so we are heading to our new home when I see the Lucky Dog sign, and ask the BF if he wants a Dog and of course he says sure so we swing in to check them out they have a good size menu and we both decide to get 2 Dogs and fries, I think it was the #7 it comes with a soda and we each ordered a Lemon Italian Ice as it is made fresh had to try it out, they have about 6 different flavors I want to try the Mango it just sounds good the dogs were Chicago style of course and really good, the fries were fresh and hot, only thing that would of made them better was if they were fresh cut they have a drive threw and is about 2 miles from the new place so I will be back read more

I love lucky dog , has one of the best gyros and hot dogs in Chicago, the price is good for the taste/quality. The hot dogs are great . The gyro is huge a lot of extra meat and very delicious ,fries are great, they have horchata (rice water) which I love . Definitely will come back for more. read more

Every single sandwich I have at this Lucky Dog location is yum yum YUM! I like the Gyro sauce, the meat, and especially the tuna melt. My daughter loves the fries (of course). We always get the horchata and it's good to go for dinner (when we eat out fast). I teach right down the road from Lucky Dog and the teachers frequently go here every Friday. I've had many things on the menu including the super taco, chicago dog, philly, cheese burger... the best being the cheese burger. The philly is nothing like a philly and the dogs are just okay. The super taco reminds me of taco bell. They serve a ton of food for a small price and they are quick. The staff is always really friendly and the place is usually pretty busy for lunch. All in all it is okay, not the best in the area by any means but a good stop for lunch if you are looking for something cheap and quick. Two stars for the food, an extra star for the quickness and staff. read more

Ok so I go in for a late night snack and the young girl behind the counter was screaming at someone to bring her phone.. Umm okay nice greeting ... Then when I went to pick up my order (and while they where making it) the two men behind the counter where staring at me and laughing and I mean like looking at me right in the eye didn't say anything but laughed really hard then looking at each other then back at me.. That's not something I want to see when someone is handing me my food. Like I thought I was being neurotic but they couldn't be more forward. It wasn't the cleanest but it wasn't filthy or anything. They don't give you tzatziki sauce with the gyros! Asked for sauce on the side and I got some butter garlic oil. The food tasted fine, but since i did drive thru, i couldn't go back to find out if they messed up our simply don't put tzatziki sauce on gyros. So weird. So sad. This was my first time here. As a native Wisconsinite who loves her cheese, i was excited to see they had fried cheese curds. It's hard to find good cheese curds in Illinois and these were AWESOME! Little pricey but delicious. I lowered my star rating to 3 because I waited nearly 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged me and took my order. Very disappointed I always come here today was the worse experience ever. Ordered a chicken on a pita with lettuce and onions the didn't put lettuce on it and added tomatoes. The sandwich was not the same. And then the wait in the drive thru was 15 minutes.. that's way to long. I come here often for the gyro. They give you a huge portion of meat and the gyro sauce is great. They have a wide selection of food and some pretty good combo meals that come with fries and a drink, but I only get the gyro sandwich. They also have free wifi, which is a plus. There have been 1 or 2 times when I've had to wait a little too long for my food, but overall the staff are friendly and the service is good. The prices could be cheaper since it's just regular fast food. read more

I give this 2 stars only because I thought the drive thru was fast and efficient and the service very friendly. That being said, maybe they shouldn't be so quick because the fries were barely cooked, flimsy and no crisp whatsoever. My chicken sandwich in theory should have been good because it looked good. Grilled up nicely with a little char to it, tomatoes, onions, mayo on top. Looks great but has absolutely no flavor whatsoever. Some sort of seasoning is desperately needed. Ate half because I was starving and tossed the rest along with the mushy fries. Definitely won't be returning any time soon. I hope they make some changes. read more

While the food is mildly decent for late night, greasy fast food, the service is horrible. I went here recently after quite some time away and after the most recent experience I had, I saw why it had been a minute since my last visit. For starters the food is never ever hot and you can literally wait up to 15 mins before they open the window to deliver so much as a "Hello, how are you doing tonight?" and when they finally open the window (not to speak or anything because that would be too much like proper customer service) they hand with the most begrudging of temperance some cold and soggy whatever greasy delicacy served on their 100 item menu. My friend and I were coming back from a night out and she ordered the Italian Ice with chicken tenders and fries and I ordered the Mozzarella sticks, one chicken taco and an Italian Ice for myself all of which were very cold upon arrival and the mozzarella sticks were over-breaded and the fries tasted freezer burnt, but the kicker was that we were literally the only people in the line so not very busy, yet it took them an insane amount of time to finish the order. While the food is bad, the customer service and nasty attitudes always shown by the women who work the drive thru, in particular the orange haired and glassed young lady leaves very very little to be desired so bad it'll make you turn away from ever eating at the establishment in life. To go into the harrowing experience; harrowing in the sense that they would allow an individual with such an ignorance on properly interacting with the public to work there, that would take up more characters than the review allows. To keep it short and sweet; she never spoke when she opened the window the first time, she yelled off order totals, threw the food in my friends' and I face and got nasty when we asked for an extra sauce. To close she wouldn't give her name when we asked stating that she couldn't give it out and was yelling and giving and giving a condescending "Good Night" as to move us along when we asked her once more for the name. Having grew up in the area this used to always be a great bite to eat for me and my friends after a night of going out but with the rude attitudes having gone up and the quality of food down I will never ever be returning here and if I can give the best money saving tip for anyone else on here, I would suggest you do the exact same. read more

I end up in Berwyn a lot due to work stuff. I had passed by this place a few times and decided one day to stop in. The food was good, but the service was great. The owner (I am pretty sure) was really friendly and helped me out when there was a small mistake with my order. I thought I had ordered a taco to take with me, but it did not show up. He simply had the cook make one, and did not charge me for it. I still don't know if it was my mistake or theirs, but he owned it and hooked me up. I thought he deserved a shout out! read more

This place is a good 45 minute drive from my house. Their food is amazing, always fresh and timely and this is all I need for a good date!!!! Good food and good company! Mixed emotions about this place. I got a gyros and fries the first time and it was very good. We went a second time and i got the same thing. This second time the gyros pita was almost stale tasting and the sauce had a strange taste. I didnt get sick- thankfully but something just didnt taste right. So I've been coming to lucky dog at this specific location for about 13 years now...great quality food...always...but lately the service is off like crazy. I went in today and ordered an Italian beef meal..a chicken cesear salad and mozzarella sticks...the food was great....BUT I'm just going to say I feel bad for the chefs. I'm sitting there waiting for my food and a girl is just sitting on her phone talking.. Didn't even acknowledge her job...I mean I don't think her only job was to put green salsa into the portion cups..I'm pretty sure she should've been handing orders out...perhaps communicating with the chefs...didn't receive dressing for my salad...which I don't blame on the chef....it looked like he didn't even receive our order so he was already freaking out the least this girl could've done was put dressing in the bag. My son and I stopped in for hot dogs on the way home from Cicero. My hot dog was fine. His cheese dog had two pieces of unmelted cheese on it. Because we were still hungry I ordered 2 sundaes. I paid and waited for 10 minutes and they were not ready. I watched the 2 ladies making other food and filling drive thru orders but no ice cream. Finally I went back up and got a refund. No apology or any sign of concern from the staff. My advice is to keep driving if in need of food. I'm sure you can find something better on Harlem Ave. read more

my husband went thru the drive-through last night to get us a few orders of fries (late night treat). He then drove home with the bag where I was anxiously awaiting the sinful indulgence. To our dismay, we found 2 hot dogs in the bag - not what we ordered. We dont eat meat so this did us no good and left us hungry and bummed out. I called and they gave us a credit for the 2 fries we did not receive. that seems like a cheap-oh deal for loyal customers like us. Jee thanks guys for refunding what was rightfully mine in the first place. How bout a lil sumpin for my troubles? But no! And I'm not asking for a years supply of fries, or anything outrageous.
