Our friends and I were sitting outside and casually drinking our drinks. Everything was fine and everyone was on their best behavior. Once 2 AM hit and it was time to leave and one of the employees was very aggressive. He went up to multiple different women and was extremely out of line and was violently grabbing their wrists, pouring their drinks out and screaming to get the f*** out. It was 2:06 AM at this point and everyone was on their way out. We took a video for evidence proof. We hope that management reads this and does something to fix this IMMEDIATELY. read more

Lucille is my favorite place to start my Sunday fundays on Rainey street. They have amazing bloody Mary's that provide just enough kick to get me over that Saturday-induced hangover and help me begin a new buzz. There are several activities to keep you busy such as checkers, cornhole, and sitting on hammocks (if you consider that an activity). The bar has a decent amount of shade and a few misters to help with the Texas heat. Interestingly, there are always several well-behaved dogs at this particular bar and the owners are eager to let you pet them. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a unique Austin experience, a place to drink, or just some furry love!! read more

The music was all from different eras and excellent songs. The staff was friendly. I would fly back to just see what this place looks like around Christmas! Why is every new bar on Rainey St my new favorite bar?? My "favorites" are a chronicle of the growth of that area....first it was Lustre Pearl, then it was Icenhauers, then Blackheart, then Javelina, and now Lucille. You picked a fine time to leave me Lucille.....was the tune in my head when seeing the somewhat rough and antiquish outside, but I was so pleasantly surprised by the modern and spacious interior. Having just left the crowded and understaffed Javelina, it was a breath of fresh air, literally, to find a spot that wasn't so jam packed. And then to find out they had HH on Sunday??? Why, yes, I would love three of them there cucumber martinis with the chili powder rims for $5 each! And don't mind if I DO lay up in your hammock for a spell. Yup, hammocks and sunshine and a little Bob Marley and dogs and stiff drinks and friendly bartenders that knew my drink and bar tab on the second round despite the crowds and a food trailer court right across the street.....all ingredients for my new favorite bar. I'm an out-of-towner (Houston native) and I love the nightlife in my own city. I didn't go to ATX "looking to party" but I decided to stop by Rainey St. (instead of 6th) for a drink on the night of my birthday. Our drinks: some sort of specialty house tea w/Deep Eddy's sweet tea vodka and tea. This was a good drink for those that pretty something mildy sweet. To add, it was only $6 during happy hour. The bar staff was nice. A really nice bartender bought me a drink since it was my birthday. They have free, self-service lemon water w/cups on the bar. The inside was a bit dead at 10 PM on Sunday night. No one was sitting here. There were a lot of people sitting in the outdoor playground and the vibe was nice. The only reason I decided to leave after an hour was because the music wouldn't let me live. During my short stay, I heard Taylor Swift, NSYNC, Ed Sheeran, Run DMC, and more pop artists from 2001. If you're a hip-hop/rap person, don't come here to get your drink on, go directly across the street. 4 stars for the nice waiter, ambiance, and cheap happy hour on Sunday night. read more

Came to Austin for my best friends bachelorette party! We obviously had to visit Rainey (way better than 6th) for a Saturday night. The street was flooded when we stumbled across Lucille! It was packed but there was still plenty of room for all 14 of us girls to be together. The bar was packed but it didn't take long at all to get a drink (Thank you Jessie!). She juggled our huge order with grace, class, and patience! She even took the time to recommend to us out-of-towners some awesome shots! We had so much fun our last night in town and decided when we come back, it'll be to visit our new friend Jessie :) ! Haha. I only wish they played more up to date music. Dj Koma is ridiculous!! He literally told me and my group we were ruining his vibe by being too loud!!! You're on rainy and me and two other people are ruining your vibe? I do guest services for a hotel I know to never treat any guest that way! As long as this rude ass DJ is there I will never go back! Kind of sucks because I love supporting local places! Honestly though this DJ ruins the entire rainy vibe! I hope they realize the terrible DJ that is there on Saturday's! I fell a little bit in love with Austin the moment we walked into this bar. The open house layouts with back patios strung with lights that Rainey had going on was really my kind of place. I'm a sucker for dark, open spaces...especially when Christmas lights or candles were also in effect. Lucille, though, had one thing that made it stand out above all the rest. Freakin HAMMOCKS. Why hasn't anyone thought of this before?? Hammocks are awesome to have around when you're drinking! I didn't care that it was raining - we jumped on and I swayed with my drink in hand, just looking up at the sky and feeling the rain on my face. Happy place. I can't give it five stars because I wasn't especially excited about the drink menu. In fact, I can't even remember what I had. Which means something because I always remember what I put in my mouth. We were strolling on Rainy street on a cold evening and looked at a board that said 'mulled wine'. Out of curiosity, we went inside and inquired about the mulled wine and also looked at other cocktails. The mulled wine sounded interesting and it didn't let us down. While visiting Austin for a long weekend, a couple people had mentioned Rainey Street to us so we wandered over. The first place we visited was Lucille and I have to say it's just a gorgeous space. The backyard makes you feel like you're at a friend's backyard BBQ w games, hammocks, and lots of cozy places to sit and gather. They also have fans/misters which are great on those super hot days. Not sure if they have a DJ everyday but when we were there (Sunday late afternoon) they did and it really added a nice touch. I also liked that it wasn't blasted at you so you could still talk to your friends while enjoying the music. The drinks were also really delish -- we especially loved the watermelon mojito and fresh strawberry mojito. No food but food trucks right next door. Staff was friendly too! This was just an all around great place to relax and enjoy a drink w friends. :) read more

I've been here numerous times, usually on a Friday or over the weekend. my friends and I were in the area and we walked in right after that had opened at 3. it was not crowded, even with the UT game just ending there were just a few small groups there. this bar has tvs but I think I've only seen them on once or twice over all the times I have been here. I do love their back patio. it is spacious with lots of seating, animal friendly AND there's a full bar in the back if you don't want to go back inside for your drinks. I think i like the ambience better when it isn't super packed here, my group was able to sit and chat and enjoy ourselves without feeling like we had to guard our chairs. A side note- the back bar needs new tile. the bar counter had a lot of missing pieces and needs a repair. i know i would be afraid of cutting myself if i were back there. It looks kind of bad and can be a hazard to a new or clumsy bartender.. oh, and my husband found something floating in his drink. I do really like this place, but not entirely. my favorite drink, the El Hefe, is a spicy take on a Margarita with cucumbers and jalapeños, chili salt on the rim. delicious and goes down so easily it's dangerous! read more

The reason for the lower rating is due to the quality of the drinks. I have been to Lucille multiple times in the last 5 months, and when I order the same drink at different visits I don't think they have ever made it the same way twice. The quality is off, its like drinking straight vodka a lot of the time. I ordered a jalapeno margarita a couple months ago that was inedible because it was so spicy, while my friend ordered one a couple nights ago that didn't taste spicy at all. Watching the bartenders, they don't tend to measure anything which seems to be the root of the problem. The drinks are way overpriced for this inconsistency. The atmosphere is great, although seating is limited. They have an amazing patio that is relaxing with a food truck, but its hard to sit there drinking something that doesn't taste good even if the patio is a great spot. Service was great, the bartenders are friendly and attentive. It doesn't take long to order a drink, and they seem like chill people. Overall, I'd go back if I have friends who happen to be there but it isn't my first choice for drinks on Rainey St. read more

Lucille is such a cute little place to hangout and have some drinks in Austin! Our group started the night here over the weekend, and I'm super glad we went around exploring. Lucille is located on a big street that has many bars and lounges to hop around at. It looks like a cute house on the outside. The interior is pretty cool with a lot of seating areas all around. What I like the MOST about Lucille is that they have a back outdoor seating area, and both the inside and outside have a bar that you can order drinks from. There wasn't too much of a huge line for drinks as well which was awesome. There are cute little light lines hanging and there were plenty of outdoor seating areas too. All of the workers were super nice and professional. They made sure that they got everyone's drinks in order and that everyone was having a great time. I unfortunately didn't order any of their specialty drinks but I will definitely try next time I come back! Overall, a great first time experience here at Lucille! read more

The bartender was very friendly and helpful and made a great margarita. I loved the indoor outdoor open concept feel.
