My friend introduced me to Lucky Nails in the last year and it's now my go-to place! Staff is excellent and they always fit me in as I call ahead! I usually go soon after they open which is 9:30 before they get super busy. Everyone is so nice! In early August, I got a mani-pedi which Ginny did. Afterwards when my nails were drying, she gave me an extra long back rub without extra price and it was amazing! Best back rub ever and I will definitely make an appointment with her for a private session in the future! Last week I went and Ginny was off. I had Lisa and she was so patient, helping me pick out the color I needed to match the dress I was wearing to a party the following day. It wasn't a color I would ever pick myself and it matched my dress perfectly!! My friend and I arrived very early and they took us right away even though it was busy already. When my nails were dry I paid and left Lisa a tip and while putting my money back I smudged 2 nails so she fixed them. Upon drying my nails for another ten mins I asked her if they were dried and she touched one and that one got smudged. Lisa very patiently fixed that finger waiting in between the clear polish and the actual nail polish. When the nails were dried after the second time, I tried to give her an additional tip and she wouldn't take the money. Everyone complimented my nails at the party and it is now my favorite shade. I've been here a few times, so I feel I can give a pretty credible review by this point. The employees here are sweet and will go out if their way to make sure they provide as close to the look you were going for as possible. For the most part. During my most recent appointment, I was going for a more nautical look, and I wanted a small gold starfish on the nail. Hand-drawn is what I had in mind, but I was told they could only stick these tiny stars on the nail. Cute, but not the look I was going for. Anyway, I still got a somewhat nautical look, and they were great in helping me find a glittery gold for my ring finger nails (a bit darker than in the picture from which I got my idea - and I showed them this picture - but it worked well enough for me). So the prices that I'm aware of: At the time of this writing, ~$12 for a regular manicure; $23 for a pedicure; $30 for a gel manicure; $5/nail for designs. I believe you can pick up to 2 colors without an additional charge (no design), but would be charged if it's 3+ colors. Please double check on that because I'm not entirely sure. I also wanted to comment on the massage they give that it seems most nail salons provide after your nails have been worked on. They give pretty good massages - they actually work on your soft tissue, not "massage" bony areas, something I've experienced at another salon (and that was a bit painful!). The salon seems to be pretty accommodating, whether you make appointments by phone or walk in (for the latter, they'll see you so long as there is availability, meaning empty seats and enough nail techs). Lastly, there appear to be regulars that the nail techs are familiar with. BUT, contrary to another particular salon (will not name drop, but *hint* it may or may not be the only other salon I've reviewed by this point), they don't show seem to show favoritism or blow off other customers in favor of serving these regulars. read more

Quarantine review amidst COVID-19: I recently moved to the area and I really wanted to get my nails done. I walked past the nail salon and decided to call to see if they would take me. By appointment only due to the new regulations. They told me to come in before they closed at 6:30pm and Helen did my nails. She did such a phenomenal job. I got a manicure and pedicure and she did not rush and was so meticulous with everything. I really enjoyed the foot massage and back massage at the end of the services.. bless her hands! Will go back and have her do my nails again. $42 - not mad at all. I'm giving them 5 stars also because they really are doing such a great job disinfecting and keeping everything clean. My pedicure was nice and fair priced. However, when the woman doing my feet tried to sell me a callus remover service and I denied it for personal reasons she began to speak about me in her language (assuming I didn't understand) to the worker doing my friends feet and act as if I was being cheap. Even if I was being cheap, THATS not your business. Someone was treating me and I did not want to be greedy. On top of that I did not believe it would work. AND IT DIDNT. She began being very rude and rough with my pedicure. When she came back to English she tried to make it seem like I didn't know what I was talking about. The tech applied some cheap version of clusters instead of single individual mink or synthetic lashes and I paid $65 and I tipped $4 only because I didn't want a problem, when I explained to her that I wanted single strand lashes, she told me she just applied more to give it a full look. They looked like cheap clusters you get out the beauty supply! And my eyes watered for an hour until I removed them myself, painfully, she even applied some on my eyelid and you can clearly see where the extension was glued... Ended up removing them after an hour and applying my own inviduals until I go to a real tech on Friday... you get what you pay for here. Wasted money here! By far the worst experience I have ever had at a nail place. I should have walked out immediately when I noticed how filthy it was. I only had a regular pedicure. She scrubbed my feet so hard and with such force (with the square/rectangular scrubber) that she managed to bruise my ankle, and left me with a nasty scar!!! All I could think was to put peroxide and hope that it would not get infected. If that was not enough, as she was massaging my back (while my feet were drying) she was screaming at another customer! I always thought you go in for a manicure/pedicure to relax not to get bruised and listen to a screaming match. Everyone has their own experiences and I'm surprised this place doesn't have great reviews. I have traveled from Brooklyn to get my nails done here. I have received 3 of the best pedicures OF MY LIFE from this place and only a few great manicures (1 painful manicure but it is going to happen once in a blue moon). My feet feel brand new when i walk about of this place and everyone who goes to the salon seems to know each other and it's kind of a love fest. I came in asking for a new technique on my nails that obviously they were not familiar with. I was scared to proceed but I must say they didn't alright job for first timer. the customer service was great. I used to come here years ago but stopped because the customer service has declined. I have a very busy schedule and when I can make it in I need to get everything done at once. I always took my nail technicians at least $20 so I don't expect to be turned away when I come in. f I could give this place negative stars I would. Do not spend your hard earned money at this RUDE and RACIST establishment. I went there on 5/10/18 with some friends for a mani pedi. They told us we were talking too loud (which was far from the case) while a white lady was getting a massage in the public area of the salon. The lady who did my nails chuckled several times as I told her what I wanted done to my nails. She also did not say thank you once I gave her a very optional tip. One of my acrylic nails cracked off not even within 24 hrs of my visit here, so I went back the next day. The lady maybe spent about 10 minutes redoing it with such haste. She waited it was done drying to tell me I had to pay 5$ in addition to the 45$ that I spent the day before to get the nail redone. After disagreeing with her with her she told me she didn't care how much I spent before, and that I still needed to pay. After about another minute of arguing she told me to "Go" (which I was going to do anyway without paying) and to "Never come back again". Trust me you won't have to worry about that lady! read more
