The greatest little gem for amazing Thai food is hidden in plain view. Pacific Rim Thai Kitchen is by far the best I've had in the Torrance/Hawthorne area. My mom, who is very picky about her Asian foods loves this place. Attached to the same building as CVS pharmacy, this tiny, little restaurant, offers 7 dine-in tables, as well as to-go orders; and they are always busy. We first dined here over Mother's Day weekend, and popped back in a couple months later, and the owner remembered us, and exactly what we ordered! We enjoyed the same dishes as before; eggplant beef and veggies, and chicken pad thai. Fabulous, consistent, hot, quick, and super affordable. Parking is easy, and this place is clean and organized. This is fast becoming our go-to for Thai in the area. I'm looking forward to trying the pumpkin curry next! So many great dishes, you'll be sure to find something amazing. read more

Over time this has become our go-to Thai restaurant in the area. The staff is super nice and the food is always great. The Massaman curry is my favorite but all the other things we've tried are delicious also. Usually I order when before picking up something at CVS next door and it's ready a few minutes after I get done. We get 3-4 things and it lasts us a couple of days. This is a great local business to support - stop by sometime. read more

Absolutely love their Tom Yum soup! I always get a large of shrimp and chicken when I am feeling under the weather and it always makes me feel better. Cute little 7 table place next to CVS. Very friendly and attentive staff. Generous food portions but every dish except for the papaya salad was lacking something. Tom Yum Chicken Soup was just okay. Was not as sour as most Thai places...and I don't know if I'm upset or not that they took out the lemongrass for me. The soup wasn't lacking in chicken or mushrooms. We ordered flat rice noodles on the side and it was a very nice compliment with the soup. Pad See Ew - "where's the beef" I don't See Ew...the taste and flavor was not bad but a little disappointed that it only has 3 broccoli florets very little beef. Shrimp Pad Thai was more runny than most Pad Thai I have had. It was a bit bland and felt like it was lacking something in the dish. Thai Fried Rice was very tasty but was missing the wok heat. If you are Asian or an Asian food connoisseur you know what I mean. I thought the Papaya salad was really good and fresh. Overall the place is not bad place if you are looking for something local but I thinks there are far better Thai restaurants in the Southbay. read more

I honestly can't recommend this restaurant although the service was so good the food was not. We left all the calamari on the table, it was cut really big and had an unpleasant fishy taste, the bbq meat was flavorless and all tasted boiled and the fried rice was wet which was odd. It didn't taste like Thai food. My dad liked his pineapple curry and the wonton soup broth was delicious but the wontons were mushy. Really wanted Thai food and picked this spot to meet a friend. The outside of the restaurant looks a little spare but the food was delicious, everything was served very quickly, inside was neat and clean, and the servers were very kind. Wow, one of the best Thai meals since I left Thailand itself! Extensive menu providing vegan and vegetarian dishes as well as conventional seafood and meat. We called in for a pickup and it was well packaged for the drive home. What did we order you ask, well let me tell you: Fish cakes - Oh My...one of my faves and these were delish dipped in the sweet chilli sauce accompanying them Chewy with plenty of fish and a robust blend of spices. Tom Yung - excellent flavor combo, refreshing and tasty at the same time and packed with shrimp, another definite repeat dish Shrimp Pineapple Curry - this one was a little too sweet for my liking, perhaps a tad too much tinned pineapple, however I managed to eat the whole thing and lick the plate so not bad :) Pork fried rice - um yes, pork was bountiful and it was fried to perfection Duck curry - we wanted to order this but they were all out of duck which was a pain as it is a fave, however we know we will be back again so we will order it next time. It's not often I give a review for a restaurant without trying their food or some type of negative experience that prevents obtaining food but I have to give a shout out to this restaurant. I was on the road for a long drive and had to exit the 405 freeway to go to cvs to get something for my stomach ache. I then had to use the restroom badly but the cvs one was not available to the public due to being "messed up and dirty", which is how the pharmacist described it anyways. I ran out of cvs desperately looking for a place nearby and the ice cream shoo did not have a restroom. I ran around the other direction of the CVS and saw a Thai restaurant. The sign outside said restroom for customers only. I ran inside in a rush and said "I promise I'll buy something if you let me use your restroom". They generously said I didn't need to and let me use it. Suffice to say lifesaver! On the way out, I left a $5 tip and they refused but I said "you can pretend i bought something :) " anyways I don't know how their food is or their prices but when you come across a lovely clean restaurant without a clean bathroom and generous employees, can't not give a great review read more

The food here is excellent for a small mom and pop joint! Duck pineapple curry with rice is my go-to. Thai tea is good, not overly sweet. Food comes out fairly quickly depending how busy they are. I think it's just the husband or someone back there slingin, so he's cookin multiple orders. The wife or woman at the front is always friendly and welcoming. She's also got a number of beautiful plants in there that are very well cared for, so that's brownie points from me! read more

Lots of strip mall parking and conveniently located on this busy thoroughfare, service is quick even with their large volume of take out orders. The tiny place seats less than thirty and is very fast in getting out their orders. Lots of preparation options with different proteins of chicken, beef, pork, tofu, squid, duck, etc.. Flavors fall a little short as our spicy eggplant wasn't spicy while our pineapple duck could have had larger chunks of duck, additionally our fried tofu was flavorless and needed the dipping sauce.
