This could have easily been a five star review, and should have been…read more I brought my truck in for what I thought was a slipping transmission, turns out it was misfiring. MTS was honest, diagnosed and fixed the problem. I am very pleased with how my truck is running now. You know those disposable single use floor mats shops use to protect the vehicle's interior from getting dirty / stained with grease, mud, and oil while mechanics are working on it? I have a Leer truck cap installed on the bed of my truck. Some punk degenerate employed by MTS amused themselves by taking the time to open up my truck cap, crumble up and dispose of the used floor mat. Using my truck bed as their personal dumpster. Kind of defeats the purpose of the floor mat if the intended use is to leave the customer's vehicle in the same condition it's brought to them in, right? Put a bad taste in my mouth for what otherwise would have been an overwhelmingly positive experience. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for quality, reasonably priced service on their vehicles. I just hope they address this minor issue with the "problem child" who got a good laugh out of preventing MTS from receiving a five star review.

We'll take a look and let you know what's going on. 2 hours later and what I thought was a transmission problem turned out to be a much-needed tune up in my 2014 Dodge Charger. I've always had a good judgement of character. I received a handshake when I showed up to drop my car off. I felt that I was in good hands immediately. I'll be visiting again as a very small coolant leak was found during the process. And I knew it was there. Thanks fellas. Bill

AutoNation Subaru promised 2 days but it turned out they hadn't ordered the radio and it would take 7-10 business days, so--for the first time ever--we took it to Kevin at API for the routine stuff and would take it back to AutoNation for the radio another time. We dropped it off June 23 and would pick it up June 29 (which we did.) Drove it home (~5 miles) and it sat until Tuesday at 4:30 a.m. when my wife went to work. The car started shimmying and a burning smell and grinding sound came out from under the hood. She pulled over as the car lost power and the car wouldn't stop rolling in Park; used emergency brake and towed it back to API that morning (June 30). Kevin diagnosed the outback needed a new transmission but denied any culpability, saying instead this is a dealership problem and try to con them into extending the warranty. Towed it to Catonsville Subaru and we have their video diagnostic and written report stating the differential assembly was empty of fluid and the transmission was filled with differential fluid. It cost almost $20K to repair the damage and Kevin and API (with his son and daughter) refuse to respond. I hate to spend $10K to recover $20K but they are leaving us no choice. I've mailed hardcopies, sent email requesting "read receipts (APISOUTH@YAHOO.com) but they immediately delete them without reading. API has their folksy "aw shucks, I'm just one o' ya'll" routine down pat but it's shadier than Trump bitcoin. I recommend avoiding this place like the plague.

I've had a number of rip offs and attempted rip offs over the years and usually have an idea of what's going on with the car beforehand and an idea of what to expect. Never been any unpleasant surprises here and they're always very helpful. Last year I had a car with a problem muffler which was overdue for retirement anyway. I drove it there figuring they could keep the cost down if anyone. I meant way down. They were swamped and couldn't even evaluate but sent me to a custom auto shop they knew. I went there and asked them to jerry rig whatever was wrong with the muffler, hoping for like wiring the hanger up or something. It sounded like it was dragging. Turned out it was broken and they welded or soldered the freaking thing back on for peanuts!! It was exactly what I wanted to spend: next to nothing! And I was out in half an hour! Does that ever happen?! When has that ever happened with a car repair in your life?! Most are such crooks. I thanked them profusely for jerry rigging it, he said" oh it's welded, solidly it's not jerry rigged. It's not gonna break." And it hasn't, that was over a year ago. I believe both shops earned a spot right next to st peter in the afterlife that day. As long as they don't blow it they're set for the afterlife. I will go and review that other place soon too. As it ended up there were other financial hits and I kept the car longer anyway.. but couldn't have without that service. Anyway that's like the complete opposite of my most extreme disreputable blatant attempted rip off by a local Exxon in Ellicott City toward the west route 40 part over 20 years ago. That business had passed to the son after my Dad had relied on them for decades. Became grifters! I'll write that up soon too here.

It was so good, I thought I would go back for an oil change and 30 point inspection. However, this time I was unpleasantly surprised. They told me when I dropped off the car it would be $127 so I said no problem. When I returned it magically went up to $192! When I inquired into why they hemmed and hawed until it finally came out that they broke my oil filter cap. They claimed "those break all the time." I pointed out I have gotten my car serviced many times at the dealer (2017 car) and not once have they broke it. No response. They claimed they replaced it "with a better one." So you charged me $68 for a $30 ish aluminum cap that YOU broke. I really hate when people talk to women like they don't know anything about cars. I know they were price gouging me and I don't appreciate being talked to like I was an idiot. I have grown up going to car shows and working with my dad on his classic cars and I don't appreciate this behavior. I will not be returning.
