If you can't actually open at 9am, change your hours. I'd say I've shown up at 8:45am at least half a dozen times over the last year and each time they haven't opened until 9:10-30. When I called to mention the issue, the owner acted very rude about the situation and when he finally came to open the store, he was the opposite of apologetic, acting as if I was in the wrong for expecting the store to open when listed. This is such a great spot in the heart of Shadyside. I was lucky enough to have the owner helping me out with recommendations and preparing my order. There's so much to choose from, from a wide variety of juices to smoothies, smoothie bowls and health shots. I wanted to try some of everything. I got two bowls, the açai bowl with Nutella and peanut butter, which was my runaway favorite, and the pumpkin bowl with granola, which is seasonal and also delicious. I asked if the pumpkin bowl would keep at home and he advised me to freeze it and start thawing shortly before I wanted to eat it, using a little aluminum foil around the bottom of the bowl. I took that advice which worked perfectly. I also got a blue magik smoothie, featuring blue spirulina which is a favorite of mine; that flavor is balanced with tropical ones like mango, banana and coconut topping. It's delicious and has so many health benefits. I also grabbed two juices for later, one green and one beet. My favorite thing about the juices, which were extremely fresh, flavorful and clearly high-quality, was how the labels allowed for each ingredient to be clearly checked off, leaving no doubt about exactly what you're putting in your body. This is just that kind of place, whose clear existence is based on wanting people to be healthier and feel good. Bonus points for the great collection of uplifting, colorful Baron Batch artwork that fills the place. It makes for a welcoming interior if you decide to stick around to eat and drink, but I suggest taking a seat on the bench outside the entrance and taking in the vibrant neighborhood. read more

A friend and I stopped by around 11:30am on a Saturday. There was only a couple in line ahead of us when we got there but quickly there was a long line behind us! We tried two of their smoothies, two of their smoothie bowls, and two of their iced lattes. They have a cute and small seating area in the back with fun colorful art with two small high top tables and a couch. Let me start by saying I had the ONLY smoothie I have ever liked in my entire life! The service was awesome! The guy was very patient with us and trying to figure out what we wanted! Everything we had was delicious! I got the Blue Majik Smoothie and YUM! honestly I would try to convince anyone to get it! we had the peanut butter and Nutella bowl, and the tropical fruit bowl! Both yummy! The açaí base is so smooth and creamy! We also go some health shots! Specifically the citrus ginger and the dragons breath! I was happily surprised to see @lucid_juice412 tucked just above one of my favorite local Italian spots on Copeland Street in the charming neighborhood of Shadyside! My daughter and I walked in and immediately started collecting all the items we wanted to order in our heads. I love Lucid Juice - I've been to a good amount of juice bars and I was so impressed with their menu. I stopped in and got a bunch of shots for myself and my husband and was thrilled with them. I had to stop back to try a smoothie and acai bowl bc everything sounded so good from their menu. The owners are super nice and are really passionate about what they do. The acai bowls are amazing. They do seasonal bowls and menu items too. I was in the area and really wanted to get a açaí bowl again. Lucid Juice used to be Salud which I had gone to several times and loved. It took me about 15 minutes to find a parking spot . The parking is absolutely terrible there and almost impossible to find a spot. This is reason enough for not going here. I was in the area and also wanted to go to Starbucks which is directly across the street. When I was going there I did not realize it had changed name and ownership and a complete make over. The staff where friendly and helpful. I personally liked the old place better. I got a tropical bowl which was tasty but was already very much melting. The staff and product are good but unfortunately not enough to make up for the parking issue. As there are many other açaí bowl places I would not recommend this place unless you had to be in the area anyway. I will not be going again unless I had to be in the area. read more

The classic bowl menu was relatively small, but you have the option to create your own! Prices were a bit expensive at around $13 a bowl, but they were yummy! The menu was very clean and healthy, the bowls we ordered were very good. The interior design was fun and colorful, though the blender obviously made for some loud background noise. This location on Walnut street is great with plenty of bench seating in the area if you plan to take it outside! I would argue it's a splurge, but still a solid choice for an acai bowl in the Pittsburgh area. read more

Many of the smoothie and juice combinations are classic blends of fruits, veggies and flavors. The menu does have a steep price tag for a more "healthy and nutritious" snack. I believe I paid over $8 for my 16oz smoothie. I ordered the Blue Majik Smoothie, which was a blend of mango, pineapple, almond milk and blue spirulina! According to the internet, blue spirulina is an algae and superfood that has antioxidant properties. I think it just adds a fun blue color to my tropical smoothie haha. The store space is small and could be more inviting. I rolled up close to store closing hours, so the staff was not particularly welcoming or talkative. Lucid is a similar type of store - selling juices, smoothies, and bowls - but it's completely rebranded and the menu offerings are slightly different. Call me biased but I miss Salud. The workers at Salud were just so friendly and excited to be there, whereas with Lucid it felt less "welcoming". I got an acai bowl and a smoothie - they were both okay, but nothing great or memorable. Just ordinary items - at a steep price, especially for Pittsburgh.
