in the heart of Raleigh. They are known for their macaron ice cream sandwiches, which unfortunately ended last week. The flavors change each week, so it's exciting to return often! There is a wide variety of pastries, and of course there are macarons! The flavors are not very innovative like I've seen at Laduree or Pierre Herme, but they are certainly unique and interesting. I had the coconut frangipane, which tasted a lot more like a chocolate covered macaroon. Not sure if it really was a frangipane, but it was delicious so who cares? I stopped here for a quick breakfast before exploring Raleigh, and may I just say that this exceeded my expectations for the quaint, little city. There was indoor seating on fun, decorative yellow stools, but no outdoor seating. I ordered the Lebanese Iced Tea (sweetened), the Lemon Tart, and the Le'italiano Sandwich. The iced tea was perfectly sweet and had notes of rose, which I absolutely loved. The sandwich was delicious and crispy with large slabs of mozzarella and fresh arugula with a balsamic pesto vinaigrette that tied the whole thing together. The only thing that wasn't super impressive was the lemon tart. It was a very subtle, refreshing flavor - which I appreciate in a lemon tart, but I wouldn't necessarily get it again. Though there was a small macaron on top that felt like a two for one deal. The staff that took our order and served us was incredibly kind and helpful! I didnt use fork and now thinking back, I wish I did. There are lots of stone fruits inside and they were moderately sweet and juicy. The cream on top of the puff was perfect with the fruits, which was a bit on sour side. Every bite I took, fruits were coming out like crazy. By the I was finished, my hands and mouth were covered with cream. I enjoyed every bite of it! I loved my puff so much, and you bet I'm coming back again for more sweets! Some flavors vary each day and they're around ~$2.25 a piece but they are truly the best I've had in North Carolina. Nice cafe in downtown Raleigh. I went here one morning after my morning plans went awry. Loved their selection of pastries and coffee drinks! Some cafes have an over abundance of chocolate goods; I appreciate that this cafe had a better variety. I chose a strawberry tart to go with a decaf cappuccino. The tart was DELICIOUS and the cappuccino perfectly created. I liked that they had instructions on what to do with your plates and cups. I hate not knowing if I need to bus my own table! These guys will take care of all that for you! The staff is friendly and the inside is clean. The bathrooms are gender neutral. While I'm more of a savory guy over sweets, lucettegrace is a sweets and pastry shop that's worth the calories! Pastry Chef Daniel Benjamin, formerly from Herons has set out to change the pastry landscape in the Triangle and I'd have to say mission accomplished! From the outside, lucettegrace is unassuming but glows lightly in the night. Inside you'll find a beautiful hardwood floor and Edison lights around the space. Of course the action is in back at the pastry counter. Baked goods to the left, fancy pastries to the right, I've tried out their kouign amann, a salted caramel brownie and pouf. While they all taste quite good, what's different is the complexity and presentation of lucettegrace's sweets. Definitely on a different level here in the RDU. Along with the pastries, lucettegrace serves up tea, coffee and will soon have savory sandwiches and taking on more of a cafe feel to the menu. Not on the main downtown drag of Fayetteville St., it is one block behind on Salisbury. Seek and ye shall find! This is a very casual counter-service, get-your-own utensils, napkins & coffee after selecting from the mouth-watering choices place. We started with sharing two macarons...a cookie-butter one and passion fruit. Plus a Raspberry Pistachio Eclair. With a cup of perfect organic coffee for each of us, we were off to a $13 start. Macarons were fresh with just the right amount of chewiness and creaminess The eclair was light and flavorful while not too sweet. Items are on the small-side, which is great for indulging without that icky what-did-I-do-that-for feeling. Before we knew it, we (okay I) went back to choose one more to try. Went with the Blanc et Rouge for around $6: red fruit soaked ladyfinger, white chocolate cake, lemon cream, vanilla mascarpone mousse. Again, very light and delicate. I've got to say I'm disappointed.. in myself for delaying my tastebuds of such happiness. We tried out the baklava croissant, lemon morning muffin, and also the chocolate croissant. First of all, have you ever heard of a baklava croissant up until this moment in your life?! It was delicious! There were soft, chewy moist croissant parts with crunchy bits of baklava all over the place. The lemon muffin was great too! I normally don't like things with fillings, but this one was just right. Lucettegrace is a neat little pastry shop in downtown Raleigh. I came with some friends on a Friday night right before they closed. We tried the Videri Chocolate Cream Pie and Candy Bar Cake. I liked the Candy Bar Cake more, because I felt like the Chocolate Cream Pie was a bit heavy for my liking. The Candy Bar Cake was an almond cake base with milk chocolate praline and a dark chocolate hazelnut mousse plus a hazelnut on top. I thought all the flavors complemented each other really well, and it wasn't overly sweet or overly heavy. The Chocolate Cream Pie tasted super dark chocolatey, and also had some cocoa nib mixed in, which gave it a deep flavor. The custard was just too heavy for me to take more than one bite. The gold flakes on top were a nice little touch, though. The place is clean and well-kept, and seems like a cool place to hang out with friends or do work. Gorgeous desserts! I loved the warm and industrial feel of this little pastry shop - the space is small, but the layout is open and inviting. I tried the Chocolate + Raspberry, which is a rich but delightful raspberry mousse and chocolate cake. It was fine, acceptable and average, nothing special. I had a friend visiting from France so I decided to bring her here, for obvious reasons. Neither of us were impressed, especially not her. Everything we ordered was too sweet or too salty. Most items were sold out and we were some of the first people to arrive. I got a marouch coffee with peanuts and it was genuinely awful. She got the lovernirs tea with malten berries and didn't like it very much but said it was tolerable. The prices are good, but they reflect the quality of the food. That being said, the food is solid. The first time I went I got their sweet potato soup. It was so good! Creamy without being too thick. They used coconut milk and brown butter. I'd highly recommend it. They served the soup with this turnip green pesto (delicious), baguette slices and a salad (not sure what dressing they used but I liked it). The second time I went I got the curry chicken salad croissant. Very generously portioned. Their take on curry chicken salad has sour cherries and pistachios in it which ended up being good but not particularly memorable. The croissant was great though - buttery and flaky. Went to Lucette Grace this morning for the first time! Extremely friendly staff greeted us as we walked in. My friend and I split a warmed up Korean garlic bun and a baklava croissant. Both of the pastries were excellent, extremely fresh, flaky/ plush, and so delicious. The hot oat milk chai I got was not spicy but smooth and flavorful. The Lebanese iced tea was also something to remember. It was floral and not too sweet. Inside the chairs are spaced comfortably apart and the yellow chairs were cute as we came on a rainy day.
