I know this is going to upset those who love this place. But, I have a duty to be honest. This restaurant sits on a beautiful piece of property with ample parking. Been around since 1991 and it appears to have had no updates since that time. There is a funky old smell upon entering. The tables are all spread out for antiquated covid mandates. In fact, the booths still have the plexiglass dividers. The booths are old and uncomfortable. It's an Italian restaurant and they charge for bread. The bread is nothing fancy. Just sliced thin bread with some salty herbs on the top crust. The Caesar salad was tasty. I appreciate the homemade croutons (but those were too salty for my liking). They were out of the beef tips (at 5:30 pm), so we had the pasta with sausage. It was just ok. Nothing great. The bean soup was just ok. At first, I tasted "metal tomatoes" and then I thought Olive Garden's soup is better. I pause - haven't been to Olive Garden in about 30 years. Anyway, there was nothing wrong. Just not what was expected for an established and locally loved venue. I truly hope the owners appreciate my opinions and work to recharge and refresh their restaurant. Wonderful restaurant honestly, it's a hidden gem. Delicious pasta! I had the Italian sausage as an appetizer. Very good! Highly recommend. I ordered one of their fish entrées, which was delicious. 10/10 Also got to try a shrimp pasta, which is also featured on their entrées! 9/10 Overall, i had a great experience incredible service, when I visited, there was very much an older crowd, but that just means that it's a solid place! I was charged for a bottle of wine, and the owner claimed he would "cover the difference," yet somehow my bank statement shows a completely different amount than what was actually posted in-house. We were charged $83 at the restaurant, but $132 ended up coming out of my account. How does that even make sense? At this point, it's not even about the money -- it's about the dishonesty and shady business practices. If your pricing changes after the transaction or random amounts are showing up on people's cards, that's a serious problem. The entire experience felt deceptive, unprofessional, and sketchy from start to finish. I would strongly recommend checking your bank statements carefully if you eat here. I have been dining at Campioni for more than ten years. I was looking for something to eat for dinner and Campioni popped up. I have never read reviews about the restaurant until tonight and found that they have 254 reviews averaging four stars. I read a majority of the reviews and found several low ratings that I thought were unfair to subjective. My wife ordered Iced Tea and I ordered San Pelagrino. My wife said that her Tea was fresh and good. I ordered fried mozzarella and garlic bread for appetizers. My wife ordered chicken manicotti which was exactly what it should be unlike what someone described in a negative review. I ordered Lasagna that was tasty and filling. The waitress was a long time employee who was polite, attentive and friendly. We were seated at a booth against floor to ceiling plate glass windows that lit the beautiful face of my lovely wife before sunset. One of the sad reviews compared Campioni to Carraba's. I like Carraba's but it is not reasonable to compare a single location with great ambiance like the indoor/outdoor windows in the dining room to a chain restaurant that could be at any of hundreds of locations. The Lasagna I had tonight was better than any I remember from Carraba's. Last thought is that Campioni has been serving since 1991. Thousands of customers have dined here and far less than one percent made the effort to give a bad rating. The restaurant is always busy. They are off the beaten path tucked away on Cutten Road, a mile from FM1960. I recommend Campioni for some Italian comfort food. read more

We were warmly greeted by the hostess the moment we opened the door. Our server, Kat S them approached our table immediately to welcome us and tell us about the special. We inquired about the calamari which she referred to "as the best in town." And it was! it was served with two sauces one of which was the most delicious Housemade red sauce I have ever had. We went to celebrate my wife's Birthday, and the staff was very busy , but our waiter explained the situation so we were patient . The house salad was great . The owner stopped by our table and asked if we enjoyed our dinner while making us feel welcome. The couple we dined with were regulars and we talked till we were the last ones in the restaurant. Dining at Campioni's is always a pleasure. It's not just the food (which is very good) but also the locale being set off of Cutten in a woodsy and secluded feeling location. It's definitely not your standard restaurant in a strip center with a parking lot in front. Here you feel like you are going to someone's nice home out in the country for a good meal. Upon entering inside the bar area is to the right with two dining rooms to the left along with separate banquet rooms available too. This restaurant has separate lunch and dinner menus and I have ordered from both. One day for lunch I had the shrimp and crab meat linguini for $14.50 that came with a side salad and bread. The salad was of quality greens pleasant to eat along with the good sourdough bread they serve here. The entree was larger than I expected and had plenty of seafood (shrimp and crab meat) in a delightfully tasting tomato and butter sauce over linguini. This meal was a 4.5. Another visit was to try a custom order medium size pizza with 3 toppings for $15 at lunch. I requested a thin crust and got it and then was very pleased with the amount of toppings each ingredient had on the pie. They go heavy here with the toppings and it made for an excellent tasting pizza (4.5). For dinner, I had a cup of pasta fagioli ($3.50) along with a plate of spaghetti and meat sauce for another $12.50. This meal was a 4 and very filling. The table service here is very attentive and professional. I like Campioni and consider it to be a quality Italian restaurant on the north side. Reservations are a good idea for dinner on Friday and Saturday. read more

Terrible customer service. Our waitress was an older woman with a voice that seemed artificially cheerful. When my boyfriend and I decided to cancel a dish, because it didn't come out at the same time (because they put bacon after having let the waitress know twice to leave the bacon out). Instead of simply canceling it, the waitress came back three separate times to ask us if we were sure we wanted to cancel it, which felt like she was pressuring us to say yes. After we firmly declined, she brought our check in the middle of our meal. We didn't mind too much since we were in a hurry, but the way it was handled felt unprofessional. On top of that, I had to ask for a lemonade refill four times--twice from the waitress, once from the manager/owner (who spoke with her about it), and again when she continued to ignore me while serving other tables. She finally brought it after I had to call her out again. The ambiance was nice, it was quiet and felt homey. The food itself was mediocre with a slight off taste to it. Because of our experience, and the food not being to our taste, we won't be coming back. read more

We found this restaurant by Accident driving through champions Forest Drive and we couldn't figure out what it was so we went back to go figure it out and it was really some good Italian food. It's a little loud but the food had great taste. The pizza was good. The calamari was good And the bread was really good. I've been coming here for years, when I lived in the Champion Forrest area, and now when I find myself on that side of town. It might not have the pizzazz or flair of some other Italian restaurants, but what it does have is tasty home style Italian American food and a friendly staff. I've never not enjoyed a meal here. This place is very popular with the older folks and other locals. They have quite the following, especially after taking over the space that used to be a bbq spot. One thing to keep in mind here, is that portions are on the large side and unpretentious side. Regular entrees are served with garlic bread, choice of salad, and a side of penne pasta, which I prefer to substitute out for spinach. The chicken dishes are super yummy here. I loved the sausage penne, but it's too rich for me these days. Having leftovers is rather common. They do offer an extensive wine list here to pair with your meal, and they have a decent amount of seating. On my most recent visit, they were celebrating their 30th anniversary and giving out free limoncello cake after your meal. And my, was it delicious! Of course, it had that homemade touch. read more

Revisited this fabulous neighborhood Italian gem. I always leave stuffed and happy. I enjoyed my favorite dish: Shrimp Pepato w/ angel hair pasta. I was in good company with my daughter and her boyfriend who enjoyed the Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken and Lasagna. We attended a wedding reception at Campioni and we very impressed with the service. We were greeted by the hostess as we entered the restaurant and we found the servers friendly and anxious to make our visit a pleasant experience. The atmosphere was busy with the other members of the party but the servers handled the reception professionally while making certain that everyone had a good time. My husband and I were looking for a new Italian place to try in the area and found Campioni and headed over to have dinner. The staff was very friendly period we were seated pretty quickly, and as we looked over the menu, we did have some questions which our server was very happy to help and even went to go check with the kitchen for some things period We decided to order the calamari as an appetizer and pasta dishes for our main course. We also both got a side salad, and our server brought out some bread after we ordered. The calamari had a nice thin breading but no flavor and was rubbery. Additionally, the marinara sauce served with it was delicious, but the "lemon sauce" had no lemon and just tasted like watered down cheese. Shortly after the calamari came out, our salads arrived. They weren't bad, but they were very overdressed. We then got our pasta dishes and were sadly just not impressed by the lack of flavor in our dishes, and my manicotti unfortunately had a sauce similar to the "lemon sauce " that wasn't very pleasant. I will say one thing we did really enjoy was the bread, it was delicious and served with an herb butter. read more

Very spacious inside, but I felt it needs some updating. Not a big fan of the decor, is dull and a bit depressing. The food however is a different story. We had a business meeting, but since I was so hungry, we ordered the fried calamari while waiting on our guests to arrive. All were gone in 10 min. Is well seasoned and very tender inside the crush. For entree, I had the linguine with crab and shrimp. Although I'm not a big fan of red sauce, this was excellent. They come with chock full of jumbo shrimps and crab meat. Very generous with the ingredients. While our guests have desserts, I was too full to have any. Will try on my next trip. Overall, it was a great dinning experience. Our server was awesome: friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Would be 5 stars if they update the furniture and change the lighting. read more

My parents and I were wanting to eat someplace different than our usual restaurants. we have always passed by the sign of this restaurant, but have never actually checked it out. Now, I am not sure why not! Plenty of parking, they practice social distancing between the tables, and all the waiters are masked and ready. Our waiter was thorough, kind and helpful in helping us order off the menu. I ordered their evening special of "Veal Oscar" and was not disappointed. It was so flavorful and delicious. Since we ordered a calamari appetizer, I was too full to eat the whole thing. Super excited I get to enjoy it again today for lunch! :) Their house salad that came with my entree was one of the best house salads I've had from a restaurant. I will order from here more often.
